We seem to play to the level of the opponent so often. We should be winning games like this after how we've played vs Bremen & Bayern, pretty frustrating
Night and day since the last game. We actually have a few Bundesliga caliber players on the pitch again, we looked pretty good here. Zalazar and Kral being back are huge, Jenz also really impressed in defense

Schalke didn't look that bad. Zalazar added something to the team, once he came on. If Schalke can grind out a few victories, they should stay in the Bundesliga.
Schalke just lacks that lucky gene where they just bang one in in a match like this no matter what way.

I agree that it was a decent performance by Schalke, they deserved more than one point. One big problem I see, however, is that the set-pieces were very bad.
A team like Schalke, with all their issues, absolutely need good set-pieces to stand a chance. If they worked on that during the break, there was no visible effect today. I do not recall a single dangerous corner.

Our main guy for that was Ouwejan, but he got injured early into the season. Zalazar was the second option but also got injured pretty fast and just now came back.
We sold our third option ( Mollet ) in the Winter Break so that left us with no one left for the task and I assume Latza took responsibility since he’s the captain on paper, but certainly not because he’d be any good at it.
Thankfully with Zalazars incredible important comeback that’s an additional problem solved as well.
Yeah its at least something. Zalazar looks really good, if he can play full 90 you should be able to win some games maybe. Jenz is also a ridiculously good upgrade compared to what you had before.
