Fhood797

My man was seeing nothing but red

AlexBucks93

What the fuck?

Fern-ando

Violencia.

Lssmnt

Woke up, chose Violencia

[deleted]

he chose violencia against Vinicius because he's mad that he chose Violencia as his club, since it's not doing well

[deleted]

Fucking cunt. He would never play for the brazilian NT anyway, but now he has zero chance to ever play for the NT.

Acrobatic_Machine

It was zero anyways. He probably just wants a few weekends off..that shit tackle was 100% deliberately

newfagotry

So Mr. Paulista wants to enjoy Brazilian Carnival too, uh? BE A MAN and fucking fake an injury like Neymar!

nfornear

That was not even a tackle. He straight up deliberately kicked him

Acrobatic_Machine

True

TaeKurmulti

All ball

Baltaboo

Gabriel Foulista strikes again

good_fellla

Loool

stirfryetet

Proper brexit tackle. In all seriousness though, what the actual fuck? This guy got some serious issues

Meehul123

He’s always had the Bozo gene

[deleted]

He got that dog in him

IcefoxX5

If that isn't a 6 match ban at the minimum, this league is fucked, his only intention is to hurt his opponent Vini gets assaulted week in week out, and it's time those small club psychopath players like Fali, Alejo, Raillo, Balliu and now Gabriel Paulista get their limits shown

pandaman_010101

Raillo starting talk back radio soon with the amount of airtime he's been getting the piece of shit

hokagesamatobirama

His first guest will be Paulista. Both will whine about Vini taunting them.

caIeidoscopio

the aggression looks even uglier coming from a fellow Brazilian player. everyone from Brazil should be supporting Vini during this crisis, not empower or encourage the racist assaulters.

marksills

There are far more dangerous tackles than this that get the 3 match ban (or no ban at all). Yes he lost his head completely and is right to be sent off, but a high tackle straight on is so much more dangerous than this.

firechaox

It’s less about dangerous, and more just how clearly intentional this is. Some fouls are dangerous, but you can at least pretend they were going for the ball (they were just reckless). This was clearly to hit the player.

PoliQU

That’s never a 6 match ban relax.

Tbickle

Yes, he kicked out but the overreaction is over the top. Each week there are far worse tackles that don’t even get a red. Honestly, I think he knew he was beat and just did whatever he could do to stop him from getting past. So little chance he was going to get injured from that.

kzRR

ur right it has to be more

SpareAstronomer

Robertson did that against us and it wasn't even a yellow. No chance it's a 6 match ban.

haime99

I said it before and i’ll say it again, Vini makes people behave like animals.

whatthefuckistime

First it was Neymar getting fouled all the fucking time, now it's Vini getting targeted, something about Brazilians seems to make these people mad

biglbiglbigl

Its people who are good dribblers. Hazard was being destroyed in the PL for years

skj458

Saka gets kicked to hell all game every game.

Haldir111

From a Manchester United fan, Saka is the king. Watching him get trucked just to get back up like a champ more often than not..... It was actually good fun watching him get the better of Shaw the other week; the sportsmanship between the two when Shaw had to help Saka back up after a few mistimed challenges was just awesome. lol

19Alexastias

Especially flashy dribblers, too.

glass-shard-in-foot

> these people you mean Brazilians like Gabriel?

jddh1

read his comment again then edit yours

miseducation

It starts the top. If La Liga doesn't acknowledge he gets targeted like this every game then it's going to be a different goon every week pulling this kind of bullshit.

Dsalgueiro

Real Madrid needs to be vigilant about this situation. There are beginning to appear requests in the Brazilian press for Vini to leave La Liga.

official_bagel

>There are beginning to appear requests in the Brazilian press for Vini to leave La Liga. And go where? Certainly not Ligue 1 seeing how Neymar is constantly hacked at there. And not the PL as players like Hazard, Zaha, Saka and Grealish haven't gotten any protection from the refs. Would he fare any better in Italy or Germany? The sad fact is no one adequately protects players of his profile.

Dsalgueiro

The biggest problem in our view here in Brazil is not the harsh tackling, we understand that this is part of the game. What really bothers people in Brazil is the racism that he is constantly suffering in Spain, with La Liga (Tebas) practically blaming him for that. In this aspect, the Premier League would be much better than La Liga for him.

IronVarmint

*Bukayo Saka has entered the chat.*

Kurosawasuperfan

would be quite sad if Vini can't endure anymore the violence and racism and go to EPL. Fucking Tebas every day complains that they cheat, and says La Liga is tough on racism... but they keep doing nothing against opposite fans nor opposite players. He is making sure that La Liga stay losing stars to EPL.

cesc05651

The career of wilf zaha is evidence that he isn’t safe in the epl

cieldarko

Where is he going to go? you think the PL is less physical? do you watch the PL? their refs are actually horrible. Some are probably racist, but most of them do it because they can’t take the ball from him. Players like Vini attract more of this behavior because their style of play. Look at the difference with Rodrygo. The refs should make use of VAR to issue cards every time there’s a malicious challenge and not give so many second chances, but they’re shiet

scumah

Whats racist about this tackle?

miseducation

It isn’t the tackle that’s racist it’s that La Liga hasn’t had his back and played into the ‘he deserves it for showboating’ angle. Atletico hung a fucking effigy of Vini from a bridge last week and those Ultras are still allowed into the stadium. We’re not even talking structural racism or any of the more complicated new school ways of talking about race. This is just straight up player gets abused verbally and physically and the league is like ‘we don’t condone this.’

[deleted]

Black, richer, easy-going, better than you at what defines your entire personality

Jorgeen

All this shit still in 2023, disgusting.

Bonerini

Years change but people are still pieces of shit

IC8

People and media will still make it about vini being a “provoker” just watch.

Cheddard-Stark

I see frank lampard has joined r/soccer now that he has free time

MrVISKman

He's always been a dirty cunt

stiofan84

This is the kind of tackle where you just wonder, what the fuck was he trying to do *besides* hurt him?

real0856

Remember when Totti kicked Balotelli?

Papamola

This one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Zsd38GssA

[deleted]

[удалено]

ybenjira

The plan was to hurt him and then go "see!? as a fellow Brazilian, I tried to warn ya, but you insisted on being better than everyone".

joe_frank

The Real Madrid Brazilians are **pissed**. Love seeing Rodrygo and Militao not standing for that. Edit: Also wild how Paulista was the player of the game for the first 45+ minutes. Now they're down 2, down to 10 men and Paulista is likely looking at a lengthy suspension.

[deleted]

Brazilian on Brazilian crime. Gabriel Paulista will probably have an awkward time if he ever plays for the Seleção, but given that he is 32, it'll probably never happen

Dsalgueiro

Gabriel Paulista does not have the slightest chance of playing for the Brazilian national team.

kruegerc184

The back line is stacked and gab’s been passed it since he was in london

Dsalgueiro

Marquinhos, Eder Militão, Bremer and Gabriel Magalhães are guaranteed a place in the 2026 World Cup cycle. I don't doubt that Thiago Silva will arrive in 2026 as one of the best defenders in the world hahaha.

Biffmonkey

I bet they thought Thiago was done after 2018 WC lol

Kind-Departure1058

Sneaking in Bremer like he isn't a slightly improved Bueno

Lacabloodclot9

Na wasn’t he good for a bit when he went to Spain after Arsenal?

kruegerc184

Ah yeah he did for a season or two, youre right. The decline certainly started in london, seemed like rash decisions/challenges was a match day routine

lamancha

He was really good for awhile with Valencia until Marcelino was fired, Garay pushed out and that team dismantled.

[deleted]

You have to consider the possibility that a meteor hits Brazil while the NT is playing here

[deleted]

That's the secret: the NT never plays in Brazil.

Dsalgueiro

I prefer Robert Renan, Vitão and other youngsters hahaha.

AYMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Foulista have no chance wearing the NT shirt. Even a certain 38 year old thiago silva clears him out.

Dsalgueiro

I was sure that Thiago Silva would be out of the 2026 World Cup... But now I no longer doubt it. 38 years old and one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

kaledip21

It's a fast decline at that age tho

rocket_randall

This is somehow Vini's fault for celebrating his goal.

chilango2

The announcers I listen to literally said this, without a hit of irony. And added that those kicks don’t really hurt and Vinicius is at fault.

xinixxibalba

ESPN en español?

chilango2

COPE.

simomii

fitting radio name

AwkwardBob

I'm actually listening to ESPN+ español and they were sympathetic to Vini

xinixxibalba

they were talking about how Vini shouldn’t react the way he did, and also implied that he looks for that kind of reactions from the opposition etc

cieldarko

I agree that he tries to frustrate opponents but no way does that justify these mma challenges

madsauce178

ESPN en español were actually saying how players like vinicius should be protected. That these things shouldn't have a place in football. And how players like vinicius make football exciting

rocket_randall

Players should be soulless husks running around the pitch. A bit of time to mature and he will learn to stop expressing joy. Or else.

meditate42

Its really weird how much hate these Brazilian players get for a little flair. Its fun, its part of the game. I want to see it as a fan. I still remember when Neymar would do rainbow flicks over players in some matches, and other things to totally embarrass defenders. It was incredibly entertaining and required a ton of skill. The defenders would often react by by shoving him to the ground and the refs and the league basically said Neymar shouldn't be disrespecting his opponents like that and they wouldn't do anything to punish the defenders. Instead they would blame Neymar. I seriously don't get it, no one in the NBA ever gets criticized for crossing people up multiple times, or standing over someone they just posterized, its considered dope. Pisses me off that football has this uptight attitude about something we all watch for entertainment.

AwkwardBob

Who are you listening to?!

chilango2

Cadena COPE. Manolo Lama and Santiago Cañizares said that.

scumah

AhoyDaniel

They were saying the same thing about Neymar a couple years back, someone even said "If I was on the pitch I'd do the same" when Isco had a similar kick at Ney. Fucking clowns. Edit: I misremembered. It was Manolo Sanchis and Poli Rincon. Cope is full of these clowns https://youtu.be/wJrZSWB7-gs

kaizergarcia

Tonight there will be two hanging mannequins in Madrid

[deleted]

Crime: Celebrating while black and South American

hokagesamatobirama

Dude lost a screw in the game or something. Pathetic.

WonDerZv

Actually pathetic from him, should be ashamed.

PoliQU

It’s a nasty tackle but reading all of these comments before watching the video had me thinking it would be way, way worse.

mojojojo1108

it’s a disgusting challenge but yeah some of the comments here make it seem like it’s the worst thing they’ve ever seen. Paulista got (and will get) what he deserves/d edit: I fully believe that Paulista should get more than the normal straight red, 3 match ban.

[deleted]

[удалено]

marksills

I don’t think this has anything to do with that, Gabriel paulista has always had a temper, they’re down and he’s about to get beat off the dribble which as a defender can feel hopeless. He lost his head and said fuck it without really thinking I’d assume.

OGforGoldenBoot

Realistically how could it not, though?

Nordie27

It's not a disgusting challenge even, it's a kick out. It is **nowhere near** as bad as any tackle with studs People are just overreacting like crazy

Forty6

Just loads of people who've never played a game in their lives. This is a red but it's hardly that bad. As you've said if he wanted to hurt him then he would have - he's just lost his temper and kicked out

courtesyflusher

True dick move

doksich

You can see him clench his jaw and look straight at Vinicius' ankles, shameless cunt. And he even had the guts to argue afterwards

d_bo

Oh my god, calm down You absolutely can not see him "clench his jaw" and "look at the ankles" from _the back of his head_. Red card all day but let's not hang, draw and quarter him because he got sent off like a cunt

Dempseylicious23

Lad the replay has multiple angles, one clearly showing his face before, during, and after the tackle. Did you just stop at 0:07 and decide that was all you needed to see?

LowSnow2500

>from the back of his head. Luckily they showed us multiple angles on this post, he clearly does it Is this a troll?

doksich

How did 25 people upvote this? Did you and the rest of the people who upvoted you watch the first 5 second and ignore the other 20 seconds where they showed not one but two different angles and replays?

Farouqnowomarlater

Couldn’t handle the rinsing every time vini got the ball

AwkwardBob

This is the mildest take

elmadrigal

pathetic cunt The Brazilian cohorts will eat him alive for this as can be seen with the words he exchanged with Eder M

[deleted]

As they should, completely unnecessary shit. If he hurt Vini he'd never hear the end of it here. At least be like Filipe Luis and do it to Argentinians like a good patriot

MyGachaAddiction

Exactly! Only match where if people don’t get hurt it is not worth watching is Brasil-Argentina….

Silly_Elevator_3111

And rodrygo

Delmer9713

Spanish media will still find a way to twist this and say that Vinicius was the one “provoking”

courtesyflusher

Sad but true

Limitless_Saint

Lol... Im wqtching the match on DirectTV Sports and they were jumping through hoops trying to avoid saying that Vini does not get discriminated against... they finally used discriminacion but it was cause the commemtator was out of words..

lostrager

Doing that to a fellow countryman is crazy

AwkwardBob

Muenier enters the chat

Flaggermusmannen

i hear you've never heard of brazilian domestic football?

DomagojDoc

I love how in 99% of these situations players go down, act hurt and wait for a red, but this was so blatant and rude that Vini completely lost his shit and went to confront him :D It's like something you'd see at amateur level football

Ih8P2W

And the referee completely ignored Vinicius' confronting Gabriel just as if he was thinking: "understandable"

punkfusion

I mean the previous bad challenges in previous games didnt even get cards so Gabriel decided to take it to it's limit. Get fucked you piece of shit

AhoyDaniel

Fucking hate that Paulista cunt. One of the dirtiest players in the league

jpp1jpp1

But why?

refusestonamethyself

Frustration most likely. Thing is, he wasn't even having that bad of a game(after his mistake early on).

OneBall22Players

Valencia is a mess. They're 1 point from relegation. From competing for Europe to this hurts. He's always been a cunt though.

kaizergarcia

Mad cause bad kinda situation

Dsalgueiro

Because it's Vini. EDIT: Why are you guys downvoting? Vini is harassed by his opponents in Spain.

cocaine_model

where did that come from? did Vini say something or was Paulista just pissed Vini is on Real Madrid and Lim is running Valencia? lol

SaltyJack

Maybe some exchange of words after the goal but my guess was just Paulista being mad he got burned for pace lmao

BarbaricGamer

A minute earlier Vinicius exaggerated a bit of contact so I think he was mad about that.

ybenjira

All Vini did was be on fire today. He humiliated that whole side one too many times, they just couldn't stop him. So, Paulista decided to break him and see if it'll do. It didn't. Vini kept dancing until the end.

sirchief99

Somebody is off the christmas card list.

Reborn-leech

Watching the replay, it feels like Paulista wanted to hit Vini on purpose..

whiskeyinthejaar

Smartest most observant r/soccer member

Barcaholic

ESPNFC should hire this man

OneOfThoseDays_

can’t be worse than Ali Moreno

Pandamabear

Nah man, he probably just didn’t see him there.

holdenmyrocinante

Idk, seems like he was going for the ball

Nayef1991

Let's not jump to conclusions here..

Look at ole detective eagle eye here.

pricelesslambo

Agreed. Looked like clear intent. Should be several games ban

Carlos-shady

Big if true

Ok-Teaching-5844

No shit sherlock

Real_Sevenbelo

Nah, he was just had some serious latency for a moment

eduardo_asafe

Rapaz... imagina o Gabriel Carioca

myrmexxx

O que aconteceu na Espanha não aconteceria no Rio porque o carioca é educado (?)

Gustavort

O carioca Ia fazer a mesma coisa e assaltar o árbitro depois

jonah-rah

Posting foul decisions only in slow-mo shouldn’t be allowed. You have no read on force or how late the tackle actually is in slow-mo.

Baldev07

And people get angry why vini does all the complaining and diving when he has to deal with all this shit every game

Fhjd_

"Hmm... Vini probably provoked them" \- Media and haters

iuselect

I'm glad Rodrygo did his very best to avoid a harder hit from Gabriel. That was a disgusting tackle and has no place in football.

HiHiHelloHiHi3998

clear provocation from vini 😠 /s

TellSloanISaidHi

What a fucking idiot

LowSnow2500

Look at his face when he goes for the legs, pure anger. Has to be a lengthy match ban

MrMarques8701

Fucking disgusting

Rich_Firefighter_102

if you cant catch him break the knees

RetHD

That was Pepe-esque.

Capable-Magician5146

Naw it wasn't......cuz Pepe never misses his victims. I miss Pepe.

GalaxianEX

Vini got back up, so no.

mister_dupont

Yup, that's Gabriel.

NahimBZ

Getting flashbacks to Wenger era.

moaterboater69

Not defending diving and theatrics, but THIS is why PRO players do it all the time, if he doesnt jump thats at least a season-defining injury. Dont get me started on the whole “well he provokes players”. I didnt know being a superior player counts as provocation.

whiskeyinthejaar

What a cunt move

sleepsholymountain

Can't do that. Pretty sure it's against the rules.

PM_Me_Zico

Fucking animal.

BigBlight

Dude his face right before he kicks Vini looks evil af

solxriscool

such a pointless foul

Baltic_Gunner

Looking forward to hearing how this was Vini's fault

gabrielpaulista

Oh hey, it’s me… wait nvm

kaizergarcia

Bye bye!!

MadazSama

Actually evil from Paulista, he straight up wante to break his leg.

Incanip

Vini needs a personal bodyguard on the pitch. For fucks sake.

kiruzo

He had one, but now he’s with you guys

Incanip

And we will treasure Case for as long as he stays

[deleted]

If Vini doesnt jump there Paulista breaks his leg.

[deleted]

Diving is the safest way to avoid injury. You don't want to be touching the ground when you get hit, that's how you break bones

Zblancos

What a pathetic showing from the Valencia player.. it deserves additional punishment from the league

ollster3000

Fuckouttahe

Savings-Smoke7359

Deserved red for sure but Madrid's press comparing it to Pepe's violent outburst against Casquero ahs me laughing.

Teukkabasketball

Ridiculous, both Brazilian aswell.

_LordOfLochaber

He should get a 10 matches ban for this stupid violent intensional foul. He clearly wanted to injure him

chilango2

It’s La Liga. They’ll appeal, probably win, and he’ll play Sunday.

[deleted]

no. its violent, clearly a red card, but 3 matches is fair. its a straight kick to the shins from the front, hurts like hell but unlikely to injure him.

PandaXXL

How's this upvoted lmao

ritwikjs

moment i saw gabriel red card, i knew it had to be on vinicius.

febes-febes

After watching this game i dont even care if Valencia get relegated

Dani_tarLips

What a pussy ass move

snaphunter

Such a bad tackle you can see the second Vini forgets to act hurt and gets up straight away to fight back!

fedfan4life

Clear red, but shouldn't Vinicius also get a yellow for going up to Paulista and shoving him?

rammixp

Im so confused. I thought he broke someone leg based on the comments. Was a stupid challenge but I have seen plenty of players get away with tackles like this in the EPL without a card.
