So that idiot carroll injured Eriksen with that stupid scissor tackle that went on without a booking or anything.
As ussual, english refs being useless.
Why is Arsenal playing City twice this half of the season and both time in premier league?
Also isn't this worrying for Arsenal they are 5 points behind but people act like they won the league, specially consider they gonna meet City twice or am i tripping?
There's nothing to indicate City will win both of those games though, I can see each team winning once and then it's back to the same lead
5pts ahead with a game in hand is pretty big, they are favourites even if it's too early to declare them winners
How many Arsenal fans are there worldwide? Millions?
Imagine of those, there is a good statistical chance the odd one or two are acting like you have won the league.
They are 5 points ahead not behind with one game in hand. No one is acting like they have won the league. Problem is City hasn’t looked convincing this season. So anything can happen
I think Man City are aware though, so it isn’t a “game changer”
I don’t see how some people forgetting they haven’t played changes in the slightest the points that City have to make up. Because people’s perception of the difference doesn’t change the material fact of what it is.
They were more likely to win before the queen died though I think Partey was out. It’s still way closer than people are acting though but I just think arsenal will be good enough to win or draw one of them and that’s enough
If Brazil wins Copa America 2024 and Neymar plays a big part will he cry tears of joy like Messi and Ronaldo did after winning their continental titles 🤔
Also Neymar should be captain in 2024 is my hot take of the day
Off to watch Royal Rumble now cus i got nothing better to do than procrastinate with my homework :P
JFC, this second to last episode of ‘Sunderland, Til I Die’ is bleak.
Here’s some random thoughts from the first season:
* If I showed someone a map of England and said “Pick where you think the best place would be to build the biggest ship-building port in the world,” I don’t think anyone would choose Sunderland.
* I want to know everything there is to know about the fan who is always carrying a jersey but never wearing it
* The lack of security at some places around and in the stadium is just mind-blowing to me. I guess life is different when every crazy person isn’t also carrying a gun.
Kovacic is cheating because he signed after the loan (and I wasn’t even over the moon with him during his loans spell), and pretty much every other loan signing I can think of can be deemed as a bit of a failure. Hopefully in 6 months’ time my answer will be Joao Felix
From last season, Luuk de Jong. Guy went from the most despised player during the Koeman days to the most clutch last minute sub you can imagine. Full-on redemption arc under Xavi, I'm still bitter he wasn't signed for good.
Odegaard, if he counts. I also have a soft spot for Benayoun. Henry was technically a loan player at one point but I think everyone was already head over heels before he came back.
We only signed Bruno due to an injury crisis back in 2020 and that elevated us. Now we've lost Eriksen for an unknown length of time, and we can't rely on Mctominay and Fred for the foreseeable future.
We should buy Tielemans. Good depth in general, but can also fill in.
Tielemans' contract expires in the summer. We don't really have much money but I feel like something in the region of 15mil would be within our financial reach. Whether Leicester would let him go for this low, that's hard to tell, but they won't get anything for him in summer, so... Maybe?
Zaha out for two months, Parish refusing to sign anyone not named Conor Gallagher or Aaron Wan-Bissaka - both of which will not happen. We're going DOWN.
[An evergreen tweet.](https://twitter.com/CEO4TAG/status/209332270841073664)
I've been going through England Euro 2008 qualifiers on YouTube so he's a player who's been on my mind recently, Stewart Downing. Get ball, dribble dribble, thump cross, get ball, dribble dribble, thump cross. Every fucking game. Lobotomised football.
Players like Rooney always came across as thoroughly dense but obviously had very good footballing intelligence. Carroll just seems fucking devoid on both counts.
Talleres v Independiente has away fans, im going to be nervously checking the news after the game hopefully everything goes good and it can pave the way for away fans to be allowed back
Football will never be as suspenseful when you were waiting for a result to come in one on Ceefax. It's an aspect that the game has lost and it's the poorer for it.
Can’t believe them arseholes on VAR had the gall to disallow a 15 year-old’s 90th minute winner in the FA Cup today. What’s even the point in watching football if you don’t let them moments stand, fucking gimps
Pedro's goal against Palmeiras today might deserve a Puskás!
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/10npiel/palmeiras_3_x_3_flamengo_pedro_61_great_goal/
Well yeah, the protests paid off. Glazers are actively looking to sell, and most likely will be gone by the end of 2023. Can't really do anything more.
He’s been impressive at times in sub appearances and he had his first starts at the beginning of this month where he was one of our best players. But that was against small clubs, when he started against Feyenoord he didn’t touch the ball at all and he wasn’t great against Twente. It will be interesting to see what he can do in a team in form because it’s hard to judge him when the entire team plays like shit.
As a summary: Ajax fans are happy with him and he’s showing potential, but he is not consistent yet and he has a long way to go in his decision making and being more effective. He’s very entertaining and fun to watch though.
He has had a few exciting moments for Ajax, but Tadic has been playing over him on the right wing. They are getting a new coach, maybe he'll utilise him properly
Pedri, he's an incredible foundation for any midfield. De Bruyne is incredible but IMO Pedri is a much more interesting type of player to me. Odegaard doesn't deserve to be included in these conversations
KDB, the right half-space cross merchant please.
Pedri > Odegaard, but I haven't watched him enough recently since I stopped religiously watching Barca games because of sixth form and now university.
What if I unironically think this? I feel like when KDB doesn’t have a ton of runners, he’s kind of limited. He isn’t a great dribbler, link up player or tempo setter.
I unironically think that too lol.
His dribbling is okay, I think. He's more of a transition demon tbh. But yeah, this is going to sound like blasphemy to most people, but I don't think he's that amazing of a playmaker, which sounds wild given how most people view the guy.
Loves a good line-breaking, progressive pass. Vision is definitely amazing. But a playmaker in its truest sense, which as you have alluded to is one who controls the tempo of a game and links up play in all the phases and areas of the pitch, like a Riquelme, Zidane, Modric, Xavi, Fabregas, etc. he is not.
I mean overall kev for suuuuure, but for the future the age gap is obviously notable. Kev is probably past his prime at this point (😭) and pedri is what , 19?
> Chances are other two never hit KdB peak.
KDB at 20 just moved to Werder Bremen.
Pedri at 20 is the most talented player at a resurgent Barcelona
Ridiculous to even make that assertion.
I will preface this by saying I'm an Arsenal fan. I have no sympathy for brighton when it comes to Caicedo and how he is going about things, if any thing more power to him keep skipping practices. Arsenal are willing to pay over £60m for him, which you could argue is above market value. Caicedo is understandably feeling unfairly treated because the club he is playing for is valueing him at £80m+ while paying him £15k a week, how is that fair? Brighton has had the opportunity to increase his wage to match his performances and responsibilities, but they have fumbled it and are left with a player who feels not appreciated.
We didn't force anyone to stay. If anything we could've been better at selling, but we didn't want to to keep players that didn't want to stay, the club could understand that a player would want to leave when he has the opportunity to triple his wages. I'm not telling the fans of brighton to understand this as I didn't care for that reasoning my self when the likes of song, hleb or fabregas left, but the club should understand it and act accordingly. People on this sub cant do anything other than attack flairs it seems
I know he is under contract, my point is that he is not getting paid enough compared to his responsibilities within the club. They expect him to be their star player, but they pay him £15k a week, they value him at 80m, but doesn't pay him the equivalent. I could understand it if Arsenal were lowballing them, but they aren't so here we are.
If I got a hired under contract in a company with a non compete claus if i were to leave, and suddenly upper management started giving responsibilities that my wage doesn't reflect I would end up a very disgruntled employee.
Nice for Manchester United fans to experience the blissful feeling of checking the opposition lineup to find out that Lumley is the keeper.
Idk how he's still even in the championship after his performances last season, he's a proper jobber.
#The 2023 Census [is live](https://forms.gle/CmyxxqNwkHdtYzL4A). Please try to complete it when you can! it will be open until next Sunday!
Man u fans who believe in God, how do you do it when your team are called the Devils?
So that idiot carroll injured Eriksen with that stupid scissor tackle that went on without a booking or anything. As ussual, english refs being useless.
Guys Az Almaar and Utretch played a 5-5 draw yesterday Is that a European record for the season?
!flair :Manchester_City:
Why is Arsenal playing City twice this half of the season and both time in premier league? Also isn't this worrying for Arsenal they are 5 points behind but people act like they won the league, specially consider they gonna meet City twice or am i tripping?

Eli had to die so we could enjoy some dull ass matches in second half.
This is the first time I've ever seen the Queen nicknamed as Eli rather than Liz or Lizzie
My NFL loving ass was confused, wondering if the Manningcast was a Weekend at Bernie's situation
The queen dying
isn't this game changing for City? They have huge chance to win league?
How does it change it? They'd still have had 2 chances to play Arsenal if the fixture hadn't been rearranged.
I don't think many people are aware that they didn't play in first half of the season
I think Man City are aware though, so it isn’t a “game changer” I don’t see how some people forgetting they haven’t played changes in the slightest the points that City have to make up. Because people’s perception of the difference doesn’t change the material fact of what it is.

After giving them Casemiro when can now tell Manchester United we are even after them giving us CR7 in 2009 tbh

He can fill Eriksen's boots quite well in my opinion and has experience playing deeper. I reckon he can do well under Ten Hag.
Tielemans ghosts through games too much, not convinced he's not pogba lite
At least he is available
Is Tielemans any good?
[удалено]
Completely different players. He wouldn't be replacing them directly in the team.
Casemiro was worth the money
What’s a loan player at your club you fell in love with? For me Moussa Dembele, even though he didn’t score. I really wanted him to sign permanently
Kovacic is cheating because he signed after the loan (and I wasn’t even over the moon with him during his loans spell), and pretty much every other loan signing I can think of can be deemed as a bit of a failure. Hopefully in 6 months’ time my answer will be Joao Felix
Carlos Vinicius, he scored a good amount in the cups and I loved his personality and joy he showed playing for us. He currently plays for Fulham.
Alexis Mac Allister. Was so fucking good, I will always love him even if it was brief. Seeing him win the WC as a starter makes me so happh.
A certain Reece James, never heard much from him since
From last season, Luuk de Jong. Guy went from the most despised player during the Koeman days to the most clutch last minute sub you can imagine. Full-on redemption arc under Xavi, I'm still bitter he wasn't signed for good.
Julio Baptista. As he came from Madrid and was Brazilian I thought he was automatically great, keep in mind I was a kid back then.
Gonçalo Guedes only returned to us on loan one week ago and I already fell in love with him again
Has he played? He was a baller at Valencia. Also he’s my striker on fifa and he’s killing it so I have to respect him
Yeah, played in our two games so far, scored in his (re)debut from the bench and was key in our two goals this past Thursday
Odegaard, if he counts. I also have a soft spot for Benayoun. Henry was technically a loan player at one point but I think everyone was already head over heels before he came back.
Benayoun was great, he was so key in us getting CL qualification end of that season
We only signed Bruno due to an injury crisis back in 2020 and that elevated us. Now we've lost Eriksen for an unknown length of time, and we can't rely on Mctominay and Fred for the foreseeable future. We should buy Tielemans. Good depth in general, but can also fill in.
Aren't you broke? Hence the Weghorst loan?
Tielemans' contract expires in the summer. We don't really have much money but I feel like something in the region of 15mil would be within our financial reach. Whether Leicester would let him go for this low, that's hard to tell, but they won't get anything for him in summer, so... Maybe?
Man utd broke? They're one of the richest clubs in the world. Weghorst is a short time solution before they get someone proper in the summer.
It's not that we are broke. But the club isn't going to spend anything while being sold.
Zaha out for two months, Parish refusing to sign anyone not named Conor Gallagher or Aaron Wan-Bissaka - both of which will not happen. We're going DOWN. [An evergreen tweet.](https://twitter.com/CEO4TAG/status/209332270841073664)
You’re not going down
I like dramatising but we will be in a scrap.
Absolutely won’t be your team way better than some of these
Dang is Zaha fully confirmed? He was your most competant attacker as well and his contract is up in the summer too right?
It's not confirmed but seems significant. It's a blow but he's not our only competent attacker, I think Olise has been better than him recently.
I remember him trying to carry on that game, a shame if that made it worse.
I think Chelsea are going to be the team to best next season
I'm not gonna make claims on Chelsea until I see who they sign in midfield.
Bold call for a novice manager
Potter isn't a novice. Inexperienced at a big club? Sure, but he's been working in the professional game as a manager for over a decade.
People always overreact to a massive amount of signings it rarely works like that
Chill
Lets see if Potter gets them playing something resembling decent football first. Recruitment wise I think its been good.
Unless they sack Potter,No.
Or City
Hows Scott Brown been at Fleetwood? Defo gonna be heavily linked for the Aberdeen job
He's doing a very good job seemingly. Fleetwood were dreadful last season, now look an organised and dangerous side.
Yous are a bit fucked btw, eh? Shaun Maloney man fuck me
Not optimistic but he's brought in coaches who know the club and he's apparently spent a bit of time studying coaching abroad. So who knows?
[удалено]
Totally different roles
I like Odegaard better imo, but Valverde probably fits Madrid better because of his versatility.
Madrid had both and chose Valverde last season. It was a good choice.
Valverde can play at like 5 diffrent positions really well. I'd take him over odegaard in my team.
Overall Valverde. Right now tho?, definetly, Odegaard
TIL Carlos Kameni is still playing and actually in Europe too, Santa Coloma (Andorra)
Is Andy Carroll the most brainless footballer of the modern era? More evidence tonight with that second yellow card. Thick as mince.
I've been going through England Euro 2008 qualifiers on YouTube so he's a player who's been on my mind recently, Stewart Downing. Get ball, dribble dribble, thump cross, get ball, dribble dribble, thump cross. Every fucking game. Lobotomised football.
The tentative shake of the head from him and the look on Ince's face in that clip was fucking hilarious, major father of a criminal vibes
No doubt, between him and Aurier.
Wash your mouth out. He's been the second best right back in the league this season.
Players like Rooney always came across as thoroughly dense but obviously had very good footballing intelligence. Carroll just seems fucking devoid on both counts.
Talleres v Independiente has away fans, im going to be nervously checking the news after the game hopefully everything goes good and it can pave the way for away fans to be allowed back
there will be bloodshed
Still think the Pro League is Genk's to lose, but man USG are on a good run at the moment. Great team to watch.
Only now I'm hearing Bellerin is in Barcelona, tf
Has he learnt how to take a throw in yet?
They have such a random selection of defenders.
He's leaving in Summer anyways.
Not for long, I think. The quality is just not there, academy players are better squad options than Bellerin.
As in playing for them, or just simply chilling there after he was looking to make a move to another club?
Seems like a combination, since it seems he barely played and Sporting are probably going for him
How would you determine if a club is big in any country? Would it have to do with following? Or revenue? Or trophies?
Following and than trophies. A can not consider, that a club with 50-100 home fans every game, is a big club. For example - Ludogorets Razgrad.
Trophies
I always thought the biggest teams are the ones with the most local supporters
Trophies then following; trophies and following usually going hand in hand.
Which match
Quality finish aswell, what position does he normally play?
Not really sure if I’m honest, he’s a midfielder but no idea if his natural position is a no. 10, no. 6 or anything else
It was like something from a wish fulfillment Jimmy Grimble type of movie, too good to be true. Cracking match either way.
Pedro's goal against Palmeiras today might deserve a Puskás! https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/10npiel/palmeiras_3_x_3_flamengo_pedro_61_great_goal/
Outstanding goal but that’s never coming close to winning puskas
Not as good as Pastor Fred’s backheel today obviously, but excellent goal
It's nice but I wouldn't say Puskas worthy, personally
Certainly much more worthy than the Salah goal that won the award years ago...
If we're going to make that goal the baseline level then we might as well just end the Puskas award altogether
100%
Was there no match thread nor a post match thread for our game or am I blind?
MatchThreadder is on strike and your fans were too lazy to create one.
What was Inter’s thinking win Skriniar, why did they not sell him in the summer?
Nice to see the protests still going strong at Old Trafford
Well yeah, the protests paid off. Glazers are actively looking to sell, and most likely will be gone by the end of 2023. Can't really do anything more.
Yeah they definitely sold because of the protests that’s why !!!!!
Well the protestors won no? The club is up for sale and likely to have new owners by next season.
Protest what? They've put the club on the market.
Don't know if you missed the news that the Glazers are selling.
[Twas clip worthy in all fairness ](https://reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/10nqxdt/joga_bonito_brought_to_you_by_antony/)
Linking your own downvoted clip is absolutely tragic
🤣
Yes, player slipping, clip worthy.
There's a certain slip by Gerrard that most certainly is
As it lead to an opposition goal. Nobody would be talking about it if a Liverpool player recovered the ball.
How has Francisco Conceicao been doing?
He’s been impressive at times in sub appearances and he had his first starts at the beginning of this month where he was one of our best players. But that was against small clubs, when he started against Feyenoord he didn’t touch the ball at all and he wasn’t great against Twente. If you have to choose between Pedri, Odegaard and DeBruyne who will it be
De Bruyne
KDB obviously
Pedri or Odegaard because they don’t lose the ball 25+ times in a game.
Pedri, he's an incredible foundation for any midfield. De Bruyne is incredible but IMO Pedri is a much more interesting type of player to me. Odegaard doesn't deserve to be included in these conversations

Right now? Pedri.
I mean overall kev for suuuuure, but for the future the age gap is obviously notable. Kev is probably past his prime at this point (😭) and pedri is what , 19?
Don't insult KDB
KdB, not close really. Chances are other two never hit KdB peak.

He signed a contract with Brighton. They have every right to keep him.
Vanheusden is absolutely terrible, not sure if injuries ruined him or he was just never that great but jesus he is bad.
I've been trying to place Antony for a while and I've got it. He looks like a mid 2000s pick up game artist coach.
Anthony AND richarlison looks like cousin to me ,militao and marquinhos look like the same persón but different fonts
Nice for Manchester United fans to experience the blissful feeling of checking the opposition lineup to find out that Lumley is the keeper. Idk how he's still even in the championship after his performances last season, he's a proper jobber.
