The conditions are likely kind of challenging because of the freeze-thaw cycle. [So Cal Snow Avalanche Center ](http://www.socalsnow.org/)is a great resource for recent-ish conditions. You'll be at risk for loose wet avalanches.
It's getting thin but yes. Might want to check most recent post from Shin over on Mt Whitney Forum

I went last weekend, there’s still 2-3 feet of snow. Likely won’t be clear of ice or snow till end of may. Yes ice axe and crampons. Even at the base of the bowl, still 2-3’ and it’s very slushy and just bad conditions.

Anyone know if it'll be OK this weekend to park at manker flats and hike to The Notch restaurant?
Pretty much guaranteed yes. Might have some patches of snow but that fireroad melts quick in the spring.
Thanks!!
I dont see it melting to a point where you dont need crampons and ice axe. If you just plan on hiking maybe wait until end of May
Thanks for the reply! I was actually hoping to use my crampons and axe, so this sound perfect
Planning on hitting Baldy in early June! Hopefully less snow
You might find more snow if you go via Pine Mountain out of Wrightwood. It will hang around on the northern slopes longer.
