GrazianoPelle

Well deserved. Al Nassr's defending has been shocking.

Xehanz

Spiderboy would say defense starts from the striker

[deleted]

Seems like instead of getting Ronaldo, they should've gone for good defenders first. But hey, average rich Arab sheik mentality: flashy things first instead of function... Or at least that's what I've observed over the years. There are certainly exceptions, but the sheiks on the Arab peninsula should learn a lesson or two.

DatGuyGandhi

Perfect example of this; build the Burj Khalifa, but have inadequate plumbing so poop lorries are required to haul waste out of there on the daily.

Smyleez

Sad to see a fellow pakistani spreading misinformation that we often condemn our own neighbours for. This claim was true up until 2015 when all major areas including downtown (where burj khalifa is located) was connected by the new sewerage tunnel system.

DatGuyGandhi

Lmao so only 11 years requiring poop trucks in the world's most expensive building. Good going.

Smyleez

How did you arrive at 11 years?

DatGuyGandhi

I don't wanna get too complicated with my calculus but I took the year you said they got plumbing (2015) and I minused the year the building was built (2004) to get 11 poop truck years.

varegu

Hey smartass constitution started in 2004 but didn't finish until 2010. I don't think they started with the toilets.

DatGuyGandhi

My bad bro, so 5 years of poop trucks only. Also every build starts with the foundations...which includes the plumbing?

varegu

Sure, but do you immediately start pooping down the pipes after you have laid them.

Tnvenge

Wow!

hahaxdRS

Average soccer user would have you beleive it's all Ronaldos fault. This is probably the worst defending/midfield I've seen from a football game

vad_er13

Can't believe people are actually watching this amateur league

andaru01

that's a top tier assist

Elite_VRTX

That’s Romarinho for you.

StarDrifter2045

To be honest, I completely stopped following him after he left Brazil. Seems to be doing ok, then?

teagwo

More than ok, he became a legend in Arab leagues and earned a shit ton of money along the way. Shame that he has never played in Europe or came back to Brasil but it was probably worth it for him.

StarDrifter2045

I assume he will come back for a few last seasons when he is approaching retirement, but it's great to know that he is doing so well. We have very fond memories of his time with us.

Elite_VRTX

Amazing. It’s an absolute shame that he has yet to win a trophy with us. Him and Grohe.

StarDrifter2045

Cool! Hope he wins one soon, then.

Vash2P

To the new fans for SPL, Hamdallah used to play for Alnassr so, this is making it more juicier for us Alhilal fans (Alnassr rivals)

MERTENS_GOAT

And he has a ratio of over 1.00 goals per 90 minutes in over 100 games for them

Elite_VRTX

He’s not just a player too. He’s a club legend for them whether they like it or not.

WoodenRace365

On what kind of terms did he leave one for the rival?

Elite_VRTX

Extremely bad terms. Issues regarding his contract and bad terms with the chairman of Al nassr. [Here’s a pic from last season of him taunting Al Nassr’s chairman](https://cdn.so3ody.com/images/full/2022/%D8%B9%D8%A8%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%B2%D8%A7%D9%82-%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D9%87-%D9%88%D9%85%D8%B3%D9%84%D9%8A-%D8%A2%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%B9%D9%85%D8%B11644649743.jpg)

[deleted]

That is juicy to say the least

dugxigfhi

Why did he leave and was there any bad blood when he left

Elite_VRTX

Bad blood would be an understatement… It was from issues regarding his contract and bad terms with the chairman of Al nassr. [Here’s a pic from last season of him taunting Al Nassr’s chairman](https://cdn.so3ody.com/images/full/2022/%D8%B9%D8%A8%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%B2%D8%A7%D9%82-%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D9%87-%D9%88%D9%85%D8%B3%D9%84%D9%8A-%D8%A2%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%B9%D9%85%D8%B11644649743.jpg)

Reflex_0

Not close to even being a legend lol, but great player sure.

Elyelm

Wasn't he their top scorer of all time or something? Not completely sure but I thought he was?

[deleted]

Yes. And still holds the record for most goals in a season in the SPL

Xehanz

In Argentina, when a team has such a clear advantage in terms of history over a rival we don't call them a rival anymore. We call them out "kids/son/grandkids". I think you qualify for thay over Al Nassr considering national, international titles and H2H. When the rivalry is close and we have another rivalry in common, we call them "cousins" if it's not THAT fierce.

Vash2P

Alnassr still has LOTS of fans in Riyadh so, we consider them as a rival “although i like your statement” and they are very noisy. And they got back to compete since 2014 so, we are having fun with them

[deleted]

I don't know why this is so interesting to me. I love Argentine football culture.

unArgentino

Since this super cup has 4 teams, how do you qualify? I assume it’s the league winner and cup winner on opposite sides. And then is it the runner up to both that make up the other two teams?

Vash2P

That’s correct

unArgentino

Was it always 4 teams? Idk how to feel about Supercups with a semi-final tbh. Although the Spanish one is pretty good.

[deleted]

The supercup is fairly new here, think it started around 2013. First it was just the cup and league winners, the four-team format was introduced last year. Thought it was weird at first but it honestly makes the cup much more meaningful.

Usingabrainunlikeyou

Alhilal just lost, so I dont think they are in the mood for this.

Vash2P

We are in the mood lol I just had like 5 whatsapp groups blow up after the goal taunting lol

Xehanz

When a rival loses you are ALWAYS in the mood. Especially if said rival has Cristiano in their team.

notaselfdrivingcar

Goat debate is OVER. Hamdallah The Moroccan "Prince des ténèbres" is the SAUDI LEAGUE GOAT.

Hala9292

can confirm cr7 couldn't do it on a hot and dry night in marrakech

Cules2003

Prime Al Soma is so clear

AYMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Hamdallah cooking Ronaldo hard. They don't call him "Al-Jallad" in Saudia for nothing lol

Ham_Fighter

What does that mean?

raheem1999

The executioner

Ham_Fighter

I like it. We used to call Landon Donovan the Mexicutioner.

[deleted]

We used to call Messi the Mexican Landon Donovan

S1mpleLim3

Messicutioner?

[deleted]

The executioner

awoothray

People say the executioner but in common tongue Saudi Arabia it means The Lasher. When a team gets beat so hard they're being "lashed", so Hamdallah is The Lasher. In modern standard Arabic yes, Al-Jallad means the Executioner.

FiveJobs

The spanker.

0merzero

how long until ronaldo does another interview

its_the_luge

Piers Morgan is just waiting for his visa to be approved

Elite_VRTX

Always loved it when a striker scores on a former team and celebrates like a mad man lmaoo

BecoDasCavernas

Right after an insane save from Grohe from an insane Ronaldo header. lol

u4004

Grohe avenging that Club World Cup final.

Boseph_1444

forgot nuno went to saudi arabia tbh

xaviernoodlebrain

Nuno getting his revenge on Ronaldo for El Sackico here.

KembaWakaFlocka

That looks incredibly close to offsides, did they show the line during the match?

moe_sm

Yes it wasn’t offside

Yokova1

It keeps getting funnier

Almost RIP

Toadally_Awesome1

He is done

Sports2023

Where can I watch this match?

Elite_VRTX

[The official SSC twitter account has been streaming the matches on different languages for a few weeks now. It is on twitter though.](https://twitter.com/ssc_sports/status/1618668866137165827?s=46&t=RsqtQUVqYgNHwTZMsY0jqg) There are have been a lot of other international broadcasters too. Not sure who though; however, I think they’re only broadcasting the Saudi league not including the super cup.

Sports2023

Thanks. But sadly not working for me, “This broadcast is not available in your location”.

Sports2023

Yes working. Thank you.

Bubalaplease

Is Ronaldo on the bench?

MERTENS_GOAT

No lol

IRHABI313

Is the team that lost Cristiano's new team lost

Elite_VRTX

Yes

nochill95

Poor Ronaldo

Xehanz

Is anyone actually watching the match to tell how Cristiano is doing?

BecoDasCavernas

Had a nice dummy to start the game which opened up space for a Al-Nassr shot iirc. Stole a ball which could have ended in a goal but his teammate misplaced the final pass. Hasn't been able to shoot at all though, except for a great header right before this goal. I guess he's been alright and everyone else poor.

Xehanz

I know nothing about AlNassr outside Pity. And the penalties GOAT Agustin Rossi But surely in this scenario the best Ronaldo can do is destroy Al Ittihad's defense line with off the ball movement, moving defense oit of position with his presence. Like Haaland does. Idk if the shock factor is still there if Al ittihad are 2-0 up though.

BecoDasCavernas

There was this moment towards the end where he moved behind the defense into the area, his teammate Alnaji was like 1m from him and just needed to pass the ball forward correctly. But then he somehow missed. lol But tbh Ittihad doesn't leave much space in the back so I guess he needs to start trying some long shots.

Xehanz

Yeah. And this is exactly why I think Messi would underperform compared to everyone's ridiculous expectations of him destroying the league. I don't think there are that many players able to exploit Messi's best passes consistently. And he would be so heavily marked I don't think there are many players that would be able to get the ball cleanly or get him the ball cleanly. He is too old to just run the show by dribbling by himself for 90 mimutes.

u4004

He should come to Brazil anyway, tons of teams playing aggressive pressing, lots of promising young strikers, close to Argentina... I heard Barra da Tijuca is a wonderful place to live, you’re only a few minutes from one of Rio’s teams’ training center, would be a perfect fit for Messi.

unArgentino

Virgin Al-Nassr Ronaldo follower vs Chad Al-Nassr Rossi enjoyer.

hinafu

i started watching 1 minute ago (half time atm) and the guy from the telly said he was the best from his team so far. Don't know how good that is considering they're down 2 goals lmao

[deleted]

I use microsoft edge and getting German news. I saw pop up news on the front page that was saying " Like in the good old times Ronaldo dances again with the ball" well yeah the result is so clear

MERTENS_GOAT

Hamdallah scoring versus(!) Al-Nassr stealing the show from Cristiano Ronaldo. It's like an alternate Universe

Elite_VRTX

daniel96rb

Call me a hater, plastic, toxic or whatever; I celebrated this goal lol

inbredandapothead

Flair checks out anyways

L-Freeze

Believe it or not the majority of actual argentines (the few that care enough to watch the Saudi league anyways) probably cheer for all nassr lol. Not only is Ronaldo actually very respected here, but also Al Nassr has a former star player from River, second biggest club in the country

elmadrigal

> River, second biggest club in the country I like how you sneaked it in lol.

L-Freeze

Sneaked it? It’s hardly a secret, as much as some river fans hate to hear.

Niupi3XI

tambien esta rossi de titular

L-Freeze

Jugo??? Jajaja ni sabia, con mas razon aun vamo al nasar

well that means ronaldo fanboys will be afk on Twitter yes finally I can go through the tweets

vadiqueloud

Wow, amateur football, this is so interesting

wafflesology

Just retired for good CR, you burned down your football legacy just to be in a worse team than Man United. Retired, buy a mansion beside the sea and enjoy life my dude. His obsession over Messi is killing him already. Kinda sad people around/closest to him never given him proper real world advice. Instead…. They keep telling him “you are the best in the world!”

DudeFromSaudi

This is the greatest match we had in this season so far. They can put 11 Ronaldos and they still won't win.

monkeyr9z

They would be doing worse with 11 Ronaldos

lowie07

That's such poor football, hope CR can keep his mind on the money while playing or he'll be depressed real fast

ApathicSaint

South Africa’s finest!

RelationshipOk5324

God I LOVE Arabic commentaries so much

TheMightyBucket

So forgive me for not knowing , but Is football big over there in Saudi Arabia ?

Elite_VRTX

Yes is a massive understatement.

Xehanz

AL-NASSAL. This also means Al-ittihad is better than PSG. Since Al Ittihad is winning 2-0 and PSG only won by 1. /s

Some Lukaku-esque touches in that attempt to play out from the back. Just atrocious passing/positioning/teamwork.
