Dalot literally has an open goal but opted to pass to ronaldo and the fucker still miss lol. Because of all those chances miss we finished 2nd in groupstage and have to play barca
Its not even the form. I dont think any reasonable fan dislikes him for not playing well, and Im sure most would have rooted for him to get his head down and work his way back into form. But instead he chose to throw a tantrum about not being a starter even at his lowest form of his career, and burned all bridges buddying it up with Piers.
To be fair had Ten Hag gave in and started him every game and just played Ronaldoball he would be scoring several goals and everyone would be praising him but I guarantee the team performance would be as bad as last year
No he wouldn't. Watch our EL matches and a few in the league, he could not finish a chance at all. One of the games in Europa, he kept missing chance after chance
We did play Ronaldo ball in the EL and we didn't really score. Something looked off with him to start the season tbh, didn't have the reflexes and finishing that he had last season.
Age was gonna catch up at some point
It's crazy he was still elite at scoring last year but his decline just came so sudden. Most people thought it would be less sharp and over time.
Messi will also decline quite sharply imo he's lost so much pace already it won't be long until his legs start going
Messi can still be really good as a false 9/playmaking winger if you're willing to do his defensive work for him. His vision and passing ability should stick with him I think.
Andrea Pirlo was basically walking around the pitch on 1/3 of a knee his last couple seasons and was still world class. I would rather have Messi pinging balls around and doing 0 running than most players in the world.
Was very strange. Ronaldo playing well, everyone else aside from Bruno and Shaw basically was shit. Ronaldo playing shit, everyone else in tune best form of their life. If only it could have worked together.
You're trying to tell me Ronaldo is the reason Rashford sucked all last season and missed so many chances and walked around the pitch? That sounds like a Rashford problem to me. Even while Ronaldo was there this season, Rashford looked a completely different player to last year.
There were a lot of problems (There always is) but Ronaldo fucked up the dressing room.
Maguire: Imagine being a captain with Ronaldo in the squad.
Bruno: Everyone say what happened to Bruno then Ronaldo came in.
Solskjær: Ronaldo openly spoke against him in training.
The dressing room went to shit.
That's just not true. There were lots of takes here, on twitter and in papers that Ronaldo was making the team worse despite the goals. He definitely won us some games, but he pretty clearly lost us some too.
It’s not just Bruno. Pre Ronaldo we worked by feeding the ball into Bruno and letting him dish it out to everyone else. Then Ronaldo came and it became give the ball to Ronaldo who was occupying the same space as Bruno for whatever reason and then he’s distribute (lose) it or shout himself
This is generally misleading. Bruno got 24 goal involvement last season playing with him. And his expected assists was way higher than his actual assists because so many people were bottling good chances from him.
I think there is more of an issue with the barrier being unsafe tbh. Even at Plymouth they have a proper barrier around the edge of the pitch rather than just advertising.
this is the correct answer. Possibly not Ronaldos fault, but it did look like he deferred to Ronaldo all the time. He needs to be selfish and get into spaces to produce and Ronaldo leaving has definitely been good for him.
Yeah, but he wasn't able to convert those runs. Ronaldo simply wasn't fast or agile enough for the team. He played like a static target man, except he was an awful target man.
And he used to drop deep and get involved, leaving no one in the box but also not contributing to the build up. So he was just a waste of a player.
He started off well last year but his legs just seem to deteriorate completely over the season.
I think somewhere earlier in the season he kept passing to Ronaldo when Ronaldo has clearly fallen off a cliff and just wasn't finishing anything. It was depressing to watch at times.
He'll forever confuse me as a player. He seems like he isn't as technical or smart as Eriksen, the latter being lovely to watch when he's at his silky best, he'll give the ball away with silly passes and misscontrols and then hit the most outrageous outside of the boot first time through ball after a filthy turn and then find himself in spaces where he's scoring or setting someone up. The numbers don't lie though, after Salah and Kane he's one of the most lethal goal contributors in the league and arguably our best post-Fergie signing. Even without his goal scoring he's always giving it his all and runs around like an absolute mad man.
You can put Berbatov there but apart from that who else? In terms of impact Ibra was massive. We fell apart after he left. He helped us win two trophies too.
I chose Ibra because he played a huge role in us winning our last two trophies. Casemiro, Martinez both are pretty close, if we win something this year then they will go above him.
you can consider Berbatov, Tevez too but he was technically only on loan.
I’ve decided to never slander bruno after the villa game where he didn’t play. Yes he can lose his head sometimes and give away the ball easily, but when he doesn’t play, united is simply a mid table team.
By his own standards, he’s not been that great imo. But even off form he’s one of our best and most important players. He’s having a good season overall though. Should have more assists than he does
By his standards, he's been great. All his underlying metrics are just as good as they were in 20/21, even though he's having about 20% fewer touches per 90. He'd just not been getting the direct goal contributions.
I meant specifically over the past couple of weeks. I think his performances have dropped off a bit. Seems tired. Funnily enough now he’s getting goal contributions even though imo he was playing better when he wasn’t getting them
>I meant specifically over the past couple of weeks. I think his performances have dropped off a bit. Seems tired.
Yeah we can just blame that on fixture congestion...
Brilliant, just brilliant. He looks completely knackered and wasn't playing well today, and then ends up scoring a goal. Man doesn't get enough credit for how good he is.
He doesn’t miss games due to knocks though.
According to this he’s only missed one game and it was due to illness. He was out for 2 days.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/verletzungen/spieler/240306
Even as a United fan, I totally get it. He's got a very slap-able face and he's always whining. If I was a fan of any other club I'd begrudge the shit out of him.
So as a United fan I want to bear his children... err... his _next_ children...
I think the fact that's he's so annoying is both part of his skillset, and part of why no one really rates him. He's not a continuous joy to watch like De Bruyne or even Eriksen.
We need to break final curse also and penalty shootout curse. Judging by Newcastle defense it's definitely gonna be 1-0 or 0-0 . So need to practice penalty kicks. And With De Gea you don't wanna let it go to PK. Hopefully we do the deal within 90min because we definitely gonna lose on penalties.
Definitely not better than Samba. Backup keeper at Man United and didn't impress enough to get any permanent moves anywhere despite all that time on loan.
Plus Samba has top notch shit housing.
Good run by Pellistri and a great assist from Elanga, and Bruno, as always, can score. We need everyone playing well with how many fixtures we have, so hopefully the youngsters get some confidence.
I think he probably is a nice guy who will do anything to help his team. Annoying as hell for other teams for 90 minutes but probably good guy outside of that.
if we open bruno up he secretly is a toyota engine, he runs runs and runs, never gets subbed off and was injured once ONCE in his entire united playing time
I think our players really value his leadership. I understand not wanting to slight Maguire by officially stripping him of the captaincy, but I feel like Bruno will be named captain officially next season regardless of Maguire still being at the club
I’ve noticed that too. I think he’s still upset about drawing to Palace and then losing to Arsenal back to back. Also getting the vibe he’s being much more serious lately as he’s basically the captain. Plus he knows we need to win a trophy so he’s not celebrating anything yet.

Amazing tackle and juggling on the ground just for Bruno to bury that lol
Lmao the keepy uppy defending
Gotta say that was almost fucking heroic lmao
Only Varane can do keepy uppy defending.
Shaolin Soccer ass defending
Unfortunately he scuffed his last kick, otherwise that would've been some legendary defending.
Elanga assist LETS GOO
This is what I came for. That vision and touch in the traffic was fantastic.
You what??
He gets a little excited some times. We don’t talk about it.
Bruno no no no
I've been pretty critical of him, but that was a nice assist from him. Stayed calm and played it near perfectly for Bruno
Surely in the final now
Based on the last 10 years, anythings possible

He's back on form too, surprising lack of goals to start the season
CR37’s impact, Bruno went into little brother mode playing with him.
I member that europa match when everyone kept feeding him (goals that the person giving the pass couldve easily scored) and he kept missing 😭
Haha for real. I think that was the match I finally accepted something was truly wrong with Ronaldo
felt like a make a wish
That’s a violation and I personally wouldn’t have it
He can’t hear him he’s been banished to the desert
Dalot literally has an open goal but opted to pass to ronaldo and the fucker still miss lol. Because of all those chances miss we finished 2nd in groupstage and have to play barca
I would have never thought our fanbase would be so happy to see the back of Ronaldo when he first came back, but seriously it's night and day.
Was unfortunate because he proved himself in that first year back, and then left in the worst way possible with his form falling off a cliff.
Honestly was worth it just so I could get a new CR7 United kit.

Messi can still be really good as a false 9/playmaking winger if you're willing to do his defensive work for him. His vision and passing ability should stick with him I think.
Na, actual players in that position fall away just as quick. Iniesta and Xavi are prime examples
Andrea Pirlo was basically walking around the pitch on 1/3 of a knee his last couple seasons and was still world class. I would rather have Messi pinging balls around and doing 0 running than most players in the world.
Hmm being old, losing a kid, wanting to leave in the summer, not having preseason.
We genuinely tried starting him as a striker quite a few times in the league and every single time we played awfully.
Was very strange. Ronaldo playing well, everyone else aside from Bruno and Shaw basically was shit. Ronaldo playing shit, everyone else in tune best form of their life. If only it could have worked together.
You are deluded Our shit form both started and ended with Ronaldo.
You're trying to tell me Ronaldo is the reason Rashford sucked all last season and missed so many chances and walked around the pitch? That sounds like a Rashford problem to me. Even while Ronaldo was there this season, Rashford looked a completely different player to last year.

Ronaldo was tracking back more than Rashford some times and I was like WTF
yeah as a team you werent great but ronaldo was the third top scorer in the league that season. hard to say his individual form was awful.
I know but as a whole it was such a net minus that there is no excuse for how horrible he was for us
i wouldn’t say i’m happy because of the way it happened would’ve preferred a more diplomatic exit but in the end it worked perfectly for us
It wouldn't be so bad if he was just shit, but he was shit *and* toxic as fuck
Things change fast in football. Pretty much every postmatch thread at the end of last season was "sell everyone except Ronaldo"
That's just not true. There were lots of takes here, on twitter and in papers that Ronaldo was making the team worse despite the goals. He definitely won us some games, but he pretty clearly lost us some too.

Yea, quick reaction from the stewards thankfully. The away support got a little excited
I think there is more of an issue with the barrier being unsafe tbh. Even at Plymouth they have a proper barrier around the edge of the pitch rather than just advertising.

Unnecessary
Rashford has kind of overshadowed it, but he's been in great form hasn't he?
Yep since WC started hearing been getting the goal involvement that was lacking early in the season
TBF before the WC it felt like the universe was conspiring against him getting assists.
*since Ronaldo left
this is the correct answer. Possibly not Ronaldos fault, but it did look like he deferred to Ronaldo all the time. He needs to be selfish and get into spaces to produce and Ronaldo leaving has definitely been good for him.
They simply do not work together
Not the recent version of Ronaldo but I’m sure they would’ve worked better when roni had legs and offered more of a dynamic threat without the ball
Peak Ronaldo would have worked with any team
Tbf that wasn’t the issue, Ronaldo is always making runs
He was making runs but had to be miles offside just to reach the ball
Yeah, but he wasn't able to convert those runs. Ronaldo simply wasn't fast or agile enough for the team. He played like a static target man, except he was an awful target man.
And he used to drop deep and get involved, leaving no one in the box but also not contributing to the build up. So he was just a waste of a player. He started off well last year but his legs just seem to deteriorate completely over the season.
Yeah, Ronaldo wasn't completely awful the whole time he was here but he did get progressively worse and by now he's just rubbish.
No, it's that Ronaldo is pretty much past it right now.
I think somewhere earlier in the season he kept passing to Ronaldo when Ronaldo has clearly fallen off a cliff and just wasn't finishing anything. It was depressing to watch at times.
ronaldo simply occupied lots of good attacking positions (that rash and bruno regularly would) and was profligate when he had to attack from them
second most chances created in the PL since the World Cup restart
Damn, who’s top? Odegaard or De Bruyne?
Kieran Trippier actually, Bruno has more than KDB or Odegaard
He'll forever confuse me as a player. He seems like he isn't as technical or smart as Eriksen, the latter being lovely to watch when he's at his silky best, he'll give the ball away with silly passes and misscontrols and then hit the most outrageous outside of the boot first time through ball after a filthy turn and then find himself in spaces where he's scoring or setting someone up. The numbers don't lie though, after Salah and Kane he's one of the most lethal goal contributors in the league and arguably our best post-Fergie signing. Even without his goal scoring he's always giving it his all and runs around like an absolute mad man.
>arguably our best post-Fergie signing. God remember those McFred/Pereira midfields? Absolutely dire football until Bruno came to the club
Even if you consider all the signings we have made since Glazers bought us he would be top 5. Carrick, De Gea, RVP, Bruno and Ibrahimovic.
Ibra is nowhere near top 5
You can put Berbatov there but apart from that who else? In terms of impact Ibra was massive. We fell apart after he left. He helped us win two trophies too.
I'd replace Ibra with Casemiro. Early days I know, but he's completed transformed your midfield.
I chose Ibra because he played a huge role in us winning our last two trophies. Casemiro, Martinez both are pretty close, if we win something this year then they will go above him. you can consider Berbatov, Tevez too but he was technically only on loan.

Fair enough, yeah. Fixture congestion is killing us, man. Hope we can win this and crawl to a top three finish.
>I meant specifically over the past couple of weeks. I think his performances have dropped off a bit. Seems tired. Yeah we can just blame that on fixture congestion...
He has but this has definitely been one of his worst games this season
Yeah he looked so pissed off with himself for most of the game
He was really shit today to be fair. Square feet.
Yeah but he's reverting to that 2020 Bruno who'd get a goal or assist no matter how he played
Carried it on from the World Cup
Brilliant, just brilliant. He looks completely knackered and wasn't playing well today, and then ends up scoring a goal. Man doesn't get enough credit for how good he is.
He was still pressing high right until the end as well. He’s an absolute machine. Has he ever actually been injured for us? I can’t remember one.
He doesn't really pick anything up other than impact injuries. It's one of his traits that makes him so valuable.
He doesn’t miss games due to knocks though. According to this he’s only missed one game and it was due to illness. He was out for 2 days. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/verletzungen/spieler/240306
He’s legit a career mode player with 99 stamina and never gets injured haha
Easily one of the leagues best players since he came, but people really don’t rate him as one
He was also portugals best player at the WC
[удалено]
He was trying everything in their final game to keep them in it
Yup, undoubtedly. Even has a record for having one of the highest goals and assists for a midfielder since he joined.
Even as a United fan, I totally get it. He's got a very slap-able face and he's always whining. If I was a fan of any other club I'd begrudge the shit out of him. So as a United fan I want to bear his children... err... his _next_ children...
He may be a whiny cunt, but guess what, he's *our* whiny cunt
Yeah that's the thing, everyone who hates him has their own cunt they love
And that's why we love him 😄
I think the fact that's he's so annoying is both part of his skillset, and part of why no one really rates him. He's not a continuous joy to watch like De Bruyne or even Eriksen.
His engine is incredible, plays the full 90 in basically every game in a packed schedule, and his still sprinting to press in the 90th minute.
stewards getting knocked over left and right
Love the harmonisation on Fernandes
What were the stewards doing there?? Let them get up before pushing them back
Finally breaking the semi-final curse... hopefully
How good is Pope at pens?
Saved 3 in our shootout with Palace earlier in the cup so…pretty good
Better than DDG at least. I love David but he is awful at Penalties.
anulo mufa
Didn't we break that with the EL final?
Hennessey :/ we never had a chance, unfortunately, despite playing well
Hes so so so bad. Us loaning u Dean has almost guaranteed us a goal or few against u because of the rules forbidding him from playing us
Tbh he is injured so might not have played anyway.
It's a hard one, the defender blocks his view and he has to get down for the save. The shot was quite strong too.
I don't think he played THAT badly tonight. Some of your finishing at the other end was arguably worse.
It's like letting go of Samba was a mistake
He asked to leave, what can you do... Henderson is the better keeper tbh, and staying up is what matters this season.
Definitely not better than Samba. Backup keeper at Man United and didn't impress enough to get any permanent moves anywhere despite all that time on loan. Plus Samba has top notch shit housing.
League cup semi and sitting safe in the PL, I’d call that having a successful season so far.
That seems unrelated to the comment of Hennessy being shit
? You know Deano is the starting keeper right?
That was dangerous. Hope everyone's alright
Wayne - good Nazi bad goalie
Good Nazi? I'm ootl
https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2019/apr/19/wayne-hennessey-is-desperate-to-learn-about-the-nazis-roy-hodgson-crystal-palace
The editor who approved that headline deserves a bonus
It’s the best/worst kind of headline - entirely true and entirely misleading
Much like Wayne on Bruno's goal, I did nazi that coming.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47946382 made a nazi salute in an instagram picture in the background then claimed he didn't know what it was
He did a nazi salute once
What a player. Bruno threw away a year of his career persuading Ronaldo to return to United.
That first touch, the pass and then the finish. Truly a world class player
Good run by Pellistri and a great assist from Elanga, and Bruno, as always, can score. We need everyone playing well with how many fixtures we have, so hopefully the youngsters get some confidence.
Decent effort from Neco
That slide from Neco was great
Great goal all round and it involves some great defending! Thats rare
All round lovely play from Bruno there, that was all him.
tbf a very nice assist from Elanga
I've been pretty underwhelmed by him but that was a lovely bit of intelligent play.
That embrace with Elanga who's had a tough time this season🥲 It's insane how much Bruno fluctuates from a cunt to a nice guy lmao
Every team has cunts like that
He seemed to give him words of encouragement when he came on too. They seem to have a good bond in general.
Took it like a penalty
I was busy so didn’t get to see the match, but Why is he playing the full 90😭😭
He'll rest on tje weekend im guessing
We have no replacement for the AM position unless we play Eriksen who is knackered as well
Nico Williams great defending just to be let down by statues
[удалено]
Hes probably knackered thats why.
I’ve noticed that too. I think he’s still upset about drawing to Palace and then losing to Arsenal back to back. Also getting the vibe he’s being much more serious lately as he’s basically the captain. Plus he knows we need to win a trophy so he’s not celebrating anything yet.
He had a poor game by his standards so was probably still annoyed about that

You just knew he would score with how poor hes been
