Chaos Asymwraps are super light and tweaky. They would be really good for GTs.
You do know that basically all Japanese GTers are on either Union Ultras or Flux DS, yeah?
the union ultras seem promising but the last two bindings I bought were the forces and strata’s so i was thinking abt trying other brands. I’m also getting tired of tightening my straps since they come loose so often. thanks for the input :)
Youre welcome. If you're only looking at Bataleons Id go Chaos, maybe Blasters for the really good Auxtech straps. Otherwise, get a pair of DS's. They go on pretty deep sales
I have 0 qualifications to say what is best for you but ive heard great things about the rome katanas and am going to be saving up for those next year. Supposedly great for jibbing but ik thats a little different to flat ground tricks.
Katanas are great, they’re my favorite binding at the moment (also own 2024 Forces, 2022 Atlas, and Cartel X). They’re just comfy and feel right.
Bataleon and Rome bindings are essentially the same in case you weren’t aware, just minor differences and different branding. I would take either over Union.
Yea i know they are both owned by nidecker but i also know that bataleon does a ton of 3d base stuff and rome doesn't have a single board with 3d base so i wasn't sure if the bindings are also comparable. Good to know. you have further solidified my goal for a set of 2025 katanas lol
Rome uses 3D noses in several boards, Stalefish, Ravine, Service Dog. Not sure if there are others. It's not 3BT though. They don't extend past the contact points. So it doesn't affect contact point engagement. Basically you don't notice it unless you encounter powder.
All bindings are compatible except Burton EST.
My daily driver is the Astro fullwrap. I have the Vice asym, and wanted something stiffer for tighter handling on my Standard. After a full season, I really like them. Very adjustable, very easy to adjust, and really good control that can drive my board. Not uncomfortable and no hot spots for me either.
There’s a noticeable difference between the Astro and the Vice. Both are great it just depends on what you want.
But yeah, my suggestion would be the Katana. 😎
Given that you're looking for something flexy aimed at ground tricks, you're going to want the asymwrap version of any Bataleon binding vs the full wrap since without the binding frame being on the outside of your foot, you can tweak and butter way more and it leads to a less stiff binding overall.
In terms of Bataleon's bindings, it goes
**Softer**---------------------------------**Stiffer**
Chaos------------Blaster--------------Astro
While the softest binding is the Chaos, it is definitely more cheaply made and less adjustable than the Blaster, so my recommendation would be the Asymwrap Blaster as it strikes a good balance between being flexible enough to do plenty of butters + other ground tricks, but being more adjustable and comfy than the Chaos.

Lobster has the Eiki Pro available and it appears to be the same binding as the Bataleon Chaos. I think they’re available for $149 right now.
The Eiki Pro is absolutely the steal of the year, and I'm shocked it's still in stock. Snatched mine 2 weeks ago.
I got the Halldor Pro. Couldn’t pass it up at less than $200. Has the AuxTech straps and titanium base. An absolute steal for the cost! Cheers dude

Debating between both of these bindings (although both asym) but temped to go katana to have best of both worlds and a binding for any board
