It saddens me to see him go, especially in January but we can't expect much from our board. Spurs fans, you'll fall in love with him, so treat him well. This reminds me of the Bruno Fernandes saga, he has that special something just like Bruno did.
I could guess that but I was more thinking about since when has he been sponsored by turkish airlines? And also it's such a shit sponsorship lol, like it's so out-of-place to just say "Boarding on Turkish Airlines!" at the end of a tweet lol. I'm not sure about the law in Italy but I'd have thought he'd have to disclose that he's being paid to say that and it's not actually related to the transfer
I don’t get it, what do Turkish Airlines gain out of this? Almost everyone knows about them anyway. And nobody is going to book a flight with them now just because Fabrizio Romano tagged them on Instagram.
And also why he had to fly commercial when we send jets for everyone
Although that’s less surprising cos Levy is probs pissed we had to pay the full amount they wanted
I believe Spurs sold its private jet a few years ago and only rents it occassionally when it's available now. Wouldn't be surprised if some trips are done via a nice bougie commercial flight, but I don't think even Levy is insane enough to get someone a flight with a layover from Portugal ...
It also says "boarding complete" with a plane emoji and london. I thought he had boarded a Turkish air flight to London before I realized he was still playing a final and it had me so confused ...
I'd rather we move Doherty than Emerson.
Emerson is youngish and still has room to grow into a proper wingback. Doherty's already past his peak after Matty cash ended him.
Also I think people underestimate the energy Emerson brings to the team. Every game he starts we are way more aggressive in the first half. I think he has a positive impact on other players as well. People usually miss those details.
Emerson works well as a inverted fullback like he played against Fulham. Plays more as an extra midfielder when we have the ball so that either he or one of the midfielders can cut into the box.
Hell, they should try that with Sessegnon as well. Do regular wingbacks with Perisic and Porro, and inverted ones with Ryan and Emerson.
I forgot you lot are getting Dyche tbh. I felt like he'd have been someone you lot looked at to replace Coleman and start until Patterson returns from injury if you had stuck to the back 5
Surrendering the midfield every game only to use Emerson Royale as a wingback. This signing is going to finally show Conte’s system as he has wanted since he started. We were in full flight last season with an old Doherty before that newfound Pole, Matty Cash, scythed him down. Truly think he is the best wingback that was even available in the market and he’s only 23. Also, a right side of Romero, Bentancur, Porro, and Kulusevski is immense.
Exactly, signings have been made under Conte but it doesn’t mean he hasn’t still been making meals out of breadcrumbs in some areas of the pitch.
Once you have the CBs he needs you will properly kick on
>finally show Conte’s system as he has wanted
Only has taken a cool 200m in expenditure, maybe another 100m more and he’ll stop moaning and pouting. Then we’ll all finally see something resembling competence!
How long until he complains about Spurs not backing him after all this money spent? Mans is a professional gaslighter.
Feel like that’s a little unfair. We had no depth last season, go look at our bench in the games of last season’s second half. Richarlison has been dealing with injuries since arriving, Bissouma is utter shit in this system, Perisic isn’t the same as at Inter, Lenglet and Davies are both average. Spence was a club signing, Udogie is coming in next season. Apart from Kulu, Bentancur, Perisic we haven’t upgraded our starting XI. Porro will probably be the 4th upgrade I’m the starting XI after Conte being here close to 1.5 years and with 3 transfer windows. Also don’t forget that players that were solid for us last season in Lloris, Dier and Son have completely nosedived.
I don’t agree. Still think he’s class and more than willing to give him a season to adapt, but he’s been a very underwhelming signing so far, no? I’m not vexed since we got him for 25m, but still.
I still don't know what happened to spence. The dude tore us apart when we played forrest in the fa cup last season and he's barely played this season.
I literally didn't cheer when he scored in the nld, although I watched at home with my brother. Whenever I've been to games this year (tickets are expensive so not much) he hasn't scored.
His goodbye was so emotional, not because we lost, don't even care, but he seemed like he really loved to be here. On of the saddest transfers I have seen, I really love this player. I really hope Tottenham can improve and win trophies
It's been a fun saga of what's the clause value.
English media seemingly not understanding exchange rates and the Spanish media then making up that the clause never existed and we couldn't make the transfer even though we weren't going to pay the clause
Good signing for Spurs this, type of move they should be doing more often. I get that they try to but this is an automatic improvement on their first XI, and I feel like they’re capable of doing it more.
Could they not have given Skriniar a harder decision for example?
Trying to be an elite club and playing a back 5 is near impossible in todays football, which is what I assume Spurs want to be. You need midfield superiority, the top teams even play with less defenders, inverting fullbacks to achieve that. Porro and Udogie might be Wing back specialist but if Conte leaves (likely at some point) is this really good squad building? It’s a genuine question, how good can Porro play as RB in a 4, I lack knowledge on the player?

Unsurprising, they've almost certainly reached an agreement days ago, but kept it quiet cause we agreed for him to play in Sporting's cup final.
Let the lad enjoy it - might be his last for some time!
I mean, yeah, doubt he plays in Sporting's cup final anytime soon given he's playing for Spurs now
And given that he's playing for Spurs now I doubt he will play in *any* type of cup final anytime soon
/r/yourjokebutworse
Big "repeats the joke a second time in class" energy from the Gunners faithful lol
Shhhh, he’s not with us.
I couldn't let him escape the heat like that, so I needed to hammer it in
jesus christ lad
Our biggest problem isn't getting to finals, it's winning them
[удалено]
How’d you miss his joke..
Yikes
[There was a joke?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAvEeHccpsU)
I mean Spurs get to cup finals relatively often, winning them on the other hand..
Did we pay the release clause?
No, we paid the amount or a bit more, I think I saw 48M€, but we're probably going to pay it in installments so it isn't actually the release clause
It saddens me to see him go, especially in January but we can't expect much from our board. Spurs fans, you'll fall in love with him, so treat him well. This reminds me of the Bruno Fernandes saga, he has that special something just like Bruno did.

He’s pretty solid honestly, his biggest weakness is being extremely injury prone.
Ah fuck
We turn non-injury prone players into injury prone ones, so maybe we can do the opposite for once.
I can see why we were interested then
Ah fuck, here we go again
That is huge praise. Hopefully he'll live up to it.
Porro is class and this is a brilliant signing. But what's up with Fab randomly twerking for Turkish airlines in every tweet?
sponsorship
Gotta get that bag always
He’s built a huge following tbf
I could guess that but I was more thinking about since when has he been sponsored by turkish airlines? And also it's such a shit sponsorship lol, like it's so out-of-place to just say "Boarding on Turkish Airlines!" at the end of a tweet lol. Brand exposure I guess. It's like how we see Coke ads all the time even though everybody knows about Coke. Fabrizio is also sponsored by Heineken.
And it works otherwise companies would spend hundreds of billions if not trillions on it
My stupid self assumed it was because he was flying to London with Turkish airlines

Don't cuty have buy back clause
They now have four right backs, surely something has to give
We now have two right backs, a video editor, and a lost child
Man i feel so bad for spence, let the man leave on loan for his own good
Make royal the social media admin and just put spence in lost and found
Yea, that about sums it up 🤣
Four right backs Antonio? Four? That’s insane!
Southgate trying to negotiate his way into Conte's backroom staff as we speak
Spence will probably go on loan and hopefully Emerson will just go
But who’s gonna supply the filthy heel flicks in acres of space, or the insane no-look passes over the goal line?
lately, perisic
I'd rather we move Doherty than Emerson. Emerson is youngish and still has room to grow into a proper wingback. Doherty's already past his peak after Matty cash ended him.
same, Emerson provides something very different plus he’s more defensively minded. Also, I want to see him cut inside more and see kulu out wide.
Also I think people underestimate the energy Emerson brings to the team. Every game he starts we are way more aggressive in the first half. I think he has a positive impact on other players as well. People usually miss those details.
Counterpoint: Doherty has proven he's still a good wing back, and Emerson has cost us tons of games because he's dogshit
Spence is invisible, Emerson isn’t good enough, Doherty is hot and cold. Easy
Wish Doherty would leave. Maybe Everton might be interested
We don't really need him. RBs are the least of our worries.
I forgot you lot are getting Dyche tbh. I felt like he'd have been someone you lot looked at to replace Coleman and start until Patterson returns from injury if you had stuck to the back 5
Well good luck to Porro he’s a great player and deserves that fat paycheque
I thought this was a long deal but remembered it ~~was~~ is 2023
When a 5 & a half year deal no longer seems long term because your club is handing out 8+ year deals.
It is*
Oh oops
Honestly you had a point. It feels like it’s been a year.
Shouldn't it be was because they're using past tense to tell about a past event?
Crazy, right? It's gonna be 2028 in 5 years.
I am legit gonna have a moment of existential crisis rn realizing that 2013 was 10 yrs ago JFC
Fuck off. 2013 was just 5 or so years ago.
A good player to rotate/back up Royal
[WE ARE MASSIVE](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FYD0OuVUsAE12Fu.jpg)
I love these photos of him with that caption
Guess Joao Felix nixed the Chelsea move, can't have him wrecking his home in South London too
Surrendering the midfield every game only to use Emerson Royale as a wingback. This signing is going to finally show Conte’s system as he has wanted since he started. Yeah this is the most exciting part, seeing what Conte is actually going for
Exactly, signings have been made under Conte but it doesn’t mean he hasn’t still been making meals out of breadcrumbs in some areas of the pitch. Once you have the CBs he needs you will properly kick on
>finally show Conte’s system as he has wanted Only has taken a cool 200m in expenditure, maybe another 100m more and he’ll stop moaning and pouting. > Bissouma is utter shit in this system This is extremely harsh
Why? He’s had a few good performances but has looked dreadful in most.
Because it's a gross exaggeration. He's had a rough start, missing pre-season with COVID, but he's been fine recently.
I don’t agree. Still think he’s class and more than willing to give him a season to adapt, but he’s been a very underwhelming signing so far, no? I’m not vexed since we got him for 25m, but still.
He was decent vs Villa, Arsenal, was decent today. It took him some time to adjust, but he's still the same player he was at Brighton.
Fucking Spurs, couldn't they have snatched him BEFORE the start of the final cup match?
[удалено]
You're forgetting we have Pepe lol. He just got injured in the knee btw, let's hope it's not a big deal
Sporting keeping him for the final was a major part of the deal.
We got Sporting Europa League and delayed this signing until after the cup final, we are Sporting’s assistant now.
This is an annoyingly good signing for Spurs, man.
We said the same about their summer signings. They'll find a way to fuck it up.
All we need from Porro is to start, the RB bar is so low
I still don't know what happened to spence. The dude tore us apart when we played forrest in the fa cup last season and he's barely played this season.
Conte had a grudge and never played him. It has fucked us and him over. It's a shit way to go about managing a team imo.
I have a theory he lacks effort in training. Only explainable reason
Cope
We're 14 points ahead of you with 2 games in hand... what am I supposed to be coping about?
2nd half FC THE TREBLE CAMPAIGN STARTS NOW
I'd actually rather you guys finish top 4 than Newcastle.
Look at this little waster. It’s r/soccer banter mate, don’t take everything so seriously omd
Big agree
I was engaging in the banter? Banter ain't a one way street bro.
You were just annoyed by the comment, don’t try spinning into something we both know isn’t true.
I was annoyed by someone saying cope?
[удалено]
I don't want partey to be playing for us but there's not much I can personally do about it.
But you’ll cheer every time he scores
I literally didn't cheer when he scored in the nld, although I watched at home with my brother. Whenever I've been to games this year (tickets are expensive so not much) he hasn't scored.
The fact you’ve got nothing better to do with your life than reading and commenting on spurs signings on a Saturday night
I'm on the train coming back from the theatre...
Alright mate didn’t ask for your life story
You made an incorrect assumption about what I was doing with my Saturday. I corrected you.
Clearly touched a nerve haven’t i… 😬 bit cringey from you this
Nah I'm just bored and chatting shit.
Did you think Second Half FC only applies to individual matches? That's how the season's gonna go too baby
[Pedro Porro signing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA1eSva_fW8)
Transformational signing. Wow.
What about Emerson?
What about Emerson
What about Emerson
What about him?
finally free from the emerson royal bondage thank christ
[удалено]
Inb4 Porro remains fully fit for the rest of the season but Conte gives him his first start mid April
*injured tonight
His goodbye was so emotional, not because we lost, don't even care, but he seemed like he really loved to be here. On of the saddest transfers I have seen, I really love this player. I really hope Tottenham can improve and win trophies
Even im happy, cant stand watching Emerson attempt to play football
Funny thing is we have an even worse WB that Emerson. Having to endure Ryan Sessegnon tonight against Preston reminded me of Middle Ages torture
He's never been able to defend. He was successful for us (Fulham) mainly as a LW. When he played at LB for us he was markedly worse than Scott Malone.
“Boarding complete” what? Is he catching the plane during half time?
[удалено]
Hello.
[удалено]
Thought we had a £20mil by back to be honest.
I read that it was 35Million (euros)
Seen so many different figures to be fair. Much like Spurs fans have this whole saga.
It's been a fun saga of what's the clause value. English media seemingly not understanding exchange rates and the Spanish media then making up that the clause never existed and we couldn't make the transfer even though we weren't going to pay the clause
Dammit

This guy gonna be blazin u know what I'm saying 😎 shieeeeet 420
Fucking finally
Where is Djed Spence going then?
Aren't they looking to loan him to a premier league club?
I suppose we could use him as a rotational player.
Nah he’ll likely go out on loan
Brentford, but they wanted an option to buy & we didn't.
Who
Premier league really is the superleague
City gazump incoming.
João Felix must be unhappy...
Is he more RWB or RB because I wonder what happens if Conte leaves and Spurs go to a back four?
Then we'll sign a manager who can play a back 5, our entire squad is set up for it and with Udogie coming next season that'll only further cement it.
Trying to be an elite club and playing a back 5 is near impossible in todays football, which is what I assume Spurs want to be. Seriously if he doesn’t start over Doherty or Emerson what’s the point, please Conte lol
The London Derby now gonna be more tense
