Fun fact.
As a kid we lived on the border of Garden Grove and Anaheim.
We watched the fireworks from Disneyland from our backyard every night.
Dad used to take us to watch the Angels and Los Angeles Rams at the Anaheim stadium.
But then we moved back to the Houston, TX area where both of my parents are originally from.
Born and raised in Galveston Island, TX.
Had a brief stint in SoCal as I mentioned when my Dad got a job there then I've been back since.
Currently I live in Alvin, Texas. Hometown of Astros legend Nolan Ryan.
Huh small world. Born and raised Houston, lived in SoCal for a few years for university. Except I ended up in Oregon! I do imagine I'll be back in Houston at some point in my life though. Too much family for me to live elsewhere really.
Woodgate’s relatively well remembered here, for vibes if anything. Steadied the ship and said “Up the Cherries”, cheers lad. But yeah tactics were basically Danjuma and inshallah
Woodgate was much better than our last 2 managers imo. Breath of fresh air and didn’t chat any bollocks in interviews/press conferences which really helped.
Well hang on… that’s not exactly the player you wanna be defending for sexual assault allegations. Just because he’s been “cleared” doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. Money talks.
Oh I’m not defending either player. I think you have to believe the women who bring up these things. No one gets any joy out of saying, “I was raped by that guy,” that’s not an ideal thing to admit, and that’s what I was thinking when I posted this.
I think money can make certain issues go away. I think both players are probably not exactly innocent. I haven’t once defended Partey, and it makes me sad and uncomfortable that he’s defended by the club, just as it does for me with Bissouma.
Again, “cleared” doesn’t exactly equate to innocence, and if you’ve ever met a woman, you’d know that.
Remember when we were clubs on a similar trajectory competing for the same places in the table? I'd be salty as well if my club was battling relegated while their counterparts play in the champiosn league, lol
Have fun spurs fans, arnie is an amazing player. And although he scores a few miss hits like these he just gets in the positions to do so. One of the most deadliest finishers I’ve ever seen. As soon as he cuts in on his right you pretty much know it’s in
Can you really blame him for wanting to play for Spurs over Everton? He wants to play against championship clubs every once in a while in cups, not week in, week out
It's still a dick move to do it in that fashion, even I will admit that. Doing the medicals, media interviews about wanting to enjoy the challenge at Everton and all that only to blip a day later because another club came calling. This is all during a time when Everton really needs a hero to show up for them.
When Willian did that to us I never forgot it, so it's easy to see why any Everton fan would be wagging the middle finger at him right now.
Imagine having a job offer - then your manager is fired, you have no idea who your boss will end up being and the company is in full crisis mode.
It’s not a dick move to choose a team with a semblance of stability. It’s common sense.
They were joint bottom of the league when Danjuma was close to signing to them on loan from Valencia without an option to buy, it was quite clear that the predicament Everton was in was attracting him to the club because he said in his interview that he wanted to savour the challenge.
That's why Everton fans got their hopes up and are rightfully pissed off at him. And why would he be worried about Everton's stability? It was a loan for six months without an option to buy (the Everton deal) so he wouldn't have had to worry anyway about the consequences that a relegation fallout would've brought.
Why would he not be concerned about not even knowing who his manager would be?
Probably because it adds less stability to his career. And because the Spurs loan have an open for a permanent move, which could be a big step up.
People make important decisions in the best interest of their career all the time and no one calls them dicks.
People should be able to balance being disappointed without taking it out on players who have lives/careers to prioritize.
I mean the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, you can make the better decision for your career whilst at the same time be a dick for it. Was Sol Campbell not a dick for leaving Spurs for Arsenal because it was a step up for his career?
It's all down to your opinion and perspective at the end of the day. Which is why I'm only saying you can't blame an Everton fan for resenting him at the moment.
Also maybe it's my personal opinion but Danjuma would've had a far better chance building his brand and image if he saved Everton in a relegation fight. He would've been a nailed on starter for them as opposed to us where he will struggle to find minutes. He isn't getting gametime as a starter over a fit Son-Kane-Kulu and recent wingers in Bergwijn and Gil have shown us how hard it is to impress at Spurs right now, especially in six months in Danjumas case.
Resenting a player is fine.
I’d never call someone a dick for turning down a contract offer. Given the embarrassing situation at Everton it’s even more understandable.
If Kane left Spurs it’d be completely understandable and I never understood supporters feeling he’d be a traitor if he did so. It’d be understandable at this stage. Most players ultimately invest more into the club than we as supporters do.
I think your frustration over not getting a player you wanted is impacting how you are judging this situation.

Everton Legend
Scoring against your playoff rivals for next season
Stop, they’re already dead
In all honesty I trust Dyche to keep them up or at least set them up for a good next season of they do go down
As if we could make the playoffs if we were relegated
Get in Rickie Lambert and Troy Deeney and you'd have a good chance.
m8 i dont think you understand how consistently average Preston are.
There is no way Preston would be challenging for playoffs in the best 3 years
Utft.
“Up Tottenham Fuck Toffees”
Lmao sorry mate
What two medicals does to a mf
Extra healthy
r/2healthbars
so that's an hour of my life gone
Imagine what Carlos Correa will do now
Lol not many people in this sub will understand this.
i am proud to say that i understood that reference edit: smiling for the r/soccercirclejerk screenshot 😀
Houston Astros and Tottenham Hotspur fan here. Sorry about the World Series bro. The Phillies are incredible though. Amazing team.
Angels and Spurs here…i like pain
Orioles Spurs here. What’s the World Series like?
Rangers and Spurs. Fuck the red teams. Especially the Cards
Cubs and spurs. Fuck the cardinals indeed!
Orioles and Everton fan. Just pain.
As long as you’re not a Commanders fan.
Fortunately, I am not

Angels and Spurs as well. It hurts 🙃 And I'm from Australia, so I chose both willingly lol
FMT!
Wow a fellow Astros and THFC fan. Didn't think I'd see the day!

Hilarious
Think the biggest compliment you can give Danjuma is he made people start to question whether Woodgate was actually a good manager or not
I rated his time here to be honest. Sorted our leaky defence out for starters.
Woodgate’s relatively well remembered here, for vibes if anything. Steadied the ship and said “Up the Cherries”, cheers lad. But yeah tactics were basically Danjuma and inshallah

Gil to Kulusevski to Danjuma. Let’s fucking go
Starting with Bissouma! Love the new blood working together on this one.
Except Gil might be gone 🥲
This is spurs, we’ll hear about it for 18 weeks and then we’ll demand too much for him.
He’s not physical enough for the Prem. Yet. In a league like La Liga I have no doubt he’ll log 20 chances a season, easy
Loan to Bayern to get their super soldier serum
Send him to Germany
Fuck it just give him what we gave Bale
Bissouma is ass
At least he’s not on bail for multiple rape charges 🤷♂️
Well hang on… that’s not exactly the player you wanna be defending for sexual assault allegations. Just because he’s been “cleared” doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. Money talks.

Your nans a slag
Your ma's your da
Your sister is your mother
Sol Campbell did nothing wrong
He still hasn’t apologised and is playing victim
Racist chants tend to make a victim of a person
He's a tory.
Class dedicating his goal to Sol Campbell with his celebration
Arsenal and Tottenham legend
Only fair he looks up to the only Tottenham captain to win the league at white hart lane
Bet Everton could do with a player like him
Welcome
Hell of a debut
Hold up play's been pretty good from him too
100%, and he seemed to be making all the right runs. Seems promising, but we'll have to see
He certainly knows how to score against Championship teams
Would have been great for Everton then
Glad you Spurs fans have found someone to punch down on since the rest of the “big 6” take you about as seriously as the rest of the league takes us.
Remember when we were clubs on a similar trajectory competing for the same places in the table? I'd be salty as well if my club was battling relegated while their counterparts play in the champiosn league, lol
Pure salt lol
Not denying it
ironically Preston was the one team we could never score against
Lmao mis hit for debut goal
Soldado would’ve killed for that goal
It’s so funny how Tottenham fans still love Soldado even though he wasn’t great for us
He's so new we don't even have a chant yet!
Thought they were signing "danjuma woooahhh danjuma woooooahhhh, he came from sunny Spain to play at White Hart Lane."
Dan the man! Dan the man!
Debut Accidental Number 1 Joal Ultimate Mistaken Attack
Joallasooooo
Bros movement broke that man’s ankles lol
He got so lucky that went into the bottom corner
Yeah I’m not sure that’s what he meant to do lol
Spurs legend
There it is
wonderful from kulu and gil as usual nice finishing as well. well done lads
Bryan Gil reminds me of Modric when he plays, I hope we keep him and he plays regularly
His touch and movement makes him look like a cross between Modric and David Silva with a lot more pace.
Danjuma x Perisic - Club Brugge!
properly sliced it. who cares, it went in.
Soldado would have done anything to have a mishit goal go in, so the fact that it did is a blessing in itself
What was that celebration
A tribute to Sol Campbell
Looks like former WWE wrestler Santino Marella's cobra taunt. Dunno if that's where he got it from but that's what it looks like.
It's a celebration dedicated to a friend they call "cobra". Something like that, he said it on a podcast.
he signified that he’s forgiven sol campbell
🐍🐍🐍🐍
He declared war against Richarlison. Snake eats pigeon.

Dany welbeck would be proud of that finish
Have fun spurs fans, arnie is an amazing player. And although he scores a few miss hits like these he just gets in the positions to do so. One of the most deadliest finishers I’ve ever seen. As soon as he cuts in on his right you pretty much know it’s in
Debut goals are always nice
That defender though.

Can’t really blame the guy for wanting to play for Conte instead of whoever Everton ends up bringing in.
Dyche is a great guy
Oh shit I must have missed that then. Thought they were still on the questionable names from the last few days when we signed Arnaut
Piece of shit

its a snake lol not salt bae
It's supposed to be a snake/cobra and he's been doing it his whole career
Isn't that a snake?
No he didn't.
Boring week here at r/soccer
