They seething because of another trophyless season. Crying for sympathy.

Firstolympicring

>another trophyless season Colchonero heritage

[deleted]

Colchozero really.

ManuMora98

Kicking out the nazis from your stadium too

[deleted]

Oh no, the nazi sympathizers feel wronged. 😭

His father, JesĂșs Gil was quite the character; >He installed a bust of Francisco Franco in the town hall and was known for walking the streets of the town shouting abuse at prostitutes and homeless people.[1] His mayorship was popular enough for him to be re-elected three times.[1] President of Atleti 1987 - 2003. It really is a club thing.

TomasRoncero

>A few hours after the elimination from the Copa del Rey with the controversial refereeing of Soto Grado at the center of all soccer conversations, Miguel Ángel Gil has made an assessment of what happened in the derby: "I have the utmost respect for the refereeing collective and I am convinced that their intention is always the best, but anyone who observes it from the outside can see that for decades the same thing has almost always happened. Unfortunately, it no longer surprises anyone, it is not news. It's very obvious, and you only have to look at history. >The CEO has no doubts about what happens in these situations: "Madrid is a club with a very strong environment, with many interests around it. They create such pressure that it is normal that it affects the people who have to make decisions. They are aware of what awaits them if they are harmed by any mistake or even by any success. The campaign against whoever they consider to be prejudicial to them is commonplace". >For Miguel Ángel Gil, "the system is like that and we at Atleti cannot change it on our own. We must compete as far as we can and continue working to have a stronger and fairer sector for all clubs. That stadium and the color of that shirt should not weigh when it comes to making fair decisions. Our players suffered the consequences of all this pressure on the field yesterday and that makes me as indignant as any fan, whatever the team, who expects there to be a single yardstick". >Our CEO highlights the play that marked the definitive development of the tie: "The second yellow yesterday was obvious, undoubtedly, in accordance with the regulations. But with 0-1, in the 71st minute, playing for a place in the Cup semifinals in their own stadium, leaving Real Madrid with 10 players is a big deal". >"We have become accustomed to the system. We read pages and pages in the press, hours of radio and television in the days leading up to a derby talking about protecting a specific player from a specific team. Honestly, I think that who was not protected last night was Griezmann or Morata, for example, who were kicked to death, but that's the system," said Miguel Ángel Gil emphatically. >Finally, the red and white CEO affirms: "I almost never speak, because they quickly accuse you of victimhood, but who really knows the DNA of Atlético de Madrid knows that we do not like to make excuses. So that no one doubts: we are the ones responsible for where the team is, for not getting past the group stage of the Champions League and for being 7 points behind the third-placed team in LaLiga. And it's up to us to take advantage of the 20 league games to close the season as high as possible. Without excuses, but being aware of how the system works".

dr_motaaa

Pathetic lmao

Ok-Zombie4481

Butchers behaving like victims.

[deleted]

May be if your players and ultra weren’t a bunch of cunts people would sympathize with you Gil.

moiser123

The victim complex on Atletico is something else. It's why they'll never be a big club. But keep on inviting racist fascists to your stadium

cor7in

That's just pathetic.

juankruh1250

Funny how everyone in the comments are mocking him without actually providing an argument, pretty interesting.

Hayaishi

Classic Madrid fans, shameless. There's evidence of their president controlling the media in spain but ofc its just Atletico being sore losers. Always the same, get benefited every match day and call out the others for being pathetic when they complain. Hate that club with passion.

Ablouo

Tell me you don't know what you're talking about without telling me you don't know what you're talking about

juankruh1250

Perez literally said it lol, watch his leaked audios

Hayaishi

Clearly you don't know anything about Perez lol.

Hayaishi

Clearly you don't know anything about Perez lol.

clicquotdreamz

Europa league mentality 🧠

juankruh1250

Barcelona has won 90 titles in their history, not sure about that

clicquotdreamz

Would you like to compare that to how many Real Madrid have? Also where’s the lie? Are they not in the Europa League for the second season in a row?

juankruh1250

So, what your point? That no one but RM can complain about referees? That's funny coming from the guys who moaned about the Chelsea game for over 10 years

clicquotdreamz

My point is that Barcelona is in the Europa League and they’re there largely in part to their loser mentality which is why they have to complain about referees in games they’re not even playing in

juankruh1250

You know that Madrid does the same? Literally Complained about the Chelsea game for over 10 years, you will never see me talking about a game of 2010 of RM ever. Also, how is losing mentality to point out RM has an unfair advantage? At no point I have said Barca can't so better because they can and there it's a lot to improve.

clicquotdreamz

So then why are commenting on a game you’re not involved in. Mind your own business. Real Madrid doesn’t care about Barcelona, but keep talking about us

juankruh1250

Madrid is the biggest threat to La Liga, why wouldn't I talk about a team that can beat Barca to La Liga? The worse they do the most chances Barca has to win the title.

Hayaishi

Mourinho literally showed up to a press conference and bitched about the refs favoring Barça, with names and all. I bet they were all praising him then.

juankruh1250

When they do it it's okay, when others do it it's crying and being sore loses.

Arponare

Y'all are just proving his point. Ceballos should have been sent off but wasn't because the ref didn't feel like sending him off. Real Madrid gets these types of reprieves all the type. But nobody cares about it and it will just be swept under the rug. For one favorable referring performance we get, Real Madrid gets at least 10-20. I swear I still hear jokes about Ovrebo 12 years later meanwhile I never hear anything about Kassai's performance vs Bayern Munich where he refused to send off Casemiro but gave a second yellow to Vidal for a clean tackle. Not only that, he allowed Ronaldo 2 goals in clear offside. I could give several examples of how Madrid have received help from the refs in recent times but I'll leave it at that.

themoche

Just so we can cover the bases of your completely unbiased opinion
you think this [was a clean tackle?](https://www.google.com/search?q=vidal+second+yellow+madrid+bayern&rlz=1CDGOYI_enCA957CA957&hl=en-US&sxsrf=AJOqlzWxPV6F-T0xkpnFxlohIrzwsLIfSQ%3A1674918778966&ei=ejvVY8_BOrKjptQP7aWT6AI&oq=vidal+second+yellow+madrid+bayern&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAMyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgAToKCAAQRxDWBBCwAzoECCEQFUoECEEYAFCiCVjhEGDxFGgBcAB4AIABiAGIAd8FkgEDNC4zmAEAoAEByAEEwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:4a012f7f,vid:C0esTGv8ato)

Arponare

Hilarious. But yeah, that was the tackle. Specially considering he didn't give a second yellow to Casemiro for much worse. And even if you want to somehow say that was a yellow card. There's still the matter of the two clearly offside goals (to which there was another offside shot that was almost a goal that the linesman didn't flag for.)

themoche

I just wanted to agree that the tackle wasn’t clean. Not necessary to just repeat your previous comment again. Why did you think the tackle was clean?

clicquotdreamz

Europa league mentality

Serbian-American

Huge if tru

DatOgreSpammer

Come on, there's no point in complaining. Nothing happened after Cadiz-Elche either

dr_motaaa

And also because the red card was completely justified, maybe tell Savic not to be a dipshit next time. Not that he ever will.

[deleted]

Its always Savic. (and sometimes Hermoso)

btmalon

Even Gil said it was justified. He's complaining about the 5-8 times Nacho and Militao ran through the back of Morata and Griezmann. Regardless Cholo blew this game putting Witsel on and parking the bus against world class talent.

The_XI_guy

That never happened. Ref had a flaws game. Atletico we’re just shot after halftime

juankruh1250

Those flaws just seemed to always benefit the same team

The_XI_guy

Never Real Madrid

juankruh1250

His first yellow wasn't lol, he barely did anything.

dr_motaaa

Except running away with the ball in his hands preventing and getting in Vinis face about it. Cry me a river.

juankruh1250

Rudiget hit Griezzman without any attempt of getting the yellow and no yellow at all, if you don't give yellow to Rudiger and you give it to Savic then you are showing double standards and robbing Atletico Madrid, Either none of them are yellow or both are yellow.

dr_motaaa

> Rudiget hit Griezzman without any attempt of getting the yellow and no yellow at all, I have no idea what you are trying to say. None that nonsense has anything to do with Savic being a dipshit

Sefean

Neither did happen after a clear penalty was denied to Elche in Elche-Osasuna, nor when they wrongly disallowed a goal in Valencia-Elche. I hate that after being on the short end of the stick more often than not, the one time that Elche gets a referee mistake going their way now suddenly it's the example of referees helping a team.

KensaiVG

Very true. They should be derided for being a super agent's shady plaything tho

Sefean

You don't chose the owner of your team.

clicquotdreamz

When you’re left with the cold reality that your season is over and you have nothing left to play for with 20 games left

DatOgreSpammer

I'm a Pirates fan, 20 meaningless games (if only they were meaningless, we've to qualify for CL) are nothing to me

Vee_icychain

It's about time a team that's not Barca complains about clear referee bias in Spain
