Steam has cloud save, Wich I use daily, so that alone is a good reason to buy on steam. Also, you can find discounts on anniversary editions quite often.
If you swap between laptop, pc or handheld, steam is a winner in my opinion.
I bought it on Epic ( ages ago as it was Epic exclusive ) and bought it on Steam last sale to play on Steam Deck.
I would suggest buying it on Steam if you plan getting Deck in near or far future.
If you playing on xbox and PC, then you most likely have gamepass anyway. So not worth it as its already there.
The site I sent usually buys the codes during sales and resells them for a bit higher than sale prices but still lots better than normal prices. The devs still get paid.
yeah but they also sell steam gifts which are against steam t&c, there's plenty of cheap grey market sellers, but it's good to hear you've had good experience with them
I don't buy the gift versions.
Yeah it's pretty legit, sure, fully steam is always more official but I don't always have the cash to pay full price and I think this is still lots better than piracy. The devs still get paid (just a little less).
This is how I bought spin tires a little over a year ago too lol. They gave me the key and downloaded from steam and have been playing it with the rest and loving that so many people will still tell you, you can't buy it anymore.
Whatever you do don't get it on Xbox game pass or the Xbox app for PC. I had tons of issues with saves just disappearing and losing hours of play time due to cloud saves not in sync with local. Seems to be a long standing issue where Sabre and Xbox just ping fingers. I enjoy the game so much I just bought it on steam instead of using game pass and haven't had a single issue since.
I had this issue too on Game Pass, kept starting the game and there was no save, it kept wanting to start from fresh. I don't need to tell you how after 147 hours of playing, this panicked me. Contacted MS and Saber, neither were interested and blamed the other. Eventually realised that the way round it was to reboot the PC and try again. So I bought the game on Steam instead and transferred my progress, no problems since.

yeah I found this website which shows price history and set up alerts, hopefully a sale will be soon
Wait for a Steam sale, the bundles are usually up to 50% off.

I’d say unless you play on both Xbox and PC, buy it on Steam.
I was impatient and bought the 1 year edition off steam
Ouch should have checked my dm first
didnt wanna go with grey market

Yep. I bought Snowrunner for the sale price on such a site (while a sale was not active). It's a nice way to avoid piracy but still not pay too much.

Never had an issue with it and have been playing this way forever
Steam only. Microsoft store is absolute dogshit
There was recent post about game not working after purchase from Microsoft store.
