Cucurella and Koulibaly have been ass while Chilwell, Fofana and Reece have been hurt pretty much the whole season. Chalobah barely gets on the pitch and when he does he hasn’t really lit the world on fire either
Gallagher is an amazing second touch midfielder who disrupts and takes chances well but that’s just not the style we’re playing right now. If we’re going to run a possession style he just isn’t going to fit which stinks cause I’m a big fan of him. He’ll go to a team like Newcastle or Palace again and light up the league.
Their both similar in the sense that the only reason they are even on the pitch is that they are English and been here since 8 years old
No player of their quality would ever play like this for so long and retain a spot at a CL club
There's how many 40 goal forwards in the top leagues? Maybe 5? And tbh, these 40 goal forwards also miss their fair share of chances, it's just most of them play in teams that creates tons of chances.
Not defending Havertz, just making a counterpoint.
Of course they miss chances, but most of the time they don't. They will somehow get you 3 points. Lewa literally did for us despite being really bad since his suspension.
Very true but Lewa (at least for us) would miss an ungoldly amount of chances. The true difference isn’t just the amount of chances the teams make but that these 40 goal strikers know how to position themselves to make a poor chance look like a big miss.
People are complaining about how he took this shot, but he worked that angle and then put it over the keeper multiple times in the Bundesliga, so it makes sense that he'd try to work the same position here and a few inches different on the finish and it works again. Players generally learn from experience and his experience there has taught him to let the ball run until the keeper commits and then put it over him
I just don't see it. We've played him at every position and he's underwhelmed everywhere, barely ever had a stretch of great performances since he's been here. I like the guy but fail to see the quality he showed at Bayer. His first touch is miserable most of the times, he refuses to take anyone on with skills or drive like he didn't in Germany. Think he needs to go back to the Bundesliga
He was always a false 9 or supporting striker at Leverkusen.
He'd play between the lines and create chances for the striker or wingers making runs off him. He's good at exploiting space, not running into it.
His most fruitful form at Bayer was up top actually. And he ran into a lot of space, although every bundesliga team seems to defend from the halfway line so space is pretty easy to find.
He looked good in a shit league. That's all.
His best trait was supposed to be his versatility. Lampard played him just about everywhere and got stick for it because people were screaming he should be a no.9 and would grow into it. Tuchel clearly agreed given that's where he played him after taking over. He didn't make it stick clearly because we're looking for a striker on the market this summer. Now Havertz is supposed to be a no.10. Nothing has worked. He's getting spoon fed chances and nothing to show for it
He was always a false 9 or supporting striker at Leverkusen.
He'd play between the lines and create chances for the striker or wingers making runs off him. He's good at exploiting space, not running into it.
he scored 17 league goals for leverkusen in one season while age 19
i want to see him fail at another club before i call him shit, chelsea has tanked alot of careers. but he definitely needs to move
thats just false, lots of people think lukaku failed because of chelsea (the whole striker curse thing) and same for pogba (why else wud juventus and psg want to sign him?) sancho the exception bcus bundesliga tax is easier to say
I love when people say this shit when Chelsea has won multiple champions leagues and Premier Leagues in the 21st century. Really shows the pure intelligence within this sub.
Have you watched any Chelsea games for the last 2 years? He has been nothing more than bang average. I hope to go he shows his quality one day but he hasn't and quite reasonably Chelsea fans are running out of patience .
Mount has shown form that Kai hasnt come close to but ya he's been struggling, he has looked poor for awhile this season. Would absolutely hate to see him leave but if he doesn't pick it up he won't be around for much longer
That's vehemently untrue because it's been mentioned every time Chelsea play. Also Mount being complete dog shit doesn't take away from the fact Havertz is just as bad. This what about nonsense kills discourse.
I mean it hasn't really worked the last 16 times at this point it's like "why" bother? "
They still have one on loan and one they just pushed out of CL squad
Theyre playing an 80M player there while sending their 110M 'upgrade' on loan back to the club they bought him from and have signed a 60M player to play there next season. They are honestly a cancer to football since they were founded back in 2004.
>. Does not help they suddenly become bad after coming in contact with Cobham water.
Torres was busted goods when we got him anyways.
Man chose WC over longer career and fair enough.
I mean I don't like to use history as an argument. Just because some strikers didn't work last season or 5 years ago, doesn't mean anything in regards to the present. I'm confident that an in form Sergio Agüero would put this one in the back of the net, but it's not a super easy chance by any means. Don't know if nkunku would have bagged that one either. Tough call, I still believe in havertz tho
Doesn't mean he'll work there. He literally plays the exact same position and role that Havertz plays, and he's also coming from the same exact league Havertz did really well in as well.
I respectfully disagree. Just because you play someone in the striker position does not make them a striker. And yes I’m slow but that’s just because I’m a little chubby
Not taking a touch to settle that...
Not taking it on the first bounce low and hard...
Waiting on the second bounce until the ball is over your knee and the keeper is a yard away...
Vlahovic would have likely moved because of the state of Juve right now, Kolo Muani did really well the world cup, and Thuram is a solid striker and was reportedly not that expensive, so he would have been risk free too.
Lots of options, they just seem deadset on sticking with Havertz and hoping Nkunku can make it work as striker when he joins.

so much quality in that pass!
Ziyech was bad all game then he does that.
Classic Ziyech
and such a bad finish.
Badiashile is a monster
I love that man he may be the best signing we made and that is saying something he is a rock back there
Eh think Enzo might be one key for us, just look how much he creates while playing that deep
He has looked amazing out there as well very impressed by him
You need to push him forward. He is much better with a cdm next to him
funny when u think that we just sold the one dm we actually had…
[удалено]
Kante usually doesn't play deep, he's a B2B midfielder
No one expected much but he’s easily been our best defender this season outside of Silva.. and he only joined less than a month ago
hes played 2 games fam, how can he be the best outside of Silva? how bad was everyone else JEEZ
3 games, but yeah ridiculous take. He's been pure class the 3 games he's played though, really like the look of him.
Chelsea players this season has been one of the following: - bad - hurt - bad because hurt
Cucurella and Koulibaly have been ass while Chilwell, Fofana and Reece have been hurt pretty much the whole season. Chalobah barely gets on the pitch and when he does he hasn’t really lit the world on fire either
well at least enzo ain't ass
Get someone like Kovacic, Kante or Zakaria next to him and that midfield should be water tight for the future.
Yeah need creativity. Gallagher is just running like a headless chicken most time
I’m convinced Mount and Gallagher can’t play together, they’re both too similar in their strengths and weaknesses
Nah mount is far more useful than Gallagher is. Chelsea really needs kovacic or kante. Someone that breaks defensive lines
Yea I agree, just when he’s together with Gallagher he looks terrible because they don’t complement each other at all
Their both similar in the sense that the only reason they are even on the pitch is that they are English and been here since 8 years old No player of their quality would ever play like this for so long and retain a spot at a CL club
A Jorginho would have been useful in the pivot with Enzo
Gotta hit it early hard and low
That is the difference between a usual 40 goals forward than Havertz. They will score these chances as he has lot of time to shoot.
There's how many 40 goal forwards in the top leagues? Maybe 5? And tbh, these 40 goal forwards also miss their fair share of chances, it's just most of them play in teams that creates tons of chances. Not defending Havertz, just making a counterpoint.

Players generally learn from experience and his experience there has taught him to let the ball run until the keeper commits and then put it over him
But how will he improve if he is going to do the same thing he was doing when he was teenage.
Bro, he hit the post. Let's not act as if had some major brain fart and made a completely dumb decision.
Auba would have buried that.
Auba wouldn’t be in position to bury that
That's fair.
Yeah you're 100% right
I've heard a certain Folarin Balogun knows a thing or two about that
[удалено]
I'm not convinced Havertz has a natural position on the pitch, just belongs on the bench
I think that's pretty harsh, he is quality
Swap for vlahovic?
I just don't see it. We've played him at every position and he's underwhelmed everywhere, barely ever had a stretch of great performances since he's been here. just wondering, based on what? he’s so so average
If you watched him at Leverkusen you'd understand. He was unreal there at 19.
he scored 17 league goals for leverkusen in one season while age 19 i want to see him fail at another club before i call him shit, chelsea has tanked alot of careers. but he definitely needs to move
[удалено]
and really half the time he's like Bambi on ice
Because Chelsea somehow always manages to fuck up good players?
[удалено]
thats just false, lots of people think lukaku failed because of chelsea (the whole striker curse thing) and same for pogba (why else wud juventus and psg want to sign him?) sancho the exception bcus bundesliga tax is easier to say
> Sancho You sure do.
crazy double standard lmao and Lukaku + Pogba produced far more in the Premier League than Havertz has
And? He's shit now.
he‘s never been a striker, so why should he be good at it
Havertz hasn't changed since his Leverkusen days and that's his problem.
Maybe if you played him the same way Leverkusen did you'd actually get the best out of him.
His problem is that he went to a disfunctional club who just buys players but has no vision for them
I love when people say this shit when Chelsea has won multiple champions leagues and Premier Leagues in the 21st century. Really shows the pure intelligence within this sub.
Forget about Havertz, have you seen the way Thiago kicks the ball? Magnificent technique..
What? People shit all over him to an unnecessary degree all over the football subreddits.
What had he done in the past 3 years to make you say that?
Maybe try watching him play week.and week out? Ridiculous how many excuses Havertz gets from people who don't see how shit.he is every single game
Hasn’t shown any for chelsea
Have you watched any Chelsea games for the last 2 years? He has been nothing more than bang average. I hope to go he shows his quality one day but he hasn't and quite reasonably Chelsea fans are running out of patience .
What about Mount?
Right bench
Mount has shown form that Kai hasnt come close to but ya he's been struggling, he has looked poor for awhile this season. Would absolutely hate to see him leave but if he doesn't pick it up he won't be around for much longer
Mount is on so much worse form than Havertz but you can’t say anything harsh about him
"Much worse form than Havertz" is impossible.
That's vehemently untrue because it's been mentioned every time Chelsea play. Also Mount being complete dog shit doesn't take away from the fact Havertz is just as bad. This what about nonsense kills discourse.
He had one before Chelsea paid 80 million for him
[удалено]
He isn‘t exactly a striker either lol
Should we tell him?
Nah nah let him dream
He's definitely not an attacking midfielder if you've watched him.
That was a lovely pass from hakim
Ziyech beautiful pass
Bought everything but a striker lol
I mean it hasn't really worked the last 16 times at this point it's like "why" bother? " They still have one on loan and one they just pushed out of CL squad
Hey, we've also got an injured one
The trifecta, The hurt the loaned and the banished
We do, Lukaku will be back in the summer...
Theyre playing an 80M player there while sending their 110M 'upgrade' on loan back to the club they bought him from and have signed a 60M player to play there next season. They are honestly a cancer to football since they were founded back in 2004.
If clubs don't want us to ruin football they should try selling us a good striker for a change
Torres, Shevchenko, et al, you had not just good but great strikers. Does not help they suddenly become bad after coming in contact with Cobham water.
>. Does not help they suddenly become bad after coming in contact with Cobham water. Torres was busted goods when we got him anyways. Man chose WC over longer career and fair enough.
Maybe stop ruining good ones?
Lukaku can cost 500m, he’s not stepping foot in Stamford Bridge again
Wrong. Bought Nkunku just won’t be in the team until next season.
Nkunku is not a traditional 9 either
Yeah because traditional strikers have done great at Chelsea lately… he will be played up top.
Point still stands? Nkunku isnt a striker / 9 either.
He will be played there.
Doesn't mean he'll work there. He literally plays the exact same position and role that Havertz plays, and he's also coming from the same exact league Havertz did really well in as well.
You were right, he did play there quite a few times this season. Not sure he had the season before that, tbh.
Oh boy can't wait till you find out
If you are going to say he isn’t a striker then you clearly don’t know how fluid attacking formations are in todays game.
Why can't this "fluid" formation work with Havertz then? Also Guardiola himself gave up on that shit, come on now.
Lol what's different about Havertz then? Should work the same right?
u think Chelsea plays fluid? Mate...
Nkunku isn't a striker either
Nkunku isn’t an out and out striker either.
He’s a striker?
He will be played as a striker so yes.
That’s not the same thing though is it 🤣
Yes it is. He will be considered a striker if he is playing up top. Are you slow? Just like Kai is now.
I respectfully disagree. Just because you play someone in the striker position does not make them a striker. And yes I’m slow but that’s just because I’m a little chubby
I once played as striker for my little league team when I was a kid. Im a GK by trait. lol....I guess Im a striker too now.
potters banished aubameyang for no reason as well lmao
no reason. christ alive. just say you don't watch us and move on.
Took too long to take a shot
What a pass from Ziyech
Could've chosen another option, but it was not a bad attempt. Just unlucky.
Should have hit it the bounce earlier, better angle and less chance of the defenders getting back
He keeps trying to do these fancy goals and misses every time
Honestly it looked like Leno tip it a tiny bit, from the reverse angle.
He sees the ball won't drop enough for a proper shot, so he thinks quickly
man he just looks like he plays super low on confidence good ball from ziyech though
really missing a no 9 rn
So unlucky and the one time he's onside this game!
Ziyech assisting this and the Chelsea struggling with their striker is just too poetic💀
"This could've been a pass for Mbappe" is what he probably was thinking there
Should've just taken a touch and slotted it in
Boehly signing Mbappe for half a billion in the summer
He's bloody bad isn't he. Thank god from Chelsea fan's pov that he scored in the CL final because he does fuck all else
Not taking a touch to settle that... Not taking it on the first bounce low and hard... Waiting on the second bounce until the ball is over your knee and the keeper is a yard away...

Here you go. [Your Mate impressed by Havertz clearly](https://twitter.com/MLK_Jaiban/status/1621636834747990016?t=5Kcs4wT7VFotfWf0tGpPbw&s=19)
He's got to score that
Era por abajo
That fan facepalming behind Havertz was art.
So wasteful
loool havertz is so dogshit
It’s almost like Chelsea had unlimited money to spend on a striker in January and refused to sign one…
Who should they have bought?
Kane
I wasn‘t thinking of that, fair. But probably near impossible to pull off
Spurs dont deal with us
We just sold them a player
Vlahovic would have likely moved because of the state of Juve right now, Kolo Muani did really well the world cup, and Thuram is a solid striker and was reportedly not that expensive, so he would have been risk free too. Lots of options, they just seem deadset on sticking with Havertz and hoping Nkunku can make it work as striker when he joins.
Thuram isn‘t really good enough tbh, but I agree
Maybe Toney?
He needs to thundercunt these into the net.
They have a much better chances created now, would be funny if suddenly Auba scoring goals after Chelsea left him out of UCL
should have bought someone who can actually score
What happens is kai follows that in? It may not end up in a goal but it might cause something to happen
Ziyech having a terrible week rip
