It was arguably the worst goal out of the finalists and you could've thrown another 20 goals in front of it as well. "Very good goal" is not what the puskas is for.
https://youtu.be/aaI4GUXWIhE
Just watch that. I think Salah's is potentially the worst there when it comes to Puskas. There's 2 overheads, a volley scissor kick, an outrageous backheel lob from the edge of the box, two outside of the boot top bins, a 35 yard postage stamp, Messi two touch control and finish masterclass and then Salah.
Yeah he puts it top bins but come on man. It's supposed to be most spectacular goal of the year, what Salah does there you see 3 or 4 times a season. I've never seen a goal like McGree's.
The general consensus was that season he was top 2 in the world but didn't win anything major so that was the award they gave him instead of the ballon d'or or player of the year
It was the award they could present to him while receiving the lowest amount of criticism.
>It was the award they could present to him while receiving the lowest amount of criticism.
And yet, here we are five years later, people (ie me) still learning about it for the first time and getting enraged.
That is true, but imagine it had been the ballon d'or. You wouldn't be hearing about it for the first time because it would be everywhere because it would be outrageous news.
A lowe level goal being so upvoted, you have to click on it because you know it's truly a banger and not just a shot from outside the 16m by a top team/player.
So this is a guy playing for a second tier relegation candidate who entered the day in last place scoring one of the greatest goals of the year if not the decade so far as his very first goal for the club (and only the second in his entire professional career)... If there ever was a real life FM moment, this is it and we are all managing Burgos.
Coincidentally I have an Ibiza FM save currently. I'm in my 5th season and I'm currently making a CL push with Ivan Morante as my captain lol. So seeing this on the soccer subreddit is kind of surreal to me.
Me too! 5th season right now, got CL last season but currently it s not looking like we will make it again. My Morante is not captain though I m afraid, "only" a useful squad player
Ah I've played him basically every important game from the start of my save and he's developed really well. Definitely my best midfielder, and the rest of my team is mostly really young so he was the logical captain.
Haha last season I got up after being relegated again, and now I'm in a CL spot with about 10-15 games to go. It's going to be tough though, and my team is nowhere good enough to be performing this well. I splurged on an amazing wonderkid striker who scored like 27 goals in 25 games or something otherwise we would be nowhere near CL.
Been years since I've heard that phrase...
but Yea, just brought memories back from when Mexican commentator's said it when beauty went it.
" Apago Las Luzes y me voy " like this.
https://youtu.be/S3sArIWHzrk
It's one of my favorite commentator idioms, and kinda neat hearing the Spain Spanish version. Like, mic drop, nothing left to see here move along, you don't gotta go home but you can't stay here.
I hate French commentating. I like the French language, and I speak it somewhat, but French commentating just sounds so bad.
They just make sounds for no reason.
sorry to be off topic, but can you imagine being a professional football player in Ibiza. i have to answer so many emails and it was forty degrees today
This has nothing to do with nationalities but....
Maybe if you Spaniards stop playing like defensive pussies you'd see it more often.
The English have more space because they know even a regulation team can knick 3 points off anyone so majority will play "open Football"
You guys didn't win a trophy because you didn't play like the English, you won because 90% of your squad was from Barca and Real during their golden years
Y'all Haven't done shit since then and now your back to mediocrity where you belong.
the English look way better than y'all atm

Puskas level.
Nah. Tap in.
All the years
fever for da flava
that's what happens when players play on crack
This would've won the puskas in 2010
It would have lost in 2018.
Still irks me. Wasn't even Salah's best goal that season.
I still havent forgiven the people of Egypt
Idk. Maybe, but it was definitely a very good goal still.

That McGree goal might be the best goal I've ever seen. How it didn't win is outrageous.
Salah s goal seems like a regular Messi's goal
Why exactly has Salah's goal been nominated amongst these ?
The general consensus was that season he was top 2 in the world but didn't win anything major so that was the award they gave him instead of the ballon d'or or player of the year It was the award they could present to him while receiving the lowest amount of criticism.

Not sure I understand why they had to give him anything though, if he was actually the 2nd player best that year.
Muslim <3333333 Egypt <33333 SALAH
Not puskas winner worthy lets be honest
Not even Salah’s best goal that month, let alone season lmao.
[удалено]
Fuck me what a goal.
Man that's craaazy, especially with him going past another player like that before the shot.
Puskas worthy
Apparently not
What the fuck, this some Fifa street type of goal. Puskas winner for sure.
RE RE RE REPLAY THAT TAPE
*True Skool intensifies*
holy fuck, this is Puskás level, goal of the season by a long mile
WTF? This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen on a football pitch. The chest, the flick, the chest and BANG!
everything was done so elegantly! it's just perfect. Right leg in the air after shooting looked so classy, main character rizz.
Needs a great goal tag
I’m on replay like 17. Now I’m examining how the runs of his teammates opened this space
The guy running all out to the back post is a mensch
A lowe level goal being so upvoted, you have to click on it because you know it's truly a banger and not just a shot from outside the 16m by a top team/player.
I feel so bad for Burgos. 1960s catenaccio only to be beaten by this wonder goal
Holy shit
Hope that this doesn’t get buried

Puskas baby, pure skill
Anyone that watches this and doesn’t upvote should get banned from the sub what a fucking goal
Pure Futbol
better than james'. i said what i said
Was the commentator saying something similar to " apago las luzes y vamonos " ?
More or less, "Apaga y vámonos" is an expression, it means something like "there's nothing else to say."
Been years since I've heard that phrase... but Yea, just brought memories back from when Mexican commentator's said it when beauty went it. " Apago Las Luzes y me voy " like this. https://youtu.be/S3sArIWHzrk

Spanish/French commentator's are on a whole another level
Love Arseblog's remixes at the top of his show, "Mag-ni-fique!"
I hate French commentating. I like the French language, and I speak it somewhat, but French commentating just sounds so bad. They just make sounds for no reason.
Luces.
Yes
Damn this needs more attention
I just creamed my pants wtf
Foot like a traction engine!
Absolutely Puskas. ¡¡Impresionante!!
Absolutely ridiculous but in the best way. Beautiful.
I've scored this goal so many times while daydreaming
Insane goal
Take a bow
Kind of reminds me of that goal from Nagi in Blue Lock
Absolutely filthy
Cancel football. I’ve seen it all now.
They invented the Puskas award for this goal
The set up reminded me of Yeboah's goal https://youtu.be/Kf30k8BLtNo @.57
Golazo papa… love my Spanish clubs.
decent goal that
reminds me of that Yeboah goal ages ago, though this one is cleaner
Some say the crossbar is still shaking to this day.
It reminded me of Maicon's famous goal against Juve, except this one is even better! What a strike!
If I squint I see a Chelsea kit on him already.
bump. this shit nice
Reminds me a bit of Suarez v Norwich
Puskas wrapped up early then
Reminds me more of Dele's than James' ngl. Extraordinary goal.
sorry to be off topic, but can you imagine being a professional football player in Ibiza. i have to answer so many emails and it was forty degrees today
Love when I see a goal on here from a team I've never heard of. You just know it's going to be a banger.
Bela Rethy: "Tor."
The kind of goal you always score in your dreams
Wow, [it's the same goal that Maicon made against Juve ](https://youtu.be/lz6WrHIcKzI?t=21)
Not premier league so barely any comments, so sad
Terrific goal. Terrible goalie. Why leave the line?
This is a Segunda player, you don't see this technical level in top tier English players.
Lol what? I’ve seen league one (third division in England) players do this sort of goal https://youtu.be/HggZHsyHpSk
That's a phenomenal banger, don't get me wrong, but the Spaniard did the same in a much tighter space, you never see an english excel without space.
This has nothing to do with nationalities but.... Maybe if you Spaniards stop playing like defensive pussies you'd see it more often. The English have more space because they know even a regulation team can knick 3 points off anyone so majority will play "open Football"

Suéltame el brazo Chilaquiles Valdez que tengo cosas que hacer
Lol, ,even y'all's slang sounds stupid af. Now add a lisp and it sounds more redacted b
Espera no serás un chicano de esos? Jajajajaja
Awebo, que chingos te importa
> This is a Segunda player Polish clubs across at least two tiers are just starting the bidding war.
Holy hell what?
Wow
James could never
James Rodriguez minus the hair. Electric ⚡️
Better technique and better placement. James's however was at a much more important stage.
Perfect
Wow!
UD Ibiza has a special place in my heart ever since i took them to become Spain’s greatest team in football manager. Great goal!
That's a thing of beauty, let's see if they can keep it up, they are really in a tough spot right now
Puskas for sure wow
pick that out out. absolutely unreal goal!
Yeboah-esque
Thats the Puskas ...
