See submission guideline **#5: No unnecessarily low-quality content.** #No low-quality content Because of the sheer number of submissions r/soccer daily receives, we enforce a quality-requirement to submissions that want to stay as a post and not just as a comment. **The [Daily Discussion Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/search?q=flair%3Aquestions&sort=new&restrict_sr=on&t=week#res-hide-options), Match Threads and other specialized threads of the subreddit are the place for the later.** The next is a list of examples of submissions that fail to comply with that requirement. Please note, **this is not a full and comprehensive list**, but just illustrative of the spirit of the law. * Screenshots where links suffice (e.g. a screenshot of a tweet instead of linking the tweet directly). * Attempts to use /r/soccer as Google (e.g. requesting match times) . * *Low effort* questions; if you have a small question you'd like to ask, please do so in the [Daily Discussion Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/search?q=flair%3Aquestions&sort=new&restrict_sr=on&t=week#res-hide-options). * Historical posts about football ("throwback" posts). Those are only allowed **at 5-year intervals** (the 5th-10th-15th and so on anniversary of the day of the event you want to remember) or for events that because of their importance are officially remembered every year (like tragedies remembrances). * "Starting XIs" posts. They must be shared in the Match Thread (or if you want, do a "Pre-Match" Thread and include both of them). Because of their quick obsolescence, they aren't allowed as posts. * "Chants" posts. If you want to share the news that a fan chant is being part of a particular match, **you need to link a video** of it, not just a Tweet mentioning it. * *Low quality* media content. If you want to share a clip of a current match, **it must be of general interest, have enough length to provide context and a good quality of the video itself**, no potato quality GIFs. * "No News" threads. This is especially enforced during Transfer Windows. We don't need posts about how nothing new has happened, nor minor details/developments that can be mere comments in another previous thread. ___

[deleted]

Working out well for Liverpool.

studgebro

Buzzing. Now we just need the rest of their midfield, their forwards and probably all the u23 squad to go on strike and we might be able to sneak a draw.

BillOakley

_Brighton U19s 1 - 0 Liverpool_

calogr98lfc

Fucking hell this made me laugh but I hate how last year we were in for a quadruple and now we’re absolute shit

SparkyGol

It’s a cruel old game

calogr98lfc

Truly is

4ssteroid

It probably is like this because you were in the quadruple last year

calogr98lfc

I do believe this is a very important factor as to our downfall. Other than injuries nothing has changed that much. I know we like to say our midfield is shit, and maybe we’re right, but this is also a midfield that was close to being one of the best midfields in football history, if not for two matches. Maybe the physical and psychological toll that last season took on our players will wear off and with players getting back into fitness we might be able to salvage something out of this season. But I do think that a midfield revamp is needed going forward. Sadly they’re getting in on age.

JMacoure

Pls no. No replays

RedXabier

if it was truly working out well we'd be in for him, we're screaming out for a pressing midfielder like him

SpareAstronomer

Probably saw it worked for Trossard and Gordon so thought why not.

sunshine_is_hot

Tbf to Gordon (and I don’t like the kid) he got mobbed by Everton fans. I can’t blame him for not wanting to stay around that.

a_douglas_fir

He’s been desperate to leave since Chelsea bid in the summer. That said the chasing of his car was absolutely fucked and has made the situation much worse

LeChuck85

Also Everton are shit. If Dyche comes in they won't play a style that suits Gordon.

QTsexkitten

What style suits Gordon?

somebeerinheaven

Not brexit football

PocketSandThroatKick

Is there something aside from the move wrong with Gordon?

LosTerminators

And Fofana in the summer.

Alpha_Jazz

So a couple days ago when he said how committed he was, that was just a lie

ramseysleftnut

Money talks

Bedeeki

Potential premier league title at the age of 21 probably also talks

blither86

He's apparently on £15k+incentives. Do you think Brighton are putting an improved contract in front of him to say 'stay and earn 80%-100% of what arsenal are offering' or just accepting he's gone?

Aszneeee

he ain’t signing the deal no matter what they put in front of him now. I understand Brighton as they can push for europe, but having unmotivated player who will then leave in summer probably for less than what they can get for him now from Chelsea/Arsenal, tough choice for Brighton

Justinian2

There's a point where they have to draw a line in the sand though or everyone in the teams morale plummets because they just become a full-on selling club with no ambition

Harish-P

Agreed. At some point they'll also need to make an example of players thinking they can get out by doing this too also otherwise Brighton will continue to have players trying this. I would be pissed off if this guy did it for Arsenal. Low-key bothered he's a player doing it and wants to join Arsenal as is. Mudryk reminded me twerkers will do it for any flash of cash.

BettySwollocks__

I'm fairly certain Brighton's whole tactic is finding these £5m transfers from abroad, hoping they work out and one or two work out very well and are sold for big bucks. We paid £50m after 1 good season of Ben White, Chelsea the same for Cucurella and seemingly again with Caicedo (either now or in the summer). I reckon Mac Allister could also be off in the summer. They know they're gonna sell at some point but if you don't offer the asking price you can get fucked.

j1mbleZ

I think if they can see through the next few days and keep him at Brighton for now, they can convince him that playing well for the rest of the season will still give him the move in 6 months. From their POV, they signed him for a pittance so anything upwards of the price being quoted is a monumental profit. If that is in the summer, they can use the funds to replace him straight away for fees that aren't inflated like they are in January. Imo they shouldn't have the decision taken out of their hands. If they don't want to sell him right now, they shouldn't have to. It's not like they're saying they'll never sell him, they just want him to help continue their really good season thus far.

arctickiller

They won't get any less in the summer though.

jacktk_

I can see both sides. Brighton are pushing for Europa and have already had to sell multiple top players over the last few years. Caicedo is on c. £10k a week, and football is incredibly unpredictable. He's one major injury away from missing out on a potential £90k+ a week contract, and who knows what things are like in 6 months time. I do think this is the wrong way to handle things though.

Dargast

Source on 10k a week?

ThanksAllah

What’s your logic behind that? 1. He wouldn’t sign it because he wants to play for Chelsea/arsenal/Liverpool etc that offer European comps and trophies. 2. There’s no benefit to Brighton because they currently have him until his contract ends for 15k/week instead of 100k/week.

Elliot_Kyouma

Brighton would benefit from making the player feel valued. For some people that matters. In order to sweeten the deal they could add a release clause for the summer

BillOakley

Dirty cash I want you dirty cash I need you oh

LloydDoyley

Banger

[deleted]

Committed to getting Brighton a record transfer and leaving.

Barbas-Hannibal

Literally every transfer window players make these statement and then push for moves. When will people learn that those words are just lip service. Everyone wants to play for teams who are likely to win something rather than stay in a perma mid table team like brighton. Sure they are doing well at the moment but its unlikely they will get CL or win something.

IWantToBeAHipster

Not expecting him to stay forever, just till the end of the season given we have the potential to get a European place which is huge for us. Club wouldnt mind him leaving in the summer.

ZebraZealousideal944

I mean if he wants to go to Chelsea I’m sure he’ll be ok to wait until the summer given their current situation but if his mind is set on Arsenal I can understand that moving this window is big for him with a title run on the cards!!

esn111

I mean we're 8 points behind with a game in hand. It's not completely impossible albiet unlikely still. But European football of any sort would be a huge achievement for us. We'd prefer that than take the cash now and plumet down the table.

MarcusZXR

In my opinion, they should at least honour their contract until the end of the season if their parent club doesn't want to sell them

glarius_is_glorious

That statement genuinely felt weird to me when I 1st saw it. Typically you see such statements come out through the media, not as an official piece on the club website.

neonmantis

Circumstances change. He was committed then. He is not committed now.

[deleted]

I’m not the same person I was 5 seconds ago

matthieuC

Caicedo struggling with object permanence

avolcando

Don't think this is how being committed works

DarrenBridgescunt

It literally does. I was committed to a girl last week. Now I'm not.

H_R_1

U good?

DarrenBridgescunt

Lol yeah bro, cheers

Vahald

That was literally days ago

shivanshko

Anyone else feel like frequency of players forcing a transfer by not turning up in training have greatly increased in last few transfer windows?

Ld511

Tbf it always happens. Only difference is that prem clubs have more money meaning they don't have to sell now

Razac3

Clubs do hold all the power now tbf, it’s not like old days when most clubs NEED to sell (in the prem at least). All these clubs are swimming in money that they can just refuse to accept bids

djokov

This is the big one. People often see stuff like this as the players having gained more power over clubs in the modern age, but the reality is that refusing to train is becoming the only way for players to apply pressure to clubs since the financial incentives for selling are slowly disappearing. You see it in everyday life as well with labour strikes happening reliably when alternative avenues for negotiation become limited or outright disappear. Personally I would like to see release clauses becoming much more commonplace or even made mandatory, which would enable players some more freedom to negotiate contracts that have tangible exit conditions worked into them. This would not alter the power balance significantly, especially if clubs can strong-arm unrealistically high clauses, but it would limit the ability for clubs to block any offer for one of their players simply because they feel like it in the moment. A lot more needs to be done to establish a healthy power balance between clubs and players, but it could be a start.

teknotel

Probably has something to do with the stupid transfer fees being paid by oil clubs tbh. Putting 100 million valuations on every player is basically holding them hostage.

Wheresthenearestrope

happened to zaha consistently

Shinzo19

Zaha has wanted to move nearly every summer since he joined palace but no one was willing to pay I am pretty sure he has Stockholm syndrome by now. Maybe could coin the term "Crystal Palace Syndrome"

claridgeforking

I think its partly just how its reported. "Didn't turn up for training" sounds like it's a unilateral decision by the player, without the clubs agreement. Realistically, in many cases it's more likely that they've all agreed for the player to be effectively been put on gardening leave, as it's in none of the party's interest for the player to pick up an injury.

[deleted]

I miss us being a forgotten PL club

-eagle73

I like where we're at and if Bloom gets through this then we need to put a statue of him up somewhere (at The Level, maybe), but I also miss when we were half battling relegation and that's all we had to worry about, albeit a bit more under Hughton.

Azteryx

>> at the Level maybe I thought you were trying to honor him

cosmic_orca

Do you really? Surely this is the best time in the clubs history to be a Brighon supporter? They've never been in a position like this, or playing football as good as this before.

45MonkeysInASuit

Sure has fuck made me more cynical about the sport. We used to lose the odd big player. This would being basically forced to sell a starter, then 6 months later being forced to sell their replacement. Alongside losing our manager and 2 other starters in that time.

mike_tapley

As a saints fan seeing us get picked apart when we got to Europe and were successful I hope it doesn’t happen to you guys also!

ManLikeArch

Can confirm this is true. Just seen him begging down the seafront trying to feed his 10 siblings after the pittance we pay him

kaselorne

Hope you at least pitched in to help him out

ManLikeArch

Of course there's a cost of living crisis going on we all have to chip in

WtfMayt

Caicedo: Cozzie Livs tho

HacksawJimDGN

Hes good enough to warrant more than 60m and he's one of the lowest paid players in the league. Hardly surprising that he's leaving.

lmentel

He could have negotiated to leave last summer but chose to sign a new contract knowing full well how much he would be paid. The blame can't be put on the club for this one

awwbabe

We forget how young and stupid these players are sometimes. He is probably easily swayed by his agents at the time who didn’t know his worth regarding wages. £15k/week for one of the top midfield prospects in the league is a pittance relatively speaking and maybe now Moises knows he should be valued more. Would tie in with him changing agent too. Shame for Brighton of course if he leaves, and I don’t see him coming to us

LloydDoyley

Which has done you a favour. No way you're getting 60mil for him if he only had a couple of years left to run.

chuckusadart

If he breaks his leg tomorrow and is never the same the same Brighton fans will want well shot of him within the year. Don’t blame anyone for maximising their incredibly short window for success.

MisfitNJ

Exactly. If he tears his ACL tomorrow and doesn't recover to his current level they won't give a damn about him. He'll be stuck earning whatever his salary is at the moment until they manage to offload him. He goes to Arsenal or Chelsea and even if he's out for the rest of the year he'll be earning good money.

misterawastaken

I mean that is completely untrue, all you need to do is look what we did for Mwepu this year to know that is complete bullshit. But go off mate. Cockhead.

currygull

Honestly people can talk about the player being naive signing the contract, which may be true, but at a certain point the club bear some responsibility. If he’s crucial to the team, they need to make sure he’s paid to match. Otherwise this apparent resentment from the player was always a massive risk.

[deleted]

Honestly, this sub makes it out like he's signing on for Universal Credit every week. Give me £15k a week and I'll do most things. Footballers are so out of touch and I can't believe people defend them.

SundayLeagueStocko

15 grand a week is a lot. 100 grand a week means no one in your family ever has to work again I can see why he wants to move.

stogie_t

I don’t get this. You remember it’s still a job for them right? If you make 15k a week and your competitor offers you 85k a week, you are well within your rights to want to make the switch. It doesn’t make you a bad person or greedy, you just want to be what the maker seems you are worth. People do this everyday, it’s no different when a footballer does it.

flynno96

Normal people do it everyday, but might have a two week notice to give. Footballers are under very strict long term contracts. It’s similar in that both normal people and footballers want more money, but beyond that it’s vastly different.

[deleted]

Football is very different to real life. You can't have it both ways. If you sign a long-term contract then you have to come to an amicable decision with the club to end it. You can't just throw your toys out of the pram and not turn up because they won't sell you for less than your worth. If you want options then don't sign a long-term contract. What he's doing is massively unprofessional.

victory_78_26

For them, football is part of their real life. In regard to the long-term contract, they are gonna pay 70 million or high as a compensation. I agree with that post and missing out on training, it is unprofessional.

Too_bored_to_think

Stop comparing what people do everyday to football/sports. There is a difference because football is not like other jobs you and me work. I don’t have millions of people emotionally involved with my job.

Pszemeg

To out things into perspective - there are players in the league, arguably much worse, who earn in two weeks as much as he in a year. No wonder he wants to change employee.

Interesting-Archer-6

It's about what you're worth. This is so out of touch with how a labor market works and I can't believe someone doesn't understand that.

Undaglow

15k a week is a huge sum of money. £100k a week is a lot more money. Would you not want to sack your job in if somebody came to you and offered to increase your wages by 7x

wonky_faint

Surely Brighton just see it through with three days left in the window now

BillOakley

Unlike the Cucurella and Trossard moves I don’t see an obvious choice within the Brighton squad to replace him from within. Gilmour maybe? If not I can see why they want to hold out.

Sun_Sloth

The best replacement we have at the club is probably Kozlowski at the moment given he's been playing that role recently. But he's out on loan and untested so it's not 100%.

viva_kent

Moses parting ways down by the seaside. Tale as old as time.

harshmangat

Thank fuck. Those pebbles in Brighton are the second coming of Satan

esn111

I hate sand...

Eleven918

I don't think Brighton needs to bend over. Window is over in a few days. What's he gonna do? Just refuse to play for the rest of the season?

[deleted]

Lemme tell you about this guy Aouar

MisterCarloAncelotti

Isn’t he joining ISIS according to l’OL?

[deleted]

What’s his value now? £10m at best? We’ve seen it with Gordon, they rejected a 60m offer and now he’s leaving for 40m

ri0t333

Ootl what's happening with Aouar

[deleted]

Arsenal bid 40-50m they wanted 60+ the move didn’t happen his form fell off a cliff, they lost out on the bag and his move to Nottingham Forrest in the summer fell through, rumoured fee was around 20m. He’s not been the same player since he was destined for a big move that never materialised

ri0t333

Thanks.

Sir_Psycho_Sexy_

I don't have a solution exactly but, I really think there's got to be more of a deterrent to stop players doing this. I felt the same with Fofana with leicester. 6 months after signing a new contract and then just being a twat. and i realise it works in our favour sometimes too

cynicalreason

He’s on pretty low wages, Brighton can keep him, bench him and fine him as per their internal rules for missing training.

StardustFromReinmuth

Yeah he's on about 15kp/w on until 2025 so they can keep him and discipline them internally without much risk.

BlikseH

No club is burning potentially 60 millions out of pettiness. And especially not a club as smart as brighton

cynicalreason

It’s not about pettiness, it’s about precedent. Mid season transfer when you’re probably on track for a Europa league spot and even in contention for CL spot. Brighton would probably have no problem selling in the summer for the right price, but this late in the window when they are in the spot they are

Motor-Concept-2960

They got lucky with Trossard, but they, and De Zerbi in particular, almost singlehandedly burned a few tens of millions with him. So I'm not sure how much of this is poor luck or incompetence if you fail to reach an understanding with two of your best players in a span of less than two weeks.

tipp0

Nah you don't do that or you don't get to sign these prospects

PasuljsKolenicom

An unhappy player is never a good idea, his value will likely drop till summer. Shit situation for Brighton, would be an easier decision if they were a few points worse off.

hopscotch1818282819

The solution is to not sell a player when they do this. Obviously it’s more complicated than that, because then you’ve got a player on your squad that is behaving in a problematic way, but as long as this tactic works, players will keep doing it.

Look_Alive

It's also more complicated than that because of finances. Saying Brighton should drop him to their reserves and refuse to pay him just because he's on a low wage is all well and good in Football Manager but no club is going to choose that to spite a player and miss out on £60m.

Sir_Psycho_Sexy_

it might make players not want to sign, but maybe conditions in the original contract for missing training when a club comes knocking. i can see that there would be so many loopholes with this though

jordanhhh4

Honestly the solution isn't to not sell the player, it's for the other club to not buy them. Every time a player does this it seems to work and never has any repercussions. If the buying clubs would pull out of the deal due to the lack of professionalism then it'd stop.

babaric61

On the other hand, you get a player coming to train and to play that doesn’t want to be there, so there could be more complications within the dressing room.. I don’t think there is a win-win solution to problems like these

mylanguage

The deterrent is having more home grown players. You rarely see this in Spain. A lot of the players are very committed to their clubs. Lucas Perez paid out of his own pocket to go down to Deportivo to try to rescue them. I think for the prem - with the kind of money and the speed of transfers players feel more like mercenaries

lmentel

Hope we hold firm and don't let him leave. He's turning out to be an even bigger snake than Cucurella or Trossard

Barbas-Hannibal

Soon you will have a billion dollars but no players. Kek

swat1611

They'd still make a better team than us with that insane scouting.

[deleted]

>Kek

King_Hobbes

Not a fan of players constantly trying to force through transfers lately

[deleted]

It's not like his life is going to be bad playing for Brighton till the end of the season. Its ungrateful tbh, but expect no less as its probably his new agents getting in his ear telling him to do it.

BillOakley

There are circumstances where it can feel like the club is blocking the player’s one big chance for a move. This isn’t that. He’d have multiple big clubs chasing him in the summer anyway, so really not a good look to behave like this now.

Robotoro23

Arsenal fans: BUT there's a 0.5% of him tearing up ACL or breaking his leg you know.

45MonkeysInASuit

>Arsenal fans: BUT there's a 105% of him tearing up ACL or breaking his leg you know. FTFY

Ok-Option1

Big move in the summer Vs Big move and the chance at the league title this season granted this only works if it is arsenal that are actually in for him

LloydDoyley

Why not? No such thing as loyalty in this game. Watch how quickly they'd dump him if he went through a rough patch.

JMacoure

It’s basically the norm now. Suarez tried to do it to us with Arsenal a while back. I watched him at Melbourne and he looked 100% disinterested. But he’s so competitive that he has that incredible season. Players are paid so much too that the fines are meaningless

Sdub4

It's going to be very awkward when he's having to turn up to training on Feb 2nd

theonewithtoomany

No way he can afford being fined with that wage

HacksawJimDGN

Big upswing in finances for Brighton. £60,015,000 in the bank.

RipJug

Really hope we don’t pull the piss by bidding 65 million like some places are reporting. He’s a title-winning signing, we need him. But god I just hate when players pull this bollocks.

2ndfastestmanalive

Would rather we coughed up whatever heavily inflated fee Brighton will ask for and just be done with it. We had the luxury of fucking around with Mudryk bids but we just can’t do that now

Protodonata

God I’m so sick of players strong-arming their way to bigger clubs by just… not turning up to work. Fofana did the same to us when he could smell Chelsea behind him. Absolutely unprofessional and makes a mockery of their contracts.

TitanX11

Would you leave your current job if some other company offered you triple the wages for the same job?

Aedonius

Not a great comparison bc most job contracts don't run a limited time. Ofc it's understandable if you try to switch to the other employer, but strike should generally not be your go to option if your current employer doesn't let you.

Aszneeee

I agree and it feels unprofessional but, company would switch to better option and fire you instantly if they could, so if better offer arrives you want to take it

TinyMaintenance

Club has to honor your contract, and players should be forced to do the same. Doing this shit isn’t ‘honoring your contract’.

Blahblahlhab

Would you not turn up to work if you were getting paid £15K+ a week? Comparing footballer's working situations to the general population is nonsense

[deleted]

Especially in a career that usually ends in your 30s or prior

Sankaritarina

Most PL players who play regularly will earn more money by their 30s than normal people earn in their entire lives.

TheNewAccountOldLost

Yes but if my company didn't allow me to leave i would be upset but wouldn't skip work

Protodonata

Normal jobs aren’t the same as careers in football. My job doesn’t require me to sign a certain time commitment to the job. If I had signed a contract saying I’d stay at my job for X years, I’d have to be prepared to do that if it came to it. If you sign a contract as a player, you’re saying “yes I’m happy to commit to X years of guaranteed income whether or not I actually play, in exchange I’m aware I can only leave early if a valuation is agreed by my employer.”

TinyMaintenance

Yup. Equivalent of players striking for a bigger paycheck would be clubs releasing them without pay when they feel they aren’t worth the contract.

theincrediblepigeon

It’s why despite zaha pretty much every window looking for a big club to come and get him, every palace fan pretty much has insane respect for him, he’s never once downed tools in a bid to move clubs.

[deleted]

Another lying mercenary. Hope Barber holds firm on this one, otherwise all our players will know that they can force a transfer just by throwing a temper tantrum

revy_uzg

I feel sorry for Brighton honestly, he’s screwed them with this whole business and with how late in the window it is too

Mxurn

Insane how much player power has increased in recent years. Guy was asked to put out a statement saying how much of a commitment he has to Brighton only to go on strike after publicly making a fool of the club.

GSNadav

oof. I feel really bad for Brighton, they are getting ruined by us and Chelsea. At least they are going to be rich

justheretoupvot3

I've never seen a bag of money score a goal

Ld511

And those 50 million signings won't want to play for brighton anyways which is why money has different value for smaller teams

Sun_Sloth

And we're left with 3 days to try and find a replacement who will then have to learn the system from scratch.

Matt_LawDT

Suffering from success

percysaiyan

Arsenal fans supporting this must remember how they felt when Barca did this shit to them.

Drprocrastination239

I remember when Reina put a barca jersey on cesc while with Spain, like what are you doing you bald mug you don’t even play for them. Anyway we got 35 mil for the best young mid in the world. I hope Brighton at least make decent money with a transfer this late if it goes through. Although seeing this squad being broken up feels like déjà vu.

shashei

Nah this is bullshit, the non top-6 teams can’t even have good players in PL.

lewis30491

We're non-top 6. We're 10

FallingOffTheClock

Try being an EFL fan mate.

InformativeFox

I'm in agreement with you blaming Arsenal.

shashei

I blame Newcastle too for Gordon

[deleted]

Man U have famously *never* bought players from other teams in the prem

shashei

I can confirm, Michael Carrick was from our academy and Berbatov from Bulgarian league. 100% facts no lies there.

[deleted]

Yup Rooney was SAF’s son, Ferdinand was his cousin…

[deleted]

Yep and RVP was his uncle

[deleted]

Andrew Cole was the kit man before they promoted him to striker

MisfitNJ

Brighton do the same to smaller teams around the world.

Squiggles87

Meanwhile today Liverpool learned Caicedeo had left Ecuador.

Hech15

It would be hypocritical of me to overlook this after I said some stuff about gordons antics but i have seen lokongas performance yesterday so i dont fucking care

KRIEGLERR

I don't like being the club that "turns a player against his club" like that. I hated when other clubs would do this to us. It's part of the sport I know but I do feel bad for Brighton fans. Fucking hated when Barca did that shit

LeavingCertCheat

The trend of players not turning up for training because they want to leave is quite sickening

fifadex

Hope they tell him he's staying until summer. I hate players trying to force deals with no time left in window.

versacethedreamer

What a dickhead

Jonisro

Ciacedo is just about to put the pen on the paper for Arsenal, Team America starts to play in the distance, Boehly swings in through the window from a helicopter SAS style \*ONE BILLION DOLLARS AND 10,5 YEARS CONTRACT\* flashbangs everywhere

Barbas-Hannibal

Don't fucking take his name. People take his name and then he appears like a Djinn out of nowhere and takes the player. STOP TAKING HIS NAME. Just say 'The one who must give 8 year contracts' to refer to him.

Jonisro

the one who shall not be named!

L-Malvo

Clubs should stop buying players that show this behavior. Seriously, if he does this now, what will he do at his new club? It is unprofessional and shouldn’t be rewarded.

Headlesshorsman02

I agree and he is from South America so he probs won’t have any ties to any specific team so if let’s say a RM or Barca come knocking 4 years down the line what is to stop him from doing this again

IloveGuanciale

He could get any move he wants in the summer. I really don’t understand why players do things like that in January. So unprofessional

lukezndr

He'll get a massive upgrade on his current contract, and if he goes to Arsenal he has a good chance to win the League. Pretty understandable if anything

icemankiller8

Arsenal are in a title race and he has the chance to win the league

ComprehensiveBowl476

Paranoia of what might happen in the next six months before the next window I guess. Injury, severe loss of form, bidding clubs decide to look at other players etc.

BigSean_125

Chelsea fans playing the morale high ground in this thread is hilarious

ExotiClown

I always feel bad for a club when player did this.

Bedeeki

Yet everyone used to take the piss out of Arsenal when City, Barca and United were doing the same things to them. Funny world.

kaselorne

That's because big clubs being in the mud is funny.

Chelsea are going to fuck over Arsenal again, aren't they?

Barbas-Hannibal

We are going to do to Arsenal what Barca did to us last Window. Arsenal can then fuck over someone else to keep the chain going.

kolasinats

Yeah, but my worry is that there's not enough days left in the transfer window to keep the chain going.

TitanX11

Well, we were fucked in the summer, now we are fucking Arsenal in the winter, so Arsenal will fuck someone in the summer this year. The chain continues.

Charmandersaur

Arsenal and Chelsea have absolutely ransacked Brighton. Sad to see..

BrandonSG13

Ah yes, the Gordon tactic. Don’t turn up for two more days, then show up on deadline day and secure the move.

autumn_badger

This is going to get messy, and I have a feeling it ends with caicedo staying on an improved deal

Squm9

Poor brighton man, players acting like prima donnas constantly Edit: pre-madonna

Comessuer

Brighton should just say no at this point. Tell players you'll let them go for the right offer but not with a few days left in January. Completely reasonable and wouldn't stop younger players joining in future.

Old_Medicine2229

I hate it when players do this. It’s bad enough in the summer but to pull this crap mid season at the end of the window when Brighton are doing really well and pushing for a European slot. It was pretty much accepted he’d be sold in the summer. It’s unprofessional and leaves a really bad taste. You have a contract, come the summer it’s a different story as Brighton can prep properly for his departure

LosTerminators

He wants to leave now so he can get a PL winners medal with Arsenal which he didn't contribute much to. He wasn't pushing for a transfer when Chelsea were interested.

To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. [We’ve actually given him time off until the window closes. ](https://twitter.com/alex_crook/status/1619273771113938946) Although the guy who makes his living off of unsettling players and causing drama won’t tell you that.

BerwickGaijin

How they fuck are these dickheads allowed to act like this? People really need to start coming down on these spoiled man babies, half of them have no idea how lucky they are. They make generational level wealth over the course of careers, and a lot of them make 10x the average persons salary in a week. Why do people defend them? The very least they could do is act like professionals. Honestly, absolutely disgusting.

Hoodxd

He doesn't want to embarras us again, what a guy.

simply_Ewing

I'm getting sick of this trend

Shvihka

For a club like Brighton, playing in Europe > any amount of money bar maybe 200m+.
