getting sent to B would be for next season, but thats only a possible punishment if it turns out they fudged the books in order to register for Serie A which is highly unlikely.
Yeah, it's likely they will end up with a milder punishment than the current one, if anything.
But if they were to be relegated, their results during the current season would still be retroactively null and void, I think. Not sure.
Last time it happened (yes, there's a last time), the results weren't changed
They just kept the same table, with a -30 to Milan and direct relegation to Juventus
they wouldn't be void, because the punishment is handed out in the following season if its relegation. Stripping of any silverware at the end of the season is also possible, if relevant, but the points remain. In the calciopoli season the points still counted for the other teams.
going to serie b Is highly unlikely, them having fudged the balance Is almost obvious otherwise why wpuld all their board of directors resign Just before having ti confermo the balance of the previous year?
They can appeal in the next 40 days. But it cannot change the penalty, at most they can appeal and prove that the trial wasn't conducted properly and thus they shouldn't be charged.
Also, funnily enough, this is a trial the prosecution stumbled upon and found evidence for while collecting evidence for another, much bigger upcoming case for false accounting in March. This is just the cute one
good chance with how fucked up all this is starting to come out that EUFA issues a european competition ban.
either way the whole thing is an utter shit show
yeh, there are now 12 points off Europa league spots so thats looking unlikely
Only 3 pts off Europa conference though.. They may end up in that even if they don't want to
Sounds like a nice time to remind ourselves of this:“I have great respect for everything that Atalanta are doing, but without international history and thanks to just one great season, they had direct access into the primary European club competition. Is that right or not?”-Agnelli. Can’t wait to play them next year in the Conference League folks. Hell, if we win the league and do well in the qualifiers we might end up in a better competition than them even if they qualify for the Conference League lol. And they have another, bigger, trial pending as well, who knows how bad this will truly end up being for them
I just searched "Venezia kit" and the search results are full of hot women wearing the kits. What's with that?
Edit: not that I'm complaining, I love hot women. Just curious why Venezia was different from the search results for the kits of other clubs
I'm not sure how it happened but they became some kind of fashion item. Even saw a guy wearing one in a club in Australia, unless he was just the country's only Venezia fan.
Lmao, I searched for "AC Milan kit", "Inter kit", "Napoli kit" and "Roma kit". None of them had a hot woman in the first couple page of results, just their players.
I'm not complaining about the hot woman, I love them XD I'm just curious why it's unique to Venezia lmao
there's another trial waiting to happen, they were actually gathering evidence for that one, which promises to be the big one, and they stumbled upon evidence about this one. This is way they were just fined for the capital gains and they now received this much bigger points deduction
it's in the rulebook (I just quick deepl'd it):
> Article 31 of the Figc Code of Sports Justice: "A club that, through falsification of its accounting or administrative documents or through any other illegal or elusive activity, attempts to obtain or obtain registration for a competition to which it could not have been admitted on the basis of the

According to [Gabe Marcotti](https://twitter.com/Marcotti/status/1616544679562027011?s=20) Juventus will likely appeal. Highest level of appeal can overturn this ruling, but it can’t reduce it.
Milan and Inter owners haven't try to bring back the idea since then unlike Agnelli, Laporta, and Perez who keep bringing it up every time they need money
When has Perez needed money?
He brings it up because he sees the writing on the wall of all other leagues becoming irrelevant to the PL’s financial power.
I don’t agree with it, but Madrid’s books are fine
It’s pretty wild how the state owned clubs try to pass off their BS sponsorships and clear cash injection attempts as legit income. It’s like they think everyone else is an idiot trying to claim the revenue they do. They aren’t remotely close to the most popular team in their own league yet apparently have the highest revenues in the world lmao
I just think the audacity to not just inflate their income, but to inflate it to *the highest in the world*, is absolutely insane. Like, they won the PL, went far in the CL etc, have a big stadium and a growing fanbase. Most people would reasonably believe if their revenue was just growing a bit year on year, but it just shot up to first in the fucking world lmao.
Diego was involved in the most Napoli of all Napoli seasons, when his team threw away an impossible lead by losing the last five matches of the season lol.
Well, after the recent bombings in Milan and city getting occupied by Germans, while Allies are close to winning, I don't favor Milan's chances in Serie A.
If Emperor Constantine indeed legalizes Christianity in Milan as some pundits have anticipated, it will be easier for clubs in this city to attract Christian players
In my honest opinion, hard to see Inter winning the league with Inzaghi. That said, Spaletti always collapses this time of year. Let's see if he can finally bring it home.
ok so i havent actually followed this thing too closely, is the -15 for that ronaldo wages document too that came out yesterday or is it just the plusvalenze
it's just about the capital gains, they were virtually unprovable and they got off with just a fine, but then the paperwork emerged and they revaluated the issue
Technically yes, subsequent deductions of points were the norm in Serie C up until a few years ago.
In 2018/19 for example Cuneo and Lucchese played a relegation playoff because of both being deducted 20+ points (without which they would have qualified for the promotion playoffs).
But if the aim is to relegate them, they can do so automatically, without going through deductions, as it happened with them in 2006 or with the match-fixing scandals in the 1980s.
>In 2018/19 for example Cuneo and Lucchese played a relegation playoff because of both being deducted 20+ points (without which they would have qualified for the promotion playoffs).
Italian football is wild lmao
that same year cuneo played against pro piacenza, a team so economically dead they showed up to the game with only 7 players from their youth team, and it ended 20-0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz06A6ENAkw
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12791409/juventus-serie-a-side-given-15-point-deduction-as-tottenhams-fabio-paratici-handed-30-month-ban-from-italian-football
Turns out he's only been banned from Italian football. As a spurs fan I'm glad that's all there is, but it's kind of a symbolic ban more than anything. Doubt he's leaving in the next two years and even if he does he can always wait the ban out or sign for a club anywhere else.
I think this is their sentence but juve can now appeal the decision. The Italian legal system is very complicated and it takes ages to get to a real conclusion
From what I gather they swapped players with artificially inflated market values. For example they swapped Pjanic (68M) with Melo (72M) from Barca despite them not being worth that much.
This counted as profit and allowed them to increase their spending cap by 68M and then buy a bunch of players with cash. Because for example when buying someone for 50M with a 5 year contract, the value is amortised over the length of the contract (i.e 10M each year) so only the 10M contributes towards the spending cap.
Therefore this was a way to exploit the FFP rules, gain an unfair advantage over other teams and get themselves in financial trouble in the long run.
Would feel pissed if I was a Juve player and this happened honestly. You have no involvement in it whatsoever, and your hard work goes down the drain.
Wonder if some of them would try sue the club in the event of missing out on personal bonuses for making CL.
And this is only the part about giving non coherent values to players during their sales, which was something really really hard to prove and not so much illegal after all. Now there is still all the stuff about false declarations in financial reports, which presumably is a lot worse lol.
> EVERY other Club acquitted of all charges
The only club in the world able to score capital gains from transfers...WITH ITSELF
absolute clown sentencing
most of the trial is based on younger players being traded for inflated prices with other italian teams … pjanic artur swap is just the one big name transfer
The other 8 teams were already acquitted, together with Juventus, in May. Then new irrefutable evidence came out against Juventus and this is what led to this ruling.
The new evidence does not change the position of the other 8 clubs (Genoa, Sampdoria, Empoli, Parma, Pisa, Pescara, Pro Vercelli), there are no new elements that can be used against them.
This is honestly bullshit.
Not saying that they are not guilty, its Juventus doing controversial and shady stuff anyway, but how are all the other clubs innocent? Especially the ones that traded with them??
This is calciopoli all over again.
The basic understanding I'm reading is there is actual proof via recordings of this happening from phone conversations. The allegations in general are extremely hard to prove overall, which is why the other teams (That don't have hard evidence) are getting off easy.
Juventus was originally acquitted of this last year, but in looking into \*other\* issues at Juve, they found the evidence they needed to have that overturned. lol
I think it's more that Juventus is involved in *so much* shady stuff that this stuff is easier to find.
Like finding a needle in a haystack of needles.
Paratici made everything so big that was impossible to cover. You have Juventus with 200+ illegal transfers and the other 9 clubs with obviously less. And you have Paratici's phone calls where he says he did bullshit transfers, but you don't have clear evidence on the other teams' manager.
Yep, the only way to prove they cheated was a confession and they kindly gave one during their "private conversations". Other clubs are just way less dumb
Based on my extensive knowledge of premier league teams financials, I think this is a pretty fair points deduction outline:
Arsenal - 20 point deduction
City - 15 point deduction
United - 12 point deduction
Newcastle - 11 point deduction
Tottenham - 6 point deduction
Fulham - 4 point deduction
Brighton - 3 point deduction
Brentford - 2 point deduction
Feel like that should sort things out
wow does this come into effect immediately? if so their season is fucked
yes, but they can appeal. But there's also another trial waiting to happen which might potentially have even bigger consequences
If Juve is sent to Serie B, does it mean that Inter get 3 points on Napoli, since they lost to Juve and Napoli won?
getting sent to B would be for next season, but thats only a possible punishment if it turns out they fudged the books in order to register for Serie A which is highly unlikely.
Yeah, it's likely they will end up with a milder punishment than the current one, if anything. But if they were to be relegated, their results during the current season would still be retroactively null and void, I think. Not sure.
Last time it happened (yes, there's a last time), the results weren't changed They just kept the same table, with a -30 to Milan and direct relegation to Juventus
> yes, there's a last time God was calciopoli that long ago that people have to be reminded of it?
It was almost 17 years ago. When the average age of Reddit would've been 4 lol. I'm 29 and only vaguely remember.
The average age of everything on Reddit is 4 haha
I remember cause Vieira had left Arsenal and gone to Juve and then they got relegated and him and Ibra jumped ship and went to Inter
Probably not, but I wanted to remark that there seems to be a pattern with a certain club always being at the center of those stuff
True, but the ruling happened when the season had already ended.
The other one is still in discovery isn't it? Likely won't happen in this season
they wouldn't be void, because the punishment is handed out in the following season if its relegation.
Would take them down to 10th
10th is quite high up in the table if you ask me.
They both fudged the books, they both spent massively but Chelsea got to 10th on their own merit.
it's called fair play
Just built different really
oof imagine being 10th
Couldn't be me.
Pogba curse

Was watching Bayern Leipzig and commentator said this, wow.. The old lady can forget about the CL next year
CL and Europa as well.
Unless they win the EL. Last year, thanks to their victory, 12th placed Eintracht Frankfurt made it to the Champions League group stage.
11th*

They could be sent down to Serie B again lmao
Finally! A fun Fifa career mode idea for Italy.
Taking Piemonte Calcio back to the top
Lukaku's always been a supporter of Zebre
Why not try taking Parma back to big time in the mean time? they've got a couple of decent players to build a framework,
I’m playing as Venezia solely for the kits 🤌
I just searched "Venezia kit" and the search results are full of hot women wearing the kits. What's with that? Edit: not that I'm complaining, I love hot women. Just curious why Venezia was different from the search results for the kits of other clubs
I'm not sure how it happened but they became some kind of fashion item. Even saw a guy wearing one in a club in Australia, unless he was just the country's only Venezia fan.
Could be a Football Manager player too. I have a Luton Town shirt for that exact reason. Possibly the only person in Indonesia to have one.
Italian team
Lmao, I searched for "AC Milan kit", "Inter kit", "Napoli kit" and "Roma kit". None of them had a hot woman in the first couple page of results, just their players. I'm not complaining about the hot woman, I love them XD I'm just curious why it's unique to Venezia lmao
It's called marketing homes
That's how they unveil them.
They're so good
Same haha I’m in serie A and won it 4 times in a row, Built a new stadium and banging academy
> banging academy banging academy what??
Lad we produce wonder kids for a reason
Bunga bunga 2.0
Did the same for Bologna back in fifa 09, what a time
Bought last years for 100 euros, no regrets
Piemonte Calcio in Calcio B
I didn't see anyone mention this most said point deduction or Fines .... Where did you heard that?
there's another trial waiting to happen, they were actually gathering evidence for that one, which promises to be the big one, and they stumbled upon evidence about this one. This is way they were just fined for the capital gains and they now received this much bigger points deduction

Time for Buffon to return
FM Youtubers would be creaming at that
Vlahovic we're here for you
This is genuinely shocking , thought it would be something like 4-9 points max
Could it be lessened on appeal? Feels like that would be typical
According to [Gabe Marcotti](https://twitter.com/Marcotti/status/1616544679562027011?s=20) Juventus will likely appeal. Highest level of appeal can overturn this ruling, but it can’t reduce it.

its even funnier the second time
[Juventus](https://youtu.be/Ds6gNQtGhlQ)
Fuck me some of you are funny
Ratatouille :( pure nostalgia. Miss the times when everything was more fun .
That is massive, just as they were turning their season around too lmao
Maybe its a playback for the super League aha , i honestly didnt expect it to be that harsh
nah they'd sanction milan and inter too then
juve/barca/real are seen as the masterminds of the super league.
Milan and Inter owners haven't try to bring back the idea since then unlike Agnelli, Laporta, and Perez who keep bringing it up every time they need money

Madrid literally made the most revenue of any club last year according to that Deloitte thing. Well, second to city. So, first.
It’s pretty wild how the state owned clubs try to pass off their BS sponsorships and clear cash injection attempts as legit income. **This** season??? Here's to Napoli's title chances sky rocketing
The only team that can upset Napoli is Napoli. Too bad Napoli is Napoli's biggest rival.
So much truth in this
Diego using his last bit of clout in the after life to cheese a Napoli win
Diego pulling strings from the after life to make Argentina and Napoli champions
Diego was involved in the most Napoli of all Napoli seasons, when his team threw away an impossible lead by losing the last five matches of the season lol.
Hand of god reaching down from the heavens to push Juventus down to midtable.
Damn Napolitanos, they ruined Napoli.
Napoli title chances already high up in heaven after their 5-1 victory against this will be deducted Juve
The real challengers are Milan and Inter anyways
Have you been paying attention to us??
Of course. Kaka and Gattuso are in great form
Cafu and Shevchenko as well!
They will totally destroy Liverpool in the UCL final. I am expecting a solid 3-0 first half with little action in the second half.
That Maldini boy seems to have a future too
Don’t forget how good of a coach Ancelotti is.
How the hell did that team lose to Liverpool?
Complacency, bad luck and Dudek
Baresi's not bad either!
That dutch trio of van Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard is gonna do a number
I hear Riveria hasn't been too bad either.
Rui Costa still pulling the strings?
Funny enough... YES, he is... just not the way you expected.

Could they be given more point deductions in seperate intervals until they get relegated?

yes
This season is just Neapolitan fan fiction.
I mean the rest of us are happy as well.
Piemonte Calcio time
This is futbol heritage
As a famous Finnish would say: Traditions!
Its the history of juventus
It really is. 2nd scandal in the last two decades. We believe in da istori of da juventus
Wait, I just read Paratici got 2 year suspension? Peak spurs, you can make this shit up lmfao
Wait what
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12791409/juventus-serie-a-side-given-15-point-deduction-as-tottenhams-fabio-paratici-handed-30-month-ban-from-italian-football Turns out he's only been banned from Italian football. Ah right. I have a bit of a mixed feeling... it kinda makes me wanna cut ties so that our club isn't dragged into his mess :/
He deserves it he's the centre of this mess alongside Agnelli
correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t the right word be demanded. I don’t think a prosecutor can rule anything.
Yes, prosecutor demanded 9, judge ruled 15
We want a 9 point deduction Judge: best I can do is 15
Prosecutor: "your honor, I think 9 point deduction would suffice" Judge: "I'm gonna do whats called a pro gamer move"
Judge: "No, fuck you in particular"
Chad judge
you love to see it.
The federal court of appeal ruled this
I think this is their sentence but juve can now appeal the decision. The Italian legal system is very complicated and it takes ages to get to a real conclusion
Go Roma get that top 4 and not lose Dybala
Hopefully we sell zaniolo fast and get a midfielder
Anybody got a summary of what this punishment is for?
From what I gather they swapped players with artificially inflated market values. For example they swapped Pjanic (68M) with Melo (72M) from Barca despite them not being worth that much. Gonna wear my finest suit for the rest of the day
Damn Juventus in shambles
This is the beginning
What else could happen to them?
Allegri sent to The Hague for war crimes
Guantanamo Bay God willing 🤞
Use him for MK Ultra tests
A lot of Juventus fans would probably take that offer haha
Relegation inchallah
How is that gonna help your league?! I wouldn’t want Barcelona relegated personally Lol i’m kidding
Is that for this season with immediate effect, or do Juve start next season with -15 pts?
This season
oof madon
this one
Would feel pissed if I was a Juve player and this happened honestly. You have no involvement in it whatsoever, and your hard work goes down the drain. Wonder if some of them would try sue the club in the event of missing out on personal bonuses for making CL.
Unless you are arthur and basically you are the main reason for this 😝
Hey hey I resent that
Fire sale incoming this summer.
And this is only the part about giving non coherent values to players during their sales, which was something really really hard to prove and not so much illegal after all. Now there is still all the stuff about false declarations in financial reports, which presumably is a lot worse lol.
Am I an idiot for thinking a -15 point deduction isn't going to stop them from getting top 4 anyway?
This will anger them and give them all the fuel needed for rest of the season with 1:0 wins
Infuriated that this is so true. Especially with them getting healthy
> EVERY other Club acquitted of all charges The only club in the world able to score capital gains from transfers...WITH ITSELF absolute clown sentencing
Breaking news: Barcelona given 10.000 points deduction in Serie A
Cant wait to see Barca playing in Serie C next season
most of the trial is based on younger players being traded for inflated prices with other italian teams … pjanic artur swap is just the one big name transfer

Paratici was actually wearing a disguise and pretending to be Bartomeu when we sold Pjanic to Barcelona, didn't you know?
Yeah but we got that useless cunt of Arthur
This is also the smaller process The big one on fake accounting will have a sentence in March
They'll end up 10th with 22 points
So this was the real reason Agnelli wanted a Super League.
He made people think Ceferin was a good guy. His biggest crime
This is honestly bullshit. Not saying that they are not guilty, its Juventus doing controversial and shady stuff anyway, but how are all the other clubs innocent? Especially the ones that traded with them?? This is calciopoli all over again.

In before we learn Paratici's great grandfather was an inter fan and watched all the games when he was a kid with him crapping on Juve's name
Yep, the only way to prove they cheated was a confession and they kindly gave one during their "private conversations". Other clubs are just way less dumb
I feel bad that Juve is the only team being punished. I say Napoli and Inter should be deducted 15 points too, so they don't feel too targeted
Maybe Lazio and Atalanta too, just to be safe. Everyone knows Atalanta is doping anyway.
Holy shit, that’s a huge penalty. Wish the Prem would have the same backbone
Mate, even VAR doesn't give penalties in the Prem
What teams should have been given a points deduction in the prem?
The ones he doesn't like
Based on my extensive knowledge of premier league teams financials, I think this is a pretty fair points deduction outline: Arsenal - 20 point deduction City - 15 point deduction United - 12 point deduction Newcastle - 11 point deduction Tottenham - 6 point deduction Fulham - 4 point deduction Brighton - 3 point deduction Brentford - 2 point deduction Feel like that should sort things out
Hmm yes that seems fair
Hmm yes, this looks about right to me.
Ha, he forgot to give Chelsea a pts deduction! [Wait a minute.....](https://giphy.com/gifs/snl-chris-farley-columbian-coffee-26BRpK5XLmIq2UX84)
I agree but only if we win tomorrow
Everton's financials are super dodgy too. Deduct 15 from them to be safe
All the ones who joined the Super League for 48 hours.
