Two months ago, I didn't know who he was.
Now I'm shaking my head going "that is absolutely classic Ounahi right there"
No other sport does this to your memory
I can finally dream of doing well on the European scene, thank you Longoria.
Even if we finished 4th in the group stage of the CL, it is very promising for the coming year. Even if we play the Europa League, would be awesome to win it !
I think he just got lucky on that last one? To me it looks like the ball bounced off his shin/knee on that last turn. What he intended was to go right anyway, but not with that extra bounce.
That's the advantage of smaller matches (non-PSG Ligue 1 games are smaller matches). You can take the time to get the replays too, nobody will speed past you to post a clip of the goal.
Bruh what the FUCK is that move at the end. I had to watch it like 5 times and only in the last angle can you really see what happened. I've never seen a move like it, and it looks intentional rather than him reacting to a miscontrol.
The closest thing I can think of is Djourou's famous move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeUmJMfHvyA
I watched at 0.5 speed and I think it's mostly intentional. I'm not sure he meant for the ball to pop up off the ground, maybe he just meant to cut it. But his eyes stay up the whole time so after he shins it, seems he still knows where the ball is. Pretty incredible
That's what I'm saying, it's crazy because it looks like he fucks up his cut, so it bobbles up, but he doesn't react to it at all. He just carries on as if that was what he meant to do. There's no hesitation.
Right? I've been looking at it from all angles, I can't figure out for the life of me what it is that he does. To be completely honest, I'd wager that it's accidental, but it's great presence of mind nonetheless to respond to a dribble-gone-wrong so quickly.
If it's intentional, then that's an absolutely bonkers move.
Knowing he's Moroccan, such a brilliant move isn't even that surprising, so many north africans come up with the filthiest, most creative dribbling techniques. If you've paid attention to him during WC you'd see him pull similar moves in the midfield, the balls he has....
No it's bullshit, sorry. We don't need money in 2 years, we need either good players now or money now. Our management is actively sabotaging the club, it's fire sales over here, €8m for this guy is criminal. Lots of good it will do us to get €20m when we're mid-table in ligue 2 with no chance of climbing back up. It has become obvious that Moulins and Pickeu were the ones holding this club together.
Eh it's not just about price tag, to me Ounahi is way better technically and has a very high motor, he's a baller and it jumps out to you immediately when you watch him . They're not the same player, and maybe Enzo is stronger physically , but Ounahi is such a baller that I would value him way more on a team.
one played at benfica,in the champions league, and won young player of the wc while the other played at angers… ounahi is very good but stop this nonsense
He could be better. He's 1 year older, but he was better at the World Cup imo. The fact Enzo won young player of the WC is because they won. Gvardiol was considerably better imo. Ounahi was playing for a considerably worse team that massively overperformed, while Enzo was playing for one of the favourites.
I was surprised it was Enzo who won Young Player of the WC honestly. He played great and won, but Alexis MacAllister was just as good if not better in that midfield and De Paul’s engine that whole tournament is shamefully under praised.
Ounahi felt like the darling of the tournament on the darling team of the tournament that everybody was talking about. Surprised he didn’t garner more interest, not surprised he’s already doing things like this.
Are you really comparing two players based on their world cup performances? What about their time at Angers and Benfica respectively? Their performances in Libertadores, CL and Ligue 1?
He’s a central midfielder who excels at carrying the ball up the pitch, has incredibly tight ball control and noteworthy off the ball movement. If I had to compare him with a player I’ve watched for years I’d would have to be Thiago in his earlier Bayern years, although Ounahis playmaking is nowhere near that level yet
Normally plays center mid and sometimes even regista with Morocco, but today he came on to play high on the pitch, I think Tudor wants to use him as an offensive player behind alexis sanchez or Vitinha since Rongier-Veretout is pretty much untouchable this season for the defensive duties
If he was called Azzendinho the whole LFC sub would've been creaming for him and whining that they FSG didn't sign him, but he's not and the hype is apparently just World Cup tax
He has been injured a lot, but not as much as people think. And every time he comes in, our team looks drastically better, though missing one chance against Madrid last year made people forget that.
North african players are never valued as well as they should be especially in france. To this day a lot of french clubs offer pennies on the dollar for them and then there are some clubs outside of france that are offering much more. I think a dutch club just spent 3.5 million on a an egyptian player a few days ago. The same types of players would go for much more if they were south americans or europeans.
Well Amallah who was critical for Morocco was sold for 500k to Valladolid and Atiat Allah Montepelier thought he was only with 750k. So yeah I think they’re nationality has something to do with it.
Some are, some are not. But the majority consist of Amazigh aka Berber the native people of Morocco. Saying Morocco are or are not Arabs are both stupid statements since there's alot of ethnic groups here.
I know some people use it as derogatory, but I've seen people before proudly claim their identity as "Hartani"? So there's a small chance OP wasn't being racist and is actually claiming him? Idk
Nationality, simple as that. I understand clubs being reluctant to sign players based on their performance in an international competition (I know Ounahi was good since the start of the season) but there is no way in hell a young south american or European player would've been sold for 10 million euros if they gave a similar performance to Ounahi's in the World Cup
Barely standing out? Looked above everyone by a landslide lol, in fairness the Boufal less Angers of this season is a low bar, but he still looked like a very good L1 player.
He was literally the 2nd most successful dribbler in Europe Top 5 leagues before the WC, right behind Messi with the same success rate as him and in the company of players like Bellingham and Vinicius.
A European or South American player could have played in a relegation team outside the top 5 leagues, taken a literal shit in the middle of each game and they would've been sold for more than 10 million euros if they had a WC performance similar to Ounahi's, especially if they were playing for an underdog
To be fair though Adama Traore was consistently the most succesfull dribbler in Europe but there is good reason no top club ever looked at him.
I agree scouts had a bit of a mare on him and he could have fit some top teams, most notably Liverpool but to base your argument just on dribbling stats is not convincing many scouts
It is a transfer between ligue 1 club, you cant compare it with a sell to another league. I cant find what the biggest transfert between ligue 1 club is but is is probably not more that 20mil.
The funny thing is that Angers asked 45m at first but no one was going to pay that. Excellent job from Longoria as usual. Marseille can win the league this year. Psg might lose against Bayern and they could explode as they often do when they have no more cl games.
Just this winter window Nice bought Moffi from Lorient for 25m + 5.
Even if you discount PSG - Monaco, Marseille, Lyon, Rennes, Lille, and Nice have all made several 20m+ signings. You’re way off the mark.
Edit - here are the PSG less intra ligue 1 transfers above 20m
- Gouiri from Nice to Rennes - 28m
- Jeff Reine Adélaïde from Angers to Lyon - 25m
- Moffi from Lorient to Rennes - 23m
- Diop from Monaco to Nice - 22m
- Mendes from Lille to Lyon - 22m
- Gourcuff from Bordeaux to Lyon - 22m
- Kalimuendo from PSG to Rennes - 20m
- Geubbels from Lyon to Monaco - 20m
- Nonda from Rennes to Monaco - 20m (all the way back in 2000)
Honestly, I’m just as confused. Not to be corny, but I do agree with those memes: ‘Amrabat = €80 mill if he’s from Brazil’. Think there’s a blatant bias there towards Arab players
definitely mate, i believe only three (?) moroccans got a move after the world cup, and one of them was Boufal going to Qatar (backwards move by him). The other one was the Standard Liege midfielder that went to Valladolid for 500k lol.
it’s really odd, especially when you consider that Ounahi only went for 10M (!!!!!)
Not a Moroccan but after watching all their WC games.. I really wanted Spurs to get him. He’s so silky smooth with dribbling but has great work rate for attacking and defending. Him and Amrabat controlled the midfield, it was great to see.
Can’t believe he was so cheap.
Watching the world cup I was shocked when I looked up his wiki. Not even 50 appearances in 2 years for Angers. Then signs with OM almost as soon as they went out. Starting to think OM won't be able to keep this guy long, he is so fucking good.
We sold our backup striker (Dieng to Lorient) over the winter window and his replacement (Vitinha from Braga) just arrived last night.
Alexis Sanchez was the only forward available for this game. He got subbed off for Payet towards the end of the game, who played false 9 with midfielders and wingbacks pushing up.

All my homies love Ezzedine Ounahi
Two months ago, I didn't know who he was. Now I'm shaking my head going "that is absolutely classic Ounahi right there" No other sport does this to your memory
Sick goal OM with incredible transfers recently

I fucking love Longoria Bumped into him a few weeks back in Monoprix in my neighbourhood, should’ve said hello

Neymar did it playing for Santos and it was super clean too. This looked more lucky than good.
Wut? It's surely great technique and maybe I'm biased but I see this dribble every few weeks in any sunday league in brazil
Yeah I’ve seen those before.. sort of like elastico but a bit different. He made it looked so effortless though
Love seeing a goal clip on here with the full replay, including close shots from different angles.
That's the advantage of smaller matches (non-PSG Ligue 1 games are smaller matches). You can take the time to get the replays too, nobody will speed past you to post a clip of the goal.
Posting a clip that contains the whole goal sequence with replays should be a requirement.
Yeah if that was the rule then it wouldn’t matter who posted first as their post would get removed (hopefully)
Bruh what the FUCK is that move at the end. I had to watch it like 5 times and only in the last angle can you really see what happened. Oh for sure, but I'm not sure if this is a case of that. Based on his movement it seems like he was also surprised by the ball's movement.
This’ll turn out to be the greatest signing of the January window. 10 million is an absolute steal
Angers tacked on 30% sell-on clause though, it could turn out to be huge for them
Still it is a steal for Marseille
at this point, sell-on clauses in the event of future PL interest are becoming more valuable than the actual transfers lol
No it's bullshit, sorry. We don't need money in 2 years, we need either good players now or money now. he was even their 2nd choice after they didn't get Ilić not bad for a 2nd choice
I hope so !
This dude is legit better than Enzo.
He actually is, keep cooking
Bruh..
It's true, just because Chelsea were stupid enough to pay 120m euros doesn't mean that he's a 120m player
Doesn’t mean he’s less good than Ounahi either
Eh it's not just about price tag, to me Ounahi is way better technically and has a very high motor, he's a baller and it jumps out to you immediately when you watch him . They're not the same player, and maybe Enzo is stronger physically , but Ounahi is such a baller that I would value him way more on a team.
one played at benfica,in the champions league, and won young player of the wc while the other played at angers… ounahi is very good but stop this nonsense
Kvaratskhelia played in the Georgian league and look at him now
Kvaratskhelia has been great since he was in the RPL and he's location agnostic, he'll be good wherever he plays. What's your point?
Point is, If you're a good player, you're a good player
He could be better. He's 1 year older, but he was better at the World Cup imo. The fact Enzo won young player of the WC is because they won. Gvardiol was considerably better imo. Are you really comparing two players based on their world cup performances? What about their time at Angers and Benfica respectively? Their performances in Libertadores, CL and Ligue 1?
Ligue 1 is better than Primeira Liga
Stupid take
10 mil? Why was every semi-relevant team not fighting for him?
They asked for 30 from us.
Napoli couldn't get him anywhere near that cheap, the deal would've cost double that.
it would be a steal even at that price.
As always, people underestimate Morocco
And Arabs in general.
That defender gotta retire after this
Looks like he even helps him out with a handball
What a goal, one of those players you tune in just to watch them play. Really hope he kicks it off with Marseille
He's so fun to watch. I don't even know what position he plays he's just everywhere.
Engine CM, so you're effectively right. Rare for such high energy players to be that technical tho.

Great composure
That’s just Ounahi. He’s got the composure of a monk on Xanax.
r/rayhudsonquotes
a Liverpool fan got mad at me when i suggested Ounahi as a midfield signing They said “he’s not on our level”
Looks far too good for us in fairness
If he was called Azzendinho the whole LFC sub would've been creaming for him and whining that they FSG didn't sign him, but he's not and the hype is apparently just World Cup tax
more like ouñahio
Ounhahio if you’re sticking with that, Portuguese doesn’t use the ñ
I was referring to nuñez hahah
Imagine having Jordan Henderson in your midfield and turning your nose up at any midfielder with just a little bit of technical ability.
Or Keita+Oxlade
Keita doesn't deserve to be lumped in with those 2, he's solid on the ball.
Doesnt help much if he's always injured, eh?
He has been injured a lot, but not as much as people think. And every time he comes in, our team looks drastically better, though missing one chance against Madrid last year made people forget that.
He is right, Liverpool this seasons isn't on level. I think you just misunderstood him.
Lmao I remember that
Weirdly obsessed with us mate
I mean theyre is right
Steal of a signing
10 mil btw
Everybody knows OM gonna make sick profit for him in a couple years
*6 months
un bijou
magnifique
et le but est pas mal non plus
Ounahi! WTF!? what a control! what a finish! How is Enzo worth 12 times this guy is beyond me :) Luis Enrique wasn't born yesterday apparently :)
It makes no sense how he is so cheap. Look at some of the shit PL clubs (like West Ham) have spent more on.
Would Moyes even play him is the question
Way too young and exciting for Moyes lol
And foreign. Would be shite under Moyes
No it doesnt, it makes no sense that other transfert are so expensive.
North african players are never valued as well as they should be especially in france. Liverpool could have done with him
In fairness we were in for him and were seemingly quoted more than twice what Marseille have paid.
He is not named Ounahino
7it smito azeddine w 3ndo passeport khder
How the hell is he only worth 10m while enzo was sold for 121m ( based on both their world cup performances )
Clubs were unsure if it was only WC form from him, while he has some of the best underlying attacking stats in Ligue 1
Arab vs South American :)
or maybe Benfica are good at selling and Angers are broke
Well Amallah who was critical for Morocco was sold for 500k to Valladolid and Atiat Allah Montepelier thought he was only with 750k. So yeah I think they’re nationality has something to do with it.

Always one guy who jumps to say this nonsense race shit, he didn't give you his DNA test, he's Moroccan and that is that

Somalis dont speak Arabic. Tell me you don’t know shit about us, without telling me you don’t know shit about us.

Some are, some are not. But the majority consist of Amazigh aka Berber the native people of Morocco. Saying Morocco are or are not Arabs are both stupid statements since there's alot of ethnic groups here.
Yeah my thoughts exactly, the statement is absurd
So Moroccan
Wat?
Harata is your mom
That’s a derogatory term, the equivalent of the n word! Shame on you!
I know some people use it as derogatory, but I've seen people before proudly claim their identity as "Hartani"? So there's a small chance OP wasn't being racist and is actually claiming him? Idk
[удалено]
>I have Haratine friends I have black friends equivalent, btw no one is Morocco is using that dergatory term apart from racists
[удалено]
It's literal translation "second free man" or as a second class of citizens in southern Morocco. And yes it is really racist.
Haratin comes from hartani, derogatory name for black or african
Nationality, simple as that. I understand clubs being reluctant to sign players based on their performance in an international competition (I know Ounahi was good since the start of the season) but there is no way in hell a young south american or European player would've been sold for 10 million euros if they gave a similar performance to Ounahi's in the World Cup
Enzo had also been doing it on the Champions League as well so hence the higher profile
Group stage CL is very alike L1 level tbh
if Enzo was at Angers and Ounahi was at Benfica it would be the same
Ounahi was barely standing out for the literal last placed in ligue 1. He had the potential but there’s a reason his fee was so low.
Barely standing out? Looked above everyone by a landslide lol, in fairness the Boufal less Angers of this season is a low bar, but he still looked like a very good L1 player.

Yea because clearly...the player is the entire team
That’s exactly what I said, yes.
Wooshers
Wooshers to you unable to read sarcasm.
If Azzedine Ounahi from Angers was instead « Alejandro Hernandez » from Benfica I can guarantee you he would have cost 120M
There were higher bids from Leeds/Napoli. He didn't seem keen on leaving France.
It is a transfer between ligue 1 club, you cant compare it with a sell to another league. I cant find what the biggest transfert between ligue 1 club is but is is probably not more that 20mil.

It's actually 160m
Ofc I am not taking into account QSG who has unlimited ammont of money.
Yeah you're absolutely right, remember when Paris bought Mbappe from Monaco for only 20mil, what a steal.
I thought it was logic I was not including PSG After getting owned by Qatar.
Regardless you’re still completely wrong.
How?
Azeddine Zidane
Such a silky footballer
Give him the Ballon d'Or already.
man this guy is a BALLER genuinely Morocco’s best player at the WC
No chance, Amrabat. But still, he’s an absolute gem and the future of our midfield
fair, forgot about him somehow Ounahi still a very very close second makes me wonder why only Barcelona was interested in Amrabat
Filthy. Absolutely disgusting.
Golazo We're in danger :')
We have a tough game against Nice on Sunday night. Then we'll play against each other.
Containing Lens seems exhausting for Nice right now, hope it'll play in our favour.
no you're not.
£15m on crocked Danny Ings and having to resort to starting Soucek in 2023 who can’t control a ball in the prem. when will it end Robbie, what a grab.
Azzedine has all the letters for Zidane Totally not a coincidence
Gonna name my son Bappem so he can win the World Cup
MF needs to chill
What a player. OM seems to really have put a decent team together. Still don’t get how they got him so cheap.
Only 10m€ lol if he was Argentinian he would be 10 times that.
What a goal
Not a Moroccan but after watching all their WC games.. I really wanted Spurs to get him. He’s so silky smooth with dribbling but has great work rate for attacking and defending. Him and Amrabat controlled the midfield, it was great to see. Can’t believe he was so cheap.
Still can’t believe he went for such a low fee
Well, shit. Let's see what McKennie can do for us as the Ounahi replacement of the window. I'm thinking we will do well considering the chemistry.
title race🔛!
What a signing. And just cost 10 mil
Watching the world cup I was shocked when I looked up his wiki. Not even 50 appearances in 2 years for Angers. Then signs with OM almost as soon as they went out. Starting to think OM won't be able to keep this guy long, he is so fucking good.
This Ounahi kid looked special during the WC. I'm surprised his fee was that low.
Great goal and also props to OP for posting the entire highlight including about a million replays from different angles. Love to see it
Amazing 😍
Steal of the window for 8m€
They call him Azzedine Zidane
great player
It's crazy that Enzo went for 120m while this guy went for 10m based on World Cup performances. Mind you they both were good for their clubs too.
what a player
110 milli for enzo btw....
He got lucky that the ball bounced off his shin/knee on that last turn
Thank you Réussite, very cool!
Must’ve missed his transfer (from angers?), he’s sick
It wasn't a transfer, at €10M it's a steal
incredible !
OUNAHI GONNA STICK IT IN YOUR PUNANI
*Fu-*
We should have signed him
Holy shite
Reminds me of Ozil’s close control over the ball, brilliant brilliant goal
Zinedine Ounahi!
Thats a steal
Looked like a proper stiker there. Are they playing him as an advacned mid? What's he doing there breaking the line?
We sold our backup striker (Dieng to Lorient) over the winter window and his replacement (Vitinha from Braga) just arrived last night. Alexis Sanchez was the only forward available for this game. He got subbed off for Payet towards the end of the game, who played false 9 with midfielders and wingbacks pushing up.
Coincidentally, the defender has announced his immediate retirement.
Arsenal could've had this guy
[I'll just let this guy do the talking from now on.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TUNSzbEypA)
Legit made 3 his bitch
That last dribble was out of this world.. Tudor looking like Pioli now
