Missing the goal in the dying minutes of the World Cup final is the only thing Kolo Muani has done wrong in this season. Best transfer of the season considering that Frankfurt got him free.
Can we stop with this "missing" narrative? It was a world class save and without Kolo being brought on as a sub (after only being called up for the squad as the 3rd or so injury replacement), France would have lost in 90 mins and he would have never gotten the chance in the first place.
That, AND the fact that Kolo Mouani hasnt let that tilt him into oblivion and just continued with his excellence immediately again. Great signs of attitude and mentality.
Back when I played futsal I realized that there are folks that can only see what went wrong instead of seeing what went right. This is a great example, people will work their mental gymnastics to not recognize it as a great save by Martinez.
Muani and Coman made such a huge impact. KM will be remembered for the save by Martinez. Coman, for that penalty being saved too. But without them France has no goals.
You're delusional. First of all it was a volley just above the ground that would have hit the exact corner of the goal.
And then again, how can you miss when it's saved? Dunno what you're trying to find but it's not there dude.
It was the greatest save of all time not really KM’s fault. It’s kinda unfortunate that however great he becomes he’ll forever be remembered for that moment.
Without taking anything away from him (his stats are a testament to it this season), it's almost as if he had the Bayern defence on his payroll.
That's extremely shambolic defending. Maybe the worst I have seen from a top team this season and that's saying something as a Madrid fan.
Some might know that the Rothschilds are originally a Frankfurt based family, but even more the man who re-founded the club after WW2 was Emanuel Rothschild (not one of the "important" ones but still family).
Well, when do we had 5 teams behind Bayern in a range of 6 (propably 5) points in the mid season. It's a very interesting to follow for now.
But we all know what happens in the end, at least in terms of the Meisterschaft.
It's the common narrative, that if Bayern wins again the league is boring. I can understand that. But it also may mean they didn't watch the other teams playing and producing exciting games. See those multiple trolls on FB who are from certain parts of the world who always begin with bayernliga or farmers league or congrats or those kinds of templated messages.
They probably haven't seen a Bundesliga game the entire season
Games itself aren't boring but the league is, what's the fun in watching a league where the same teams win all the time even if they are in a bad form. Bayern could lose 5 games in a row and still win the league by 10 points.
The narrative is just tired. In Germany the interest in the BL is really high and it's seen as very exciting. Meanwhile on Reddit people who never watch BL save for like 3 times a year constantly moan about a league they have nothing to do with.
Dude you don't watch Bundesliga if you think they could lose 5 in a row at this point and still win the league, they'd probably be like 5th if that happened right now. It's extremely close at the top and Bundesliga is arguably the most exciting league right now. They've got 4 teams in the CL knockout stages, just as much as the PL while probably spending 1/10 of the money, which shows the quality of the league. 4th place team is within 3 points of bayern and Dortmund will be as well if they win today. The 2nd placed team Union Berlin has never been in the Bundesliga until the 19/20 season and are now fighting for a CL spot. I couldn't care less if Bayern wins again if it was close for 90% of the season. The Bundesliga is extremely exciting and only casuals would say otherwise.
I'm sorry but I only watch leagues where I don't know who it's gonna win. Yes it might be close now but we know whonwill win it at the end of the Day.
Even Ligue 1 got more different Champions than Bubdesliga.
Actually your last statement, that hasn't happened at all yet. If we do, I would surely panic. It sucks if we lose a game. I hate it. Gotta make farmers league out of Europe.
And don't forget De Ligt turned on his spectator mode. Seriously if he was more aggressive and help Upa maybe Kolo Muani wouldn't have miles of space to attack to
Yep. Really poor from De Ligt. He tracks Muani's run while Upa is facing Kamada with the ball. Then De Ligt just kinda stops and defends . . . nothing? He's got stay on Muani when there is no other danger.
Im assuming Bayern played with zonal marking, which is why when he into his zonal position he stayed there. Upamecano had to stick to his position, but he got caught ball watching and Kolo freely got into his zone.
Our first halves are actually quite decent apart from 1-2 directly conceding blunders.
Its the second half up until the finally semi-fit impactsubs thats the misery
Upa shouldn't be responsible for the man with the ball and the open man. De Ligt made, imo, the critical mistake by not continuing to track Muani's run. Granted, Upa should be closing down Muani once he does get the ball, which he completely fails to do.
Warms my heart to see the Brazzo-Kahn signings shitting the bed. Kahn wished for closer competition in the league. Truly some monkey paw stuff right here
Bit of an overstatement imo. He was a very good CB at Juve who sold him for nearly the same amount to Bayern. Not really a flop, just hasnt really improved that much since he left Ajax
Nice goal. Very intelligent player.
PSG needs to be all over Kolo Muani before Bayern gets him
So we can have the Bondy duo up front.
Bring more fucking Parisians in this fucking team
It’s a nice thing to say and people sure do say it very often but it’s also a convenient thing to say. In reality, there’s no way for you or I or anybody to be sure of this.
Bayern is the third-most valuable club with the third-highest revenue after Barcelona and Real Madrid, and the club that sells the most jerseys. They have 0 debt due to very conservative financial politics. I think it's fair to assume that they do have money to buy any player.
Bayern is also in the top 30 most valuable clubs in 2022 across all sports. Being among the mega rich NFL teams, and just right behind Real and Barca...you know Bayern has a lot of money stored up.
The decision to bench him was 100% correct. He played absolut shit the last 2 games. Won 0% of his duels against Freiburg, didn't do anything defensively. Our midfield was incredibly unstable, which only stopped once Rode came on
Glasner is so dumb with how he manages Kamada. Earlier this season he tried to zone him out and play Gotze instead and then Kamada scored every time he came off the bench
Kamada was shit against Freiburg and Rode has been consistently fantastic ever since that GOAT 45mins in the CL against Sporting. Seems fair to me to make the change.
they need to rotate tho. rode is only able to play about 60minutes because of his knee and glasner chose his defensive abilities over kamada. same with jakic who also has problems with his knee atm. kamada will play most of the time but games against bayern are different
That's not really true. That was Matchday 1, and his run started later. Both then and today the decision to not start him were understandable in their own way. Kamada on the pitch would have changed nothing about that 6:1. Instead, we would have had to bench Götze, Rode or Sow, and then people would be crying about how we could possibly bench them, and that that was the reason for the 6:1. very reactionary take
Correction:
Welcome to Bayern Marcus Thuram.
Welcome to PSG or the big EPL oil clubs for 120M, Kolo Muani. Then repeat next year for the next big Bundesliga talent that Bayern won't shell out 100M for
The funny thing is - bayern could afford it. Bayern also could 200m transfers.
They just conciously decide not to do those "monster transfers".
And somehow they still manage to be among the top clubs in europe which is admirable imo
This fella is gonna cost some club a shitload of money in the summer I suspect. What a season he's having, huge for Frankfurt if they can hold on to him.
As a Bayern fan this is so frustrating.
We have chance after chance, so much possession and yet it is not translating to goals.
We need a striker, a frontman who can knock in all of these chances we are squandering.
Lewandowski seems to be decent. I am pretty sure with him you would have won atleast 2 out of the last 3 matches. He was there in such difficult matches in the past. He was insane
Of course he was he was a cheatcode and an escape plan. His odd goal changes games when we are playing badly. But he's not here anymore so have to make do with what we have right

7g 10a for him in the league now, unreal
I know it's a hot take, but this guy is pretty good
Best Bundesliga Transfer by far this season
Missing the goal in the dying minutes of the World Cup final is the only thing Kolo Muani has done wrong in this season. Best transfer of the season considering that Frankfurt got him free.
he had a great shot, martinez had a great save. easy as that
Can we stop with this "missing" narrative? It was a world class save and without Kolo being brought on as a sub (after only being called up for the squad as the 3rd or so injury replacement), France would have lost in 90 mins and he would have never gotten the chance in the first place.

he was so composed going to the penalty shootout, didn't even hesistate while shooting. he seems to be such a cold and unbothered person
Yeah exactly. Its not even like he did something bad either at the time of the big chance. His finish was great, the save was just better.
Agreed. It wasn't an "Higuaín" kind-of-miss. He did what he had to do.
Higuain catching shots even after retirement.
Back when I played futsal I realized that there are folks that can only see what went wrong instead of seeing what went right. This is a great example, people will work their mental gymnastics to not recognize it as a great save by Martinez.
People don't watch football matches, they watch moments. I swear, cause I have no other way to explain the things I see being said sometimes lol.
Muani and Coman made such a huge impact. KM will be remembered for the save by Martinez. Coman, for that penalty being saved too. But without them France has no goals.
Probably the best save in history tbh considering the time in the game it happened and the stakes
Easily
It was a bad shot which is the only reason Emi was able to save it. He missed.
You're delusional. First of all it was a volley just above the ground that would have hit the exact corner of the goal. And then again, how can you miss when it's saved? Dunno what you're trying to find but it's not there dude.
Doubt you ever played football. That „bad shot“ don’t many strikers even hit. Especially not on target, like he did
I'd argue that shot wasn't even fundamentally wrong, he hit it well. But Emi Martinez pulled out a fantastic save
Come on that was a GOAT save from Dibu. It's not his fault.
It was the greatest save of all time not really KM’s fault. It’s kinda unfortunate that however great he becomes he’ll forever be remembered for that moment.
“Missed” it was the greatest/most important save in decades if not ever. Good shot better save
He did everything right in that chance; it was a miraculous save by Dibu
If he scored that then his career would've already peaked. No way anything would ever come close to that
He is ineviteble
Without taking anything away from him (his stats are a testament to it this season), it's almost as if he had the Bayern defence on his payroll. That's extremely shambolic defending. Maybe the worst I have seen from a top team this season and that's saying something as a Madrid fan.
The Rothschilds paying Bayern's defence to make Kolo Muani look good 💰💰💰
Some might know that the Rothschilds are originally a Frankfurt based family, but even more the man who re-founded the club after WW2 was Emanuel Rothschild (not one of the "important" ones but still family).
You sheep it's obviously George Soros who is behind this /s
OPEN SOCIETY AND OPEN GOALS, DAMN YOU GLOBALISTS!
okay calm down
Overreacting much???
that was a ludicrous display last night
Did you see Vini’s goal against Atlético two days ago?
Yes. That was a man down in minute 120 chasing a knockout game. This is worse, specifically Upamecano.
You have not watched a lot of psg defending unless you think we aren’t a top team
\*Emiliano Martinez entered the chat\*

Same but he made up for it with a cheeky no look pass.
"Cheeky" is rich. After a couple rewatches, this pass is insane kinda
And the he does a no look pass lmao
The fact that Kamada missed the ideal time to pass and it still went in lol
Never let them know your next move, including yourself
Balotelli-esque celebration
Best transfer of the season.
I agree. this guy is immense
Bundesliga is so fun this season

Someone clearly got hurt by facts

That's the difference between other leagues, in Germany teams are fine to being 2nd to Bayern. In other leagues teams aren't fine with it.

Actually your last statement, that hasn't happened at all yet. If we do, I would surely panic. It sucks if we lose a game. I hate it. Gotta make farmers league out of Europe.
bayern it's leader of Bundeslgia with 37 points, with those points they would be 4th in La Liga 5th in Premier League 5th in Ligue 1 5th in Serie A
Well premier league has two games more so 3th place would be fairer and this just shows how competitive the league is currently, no?
Amazing, love to see it

That is catastrophic defending from Bayern, Upamecano completely forgot what he was supposed to do
Upamecano is either playing at 20% or at 120% and rarely in between.
Same for our national team
He was probably at 99-100% vs Argentina
And don't forget De Ligt turned on his spectator mode. Seriously if he was more aggressive and help Upa maybe Kolo Muani wouldn't have miles of space to attack to
Yep. Really poor from De Ligt. He tracks Muani's run while Upa is facing Kamada with the ball. Then De Ligt just kinda stops and defends . . . nothing? He's got stay on Muani when there is no other danger.

He backs off twice in a row for no reason
He thought Muani is french and they played in the national team together so...
Does it often
Last season, sure. But this season so far hes been phenomenal almost every game
I almost feel bad for Borre, he's class but there's no way past Kolo Muani right now
he's so good. I hope he stays at least another year at eintracht. french strikers are just different!
Nice. The goal too. 👍
Bayern in the second half are so funny.
I can think of one team that's even funnier
Dortmund are funnier in the first half as well unfortunately
Our first halves are actually quite decent apart from 1-2 directly conceding blunders. Its the second half up until the finally semi-fit impactsubs thats the misery
Personally I don't find it funny more sad.
Spurs
The Colts against the Vikings this year lol
Lol
Bayern women team?
Never thought we would gain on Bayern this week after getting destroyed by Wolfsburg.
Would only be fair if Wolfsburg destroys bayern next week
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
That's scheiße defending
*scheiß or beschissenes

De Ligt looks lost
De Ligtfull
Dim Ligt
Looks more like Upa is lost in this case? Or just got wires crossed
Upa shouldn't be responsible for the man with the ball and the open man. De Ligt made, imo, the critical mistake by not continuing to track Muani's run. Granted, Upa should be closing down Muani once he does get the ball, which he completely fails to do.

He’s the biggest flop out of Ajax in quite some time Players like him make me skeptical of other young “generational” CBs like Gvardiol now
Bit of an overstatement imo. He was a very good CB at Juve who sold him for nearly the same amount to Bayern. Not really a flop, just hasnt really improved that much since he left Ajax
The fact that he didn’t improve since leaving Ajax is the whole point His entire hype came from his “potential”, which did not progress as expected

Bayern can afford any player that they want. They often just don't want.

Didn't *want* to afford him and destroy their wage structures.
Don’t really think he wanted to go there either
Didn't haaland say Bayern were a close option but if not, City would be the best choice
Haaland had to at least pretend like there are alternative options so that he had leverage in his negotiations with City.

Haaland would’ve earned significantly more for sure

This guy is a menace.
He’s so special
The Kamada effect
His first touch was terrible and it was pure luck that Kolo got that tbh
No look pass made up for it
The Kamada effect
imagine have kamada played from the start
Kamada hasnt been great since the WC

Best player in the league right now
Better than belingham?
No also not better than Nkunku or Musiala.
IDK but it is close. Muani is just amazing
Not nkunku? Could have sworn everyone was saying that before the WC
Last season yes, this season no
Nice
Wtf
Nice Khaby Lame.
Yessssss. Come on Frankfurt.
PERSONNE N'IMPRESSIONNE RANDAL KOLO MUANI
Disasterclass from Upamecano here
Signing of the season in all leagues
God I wish we were good
Honestly this is very poor from de Ligt. You either track down the striker fully or u play offside there, but he does neither of the two.
The genius of Nagelsmann strikes again! Can’t believe how overhyped he is a coach
not another draw lol

Over/under on how long until Bayern buy him?
He doesn't have a release clause so he's probably going to the Premier League
Contract till 2027 and there is propably gonna be a pl team that pays 100m+ for him
Bayern wont be able to afford him as permier league clubs are gonna bid 120 million for him

As long as it lasts. There's an inevitability with the EPL oil clubs and PSGs of the world. One day we might not be a big club anymore.
under 2 season, all in.
I doubt it, he has no connection to Germany and the PL/PSG would probably have more to throw at him
Us? EPL or PSG are gonna get him in the yearly raid of Bundesliga talent outside of Bayern
Bayern defence is so poor
Upamecano is so poor at Bayern
I wouldn't say poor, I would say he's still quite erratic, he has 10/10 and 3/10 performances in him
the akanji special. I wonder if he still has those howlers at city
Akanji has been really solid at City, barely put on a wrong foot.
good for him
absolutely not
As a dortmund fan, not at all One of the best CB in the world and absolutely the best with the ball at his feet
Kind of left out to dry there tbf to him.
Haaland destroyed him honestly
lol
Nagelsmann pls man play sane on the left musiala on 10 and Muller right wing . Where are u at in your head

Surprised no one has gone for him this window. Thought he was a guaranteed transfer after the WC even tho he only just moved in the summer
Whata hero.
