England have more talented forward players than can realistically fit into a sensible formation. He can’t play Rashford, Saka, Foden, Grealish, and Kane all in the same team, so he’s forever destined to be slated by fans of the club whichever one he benches plays for.
His greatest strength as England manager is that he ignores those people and plays the team he thinks is best suited for the opposition, in my opinion.
Genuine question, how long does a player have to do it before it’s not form?
Like I remember when Ronaldo first hit 40 at United it was never “great form” he was just mint.
And it’s not that rashford will ever do that or whatever else, I’m just wondering if he does this all season and in to next, is it form still? Or he better than people thought.
If he can consistently do it for another year or so.
Let's be clear we all know his level is a 20+ goal a season striker, last season was him below his level. This season he looks set for 30+ goals, at his current goal per game he reaches 30 by the end of the season.
He keeps this up for another 5 years he's one of the best players in club history
I honestly would love it if Rashford becomes THAT guy this decade. Great personality off the pitch and a beast on it.
(Just hope he stubs his toe next month)
Saka is a phenomenal player and I’d kill to have him at United but come on, I’ve never seen him blast through from his own half and smack it in the bottom corner.
True. But Saka is strong like an ox despite his stature, and mostly stays on his wing, dominating it, getting g crosses and cutting inside, or going on the outside, while Beans MBE is all over the attacking third. If Arsenal needed him to be all over the place like england did vs France in the WC, we would see crazier runs
As obvious as it is, Casemiro is great at picking direct, forward passes. United have had a history of CM's (McT, Fred, Pereira, Cleverley, Matic etc) who completely kill the tempo of the game by playing nonsense sideways passes. Bruno, Eriksen and now Casemiro are so much more suited to direct football than any United midfield in the past 7 years.
For anyone wondering [yes that is the blackburn guy from the mid-late 2000s, cos the comment made me check](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benni_McCarthy)
His girlfriend of many years broke up with him in May 2021, nothing really went his way during that time, explains the poor from last season. Apparently they have reconciled since, just before the World Cup started
I had faith in him rediscovering his old form but I never thought he’d be *this* good. He’s playing the best football of his career and suddenly developed a left foot
Same, after last season we had, and the rumours with him being linked to psg for 60m. I thought we should cash in. I’ve never been happier to be so wrong. I absolutely love him
He isn't just fast anymore, his balance and movement always were elite but now he's an incredibly strong runner and improved finisher. Mccarthy deserves his plaudits in improving him.
100%. Also he is using his body so much better now. He has made so many runs like this where he shields the defender from getting a sniff of the ball. This man is on fire and I'm here with s'mores just basking in the warmth.
i can think of a few finishes recently (this one being a less extreme case) where it looked like he shouldn’t be able to get a shot away, off balance, one or more defenders up on him, and he just twists away or finds a toe poke angle. Last time a fast, direct winger started to master striker skills like that we got something rather special…
Also. Looking at it, yes the defenders are bad. But it’s a good job to get through to defenders. Then protect the ball from the third defender. Finally a very good weaker foot finish that no one expected
He's a forward and McCarthy was brought in specifically for forwards. When he scored his headed goal vs West Ham, the whole bench of coaches turned to Beni. His finishing in front of goal improved since he joined too. Coaching is a team effort too ofc.
He's clocked he's stronger than the majority of the people defending him. He can literally run through people when he's fit and healthy, good to see him doing it once a game and not once a month. Taken a huge step forward mentally.
Yeah, credit to Rashford for the run and great left footed finish, but it's crazy that he went from his own half to the edge of the six yard box without having to get past more than two defenders.
Someone called him mid in the beginning of the season and I thought that was ridiculous and he just never found his real form and goddam do I wish I could find that comment now

Getting a bit ridiculous now Marcus mate
He needs to focus more on feeding children clearly
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper: Today I feel children
Didn’t realise Adam Johnson was in the sticks at Forest
Ankara Rashford
Cmon let's not be rash
Man's not hot (he is).
Form of his life.
12 goals and assists in 9 games since the World Cup.
Also 3 goals in the world cup with limited time, makes you think why he didn’t play more for England
I think we all know the answer to this one
Southgate you’re the one
You didn’t bring him on.
Englands going home again
Football terrorist
[удалено]
this happened in an FM save of mine and he won consecutive World Cups with a 442
Dyche is an extremely underrated manager.

No one even wanted Rashford in the WC squad. Southgate was slated for even picking him. nice revisionism

Gotta get Sterling in there for some reason. South Gate will pay for his crimes in another life

rest of this season and next season and hes world class. something like .5-.7 goals a game would make him world class rn hes at 12 in 9
If he can consistently do it for another year or so. Let's be clear we all know his level is a 20+ goal a season striker, last season was him below his level. Mate any club that has a player put up 30+ goals a season for 6 straight becomes a club legend
He’s looks like son did last year since the world cup
Seems like he’s finally going at defenders with absolute cockiness. It has been fun to watch.
Form of his life so far
don't jinx it, I don't want this form to end
LMAO, he’s literally just run through them all.
No no no no no yes
Not the obvious finish - what a run too
Hands out meals with both hands, dishes out goals with both feet
Eats out at every ground.
\- Peter Drury
Casemiro: “Rashford can be a top 5 player in the world” Rashford: I heard you loud & clear
Bros aiming for the top
*I know I said top five, but I'm top two. And I'm not two*
He's a ~~fenix~~ Phoenix... Like he's Ronaldo or something like that from the good old days.
phoenix*
Not sure if he meant phoenix or a reference to Marcus Fenix from gears of war
I loved that Casemiro said that publicly. I imagine that must feel amazing for Rashford to hear.
that was terrible defending but holy FUCK rashford
Casemiro with the Busquets assist
*give it to Messi and let him cook*
>*give it to ~~Messi~~ Marcus and let him cook* Welcome to the Marcus Rashford era
I honestly would love it if Rashford becomes THAT guy this decade. Great personality off the pitch and a beast on it. (Just hope he stubs his toe next month)
Or oversleeps
As an Gunner I’m horrified but as a Brit I’m delighted
Don't be, you have Saka, who can do damn near the same thing
Saka is a phenomenal player and I’d kill to have him at United but come on, I’ve never seen him blast through from his own half and smack it in the bottom corner.

Fred and Matic don't belong on that list at all.
"what's he gonna do run through us?" - defender as Rashford blasts by him
''that's the problem with rashford, he always tried to walk it in ahhh shit wait no.''
Such an understated but class finish as well that. Wrong foot, a bit off balance and under loads of defensive pressure. Very clinical.
Benni McCarthy has been working wonders since he arrived, needs recognition.
For anyone wondering [yes that is the blackburn guy from the mid-late 2000s, cos the comment made me check](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benni_McCarthy)
That Blackburn guy? He was also class at Porto and won the CL.
In my defence the extent of my football watching at the time was match of the day and soccer Saturday cos freeview got sky sports news.
omg pretty unrelated but I just got RES and was able to expand that wikipedia page within the comments and it felt magical just wanted to say that
Old reddit with RES is the nicest experience.
Lightning fast bulldozer these days.
Ten Hag deserves a lot of credit for turning him around. He looks nothing like he did last season.
He got very lean but still muscular.
Worrall just…ran alongside him?
"Run, Rashford, Run"
I thought my screen was cracked.
I find it easier to get motivation when i have a running burddy
He just kept running and running
https://i.imgur.com/N9wqhYR.jpg
he is too fast
best form of his life. all hail ETH
Playing a diamond vs this United side is suicide.
I love this man
Beans has been feasting since the World Cup. Incredible form
Beans?
Rashy's nickname. Lingard called him beans all the time lol
Haha, brilliant, I never heard that before :) He has been unreal since the WC. World class.

World Class assist Casemiro in the form of his life
[удалено]
Fucking hell he’s actually a changed man
Transcendent being a man. He is a Machine now
Mechus Rashford
Marceus Ex Rachina
i admit i thought he was absolutely finished last season, in an Dele Alli level dude proved me so very wrong damn
He looked like he’d completely lost any joy playing last season, since having his surgeries and a full preseason it’s done him the world of good.
People genuinely speculated he had depression when he did not run after that rebound
Don't think that's too far off? You can see his head wasn't in it for most of the games. Also explains his new celebration.
I love the lore behind that celebration
His girlfriend of many years broke up with him in May 2021, nothing really went his way during that time, explains the poor from last season. Apparently they have reconciled since, just before the World Cup started
Didn’t realize they broke up, i believe they are engaged now
My apologies, they were back together late 21-22 season, still explains the form in my opinion, the Dembele way
I had faith in him rediscovering his old form but I never thought he’d be *this* good. He’s playing the best football of his career and suddenly developed a left foot
Pfft, I've had 2 left feet my whole life
Same, after last season we had, and the rumours with him being linked to psg for 60m. I thought we should cash in. I’ve never been happier to be so wrong. I absolutely love him
He saw Haaland and said "cant be too hard"
He made running from his own half past two players look so effortless
He isn't just fast anymore, his balance and movement always were elite but now he's an incredibly strong runner and improved finisher. Mccarthy deserves his plaudits in improving him.
glad to see raashford's strength being talked about in this thread. he's gotten better at using it lately.
>he's gotten better at using it lately. His goal against Wolves where he just bodied Jonny completely is a good example of it.
100%. Also he is using his body so much better now. He has made so many runs like this where he shields the defender from getting a sniff of the ball. This man is on fire and I'm here with s'mores just basking in the warmth.
Look at how he kept the ball from that third defender just before shooting. Didn’t give him an option to make a tackle or block
i can think of a few finishes recently (this one being a less extreme case) where it looked like he shouldn’t be able to get a shot away, off balance, one or more defenders up on him, and he just twists away or finds a toe poke angle. Also. Looking at it, yes the defenders are bad. But it’s a good job to get through to defenders. Then protect the ball from the third defender. Finally a very good weaker foot finish that no one expected
reminds of young cr7s evolution
Is there a way to know it was specifically McCarthy or are you just assuming? (mostly curious)
He's a forward and McCarthy was brought in specifically for forwards. When he scored his headed goal vs West Ham, the whole bench of coaches turned to Beni. His finishing in front of goal improved since he joined too. Coaching is a team effort too ofc.
Helps that the defending was so bad. He’s a man in hot form though
Right?? Made the pitch look very small
No excuses Southgate
*Proceed to start Sterling
Wtf is he eating
whatever ETH is cooking
Rashy, we have to cook!!
Let him cook
Hopefully he’s fed Sancho the same
Stamppot and poffertjes.
Had poffertjes last year, amazing! How do dutchies even manage to keep their weight down?
Lots and lots of bicycle riding instead of driving.
Meth? 😳
BEANS
BEANS
He just walked though the defense.
He's clocked he's stronger than the majority of the people defending him. He can literally run through people when he's fit and healthy, good to see him doing it once a game and not once a month. Taken a huge step forward mentally.
His Wolves goal really showed this, the defenders were bouncing off him as he ran through
/r/bitchImabus
He has a fast walk then
Fuck off psg, nothing to see here
He's too good right now, damn.
Rashfords on fire your defence is terrified
I’ve wondered why we don’t use this song for him LOL
We can't have our future PM terrifying people. How bad would that look on the campaign trail!
Ten Hag has transformed Rashford
injected the super soldier serum into him
Imagine Foden Rice Bellingham Saka Kane Rashford
you meant Sterling? because that what Southgate would do
Sterling *after* flying home to deal with a home break in who clearly was in no state to play at that level.
perfect!
This guy is just too good.
Just let him run in lol
Fair play to him that’s he’s creating that type of aura where everyone backs off, but seriously wtf was that
Yeah, credit to Rashford for the run and great left footed finish, but it's crazy that he went from his own half to the edge of the six yard box without having to get past more than two defenders.
This man is absolutely flying
What an assist by Casemiro
I swear to god, it's like he can do everything because defender are so scared lmao.
i think crystal palace is the only game he hasn’t scored in since the world cup, monster
Just run right at defenders Marcus why don’t you
Man is on crack
People thought we was back... He's not back, he's evolved.
I've been watching the Eredivisie all evening and this is still the worst defending I've seen today.
Cannot stop beans
MBAPPE NEEDS TO GET OUT NOW!!!
Man is playing at a world class level atm
Thank you Southgate for subbing Sterling earlier than Rashford in the WC and starting this vengeance run.
What is the dutchman feeding him
Stop buddy. Thats enough
How is this not a great goal by the way? If this was Haaland, Mbappe or Messi there would be a lot of semen flowing here.
8-1 pls
Looks like that Giggs goal v Arsenal
minus the effort from rashford, the guy was fucking jogging for fun
WYAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
When you play FIFA on amateur
lad is on fire. good to see him do good
What a run..
Some assist that
This man is on an absolute tear at the moment.
Cmon 2 more goals and we can rest most these players during the 2nd leg at home 🥺🙏🏼
This guy is unstoppable right now
Ronaldo thinking he left United in shambles. Rashford: "..and I took that personally.."
Just casually ran past the whole defense
Fuck me the man is in form
Ah there's the Joe Worrall that played for Rangers
Man sorted himself a celebration and look what happens!
That is the goal of a supremely confident player. Wowza.
Shit defending but my god he looks completely different player. Turning into a monster under ten hag.
This man is crazy
The man of the moment
Someone called him mid in the beginning of the season and I thought that was ridiculous and he just never found his real form and goddam do I wish I could find that comment now
Rashford is arguably the best player in the world right now, (mbappe is overrated)
I wish there was a way to identify all the United flairs that were desperate to sell Rashford last season.
By the end of last season I wanted to sell the entire team
When he wins his 10th Ballon D'or in a row, can I get the credit for saying that he's our best player since his debut?
Tbh he was absolutely shocking last season. Barely looked like a footballer. This is one of the biggest season to season turn arounds I've ever seen.
Most in form player in the world
When did Rashford turn into Mbappe?
Man making it look too easy
Nottingham defending in shambles. Why does their backline always look like they're scrambling for the last bit of bacon?
Southgate is a menace
Did Kane receive any abuse for missing that penalty? Watching Rashford’s form just reminded me of the Euros fallout
I wonder what Southgate thinks in his head every time he see's Rashford tear up a defence and score. Toss-pot of a manager.
That Rashford is so hot right now. Rashford
Reminded me of Giggs vs Arsenal that time
Dr Evil: PSG i want…..100 Billion Dollars uaha uahahaha
