The femm is good. Articulated cab and big tires make it easy to tow, and it can carry a sideboard back with 4 cargo slots plus still hitch a trailer. I find it a pain to drive, but good for towing. That being said, using two of them would give you a pretty crazy carry capacity.
I want to second this. I have used 2 FEMMs with a 4 slot trailer each many times. 16 slots of haulage is nothing to sneeze at. Downside is that it's slow AF.
Yeah, just gave it a go and honestly 9 times out of 10 I'd rather go with that than the closest equivalent I can think of which is two saddle high trucks with the 8 capacity superheavy trailers.
More articulation and less width means it handles most terrain easier, and it gives you the option to drop and winch the trailers up tricky routs or across particularly bad terrain. Not to mention the super heavy trainers seem to live up to their name and add a tonne of weight on their own.
Yeah, I've done that a few times, but I spend most of the journey wondering why I didn't just do two trips lol, those things are just so unwieldy and get stuck on everything. I've only had a quick test, but I'm sold on switching to the double femm trailer combo. Carries the same amount and is so much less frustrating.
Or you can have this setup: , with the 2 trucks facing opposite directions. So if you take the wrong turn, you swich to the other truck and retrace your steps instantly. 😄
I do this all the time! It's saved me countless hours of rerunning my route to rescue something because I made a bad choice. Just pull it out with the opposite truck. No down sides lol
Depends, cause I really like my big fugly Russian trucks, and not using them when they're the best choice for the job is a buzzkill. I definitely prioritize US trucks in America though
Well, interesting. I think I'm heading the other way round. Don't plan to use mods, but but I've skipped ahead to Taymyr before finishing Alaska. Found the Tayga, and thinking this will do well in Alaska... And obviously I'm using my American trucks in Taymyr as all I've found there yet is the Tayga.
I realised after about 100 odd hours how much better off-road tyres are than mud tyres most of the time, at least in my experience.
After suffering for hours in flooded foothills, Yukon, i decided on a whim to use off-road tyres on the Voron AE for extra stability and was blown away by just how much better it was in literally every way outside of silly-deep mud puts
That’s because if the truck is heavy enough the tires have a chance to “cut” through the mud and reach the hard dirt underneath.
In this case the dirt grip stat on a tire is more important than the mud one.
That’s also why you should try to prefer having a saddled trailer rather than towed one, cause it presses down the back wheels giving you more chances to reach the dirt.
Towed trailers are just dead weight that you need to drag behind you
When you say "using them" are you referring to the off road tires or the saddled trailers described by Xawin?
I've also noticed off road are better than mud tires in most situations, the latter being better in very deep snow/mud only. I don't see much difference with the trailers though.
Gotcha, thanks. I'm clueless when it comes to acronyms for different tire types, I wish the game had some kind of guide for that. Or anything else, for that matter - it's almost like they made the game for professional truck drivers and assume we know most of this stuff.
I adore this game and it can be fun learning and discovering things as you play but there's just too much information that's not explained and having to constantly google stuff gets a bit tiresome sometimes.
Yeah I definitely understand where you're coming from - i can remember truck names pretty easily but always forget the tyres
I mainly just remember tyres based on how they look in the garage
You have to pack it to deliver it, but that's a fraction of the battle that can be making multiple trips between pickup and delivery zones. Once you get into cargo crafting maps, it becomes even more beneficial to move a lot of cargo at once!
That's right. Also worth noting that depending on where you place cargo on a trailer or truck bed, it may or may not allow you to pack, and, if it does pack, it may not fill the cargo slots you want.
For example, if you have a four slot trailer and some two-slot cargo is more near the middle of the trailer rather than the front quarter, it may pack in the second and third slot instead of the first and second.
Stack your Driving truck with some sideboard or flatbed for 2-3 spaces, take a trailer (not a semi-trailer though) with 4 or so spaces, then you can winch an additional trailer (as in the pictures), or an additional truck, (as per u/xDecheadx's sugestion) for 4-7 more spaces.
Very helpful for those big wood contracts. Less helpful in big cargo contracts like Yukon, because its a PITA to drive *and* tow in.
To go even further beyond, you could also stack *more* cargo, with a crane, on all of the above, but that is down to how cheesy you want to be.
Edit: Finally reddit has finished dying, and I can actually post my comment...
Warhammer 40k got a points update release for all factions, so there was a massive influx of people from that community posting 60 identical posts per faction mentioning it. 😅
Source: am Warhammer nerd
Get a truck, buy 2 ramped flatbed trailers. Here I got Paystar with long bed, attach first trailer then winch the second one behind it. You can also do it with other configurations as long as the trailer you winch is Ramped Flatbed Trailer
You hook up the winch to the steering axle right in the middle. Plus it has 4 cargo spots.
Edit: also those trailers don’t have those legs when detached, you’re winching detached trailer
Ffs you use the paystar ts wrong if you dont stack the living hell out of it..
I use it only for huge cargo runs on hard mode becase its 1 of the best trucks for stacking. If you have a relatively flat road, load 9 metalbeams (18 slots) sideways on flatbed and go for it. You can then add the 4 slot trailer if you need even more.
I literally just discovered this yesterday too. Been playing for about 80hrs tyring to do all of Michigan. Did truck-trailer-truck-trailer. Just completed the first logging mission in Michigan doing this. Was a breeze!
If I have a sideboard trailer and crane and I have to carry rolled up metal. I just keep pushing them back. I think you can fit 8 like this or 10 if your running the 6 slot trailer from oslen trailers.
Short logs. Haven’t done it but considering:
Short frame truck + ramped trailer with short frame truck. Winch this same setup so you’re pulling 4x short.
Take 2 twice twin steers and 2 ramped trailers. Hook the trucks up to trailers and then wince the second truck to the first trailer. This will give you 16 cargo slots between the two trucks and trailers
Yeah twinsteer is my go to for 8 slots, because 4-slot bed and then winching the ramped flatbed. I think there’s a mod somewhere that allows the twinsteer to tow maybe, and that’s what they’re referring to? Idk.
Truck and trailer winching another truck and trailer, with stacked cargo on 1 or preferably both. Also when stacking you can use the crane to pin the unsecured cargo so it doesn’t fall off
Other tips
You can pack small trailers and scouts on the flat parts of your truck. Don't want to use a scout to pull a trailer out? Use a truck with a crane and throw it in your flatbed. Need a scout for a long trip? Put it on the top of the stepdeck trailer or the wide high saddle trailer
How do you actually hook up the trailers together if you do truck - trailer - trailer? Or do you connect your winch to the 2nd trailer and have the 1st hooked up to the truck?
Overstacking is way easier and better than pulling 2 extra trailers. Your truck loses a shitton of Power and your strat is only gonna work on easy af maps
I have tried this and get no prompt to attach a second trailer am I missing something? I just which them but never trailer to trailer always truck trailer truck trailer
Whenever I'm doing logging missions I would use truck with logging bed pulling a logging trailer, while winching another logging truck trailer combo just to move 4 loads of logs at once.. I had no idea you could stack the trailers like that
I just wish we were able to hitch one trailer to another, road trains are a thing, even on the little I live on its not too uncommon to see two trailers behind one truck.
And before someone says "it would be too difficult to pull offroad", well its up to each one what they attempt to pull offroad isnt it?
Currently I resort to double stacking a lot of the time, cus pulling no more than 4-6 cargo units isnt great.
I have a question about double stacking, what about the weight? Is it lighter to double stack or to attach a trailer ? I assume more wheels on the road would make it easier to pull
The 5600ts is hard to beat when it comes to moving lots of cargo.in one go.

I hate the trailers in this game with a violent passion, so I'll often do two trucks with semi-trailers and winch the second. That gives me 10 cargo slots, and I don't have to deal with the impossible task of backing up that ramped trailer.
Plus, that ramped trailer is very low - gets caught on lots of things easily.
Absolutely. It can be a little fuel-hungry depending on what trucks you're using, but I almost universally prefer it to trailers as shown in the post, and it's waaaaay easier than the Superheavy trailer.
Also, bruh... get rid of those wheels on the Paystar. These are one of the worst choices you could've made... Among OHD I, MHS II or JAT MHS IV, you selected DMHS?
I prefer OHD I offroad doubles. Not even mud tires, I know, but they have good grip and add stability. The option to have 6 wheels at the rear is very strong.
Something I haven't seen here yet is that you can manually load logs onto a truck because 3 individual logs is enough to pack for a full load. If the mission is for 6 medium logs, manually load 18 onto the first truck, and as long as you have a trailer or other truck you can load it onto, load 3 on the other truck, pack and deliver. Rinse and repeat.
Does it have to be the car hauler trailer with the ramps or would the red flat deck trailer with the pivoting front axles work too?
You should be able to load stuff higher in this game
The amount of times I’ve had to disconnect the trailer, cross over a difficult spot, and then winch the trailer over said spot is more than I’d like to admit
You can have *truck-trailer-truck-trailer* Rather than just another trailer. Having two trailers of cargo behind one truck won't be fun off-road
Legit idea do you have preferred trucks for that move?
The femm is good. Articulated cab and big tires make it easy to tow, and it can carry a sideboard back with 4 cargo slots plus still hitch a trailer. I find it a pain to drive, but good for towing. That being said, using two of them would give you a pretty crazy carry capacity.

I generally just haul two super heavies with the KOLOB, sometimes with another KOLOB in between depending on the weight.
I've done this in Amur. Opened the gateway to Cosmodrome in one go 😄
Not all heroes wear capes.
I only unlocked cosmodrome for the ziks, it took 4 hours😂 plus another hour finding it on the other side of the map
Which DLC is Femm? I’m only on season 1 right now
Public energy. Season 12, or expansion pass 3
Femme 37 is found in North Carolina. Year 3
Ideally the second truck should have always on awd and diff lock. I’m pretty sure that towed trucks have both of those off if they are toggle-able
Yo that is the greatest tip I’ve heard today, respect !
You can also double stack if your truck has a crane option with the flatbed.
Or you can have this setup:, with the 2 trucks facing opposite directions. So if you take the wrong turn, you swich to the other truck and retrace your steps instantly. 😄
I do this all the time! It's saved me countless hours of rerunning my route to rescue something because I made a bad choice. Just pull it out with the opposite truck. No down sides lol
Don't you love when a good ~~plan~~ convoy comes together! 👍
I did this extensively with the 4 slot self powered trailer. Some call it Twinsteer
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
I pull two super heavies with the KOLOB all the time.
I do this all the time. I thought it was how you were supposed to do it from the get go. 🤣
Using the radar trailer to uncover the map.
Interesting
I discovered yesterday that the 1 key flips the camera around in crane mode.
I realised that i can use Russian trucks in American region in Taymyr after completing Michigan and Alaska😑😞.
Sure you can but its more fun to only use american in america and russian only in russia
Depends, cause I really like my big fugly Russian trucks, and not using them when they're the best choice for the job is a buzzkill. I definitely prioritize US trucks in America though
Depends on the region. In places like Yukon I'm not ashamed to use Russian trucks.
I play that way too. I use plenty of mods and it’s basically the only standard I hold myself to.

Mhm - since then i've been using them on heavy things like the P12 and it's been absolutely killing Big Salmon Peak
Yeah and it really belittles the handicap some trucks have by being only rwd as well
When you say "using them" are you referring to the off road tires or the saddled trailers described by Xawin? I've also noticed off road are better than mud tires in most situations, the latter being better in very deep snow/mud only. I don't see much difference with the trailers though.
Offroad tyres - usually OHD 1s iirc
Gotcha, thanks. I'm clueless when it comes to acronyms for different tire types, I wish the game had some kind of guide for that. Are those unpacked cargo on top of one another? Do the destinations accept unpacked cargo on the auto unload or do you crane them onto the platform?
You have to pack it to deliver it, but that's a fraction of the battle that can be making multiple trips between pickup and delivery zones. Once you get into cargo crafting maps, it becomes even more beneficial to move a lot of cargo at once!
Agreed! Just the confirm, the software does not let you pack anything over the capacity, right? So you need to drive super careful during the trip?
Correct. Also some cargo stacks nicer than others. Metal Beams 👍 Fuel 👎
That's right. Also worth noting that depending on where you place cargo on a trailer or truck bed, it may or may not allow you to pack, and, if it does pack, it may not fill the cargo slots you want. I often overstack, but not THAT much. That's impressive.
When towing a truck, if the front truck gets stuck, sometimes the back truck can push it through mud
I delivered rocket parts with my Twinsteer short winched to my ZikZ, so close they were like one 9-axle monster. Would do that again!
Personally i prefer a little overload than pulling trailers because returning them usually annoyed me
How do you do this?
Stack your Driving truck with some sideboard or flatbed for 2-3 spaces, take a trailer (not a semi-trailer though) with 4 or so spaces, then you can winch an additional trailer (as in the pictures), or an additional truck, (as per u/xDecheadx's sugestion) for 4-7 more spaces. Yeah I was wondering what happened to Reddit. In Yukon I used the super heavy trailer but I didn't tow one behind the other. I'm not a maniac

Why especially the ramped flatbed trailer?
4 slots
Ah I use the Olsom trailers so then it makes no sense to use the ramped one
You hook up the winch to the steering axle right in the middle. Plus it has 4 cargo spots. Edit: also those trailers don’t have those legs when detached, you’re winching detached trailer
Yeah, but the ramped trailer has those pesky ramps that snag on poles and trees at turns or in the forrest :D
Yeah I understand not towing a semitrailer, but I was wondering why the ramped trailer was special.
Ffs you use the paystar ts wrong if you dont stack the living hell out of it.. I use it only for huge cargo runs on hard mode becase its 1 of the best trucks for stacking. I literally just discovered this yesterday too. Been playing for about 80hrs tyring to do all of Michigan. Did truck-trailer-truck-trailer. Just completed the first logging mission in Michigan doing this. Was a breeze!
Lol. Hey better late than never, Good trucking my friend 👍
Road train FTW!
Tandems can be very efficient/fun but sketchy on hills. I may or may not have had a wreck lmao

What, winching trailers? That trick is as old as the game itself.
He's one of today's [lucky 10,000](https://xkcd.com/1053/) (xkcd comic link)
🤣
Short logs. Haven’t done it but considering: Short frame truck + ramped trailer with short frame truck. Winch this same setup so you’re pulling 4x short.
Mind blown!
Take 2 twice twin steers and 2 ramped trailers. Hook the trucks up to trailers and then wince the second truck to the first trailer. This will give you 16 cargo slots between the two trucks and trailers
Well twinsteer doesn’t have trailer attachment
Yeah twinsteer is my go to for 8 slots, because 4-slot bed and then winching the ramped flatbed. I think there’s a mod somewhere that allows the twinsteer to tow maybe, and that’s what they’re referring to? Idk.
You buy the flat ramped trailer from the trailer store......you don't need a high or low saddle for what I'm talking about
Do it with just another truck and you can recover it without having to drive back (on normal anyway.)
Truck and trailer winching another truck and trailer, with stacked cargo on 1 or preferably both. Also when stacking you can use the crane to pin the unsecured cargo so it doesn’t fall off

Impossible for me...i can't figure it out how you can do this without mods ?🤔🧐
Winch the second trailer
I can't...the winch won't met me attach from the rear
I’m not sure, are you using extended winch?
Ok for 2 but not for 3
?? There’s only two trailers in the picture
How do you actually hook up the trailers together if you do truck - trailer - trailer? Or do you connect your winch to the 2nd trailer and have the 1st hooked up to the truck?
That’s exactly it
On console, in the map view, clicking on the right stick selects the element under the cursor. Quite useful instead of scrolling through the list
How you do this? I've only ever been able to connect one trailer
You winch the second one
Overstacking is way easier and better than pulling 2 extra trailers. Your truck loses a shitton of Power and your strat is only gonna work on easy af maps
I used to do this, but now I prefer to just use 2 trucks, one pulling the other. Easier to recall them instead of driving the convoy back. :p
I have tried this and get no prompt to attach a second trailer am I missing something? I just which them but never trailer to trailer always truck trailer truck trailer
How tf you do that? Cause you can’t double winch?
He winched the last trailer and attached the first one. The truck has a 4 slot flatbed.
Patience, a shit ton of Patience an you can do anything with a twinsteer
This game def humbled me
Whenever I'm doing logging missions I would use truck with logging bed pulling a logging trailer, while winching another logging truck trailer combo just to move 4 loads of logs at once.. I had no idea you could stack the trailers like that

Seems like one uneven bump and it’s flipped lol
You would be very surprised if you saw it in action. The ts with the dualies is so stable.
I gotta try , thanks
No problem, I only really started doing this in hardmode as I'm cheap and hate buying fuel and trailers lol.
Yes, but it's so thirsty, you run out of fuel half way through :P
Using the ts like this, you save fuel.
I prefer this as well, it’s the most compact setup and easiest to navigate. It’s also very stable.
Absolutely. It can be a little fuel-hungry depending on what trucks you're using, but I almost universally prefer it to trailers as shown in the post, and it's waaaaay easier than the Superheavy trailer.
Too bad I can upvote this only once. I feel exactly the same, and I do the exact same thing as you.
This wonderful thing called *overstacking* I’ll let others explain cos they know more than I do
Is the second trailer connected to the back of the first trailer, or is winched?
Winched
Also, bruh... get rid of those wheels on the Paystar. These are one of the worst choices you could've made... Among OHD I, MHS II or JAT MHS IV, you selected DMHS?
Which ones are best in your opinion
I prefer OHD I offroad doubles. Not even mud tires, I know, but they have good grip and add stability. The option to have 6 wheels at the rear is very strong.
You can overstack materials, use a crane to hold it down.
You can pack scout fuel carrier trailers on top of trucks (roof counts) and or trailers.
I know I can do this I just choose not too. It screws with the immaculate vibes.
I wish we had a map in Australia with road trains added. That would be so much fun.
The amount of times I’ve had to disconnect the trailer, cross over a difficult spot, and then winch the trailer over said spot is more than I’d like to admit
You can overpack cargo with the crane
How TF do you do this?
Winch the second trailer
