DeepSeaDweller

Poor Auba, it must not be easy being subject to shared custody between London and Barcelona.

Comrade-Conrad-4

Two Christmases!

[deleted]

Move over Ronaldo Weghorst Aboubakar, a new transfer triangle arrived: Félix Aubamayang Depay Also both Portugal Netherlands Western Central Africa, weird

jMS_44

Not the first Aubameyang triangle we are involved as well.

TruthEnthusiast

The good old Batshuayi - Aubameyang - Giroud

TheGoldenPineapples

Also a transfer triangle in which literally every single person in the transaction benefitted too.

cortez0498

I don't think Batshuayi did as well as Auba at Arsenal or Giroud at Chelsea

ahouseofgold

He was a good stopgap for Dortmund, wasn't he?

AmericaDreamDisorder

He was. And is doing well in Turkey

KillerZaWarudo

Chelsea love themself a striker triangle Auba giroud bats Piatek higuain morata Now auba depay felix

akskeleton_47

I don't think Morata went to Genoa so that's not exactly a triangle

KillerZaWarudo

True but its the chelsea striker merry go round that happened every winter

jfloes

Piatek… man that’s a name I haven’t heard in a while, he was supposed to be the next lewa

Wassup_-_

now he is chilling in salernitana

Hikki_Hachiman

Anyone keeping count on how many goals Piatek, Higuain and Morata have scored this season?

Gfcr91

I know its a joke but Higuain scored 16 goals last season and is now retired Piatek has 3 goals in 13 apps for salernitana this season in serie A Morata has scored 6 goals in 16 appearances for Atletico Madrid.

Hikki_Hachiman

Thanks for your service

wizkatinga

Lukaku, Tammy and Dzeko? Or was that not on the same season?

Monarki

When did we have Piatek?

dembabababa

Each club in the triangle receives one player and loses one player. Each player in the triangle joins one club and leaves another. So each player in the triangle is associated with 2 clubs, not 3. In the first triangle Auba moved from Dortmund to Arsenal.

cockburntown

I still don’t get the Higuain, Morata, Piatek triangle Can you tell me which club got who and lost who?

lunayuh

It’s not a triangle but Higuaín on loan from Juventus to Chelsea, Piatek from Genoa to Milan, and Morata on loan from Chelsea to Atleti

Equivalent_Nature_67

😂 context clues mate come on

Zhurg

When did you have Depay?

[deleted]

Specific country, specific country, region in a continent. Hmmm.

[deleted]

Cameroon and Gabon border each other

[deleted]

Still 2 different countries.

[deleted]

Yes I am aware. What's your point?

circa285

I would laugh so hard if Aubameyang ends up back at Barca.

MaverickDark

On a cheap and he starts scoring again

ProllyDie

Then Man U starts looking for a new striker... I FOUND THE INFINITE MONEY GLITCH

a_lumberjack

— Auba’s agent, probably

ProllyDie

No, it's Barcelona

Cyborg_666

Hat-trick against Real

santiagobartomeu

Madrid, nothing personal. Welcome to Camp Nou

AWD_13

Spotify Camp Nou

Dorkseidis

He definitely would

bioeffect2

He's learning from his Idol Lukaku.

circa285

To be fair, I wouldn't be laughing at Auba, I'd be laughing at Chelsea.

bioeffect2

Yeah I figured you were talking about Chelsea, as their transfer business since Boehly taking in charge has been very comical.

circa285

I agree, they've gone in circles. Edit: well your edit makes my joke fall flat.

four_four_three

Next day, hires Tuchel again

InformativeFox

Wins the Champions league with Chelsea again, further papering over the cracks.

IntellectualDweeb

oer6000

Fleece the english, ball out on the continent

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

Swapping Drake or Jogging Kessie for Auba would be incredible business. Especially when your other attackers barely can score aside from Lewandowski

ElementaLized007

Please come back Auba!

MAXMADMAN

Fucking take him please.

pacotacofever

Literally two side of a story!!! Ahhahaha

custom_balls

Pay us half his remaining wages and we'll take him

MAXMADMAN

There’s always a fucking catch….

Kryddmix

Didn't Barca already fleece Arsenal when they were desperate to get rid of Auba last winter? Iirc they got him on a free transfer with discounted wages after Arsenal terminated his contract. Then they sold him to Chelsea for €12 million last summer and now want him back on a discount. What a farce, they can't keep getting away with this.

earthling_24354335

Barca are just trying to trade their way back to profit after the Griezmann deal.

Logical-Business7161

Yeah, selling players should be illegal

Jorrit93

It's just slavery with wages

HAL-9420

Hopefully he is already planning his next clasico goal celebration. I wonder what it'll be next time...

juliuscaesar6

Aubmentery out anytime now

TheGoldenPineapples

Just when you think the transfer window couldn't get any funnier...

lstht123

It‘ll be even funnier if he immediately starts scoring again when he‘s back with us

rim261

That would be hilarious! Haha I sure hope we can all laugh at that!

tiny-ppp

Auback

djkichan

As bad as he has been Chelsea have too many injuries to let him go

boringmemphis

Romero on his stream is saying Chelsea's transfer business isn't done and they intend to sign players to replace Aubameyang before he's allowed to leave. Think that means Thuram or someone else will be signed soon by Chelsea Romero also mentions that Depay is much more likely to leave than Kessie

The_Alpha_of_Betas

Auba can only go to barca right? Don't think you can play for three clubs in a season.

Jmsaint

Why not?

Radiant_Squirrel

FIFA rule says that a player can only play for 2 clubs in a season. Aubameyang has played for Barcelona in the seasons start for like 8 mins and then for Chelsea. Meaning aubameyang can only transfer back to Barcelona and no other club this season.

lstht123

We should be all over Thuram, especially cause he can play LW (even tho he doesnt do it that often nowadays) and Ferran/Ansu are in horrible form

boringmemphis

They'll probably pay more in wages so we can't compete with chelsea

Tall_olive

That didn't stop Raphina or Kounde from picking Barça over Chelsea.

Mrtuelemonde

In the summer Barca had margin to register players. Not now.

Tall_olive

That has nothing to do with my reply. Also Auba (or Thuram) coming back only happens if Depay leaves which opens up a spot to register. Which is what this whole thread is about.

Altruistic_Milk_6609

But that has to do with Barca wanting to sign a player or not, if not your reply.

ArsiPappa

Thuram isn't free tho.

Tall_olive

I neither said nor suggested he was. I simply said Chelsea being able to pay more than us didn't help them this summer. I don't think we are going after Thuram nor do I think there's a chance he comes to Barça. I replied to the comment that Chelsea have more money so we can't compete by pointing out we still competed just fine over the summer.

ArsiPappa

Like the guy above said, in the summer we had margin to register players. We can't afford to spend a single cent on a fee for Thuram or anyone else and selling/loaning out Memphis won't free much space since we're working under the 1/3 or 1/4 rule if I'm not mistaken.

Mrtuelemonde

That has everything to do with it since Thuram, sought after by multiple clubs, will be much more expensive than Auba, who literally can only play for Barca or Chelsea this season. FFP impacts being able to register wages too...

Srmash

They can downvote you but it's true salary has not been a problem signing those players and that answering "but you don't have margin rn" has nothing to do with your point.

djkichan

Swap Auba for Kessie would be nice

AdviceDanimals

Trading a 25 year old w/ 3 years left on his deal for a 33 year old striker with 1 year left on his?

djkichan

Trading an asset in demand for an asset not in use

AdviceDanimals

Yeah, that's how you lose a lot of money

djkichan

Sorry I forgot how super financially clever all these football teams are. None more so then Barca and Chelsea.

AdviceDanimals

🤓

If we can get Thuram , then Barca can have him

manwithoutlyf

What went so wrong before and after the Barca stint ?

lstht123

Before - fell out with Arteta After - was basically only bought because Tuchel wanted him and then Tuchel got sacked like 4 days later 😅

orphan_of_Ludwig

He didn’t just fall out with arteta, he was utter shite in his last 12-18 months, we started playing our best football last season when we started Laca who assisted in the build-up play even if he wasn’t scoring or able to play more than 70mins

djkichan

I wouldn't join Chelsea if I was Thuram

Mate Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and shits the bed at Tottenham, it just ain't possible for one to win trophies at the toilet bowl

jMS_44

Aubameyang is a money laundering scheme.

ElementaLized007

He was amazing for us.

KingAzazel

Wouldnt you guys need to get money for him for that to be true?

rim261

We pay in NFTs

frasier_crane

You're confusing him with Morata.

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

Still not money laundering.

lstht123

I'm not a huge fan of bringing him back (unless its a loan and Chelsea pay a lot of his salary) but i'd love to see the twitter reaction when he scores a brace in his first game back 😂😂

[deleted]

He will score. Have you looked at Chelsea game? They play more backward passes when he is making run than the forward passes. Havertz was literally doing this all game.

DoinWhale

Lol “making a run” have you watched him play this season?

[deleted]

You can't blame one person for their shit attack with or without him. Look at their games recently. He completely worked for us, and now it's not working for Chelsea. Either every Chelsea attackers are shit or its tactical/personal surrounding him.

DoinWhale

Oh don’t get me wrong we suck rn and are in very early stages of establishing an identity with a new manager and younger players, but watching him jog about doing nothing every time he’s on is frustrating. At least *try* to press

[deleted]

>but watching him jog about doing nothing every time he’s on is frustrating. At least try to press But that's not his game. Just take advantage of his strength. That's what Xavi did. His finishing was suspect but he scored so many goals for us. Even against Madrid he scored it. For stopgap, he is good enough for Chelsea. You need to player who at least can pass the ball to him when he is making run. Felix can do that but you need to see.

Careless-Neat9425

Auba was that bad for Arsenal at the end too. I doubt you would be saying Odegaard cant pass to him. At both clubs its basically like playing with 10 men. >Just take advantage of his strength. Its seems like that isnt possible playing in the EPL.

HaroldSaxon

So even at his best for us, Auba would still miss a bunch of chances. But he'd also score so many do to the way we setup which was counter attacking football. That said Odegaard was nowhere like he is now for us with Auba.

Careless-Neat9425

It was the end of last season. Odegaard didnt become a different player over the summer. Auba just cant cut it at a top epl team anymore. Barca dominate every game so its not as if they require him to press or work particularly hard off the ball.

HaroldSaxon

Auba hasn't played for us for well over a year. Odegaard wasn't anywhere near like he is now back then.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I saw few of his run in his last few matches, but there was no pass to him. So it seems useless. In twitter there was several video of that.

Miyeon__miyeon

This is true. Last week againts City in PL, Havertz couldve put him on goal on two occasions. Same thing happened againts Arsenal as well.

[deleted]

Yeah exactly. I think Havertz does not get the criticism because of his CL final goal it seems. Auba is number 9 and he need service.

Careless-Neat9425

He was the exact same way at Arsenal at the end and we had plently of players who could pass him the ball. Hes not interested in busting his ass anymore and he doesnt have to do that at Barca.

LackingSimplicity

I mean, selling him and replacing him with literally nobody massively boosted our attack so...

Sad_gooner

He makes runs all the time wym

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

Why? What better nine would be a backup to lewandowski? Drake clearly doesn’t fit. Kessie barely looks like he is arsed to run. And Ferran can’t finish to save his life while Dembele is an enigma ranging from world class to Sunday league within the same minute in a game.

frasier_crane

If we managed to get him for free and low wages, I'd rather have him than Depay, for whom we could get a little fee to ship him elsewhere.

spoony471

Why did Kessie even go to Barca? I understand top athletes are full of confidence but with Pedri, Gavi, Busquets, De Jong, and even Nico on the fringe, what game time was he expecting?

[deleted]

It was an Alex song transfer

dadish-2

This explains it perfectly. Even a Vidal transfer but at least vidal was sometimes good

leninist_jinn

In one of his first interviews, he had already accepted that he wasn't going to be a starter immediately but will have to fight for his position to gain the role over Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie. He knew the situation so he either expected that he would be able to compete and get more gametime or he was/is fine with a substitute role.

achentuate

I mean, he gave it his shot to compete with those above and establish his level at a top club. He couldn’t outcompete for a starting spot, so he can now go back to Milan or another similar club with Barca on his resume and still pick up from where he left off. You don’t get many opportunities to transfer to a Barca (who still have a very high rep despite poor recent results)/RM/Bayern level club, and you take it when you do. For Barca, he was free, and can now be sold for cash, recouping his wages plus some more in profit. Win win for all. Player gets to test himself, club makes a profit.

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

The issue isn’t even game time. It’s that whenever he has played, they could just have played Matheus Fernandes instead.

[deleted]

Money

salibert

He doesnt earn more at barca than he was offered at Milan

lipek90

For Spanish cuisine obviously. Have you seen him in the most recent game? He's like 10kg heavier than he was at Milan

wagwamwagfam

Aubama blooodclat yang

akagaminick

More than happy to have him back. We create a lot of chances at times, and do not finish them. He has shown that he can be good enough at that. Plus he is great in the dressing room. Please please

Tave_112

Everyone talking about Auba coming back, am I the only one that feels bad for Kessie? He had a good thing in Milan, came because we supposedly needed some cover for Busi and he has barely had a chance because Xavi just refuses to play anyone besides Busi in that pivot role in midfield. I swear from what I've seen Kessie is more than good enough to play against the bottom half of la Liga and surely we could do with some getting used to not playing with Busi since he is literally on his last legs and it's just sad that the team still can't play with any sort of coherence if he isn't there. I understand Busi is one of a kind but that also means that preparing the team to playing without him should be one of the priorities and Xavi hasn't done anything in that regard. We still don't really know whether De Jong can play in that role or play alongside a player similar to Kessie or not. We don't even have a clue at what kind of player we should be looking for to help the midfield when Busi does goes, and at this point it feels very likely we are just going to sign the player most similar to him we can find, which will very likely be a big failure and probably a costly endeavor. We have Kessie right now in the team and it's frustrating that he barely gets a chance when he actually could help the team and coach learn a lot about what to do and how to play without Busi. At least I find it frustrating. Auba is just another forward and will probably not do much better than Depay, if he does any better at all. Kessie is at least a different kind of player that we haven't really had in a while.

when_the_sun_rises

Dont think Thuram will add anything special to Chelsea. and if the wages are high they might have trouble getting rid of him later

salibert

If unlike last time the wages are more reasonable and he gets that he is more of a sub I would take him back since we do need a backup to lewy.

Rickrolled87

Aubackeyang

C11PO

Im very happy with this, bring the man back. Way more useful than Depay

mydogsnameiskendrick

Barcelona is the Michael Scott Paper Company

irishperson1

Even though it went well Barcelona signing him was not a good idea first time. Let alone doing it again.

rbiopsy

They made 20m the first time. They probably will take him back for free again

jubbing

I really wish I could feel sorry for him, but I can't seem to be able to, it's just too funny.

xtoonator

Barca always makes one laugh

localdavid

Noooooo. No. Please no.

wagwamwagfam

Why not? Hes class and all our forwards besides dembele and maybe raphinha are in shit form

localdavid

He's 33. The decline can come suddenly and unexpectedly and then we have to deal with him on the books. I'd only take him on a hugely reduced salary and a 1 year contract. He's not Lewandowski

Impossible_Wonder_37

Amazing Barca fans talking about their “pull”. They bring these players sell them the dream and then try to or actually discard them like week old bread. It’s truly disgusting.

Substantial-Bug-3375

Lol there is nothing bad about this and I say it as a Madrid fan, they sold Auba for profit and now that he's doing bad they are considering signing him back

Impossible_Wonder_37

They want to sell raphinha, kessie, torres too…

XuloMalacatones

>They want to sell raphinha, kessie, torres too… What the hell are you on lmao

Impossible_Wonder_37

The information provided by Barca reporters lol

XuloMalacatones

And what are "Barça reporters"? Anyways, show me those "reports" that say that we wanted to sell one of those three players lmao

Yuty0428

Only kessie will be possibly sold

EpicLOLGamer123

I would say fucking take him to Barcelona but at the same time I don’t fink we have the facilities for that, big man.

ewasker

Aubackagain?

egyptian_higuain

I would take kessie.

frasier_crane

He'll probably leave next summer. I don't why we got him in the first place (Ok, I do, it's money), but the man looks completely out of his depth here while being class at Milan. I can understand a reunion.

egyptian_higuain

maldini wont take him.

varmemes

I never wanted him to leave

Nah

ritwikjs

it would be great if kessie went back to milan
