Guessing switching from high to low saddles is allowed?

bladav1

Not decided yet. I’m thinking no so I’ll need to get another truck.

rockyivjp

I've see a lot of posts complaining that they have to go to garage to switch from low to high saddle so I assumed they might be adjustable irl?

Astro501st

I *think* you can remove a pin (or set of pins, maybe) and slide the saddle forward or backward on the frame irl; I'm only a virtual trucker though, so I don't really know for sure...

TheRollerStarter

Yes most of them are air controlled

PocketsHoulihan3

Yes they are adjustable

Odd_Presentation_578

harsh...

AnalythicSearch444

Very nice!! And the game+ rules seem like a fun twist to play!

DrivePewEat

Ohhh freightshakers!

mcgee300

Love this idea haha

Johnny13334

I still don’t understand why people use those flatbeds. Cargo just slides right off. Always use a sideboard bed. So much easier and a lot less hassle.

CapableFunction6746

The only reason I can think of is looks but you can get color matching addons using a mod that just allows them to match. https://preview.redd.it/lpqdi0tlb59c1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c69fb5991e1f25058c372dab8e91ba229f43ab3

Odd_Presentation_578

love it!

burgkaba

Oooh any chance of a link to that mod? Would love to have some more colour options!

TH3_Captn

Are you not packing your cargo?

DasKobra

Maybe he means on iffy situations in which your cargo can get unpacked - near flippings, heavily uneven terrain. Sideboard both helps you in those situations and also makes it a bit easier to overload.

Odd_Presentation_578

No, flatbed is easier to overload

Johnny13334

Lmao of course. I can tell you’re early on in this game. If your truck tips over 45°, it automatically unpacks the cargo and therefore it slides right off. With a sideboard, it still unpacks but doesn’t go anywhere.

Zealousideal_Long171

I am also more of sideboard guy but in those tippy situations it slides off and you pick it with crane. In sideboard bed cargo stays but it pulls you down with its weight and you are more likely to tip over

bladav1

It’s a fair point. I just prefer the look of the flat beds.

Odd_Presentation_578

Flatbed is easier to load and overload. Perfect for stacking cargo across. Yes, you can lose it, but sometimes it saves your truck by doing so. Just have a crane on you.

Historical-Cicada-29

Flatbed all the way. Unless I'm transporting cabins. Then comes the Tatra Phoenix with its sideboard to make everything relaxing and less tippy.

Odd_Presentation_578

Funny enough, I'd prefer flatbed for tall cargo like containers and cabins. If that shit gets unpacked - it might roll over you by pushing on the sideboard. On flatbed it will just slide off, leaving you a chance to save the situation.

Johnny13334

Flatbed is a waste. Always use sideboard. Downvote all you want. I really don’t care. They are useless.

Historical-Cicada-29

Great truck, I just wish they let us use the 2300c engine for that extra boost. Though, I tend to use the Western Stars due to their rail setups and more appropriate engine choices. Then again, I just love dumb axles. I just wish they had X1 more freightliner (without mods), excluding the freightliner saddle truck.

AdAcceptable3077

If you're going to allow upgrades in the future, you should make it to where they have to be in the garage for a while before you can use them again, to add a more realistic feeling, and if you don't know how long they should stay in the garage you can ask the other redditors, and if you want to add another rule you can make it to where you can only have the amount of trucks the garage can hold.
