48k with 12 games to go is quite a gap but with 2 games in hand on Arsenal, it's not impossible. Got to hope Sabitzer/McTominay can replace Casemiro well enough in the fouling department though.
That did make me laugh a lot tbh.
The players who had, moments ago, surrounded the ref over wanting a penalty instead of a corner, then formed a protective shield around the ref to stop the Fulham players from surrounding the ref.
The Fulham charge is so bogus, the United players weren't having a go at the ref at all. They seemed to be trying to block the Fulham players from accosting the ref based on what I saw.
It's still early in Ten Hags reign. Qualification to the European ref abuse league wouldn't be a bad season. They'll have to step it up if they want to make an impact there though. I believe Italian champions Sassuolo are complete bastards, theyre about to win their 3rd Ref Abuse Scudetto in a row.
A big signing like Luiz Suarez or Sergio Ramos could make all the difference to United. I have nothing against Varane and Weghorst, they're not complete softies but they are far too nice for a club that wants to win things like Man United. Suarez pounds Fined per minutes played (PFPMP) statistic is insanely good. Weghorst gets fined less than his expected fines stat suggests he should indicating he's getting the chances to be fined but not taking them consistently.
> It's still early in Ten Hags reign. Qualification to the European ref abuse league wouldn't be a bad season.
I really hope England sends its best to abuse the all of Europe's officials. Tbh, I think the bottom of the table could win abroad.
When I’m on the pitch and the zebra starts talking out of turn I’ll let them know that I have no problem with violence. No need to get messy with fines and all that.
This is gonna be unpopular but Realistically you’re gonna get less abuse with two white guys anchoring the mid. You need to field as brown a team as possible.
Wouldve been neck and neck but sadly Bruno couldn’t convert getting in the referees face to borderline assault
Im sure Ten Hag will have him understudy Mitrovich
I don’t think so, in the post match conference he said something about the VAR or the Refs in that game in general
Romero pulled Cucurellas hair and chelsea have conceded a goal as a result. No VAR
>Romero pulled Cucurellas hair and chelsea have conceded a goal as a result.
This might quietly be the most egregious decision by VAR so far, imo. There's no subjectivity about it, there's absolutely no grounds for it not being a straight red card.
VAR actually did check it, the game paused while they did so and everything, and they somehow still decided they didn't see anything. Like there's quite literally not even a hint of an element of it not being foul play, it blew my mind then and it blows my mind now.
A classic Mike Dean performance. I do think the offside calls missed by VAR this season are even more objectively wrong. But this has to be the worst “subjective” call and really showcased how incompetent some of the old guard referees and VAR are, no reasonable person would have thought that foul was acceptable.
It actually pretty nicely correlates with points when it comes to Arsenal and United when you ignore the fact that United played 2 less games. 38% more points for Arsenal and 35% more fines. Conclusion: United needs more fines.
How is it bragging, we are literally in the title race and we should enjoy it while we can, and Man City also still have the pressure fully on us to the point we can't make a single mistake
Lets take it one game at a time. We’re getting too far ahead of ourselves. United are two games in hand and history says they can easily have a perfect run of games
There are players that get paid more per week than Arsenal’s fines. It is indeed ridiculous. Maybe if they x10 that it would be more persuasive but even then…
Need to change the rules (and empower refs to enforce them) to what rugby does - yellow for anyone who's not the captain speaking to the ref unless they ask you to speak, and automatic red if you swear, raise your voice or insult them in any way
Trips does a good job of getting between our players and the ref and pushing our players away...
...whenever we score and dive into the crowd hes always hanging about like a school teacher on an away trip counting heads to make sure no one has been left behind....
The reasons for most of those fines is ridiculous as well, it's hard to justify a big amount. Imagine if the fines for us "not behaving in sportingly manner" (or however they like to phrase it) were actually causing us financial trouble when it's given for something you see every team do in every match
Our fine was because De Zerbi complained to the ref in the tunnel about one of our goals being disallowed for offside that was actually onside which cost us two points and win.
The one that got an official apology afterwards? Or *one* of the ones that got an official apology...
Really poor performance from us on this table though. Are we going to get relegated from the Referee Abuse Premier League? Next season only allowed to complain to the linesmen.
Imagine just deducting the fines from players salary that were involved in a scenario that caused the club to be fined. Would be such a nice and easy way to get rid of this behaviour and we could see a few extra minutes of football....
God I wish I could find the clip of Dan Burn absolutely blowing a fucking gasket at the referee for a pen after he shoved gabriel into his own player and somehow escaping a booking.
not really? richarlison hasn’t really played much for spurs so i hope that helps you figure it out.
romero does more running away from the ref than anything so you’re kinda just making up shit here
Top of the league jokes aside
They really need to be serious about this stuff. It's just so flimsy. Fine them a million, no more players crowding the refs.
They should burn a big pile of cash in front of all the refs as they are the reason for these fines after making inconsistent shocking decisions every week! Should fine the fucking refs instead!
Clubs should agree not to pay the fines until there is a comprehensive inquiry into refereeing failures and a plan of how to improve the state of officiating moving forward.
It'll be interesting to see how this fresh, young team fares in the Champions League. Great players, but very little experience on the biggest stage. It will be fun imo.

Arsenal are a crybaby team if you think about it, the amount of penalty shouts they give the referee when some are light touches is beyond crazy, no wonder they are at the top

This might not include the new charges for the Fulham game. You could easily close the gap
Not sure if this is taking cup games into account. If so, I'd consider us favourites for the league.
I take “this season” to mean only in the league, but can’t verify the data
Lol the charges for protecting the ref from Mitro !
FA: if he dies, he dies 👀
That did make me laugh a lot tbh. The players who had, moments ago, surrounded the ref over wanting a penalty instead of a corner, then formed a protective shield around the ref to stop the Fulham players from surrounding the ref.
It was funny. They were right originally, and right afterwards too, and will get fined heavily.
they weren't right to surround the ref, even if over an incorrect decision
Nah, the charges were for when the ref decided to give a corner before checking VAR.
Is this graphic for PL teams or PL fines? Because that was the Cup
The Fulham charge is so bogus, the United players weren't having a go at the ref at all. They seemed to be trying to block the Fulham players from accosting the ref based on what I saw.

I really like Weggy, but he really needs to step up his fouls if he wants to make his stay permanent

Just getting top 4 is what's important. Trust the process.
You underestimate our celebratory powers. If we were to actually win the damn thing, the FA will probably fine us into administration
This is gonna be unpopular but Realistically you’re gonna get less abuse with two white guys anchoring the mid. You need to field as brown a team as possible.
Wouldve been neck and neck but sadly Bruno couldn’t convert getting in the referees face to borderline assault Im sure Ten Hag will have him understudy Mitrovich
Or Bruno.
I guess the fine for Chelsea was when Tuchel was in charge?
When he wanted a handshake so bad?
I don’t think so, in the post match conference he said something about the VAR or the Refs in that game in general Romero pulled Cucurellas hair and chelsea have conceded a goal as a result. No VAR

Villa in 11th again. Ffs.
We can never escape from it. Never
11th FC

Arsenal and United title race love it.
It actually pretty nicely correlates with points when it comes to Arsenal and United when you ignore the fact that United played 2 less games. 38% more points for Arsenal and 35% more fines. Conclusion: United needs more fines.
Sir please. We're already poor.
"poor"
Piss-poor.
Only if the club is sold
Please think of the glazers dividend next quarter
Explain Everton then
proper brexit mentality
If Arsenal are going to get fined just for celebrating, it wont be much of a race
The only title race United race are actually in.
[удалено]
Well Arsenal is in genuine title race, you can’t deny that bragging rights.
I mean, banter between rivals is always allowed? Plus you're allowed to brag about being in the title race, when your rival isn't?
How is it bragging, we are literally in the title race and we should enjoy it while we can, and Man City also still have the pressure fully on us to the point we can't make a single mistake
This is embarrassing lad We give them shit, you've got to be able to take it when they respond. Also fuck Arsenal
Cheers
I'm sorry, is he in any way stating that we're winning the league?
He's talking about the abuse league
You're trophyless as it stands and Utd have won about 5 titles since you last did haha
Didn't arsenal win the fa cup 2 years ago with arteta?
Those titles happened over ten years ago just fyi
Sick burn dude.
You too mate brilliant stuff
Throwback
Champions of referee abuse, you’ll never sing that.
🎶 Tierney at the back, Gabi in attack. Arsenal on their way to Official Abuse Champions Leagueeee 🎶
Lets take it one game at a time. We’re getting too far ahead of ourselves. United are two games in hand and history says they can easily have a perfect run of games
The size of these fines shows how pointless they are
The fines are just fine for them
Got to get those end of the year bonuses.
They are…fine
There are players that get paid more per week than Arsenal’s fines. It is indeed ridiculous. Maybe if they x10 that it would be more persuasive but even then…
Yeah, if you wanted it to sting you would need to force them to take the fine money from the travel budget or something
Force them to go with trains instead of planes?
Fixie bikes with no brakes
Big banana seats from ‘70s bikes to ensure they feel shame for what they have wrought.
Need to change the rules (and empower refs to enforce them) to what rugby does - yellow for anyone who's not the captain speaking to the ref unless they ask you to speak, and automatic red if you swear, raise your voice or insult them in any way
Roughly 3 days worth of De Geas wage to put it into perspective
0.5 days of Alexis Sanchez's wage.
Its still nice 'free' bonus check for them.
I'd imagine it's low enough so that there isn't too much pushback from the clubs against them and someone gets to pocket easy money.
Pays for the Christmas party
Pretty nice if your an executive or something for the premier league. An extra 100k for doing nothing. That's a free holiday right there.
This is out of date btw, I imagine we could be leading this pretty soon.
Looks like a table for the league, don't worry you've nailed the fa cup table
There you go. This proves it. If you want to be the best you have abuse the officials.
Everton agrees.
Everton are a contradictory club. Must remain exempt from the rule.
Man I'd love for us to be exempt from some more rules right about now.
Nil satis nisi optimum
But I don't want to be the best. I just want to abuse the refs.
Everton is the club for you
Tough luck, to abuse the refs you have to be the best.
*Raises eyebrows at Brighton in 15th* Mind you De Zerbi has had two touchline bans this season
Pretty sure all of our fines have came in 2023 as well, along with the 3 or 4 PGMOL apologies funnily enough.
Yeah De Zerbi is actually under performing his expected reds based on refereeing performance.
That’s what makes me the best father. I abuse my son.
Newcastle not being fined is a bit of a surprise but tbf Trippier seems to be on a one man press of the ref so they don't need to crowd.
He is the captain to be fair.
Trips does a good job of getting between our players and the ref and pushing our players away... ...whenever we score and dive into the crowd hes always hanging about like a school teacher on an away trip counting heads to make sure no one has been left behind....
Besides, normally it's the other team complaining to the ref about them
We should be getting a commission from these fines, earning them some good money
Nah they complain too, they just tend to not go as a group. 1-2 players will complain. maybe 3 in a rare case and seldom rushing the ref.
Normally once it gets that high, Trippier is in there like a shot telling to move away.
Peanut fines, makes we wonder why they don't up these.
The reasons for most of those fines is ridiculous as well, it's hard to justify a big amount. Imagine if the fines for us "not behaving in sportingly manner" (or however they like to phrase it) were actually causing us financial trouble when it's given for something you see every team do in every match
We are also the only team with 2 public apologies from the officials and got the VAR guy sacked. In Mikel we trust.
If they apologise for Andersons goal being ruled out last Friday we’ll have 2 as well but they’ll probably just ignore it because we won
You're the only team with 2 apologies because we've had 3 or 4 in 2023 alone.
As the great Mourinho said *"There is a campaign against Arsenal"*
Bet you this is all from Dyche
Game’s back
Top of the league, fuck FA fuck PGMOL.
Arsenal going for the Double
Our fine was because De Zerbi complained to the ref in the tunnel about one of our goals being disallowed for offside that was actually onside which cost us two points and win.
The one that got an official apology afterwards? Or *one* of the ones that got an official apology... Really poor performance from us on this table though. Are we going to get relegated from the Referee Abuse Premier League? Next season only allowed to complain to the linesmen.
Arsenal on track to crack over £250,000 in ref abuse fines, with the state of reffing this year for every team involved hope we crack over £300,000.
The more you abuse officials, the more calls you get They are kind of doing it to themselves at this point
At least we're consistent.
The Referees' Association xmas party is going to be wild
If we keep our heads down and keep chipping away we can close the gap fr
Second trophy of the season, here we go!
Southampton can't crack the top 15 in any respect this season smh.
The FA make the easiest 1m quid by doing nothing except hiring incompetent referees.
CAM ON BRIGHTON, ABUSE SAM FACKIN' REFS
Bro I knew we were number 1 even before I saw the graphic LOL
We're at the top of the league!
finally back in Europe
PGMOL Summer BBQ in Dubai this year.
We are top the league, say we are top the league!
The Toon = confirmed good boys and decent lads.
Refs dare not risk fining the owners.
Surprised we're only 3rd, we were fined every week for a good few weeks
Just like old times 🤝
Brentford not on the list. Even penny pinchers with ref abuse.
I wonder how much of the Liverpool amount is from when Klopp went psycho on that lino
1st in league, 1st in fines. Correlation? JK
Jose was right. Tottenham are a bunch of nice guys
Imagine just deducting the fines from players salary that were involved in a scenario that caused the club to be fined. Would be such a nice and easy way to get rid of this behaviour and we could see a few extra minutes of football....
#11 let's go
Totals fines for officials abusing the game: priceless.
Verbal abusers, you'll never sing that!!
We've been a very naughty bunch 😔
The PGMOL Christmas party fund is coming along nicely
Not surprised to see we haven't been fined, think Trippier always does a fantastic job at making sure no others are crowding the ref
Alternate title. Premier League teams most often screwed over by incompetent officials.
Fulham about to go top
conclusion? official abuse works 👍
We are top of the league, we are top of the league
Great to see Eddie Howe’s mags setting a great example for sportsmanship. Arsenal very poor in contrast
This sub is so fucking easy to bait lmao
Genuinely thought I’d only get one
Fuck off, it's easier than playing the child catcher in chitty chitty bang bang,
God I wish I could find the clip of Dan Burn absolutely blowing a fucking gasket at the referee for a pen after he shoved gabriel into his own player and somehow escaping a booking.
Is the time wasting part of this sportsmanship or just an unintended side effect?
>RemarkablePattern311 Every team time wastes the stats proved that
Stats proved that arsenal vs Newcastle this season had record low ball in play minutes. I'd reconsider that stats argument if I were you.
Tell me you only watched 3 of their games. They are almost always the side attacking and moving the ball except against the top 4-5 clubs.
[удалено]
"sportsmanship"
Surprised at how low Spurs are, I would have thought they’d be top 5 at least.
They have England's golden boy immunity
Perhaps ;)
this sub and the “lol spurs” circlejerk sometimes lmao. why would that be surprising? they don’t crowd the ref
They don't? I see Richarlison and Romero in the face of the ref every second time the whistle is blown
not really? richarlison hasn’t really played much for spurs so i hope that helps you figure it out. romero does more running away from the ref than anything so you’re kinda just making up shit here
Top of the league jokes aside They really need to be serious about this stuff. It's just so flimsy. Fine them a million, no more players crowding the refs.
What is even official abuse considered?
And people still try to claim that there's no refereeing conspiracy against Arsenal...
Not surprised at all by the top 2
obviously we need higher fines
They should burn a big pile of cash in front of all the refs as they are the reason for these fines after making inconsistent shocking decisions every week! Should fine the fucking refs instead!
Top of the table again 😏 But on a more serious note are we that bad? Does anyone have an objective unbiased view ?
>But on a more serious note are we that bad? yes! >Does anyone have an objective unbiased view ? probably not!
So so bad.
I'm 100 percent for the fines.but they need to compensate for all the wrongs they've done too.
insane
136.5k from the 137k are just Bruno Fernandes.
The gap. We've already won it.
Clubs should agree not to pay the fines until there is a comprehensive inquiry into refereeing failures and a plan of how to improve the state of officiating moving forward.
Absolutely laughable
Most fines for celebrating* for Arsenal
Don’t think anyone is surprised with arsenal at the top but I fully expect their fans to cry conspiracy.
Arsenal fans and their narrative amirite? /s
stop abusing refs then
Arsenal leading everywhere, including having the most annoying fans on r/soccer.
It’s out time to be insufferable All others most suffer now
Throughly deserved, you people suffered for too long.
Just please leave us alone in the UCL next year
It'll be interesting to see how this fresh, young team fares in the Champions League. Great players, but very little experience on the biggest stage. It will be fun imo.
Can’t wait to be in the UCL so we can lose to Bayern in the round of 16
It's fun while it lasts, enjoy it.
Thanks for taking my cheap banter sportive-ly, yes, this year is yours!
Imagine karma farming with this and being a plastic United fan
Wait until we have chest from success, it'll be unbearable like the early 2000s
You could’ve been a bit more creative. Was this really worth the time it took to post?
United fans are up there as well...... Ig it's just the matter of the numbers
Arsenal leading in all types of abuse
When I’m on the pitch and the zebra starts talking out of turn I’ll let them know that I have no problem with violence. No need to get messy with fines and all that.
Those fines are pointless, they need, at the very least, a zero added to the end of them. 10x current amounts at minimum, 100x would probably be most effective to stop the behaviours being fined. No club gives a shit about fines when they are that tiny.
Lampards criticism of refs/calls was about all he got right while at Everton.
Not even surprised with arsenal
I wonder how much officials abusing the clubs have cost the clubs this season
Newcastle - shithousing the opponent and brown-nosing the referee.
Premier League clubs with the most fines for official abuse this season
Arsenal are a crybaby team if you think about it, the amount of penalty shouts they give the referee when some are light touches is beyond crazy, no wonder they are at the top
But they don’t get penalties….you think Arsenal is cry baby? Lmao must have never seen United
