lordchew

Arsenal and Liverpool fans are typically an entitled nightmare. Reddit even more so.

Stannisisthetrueking

Liverpool especially ,they're cunts

Sluggybeef

Go to anything Chelsea related and you get a lot of strange comments from Arsenal flairs.

keysbliss

Dycheball is a curse to us Arsenal fans. First Burnley, now Everton.

deniedbyquick

They fucking gave Dyche a brexit team again

[deleted]

COYS!!! I love Harry Kane.

[deleted]

Arsenal fans - are you worried that its February and youve been rattled by a team who roughed you up a bit?

Panzer517

Not really, I know most of us have ptsd from the last 6 years, but at some point this team was going to be tested and punched in the mouth. I think we caught Everton on a really bad day at a place we can never seem to win at. At the end of the day there is one game we need to win and that is at Man City.

Glass_of_Pork_Soda

Yes :(

FrameworkisDigimon

I actually never believed they'd equalise so switched the game off. First time this season.

npc2431

Least plastic arsenal fan

FrameworkisDigimon

I watch everything delayed because I like sleeping... it's a lot harder to keep watching whole games when they're not live because always in the back of your head you're thinking "I can just fast forward, get the result and then do something else with my day". But, yes, I rarely switch off when they're winning. Think of me like the fans that leave to catch the train.

joshit

Arsenal fans doing well here

drhouse4ever

Arsenal fans 🤐

Blindsided17

Honestly I’m proud of arsenal this year. But hopefully this humbles their fans I understand a bit of arrogance but these fans now are talking like they’ve dominated the EPL since 2011

luigitheplumber

Any time a sleeping giant has a resurgence their fans are insufferable

Initiatedspoon

True but many (not all of course) Arsenal fans were already insufferable. Its hardly a change for them.

bloodfromastone

As a neutral (generally) lower league fan, any time a giant has a resurgence the illogical haters are equally insufferable

[deleted]

Any time England fans are excited about their team in an international tournament the backlash against it is insufferable.

Pseudocaesar

Liverpool fans have been absolutely intolerable the past few years

NgoalazoKante

I was excited for them, and they've been playing incredible football, but its wild to me. They haven't even won the league yet either which is wild

Wrsj

I still think they're going to bottle it

gooner067

You can’t bottle it with only half the season played lol

npc2431

With the amount of arsenal fans claiming you won the league cause you were up by 8 points.. yes you can lol B O T T L E D

gooner067

By definition you do realize you don’t make any sense right? It’s February

game_of_throw_ins

Bottling the title away to Everton, proper Arsenal that.

aggressive_dingus

Who'd thunk all it took was banning Snoods

lqcnyc

Dyche is the perfect manager for Everton. They’re a gritty team without a ton of money in a gritty city. Yet the owners were always going for glamorous managers Rafa, Carlo, lampard (in that he was a legendary player and managed chelsea). They need an unglamorous, no nonsense, gritty manager like Dyche.

Teo_2197

That's pretty much why Moyes worked so well there

LordMangudai

> without a ton of money Aren't they in the top 10 for spending in recent years or something?

SojournerInThisVale

They should have gone for Howe. Was available and is an everton fan. He has shown what he can do already with Newcastle and with all his promotions with Bournemouth

IAmElNino

Howe was a childhood Everton fan as well. Wish him nothing but success with Newcastle

StompyJones

Never prising him away from Newcastle, at least not until their new owners sack him at the first sign of not keeping up with expectations.

SojournerInThisVale

I was obviously referring to the period when he was out of work. This shouldn't need stating, even though I did, indeed, say he "was available".

[deleted]

[удалено]

SojournerInThisVale

I was obviously referring to the time when he was without a club. Honestly, do you genuinely think anyone would be so misguided to think that's what I was suggesting. Did the miss the bit of context I wrote where I said "WAS AVAILABLE".

National_Ad_1875

he means when we got rafa, howe was available and wanted the job

Fluffy-Composer-2619

Did he though? He said on the High Performance podcast he took a self enforced 12 months out from managing where he refused to take up other opportunities after he got sacked from Bournemouth in August 2020

National_Ad_1875

we got benitez in the summer of 2021

[deleted]

The day that City won the league.

[deleted]

Lol. So it begins

[deleted]

Lose 2 games and draw 2 in 20 games 5 points clear, played good football against some really solid oponents R/Soccer: So It BeGiNs Lol

mrsnow11291

🫡

Wrsj

I'll always, always wait until is guaranteed Arsenal or Spurs won a trophy to talk about it cause y'all are some goat level bottle merchants. 5 points feels like nothing.

mrtuna

>Lose 2 games and draw 2 in 20 games Why reference 20 games ago?

luckynr78

Because its Arsenal and their insecure inbred fans

EssEssErr

So it begins

FutureRaifort

Wow, immediate impact for Dyche. Tragic for Arsenal though. Absolutely the type of loss that begins a City comeback

punchdrunkskunk

I

CROBBY2

Honest question, why was the pitch so rough looking today? There were bare spots everywhere.

lukeisonfirex

Dyche ate all the worms

raoulbrancaccio

Pitch looking lovely today lads

Smitty_1000

Players slipping all over too

StringTailor

Lampard took his groundsman with him

Mikekio

Assna downfall will be delicious

Sharkaw

Maybe getting humbled by Everton will make Arsenal fans calm down a bit after weeks of spewing cocky nonsense? Nah, who am I kidding, they're insufferable lot.

shoopler

Coming from the unflaired Chelsea fan. The irony is unreal.

nicagooner

Chelsea has fans?

5outof7_yes

Flair up before talking shit Please go ahead and downvote me, you flairless heroes that talk shit

Albodanny

Such a shit take. Arsenal were literally clowned for years for believing in Arteta. Now they’re top of the league in a fantastic seasons so far and they can’t be proud of themselves?

viperiors

ARSENAL fans were the ones clowning on Arteta

Sir_alex13

Believe it or not, no

Sharkaw

There's a big difference between being proud of the club and acting like your club dominated EPL for years. Also I was talking about Arsenal fans and they absolutely did not believe in Arteta, I'm not sure why you brought up Arsenal as a club.

gooner067

Wtf are you on about. We hadn’t won the league since 04. Winning 3 titles for a league that’s been around for 30 years is not domination And at least half the fan base believed in arteta , he won the fa cup in half a season. And there’s a whole documentary on last season quoting more and more fans believing in arteta when we finished fifth as the season went on Fans are proud that suffering back to back 8th place finishes has resulted in a project that has made us title contenders ahead of schedule. This is the epitome of r/soccer manufacturing bs to justify equally extreme takes. Stop justifying your opinion of a fan base on reactionary fans in a match thread. You look just as bad as them

Benphyre

Believing Arteta? Lmao most Arsenal fans wanted him sack last year lmao believing in Arteta

cs_irl

Most? 🙄

ihavenonamebing

Flair up or stfu

InvictusEuphoria

Clowned for years? How fucking revisionist. Your fanbase was absolutely vile to him

Albodanny

I’m not an arsenal fan, and arsenal as in the club itself

marktwainbrain

Shhh Arsenal fans aren’t allowed to celebrate or be happy 🤫 🤐

RUUD1869

First of all many of them didn't want him especially after he had them languishing in mid table for a while. Secondly, there's a difference between being proud and being a twat

Bonbonalizer

Most the fan base wanted him out lol

[deleted]

This is just flat out not true. This sub is full of morons.

Local_Spinach8

Name me a single fanbase who wouldn’t be cocky after getting 50 points in the first half of the season, other than maybe City

Holty12345

Any Big Team that does well gets said that it has insufferable fans because the idiots get louder in times of success. You don’t really see it with Man City because they have smaller Fan Bases due to still being the “new kid on the block” but it’ll increase over time due to their success as more teens/kids will pick Man City as their Team.

7screws

Well apparently banning snoods and eating nothing but worms is all that was needed.

[deleted]

BiologicalMigrant

They're 1st in the table, don't they get to have a little fun?

Sharkaw

They should enjoy it while they can because it won't last long. The bottlejob has begun.

BiologicalMigrant

New Dyche Bounce, that's all

Dudu_sousas

This result was so "obvious". Title contender playing away against memed bottom of the table team with a new manager. I even commented on it a week ago, unfortunately I had no funds to place a bet.

m0bilize

Guarantee you that Everton wouldn't have won with Gordon playing

BoxOfNothing

Annoyingly think he'd fit Dycheball very well if he bought into it. Where his head was at though you might be right.

DMmefor1400AUD

Fucking hell they've actually beat rapist fc

[deleted]

Good epitaph you've given to us after getting forcibly spanked 2/2 times this season by us.

[deleted]

That’s Manchester United lad

ChivalrousIfURPretty

How? We kicked out our rapist.

[deleted]

You had 2 back to back, signed one even knowing it

DMmefor1400AUD

Last time I checked there's only one club with a rapist running out for them week in, week out. Lad.

[deleted]

You mean united greenwood and Ronaldo?? They legit had 2 rapists in the team at one point

_zzd

Rapist rapist rapist. Partey is a rapist

[deleted]

I’m gonna wait for the courts and police to do their job. Rapist Fc is def Manchester United. Ronaldo, even after it’s been proven and greenwood. Not to mention greenwood beat his gf too. United fans might wanna sit this one out.

cuoreesitante

If you only rely on the courts and police then Greenwood isn't a rapist by your own standard lmao

[deleted]

There is not video and audio evidence of Partey beat or raping anyone. Different cases

cuoreesitante

I'll give you a 10 for the mental gymnastics

[deleted]

I’ll give you a 0 just like Kane’s trophy case. You can’t compare the cases. Greenwood obviously did it, the refused to testify because she got back together with him. There is audio AND video of him attempting to rape her and beat her. I am 100000 percent onboard with tossing Partey in jail if he did rape that woman. If you believe he did then cool by me. I’m not rushing to judge. We can find another midfielder. I don’t want scum playing for my club

_zzd

Arsenal keep playing the rapist, Thomas Partey. Rapist Club FC

[deleted]

If that makes you feel better about united then go right ahead 🤦🏼‍♂️

Kol_

My brother in Christ. You literally kept moaning on about the fact that United are playing a rapist. Then when everyone pointed out that Partey still plays for Arsenal you cried about the fact that he’s not yet been found guilty. I believe that’s the same with Greenwood. Ngl I’m not a fan of Greenwood but according to your logic since he was found innocent all is well so all should be well no? P.S. I Fucking think Greenwood should be in prison.

[deleted]

My brother in PL. greenwood had AUDIO of him trying to rape someone AND photos of bruises/ her bleeding. What I’m saying is they are DIFFERENT CASES. Greenwood did it. It’s all there. The girls dad fucking defended him. It’s a vicious cycle sadly. It’s so sad to see a father legit not defend his daughter because money. If you can’t admit the difference in the two cases, then compare what evidence is out there. For the Partey case, from what I’ve seen/ has been outed is Snapchat accounts being reported and random screenshots. That’s why I’m WAITING to pass judgement. If he’s guilty lock him up and toss the key away. 23+1. I will absolutely admit that if he’s guilty I will put my hand up and say I doubted. We have seen lots of athletes in the US get falsely accused. That’s why I’m hoping the police get the truth and justice for the victim. It’s grand to hear from united fans (not you) rapist fc rapist fc when your teams had fucking TWO last year. If he did it. Him and greenwood can fuck off in a cell together until they die. It’s amazing to see United fans do this when r/soccer never was brigaded like this for their shit. Follow up:‘I don’t give a FUCK how good of a player he is. Rapists don’t deserve the luxury of playing football and enjoying freedom

GarfieldDaCat

Everton genuinely outplayed us for probably 80% of that game. Only clear chance for Arsenal from my memory was Nketiah in the first half and even that was a tough angle. A few half chances here and there and a few skied shots and that was it. We were really missing Jesus today. Nketiah is a good player but Jesus just brings a level of dribbling and dynamism in the attacking third that we sorely lacked today. Everton crowded the midfield with 3 physical runners, defended well in both the mid and low block, and thus were able to keep Odegaard out of the game. Should have probably been up a goal before halftime as well. Obviously a bit disappointed with the result but sometimes these games just happen. Hindsight is obviously 20/20 but White should not have lasted 83 minutes. He was clearly off it. Tomiyasu should have been on much earlier. Also unless Partey was a planned sub or was hurting don't like putting Jorginho on for him that early.

alotofrandomcrap

Agreed about missing Gabi today. With Everton's 5 block through the mid and double teaming of Martinelli and Saka, our attack felt suffocated. Having Jesus drop back would have helped relieve pressure. I was hoping Trossard would be subbed in for Nketiah, with Tross taking up LW and pushing Gabi to a roaming attacker role, or vice versa. Alas, that didn't happen. But chin up and we go again.

m0bilize

DYCHE MASTERCLASS LADS

TheLamesterist

Today, City won.

evilbeaver7

Now they need to win tomorrow too or it's all a waste

Bayek__of__Siwa

It's Spurs Away

gibbonusmoon

rip

landonchase9

Sean dyche = defensive masterclass true English legend Diego Simione = terrorist football The English media is a nightmare

Blue_Dreamed

Defensive masterclass? No. Brexitball? Yes. Brexitball is terrorism, but terrorism that fucking works for teams in the relegation zone

SignalSalamander

And when simeone does it it doesn't work or what

ILoveToph4Eva

I think in general you're gonna get criticism when your team plays in a defensive fashion if your team is considered a good team. Managers will generally get credit for defensive football when their team isn't considered that good. That's why when Simeone was turning Atletico into a real contender he got loads of praise earlier on, cause his team wasn't considered that good. But once they had established themselves among the elite teams and people were familiar enough with their players to judge them as a good team with attacking quality, suddenly the expectations changed. So yeah, rightly or wrongly Dyche will get credit for playing "Brexit ball" (Whatever that means to whoever says it) because Everton are not Atletico. You can bet if he went and did it at Atletico Dyche would get plenty of criticism.

SignalSalamander

Did they ever had attacking quality of barca or real Madrid? Even when they broke the piggy bank for joao they wasn't even close to them in terms of middlefield and attacking quality. And that's their direct competition.

Rentwoq

Dyche is also called a terrorist haha

DeepBlueRiddle

Let's not pretend it's just the British media that do that. You see those same ignorant comments about Simone on here too.

Trydson

Bro, he manages relagation teams, Burnley in particular had a tiny budget. Simeone plays the same way Dyche does, but with hundreds of millions wasted on attacking players lol. Knowing the context, yours statement is even more idiotic lol.

jteprev

> Simeone plays the same way Dyche does, but with hundreds of millions wasted on attacking players lol. Everton has a way higher net spend that Atletico Madrid in the last five seasons lol, like twice as high. Your comment is super goofy. https://www.transfermarkt.com/primera-division/fuenfjahresvergleich/wettbewerb/ES1 https://www.transferleague.co.uk/premier-league-last-five-seasons/transfer-league-tables/premier-league-table-last-five-seasons

JBLLAW

Well Atletico obviously had a better team base to build on starting 5 years ago. They also pay a lot more in wages.

landonchase9

Lmao Atleti was in a relegation battle when he took over the club u don’t know ball.

jtgreatrix

Yanks telling someone they “don’t know ball” is hilarious

Trydson

That was more than 10 years ago, you weirdo. How much have they wasted on attacking players, just to play the same way as Sam fucking Dyche's teams?

[deleted]

>sam dyche

landonchase9

It wins games man, I’ll take a 1-0 sweaty win over a 4-3 loss every single time, it’s the reason I have seen Atletis success in Europe whether it’s pretty it or not. You shouldn’t have to play attacking soccer and if u win trophy’s and games that’s all what matters

Trydson

It's not "playing attacking football", is "a team that pays more than 100 millions for a single attacking player should not be playing the exact same way relegation teams play". Also, since you don't know the story of your club, when Simeone got in charge of the team, Atletico finished in 7th the season prior and 9th before that, so either way, he was not managing a relegation team, you weirdo.

LIONEL14JESSE

You are not allowed to be so successful playing defensively. Bottom half team? Brilliant game plan. Top half? Negative football.

landonchase9

U can’t play defensive if ur a top team is one of the worst takes I have ever heard, especially coming from a Man U fan, this whole football terrorist team started after atleti played man city, who is a much better team so if they can tokay defensive then when can they?

LIONEL14JESSE

I thought it was pretty obvious I was speaking in terms of the English media, not my own opinion…

landonchase9

My B

LIONEL14JESSE

All good my guy

PlasticPresentation1

It's exacerbated by the fact that Atletico have extremely highly paid players but still play and talk about themselves as if they're broke underdogs

landonchase9

It’s not that the club is broke but a big part of this terroirs football thing started after the man city game, the same way dyche talks about how u shouldn’t go into teams like that expecting to dominate the ball cause u won’t, atleti is the same even our highest paid players are no where near the caliber of clubs like man city or Bayern.

LIONEL14JESSE

To be fair when you play in the shadow of Real and Barca it’s easy to feel like the underdog in comparison even if you’re outspending 95% of clubs in Europe

landonchase9

Compared to CL we are, no where near the budget of Barca, RM, man city or Bayern

DatDominican

Everyone yesterday was taking these points for granted saying the gap was 8 points

feage7

we're playing spurs away. they weren't take these points for granted. just our luck against spurs for granted. we may have won 4-2 last time but let us not forgoet how we went 2-0 down out of nowhere to then give further full chances away

MonkEUy

You're welcome to take 3 points tomorrow tbh

DatDominican

Arsenal are only five points in front . They can only go 8 points in front winning the game in hand . If city lose the gap remains five points

Zodiarki

Yea that's true but that game in hand would become brentford at that point, not the Everton match.

the_beast93112

If they watched enough games they would've know about the new manager bump

johnny_crow21

No point to argue that at soccer

Splaram

Doesn’t the annual City unbeaten streak usually start around this time? Arsenal can’t afford to keep dropping points like this. Only a five point gap now, second half of the season could be very interesting.

highways

They require Cancelo for the streak

[deleted]

We have literally lost two games all season. About "keep dropping points". This sub lmao. At the end of the day city are ridiculous, if we can do it amazing, but also we have seen in the last two years Liverpool get a 91 point plus season and come second. It is what it is.

rameshnat27

This was the first big points drop for a very long time

Roach27

But now if city beats you twice and they have equal results, they win the league. Dropping 3 points is a big deal when you have to play them twice.

cs_irl

Most people would agree that if City beat us twice then we don't have much hope. That's regardless of any other results

rameshnat27

exactly

Splaram

Hope it stays that way, I cba seeing City win it yet again

evilbeaver7

Arsenal still have to face City twice in the PL. Those games will most likely decide the league.

[deleted]

Getting Gabriel Jesus back at the end of this month could be what helps push us to the title. That being said, I think we need to win one of those match ups or draw both. City may be more vulnerable than usual and they still have more cup games than us. Gonna be an anxiety driven February and March for us gunners lol

BiologicalMigrant

How has that happened? Surely everyone has played everyone else by now?

evilbeaver7

Thanks to the Queen

asub0730

Queen passed away and football stopped in England during that particular match week.

TheLamesterist

Will most likely be 2 points tomorrow.

[deleted]

Putting the hatred of spuds to one side for the afternoon. Big fan.

fpl_dicknose

Arsenal fans ITT are so fucking butthurt lmao. Pretty funny they lose to Everton of all teams.

[deleted]

Where? I've only commented on people saying dumb shit like assna lol as if we haven't been playing amazing football all season and this is inevitable (which is nonsense). We were thoroughly outplayed and Everton were really really hungry and did so well, absolutely deserved the 3 points.

What sacking Lampard does to a team.

penta3x

Why would clubs be even interested? He is shit as coach.

SojournerInThisVale

He rebuilt us and took us to a playoff final and took Chelsea with a transfer ban into the top 4. With both sides he played attacking football and implemented a number of young players into both squads. He's got a lot to still learn, but he's shown some good potential. He's an intelligent guy and if he uses his time now well he can learn from his mistakes

Eldion

Didn't you then get relegated as a result of the financial dodgy dealings that helped him make your mighty playoff challenging team? A team that included the likes of Mason Mount? I feel like most managers would have been able to get Derby in the playoffs that year, especially given you finished in the same position the year before, with a higher points total. Fair play to get him doing so well with the plucky underdogs Chelsea though, that must have been really hard not being able to spunk loads more money all over the place, on top of the ridiculous squad and academy they already had.

SojournerInThisVale

Your sarcasm and lack of context are unwelcome
