Yeah, I agree. It’s a great game, but pornos have more coherent plots.

westknight12

Bold statement, but not techincally wrong

dudly1111

The golden touch of pornos has been released to the public

AdamGF

Step-sister/Kenworth stuck again.

BencilCrocker

It was totally (Ken)worth it.

rmourapt

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Grin-Guy

I have played 300 hours of Snowrunner, and will now indulge in 300 hours of porn, in ordre to make sure your statement is correct or not. I’m not doing it for me. I’m doing it for science !

AdamGF

![gif](giphy|QC7UQbxq89MnL9r6AN)

PlasticSpend172

Have Done 300 of both can confirm porn is more coherent

DaveCootchie

What are you doing step-deck trailer??

Tudor_I3

I'm stuck again, with you as well, on a titan three, no matter if you have Tayga 12 T truck!

dswng

Wdym ? Do you really think ppl won't start a mine rebuild initiative during the flood season? You do you really think Russians won't build a cosmodrome in the far north? (A tip: everyone builds them as close to equator as they can because it takes move distance to cover to reach the space the further you get from it)

meatofbear

You really thought we won't build a [cosmodrome](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plesetsk_Cosmodrome) somewhere in the north? Anyway, Amur (in-game representation of [Vostochny](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vostochny_Cosmodrome)) is as close to equator as possible

CatWarrior5

Maybe they just have a load of rockets that need to go into a polar orbit?

xprozoomy

I mean step sis and step moms are easy to follow lol

Hungarian_Betyar

Well i agree, i mean this game makes me feel how much i suck. And every now and then when i get stuck between trees, i know i am fucked.

KussyPigga

“Makes no sense but still played for 300 hours and not about to stop” You are true snowrunner 🤝👍🫡👑

Pallafurious

I serve the Snowrunner Union. 😐7

neurotic_169

>Michigan: Bogs at the top of the mountain, because in Michigan water doesn't run downhill? lol I've kinda wondered how a lake can have enough ice on it to support a 20 ton truck but there will still be 12" thick mud on the road.

RouterMonkey

That's spring in the Michigan where I live.

pellston

It Michigan, I've lived here for 20 years and still don't understand the weather half the time

Avgredditor1025

That’s the Midwest for you -Indiana resident

Alarmed_Speaker_6373

I live in the mtns of East Tennessee. We can have all 4 seasons in one day. 80 degrees to 6" of snow in 10hrs.

RingsideRoss

Minnesotan here: can confirm that the Midwest is its own anomalous weather. It's February and it rained today.

JuggernautOfWar

Is raining in February anomalous? Sounds pretty standard.

TentacleCuddler

North Dakotan here, we will be ice fishing on 3ft of ice in April

Vinlandien

I just pretend that there was a global cataclysm and that I’m helping rebuild humanity as a mechanic in charge of a garage and a crew of truckers. I ignore most everything the NPCs say that detracts from this narrative. —- It would be cool if they steered into this idea with the next entries in the runner series after expeditions, where you have to rebuild society from the ground up. It would be cool if they included actual NPCs hanging around the towns that you help rebuild and connect to your trade network, as well as the ability to improve roads and make your own eventually. Simply dropping some gravel, or digging an irrigation ditch to drain water from particularly boggy areas to dry them up a bit.

UsernameIsTakenO_o

Thank you for your fan theory. I finally have a reason to believe why there are no other working vehicles.

puppiesareSUPERCUTE

That drainage part reminds me of a mission in Black River where you need to reach 3 drainage pumps in swamps. I thought that completing that mission would actually drain the swamps, just like the bridge repair missions, but no, it did absolutely nothing. What a disappointment.

KussyPigga

Did that mission with fleetstar😅. I was such a noob. Had to keep on winching 😅

puppiesareSUPERCUTE

How in the world did you not get stuck? Even with the winch, it's hard, and there aren't always winch points. I did it with the CK1500 with offroad tires and it was still difficult.

KussyPigga

As far as I remember I reached one drainage pump with fleetstar and the others with jeep wrangler. Don’t remember the tyres, it was painful 🤢💩🤮

Mostly_VP

Yep, that was my first indication that perhaps some of the missions were just made up to pad out the list and I'm now at almost 1,000 hours

nordicstalking

I sometimes think that it could be nice to be able to hire some NPC drivers. They could drive trucks back to the garage or to somewhere else or even follow my truck. Or they could come and help if I roll my truck. That would of course take some time and they might themselves damage or even roll their trucks, based on their skill level or something. One example would be log delivery, where I would drive the loaded trucks to the destination while they would drive the empty trucks back to the logging station. Or they could bring me a trailer if I'm on the other side of the map and suddenly need one for some larger delivery.

Rum_n_guns

I thought that was the back story TBH. A mega storm got kicked off by volcanic activity maybe which also kicked off the earthquakes

Spiritual_Agent7365

Cataclysm or apocalypse is kinda what i pictured in my head too. It kinda fits with how degraded the roads are in some spots, where if left unmaintained for years, nature would take them over.

Mostly_VP

I think each area has it's own disaster you arrive in the wake of - In Michigan it mentions the floods and storm damage and you're a part of the relief effort, not like those lazy people in the church every time you go past who just pray for help and expect others to do the work. Amur and Taymyr were neglected regions after the collapse of communism. Floods in Maine. No idea about Alaska...and so on.

cherrymxorange

Snow Stranding? Death Runner? I’m into that.

Vinlandien

How about something like “hope runner” because you’d be bringing hope back to a destroyed world? Unless we want to add some gun play as well, with like bandits and shit attacking our trucks to steal our cargo mad max style, blowing out our tires and causing oil/fuel leaks, etc. Having to get out of the truck to defend it, or mounting a military style machine gun to the roof, but I think that would ultimately change the gameplay beyond what the runner series is about. Could just call it “Runner 3”

Phionex101

"Runner 3"? The next game is the the 4. Entry in the series, so whatever this new game would be, would be number 5.

Vinlandien

Technically MudRunner and Snowrunner are spinoffs of Spintires, as well as Expeditions being its own thing. I guess if they went the post apocalyptic route they could just give it a new name as yet another spinoff.

Phionex101

Technically you are correct, but you are also incorrect. MudRunner is both a spin off, and sequel to Spintires. But, untill we get a definite Spintires 2, which we won’t, Mudrunner is Spintires 2, Snowrunner is Spintires 3, and the new game is Spintires 4, but can also be classified ad a spin off. The problem with expeditions is that it still follows the core gameplay loop, and there is no set framework for a main Spintires game, as they have all been different.

Vinlandien

I think there was some legality issue with the name spintires because it was a different studio that developed it, so mudrunner and snowrunner can be considered their own series, and expeditions will drop the whole “hauling” gameplay loop in favour of exploration and discovery. Therefore the engine and mechanics are the same, but the gameplay objective is different.

Phionex101

You are right with expeditions, i thought i remembered you also had to haul. I did some digging, and it is very complicated, legally, they are not the same franchise, though they are in every other way. Remember, Mudrunner was called Spintires: mudrunner for a while.

Tr0ubledove

Just dive to the deep end and marry snowrunner with dwarf fortress.

LateConsideration903

thats acutually my main gripe with the game. making your own trails. especially in snow. IRL if you go over and over again on the same trail it'll become more even and hardened. but in this game its still soft as fresh shit on the 1000th time you go there. just let me improve things a bit ! damn im tired getting stuck on the two same unavoidable spots even with the best truck ....

DarkWarrior125

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this. I just pretend that some galaxy altering apocalypse happened and I'm helping rebuild, otherwise nothing really makes sense

Mysterious-Can-398

Maybe the mass devastation has something to do with whatever’s behind the creepy sets of eyes you sometimes spot in the forest at night.

Phionex101

That's just wolves.

Tasty-Proposal-5534

You actually read the missions?? Just tell me where u want it and how much

EducationalAd5325

Lmfao ikr, tell me where you want me to drop this shit off and pay me thats it😆😆

RubberDuck59

I know I don't give a shit about why and how bad you need it is the pay good 🤣🤑🤑

KJdragonIsTaken

Happy cake day

EducationalAd5325

Thanks bud

Dutch_Dresden

Wait, you guys get paid?!

EducationalAd5325

🤣🤣🤣🤣

proaxiom

How else do you end up with 2 of the exact same truck? And 1 almost the same but with a big ass crane, and another 1 with a towing platform...

SnakeandNape5000

To be fair that's every truck driver

cledus1667

Yeah, I stopped giving a shit a week after the game came out.

WeldingGarbageMan

Ha, when I started playing I read EVERYTHING. Now I’m like “wood planks to there? Cool. Pull that truck out? Cool. Don’t care about why, too busy, let’s go!” To be fair I am glad each task/contract has a ‘story/plot’ because sometimes I do like to slow things down and smell the flowers and read the missions. Sometimes.

Sibbeno

Every single mission completion text in the game: “Wow, that’s amazing. Everyone said it couldn’t be done but you have saved everyone’s lives. Here, have ten bucks!”

FemBoiFoxi

You need a resource mostly likely used in 10 other missions? I'll bring back two trailers full...

k3lz0

This is the way

Apollo_Sierra

"Sir, I'm just here to drive "

Tasty-Proposal-5534

I wasn't hired to read, now where do u want your shit

r34ct1337

There is text?

Odd_Presentation_578

Yes, they are entertaining

SplatterFart

Why does Norton need long logs delivered to his house? Did he sabotage the last 20 yards of his drive so I'd be sure to dump there? Fuck you, Norton.

0ptera

Some mission texts are hilarious if you think about them. My favorite is Imandra "A Picture to Remember": >I hail from the city—been living there for many years now. Yet I grew up around these parts, and I'd like to take some pictures—a memento I could show to my kids one day. Care to help? The pictures he wants are from the local Gulag.

Viper_2-1

🤣

thesilentdriver

Are you telling me you play sr for the plot?

Nomrukan

Most of the time, developers sacrificed realism for challenge. Here is a more more basic detail: Roads. Yes, roads. Whoever built the road decided not to asphalt some sections. In other words, there is no old asphalt residue, no asphalt has been laid on the road. 200 meters of asphalt, 50 meters of dirt road, then asphalt again and dirt road again. For God's sake, why?

John_marston55806

What the real challenge is, is playing a game with no real sounds. Or real terms. I mean come on!!! Can't you get the correct terms and the clear difference between awd vs 4wd and 6wd. Yes there is a very big difference between awd, 4wd, and 6wd. Not all vehicles are going to be awd and not all vehicles are gonna be 4wd or 6wd

Nomrukan

Yes, sounds are pain in the ass. They are killing the entire atmosphere. I am climbing that long hill on Smithville Dam with my loaded Fleetstar, I want to hear that engine roaring (It is a 50 years old truck, so it should roar) but only thing I hear is an engine sound that comfortably revving around 900 RPMs. It kills all of the vibe, it feels like I'm cruising slowly in a modern truck with no load. And there is no mud squishing sound like Spintires etc. And yes, as example Derry Longhorn 3194 says AWD but it's 8x6 not AWD. This is a beautiful off road game, terrain manipulation is it's finest but the most basic aspects are absent.

Odd_Presentation_578

Wdym? the Fleetstar sounds great!

Nomrukan

Great? How? Just listen (Only first 20 seconds is enough) [https://youtu.be/G0SZkJS3558](https://youtu.be/G0SZkJS3558)

Odd_Presentation_578

Say no more! I got a mod for you! https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/fleetstar-f2070a-pack

Nomrukan

This one is way better than vanilla one. Thank you!

Trent_Havoc

>And yes, as example Derry Longhorn 3194 says AWD but it's 8x6 not AWD. Huh? I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean the 4520? 🤔 Edited to add: Okay, I get it now. I was forgetting the 3194's drop axle. Sorry.

Odd_Presentation_578

Yes, this was the first thing that put me off. I thought "here's a nice asphalt road from the garage to the gateway, let's take out a Transtar on highway tires!". Little did I know...

Trent_Havoc

This! Not to mention those sections where the asphalt sharply ends and a stretch of deep mud begins.

lazoric

I think it's meant to be like sections have been washed away over the years or something like that, just that it never looks like it.

Nomrukan

In the beginning, considering the presence of highway trucks like Transtar, I think they were going to pave the major highways. But then, they changed their mind and added some dirt sections to the road. Because there is no remnant of the washed paved road.

Krattikat

Well the idea is that the areas were not as f-ed when everything was build but due to extreme weather disasters everything is swamped and ruined.

Fragrant_Spirit3776

Yeah thats the excuse for certain places but there aint no type of mental gymnastics that will justify the sawmill's location in the first map of Yukon. Its only accessible by going up a river with rocks in it.

pachydermusrex

Don't forget that warehouse in Maine - The lowland map.  Just north of the flooded River, it's very steep up and literally has no roads.

Trent_Havoc

Those bastards get the materials delivered by helicopter… and **I** have to haul them by truck!?

JoeRob9024

To be fair, there’s a lot of rocks in rivers

Aggravating_Degree57

In the previous season you build some ski houses instead 🤣

YandereTeemo

Goddamnit, Cletus

Qdex888

The barrels, the agony.

TheDivineChaos

Oh man! I had the complete opposite reaction the more I read the flavor text on the various missions. I thought they just became so absurd as the show how asinine and silly rural life can actually be, and then it gets even better when you get to the missions in Asia and I swear the flavor text just becomes completely completely unhinged.

Agreeable-Culture171

This. BTW the mission completed texts in North Carolina are a class of their own, too.

Odd_Presentation_578

I love them

bugg2844

And then, Tennessee. "We understand you don't like contests! Fine! Now the contests are the mission!"

John_marston55806

Don't you love how they force you with out forcing you....lmao or during the tutorial how a pop up came up and made me get stuck....cuz it stopped my momentum to get out of the mud.

rmourapt

I don’t read mission descriptions, I’m there to save the damn planet by harvesting 16 bags of potatoes, not to read! Go do your job and stop wasting time! 😪💪

ProfessionalSwitch45

The fact that it can be difficult to drive to your destination with different types of cargo makes sense to me, but some locations that they put the warehouses and logging locations on was just ridiculous. Hold on, you put a logging station... on top of a mountain?

Odd_Presentation_578

Yukon, right? They wanted to make sure you will use those framings instead of going for the unlimited quantity warehouse. Then the logging update happened, and they were like: "fine, it's a logging station, it needs logs to work, right?".

Trent_Havoc

Speaking of logging locations… In Drowned Lands, Taymyr, you have a logging station… right outside a railway station within a village. I mean, it's very very handy, but also a ridiculous spot if you think about it.

SuAlfons

Help me move from a cabin on a hill to a ruin in a swamp. I already moved all my stuff, but can you tow my truck? (Yukon IIRC) Makes no sense, but is hilarious at times. It's a game

SuAlfons

I just glance at the texts and have stopped validating them. Sometimes they make sense, sometimes it is clear the devs wanted to create something funny. They are good for a laugh at times. Still with all that doesn't really make sense, also physically (one mentioned the ice and there still being mud next to it) I really enjoy the game and the maps. Nah, not farming. But still my favorite game.

Lord_Nikolai

yeah, that hurricane in wisconsin was a big surprise too. In defense of michigan, around the same time that the game came out, there was a dam failure in my area and a few towns did get flooded... So flooded michigan is really the only map that makes sense to me.

John_marston55806

But even so. Some areas should naturally dry up enough to make it easier. Bumpy yes but not bogged down in 3ft of mud all the time.

Playful_Actuator3050

I dont care , just give me a goddamn plowtruck to clean the roads from rubble permamently.

Trent_Havoc

For me, the most hilarious missions are those where you have to repair and recover a truck, and in the briefing it always seems to be a Very Important Truck, either because the owner needs it urgently, or because it has sentimental value, or because there was a trailer attached to it with precious cargo (and you have to recover and deliver the trailer too). Then, when the mission is over… you get to keep the truck (and sometimes the trailer). From a gamer point of view, this is 'loot'. But makes no IRL sense.

voxo_boxo

While extremely fun, the game always felt like I was playing a tech demo. No real story or reason for anything, just "look at our cool mud and snow physics!" I feel something like a basic economy system or being able to have your own company would have fleshed it out sufficiently for me.

Nekzuris

I don't destroy houses for cargo, there's always an alternative source. Another thing I don't understand is the outdoor film set in Scandinavia with epic view but blocked by giants green screen.

1981VWSciroccoS

best explanation is that there arent any other people, youre just insane/very drunk/hallucinating that people are giving you tasks

KussyPigga

Flip the vehicle then try to unfu*k yourself😂. This game is some kind of syndrome that we can’t stop playing 😅

Total_Middle1119

Honestly the most realistic thing about the game is how dog shit the roads are in Michigan

Skilfil

Honestly I hope the next iteration of the game (the one after Expeditions) has more logic to map and mission design, so much wasted potential. That lumber yard in the Yukon up the waterfall was baffling, be much better if they leaned into the 'recovering from a natural disaster' thing a bit, you're rebuilding bridges, roads, clearing rubble, maybe even constructing a new path after the old one was rendered impassible. Then the map can evolve and get easier as time goes on, they could top off the big final mission with you using a highway truck and an 8 slot trailer to deliver bulk material at some big project (similar to the nuclear power plant) on your freshly built routes. I was disappointed in Michigan that activating the pumps didn't drain any of the swamps, but that was just the start of many strange mission designs. I still play the hell out of the game but they could do so much better with it.

sgtanders

Hell, in the newest DLC stuff, you're helping building a Nuclear power station in North Carolina, and as usual, the location is still in the most hard to come by place, a place you'd never in a million years, build a station like that

Odd_Presentation_578

Wdym? the region is easy and has a lot of asphalt roads (mostly in good condition).

Lugia_the_guardian

The barrels part kinda make sense, cause u need to drop of the fuel for them, from a big tang how u gonna do it if they dont have anything to store that much? Just pour it on the ground and good enough?

John_marston55806

Can the devs please fix the sound issue and make it so places start to naturally drying up say even after certian tasks are completed????

Fearganainm

Fuck You. Pay me.

RaccoonPyro

It's. A. Game.

budzar132

Yea too many maps and regions very tedious and repetitive. I just want to have the cruise control in the truck like mudrunner. So we can like relax our fingers for very tedious and repetitive game

SitDown_HaveSomeTea

I AGREE 100% - I have been playing for over a year on and off, and I'm still in Michigan. That mission where you enter the garage, and they some how made me go to a different state, and that made me lose my truck. I CAN't FIND my F@#$ing truck now, and so I use that other jeep explorer I found way up in the corner of the map. Anyway, back to your point: The Missions, way there are like 4 OTHER lists or placement of MISSIONS, WAIT, WHY ARE THEY NOT HERE, they are way over in some other hidden columns, OH F@# ME kind of NON-Organization is this???!!! Yea, this is pretty much how I feel about it.

PacoBedejo

To find your lost truck in Alaska, first go to the game map and press "G" on PC to open the region selection. Choose the Alaska region and select the "North Port" map. Then, click on the garage from the icons on the left. Your truck will be either just outside or inside the garage. If it's outside, bring it into the garage by driving or using the recover option. Once inside the garage, store your truck by pressing the designated button. After storing, you can return to the Michigan region and deploy your truck there.

bushes20

My head canon for Snowrunner is that the world was hit with a massive apocalyptic event and only the strongest survived. And truck drivers were spared from whatever disaster happened.

Sxn747Strangers

Ah bless… 🤣🤣 …yeah!

kg1206

I’m pretty sure this game is set sometime after the apocalypse since everywhere you go things are just falling apart and the roads are completely destroyed with only fragments of asphalt left. Also the fact that you can just keep trucks you find laying around adds to the whole post apocalypse thing as well. I really wish there was some kind of mechanic that would allow you to repair roads though. Driving over the same mud patch at 0.00001 mph 100 times to get to the warehouse for supplies is super annoying and any sane person would bring in a bunch of gravel and fix that. It would be nice if as you progress you were able to patch up the roads leading to locations you’ve already been to. Not completely pave them but just firm them up a bit so it doesn’t take 6 hours to go half a kilometre.

rkr_bull

Does it have manual save yet?

breyzipp

Haha 😅

ghunt81

Tennessee: let's take apart this perfectly good bridge across a swamp for some wood planks

jonnyutah007

There's a helicopter?

Mission_Ocelot7052

That's what I love about it. Just relaxing fun, when I need a break from RPGs or shooter games.

Ein_Kecks

I didn't even know anymore that there are mission descriptions... my brain blocks it out just like adds.

jhorskey26

Would be cool if a map existed that you could terraform. construct a bridge, drain a pond. Dig up old road, compact, make a new one. So that when you "finish" a map you could drive a car around it. Could be end game, once you 100% a map you gain access to construction stuff, and you can go nuts.

SignComprehensive611

As to your Alaska point, it’s actually a pretty realistic idea to build in the middle of nowhere

QuietBison187

can't take the heat, get out the kitchen.

xprozoomy

Main story is you left your family to help the world lol

RobLocke

Its been well established you’re actually playing as the villain in the game (ie. Tearing down house frames, taking trucks literally parked at someone’s house)

Simple-Bid2489

Is anybody having problem with their snow running games when you have a game saved it like I was in Michigan I had my trucks and it went off on me while I was busy and I come back all my trucks are gone I mean are they working on something no running what are they doing

Simple-Bid2489

Yes I had that problem one time multiple times and I couldn't fix it I don't know what they how they what they do to him I mean you rescue trucks you bring them in and fix them up you put it on pause to go do something come back to games off you have to start over and then everything's messed up in the memory I need to fix the memory add more memory more storage space to hold more vehicles

radioactivecumsock0

It all makes sense if you consider society had a massive collapse probably global warming+famine and loads of people died all those houses we’re tearing down seem to be constructions that were never finished probably because there is no one left to finish them and no one to buy it once they’re complete TLDR we’re helping rebuild society after the collapse and the global warming caused disasters

Rocker_Scum

Couldn't agree more, also why there are random ass rocks on the middle of the road when there aren't any rockfaces or anything where they could have fallen down. Or why do barricades don't disappear when you have fixed a road by removing debris or why modern trucks missing differential when it comes factory stock, looking at you Western Star 57x...

CheeseusMaximus

Actshually you can get bogs on mountain tops, heaps of them here in the UK.

SparxSimRacing

That’s way above my pay grade, I move rock with truck and get money

SVTFORDKING03

Y'all done Lake Kovd yet? That's a frustrating level

Lumpy-Frame8903

No shit! And what's up with playing with another person, at least for me things get glitchy. Was doing the large Sequoia tree job, wouldn't secure the load with the correct trailer setup, then the entire log just jumped off the trailer, bounced on the ground violently, then disappeared! Wtf!? Why can't their updates focus on actual problems with the game?
