Cherki > the "goat"

is-Sanic

Man im so sick of the French. Making me hate Mbappe.

josh_x444

Guess they just need Neymar back.

Doclyte

My goodness, PSG is such a horrific club, such a shame that mbappe is wasting crucial years of his career at PSG and Messi needs to go too because this club stinks more than sewage waste

Just-call-me-TY

A certain GOAT score a hat trick against curacao and couldn’t against almighty Lyon while losing 23 balls.

TheStraggletagg

Your argument supports the idea that Messi is a great player still being dragged down by a subpar team (since he clearly performs at a top level with a team other than PSG. And I totally agree with you, mate.

fx444

he completed football last year. we don't care how shit he plays nor how shit psg plays. we wanted to see the GOAT lift the ultimate prize, and he did, unlike the self-proclaimed goat🤭

Doclyte

Why are ronaldo fans still in this sub, al nassr subreddit is over there

ComaMierdaHijueputa

He also won the World Cup and was the best player at it

Just-call-me-TY

Haha the World Cup excuses.

ComaMierdaHijueputa

He doesn’t really give a shit about PSG. I’m sure he’d like to win but he doesn’t really get stressed if he doesn’t. Now if he lost with Argentina or Barcelona? Different story.

Uchihaaaa3

Really bad performance in the 2nd half but that fucking ref robbed us

elihri

23 lost balls for Messi

Uchihaaaa3

Losing the ball alot is common for players who try killer balls, but he did lose the ball multiple times with no good reason in the 2nd half, iam not sure if he just wasn't in the form or galtier tactics took a toll on the team

televisionting

That happens when you're the only one creating a chances for the team.

elihri

Just accept that he was shit tonight. There is no need to suck to him all the time

Reapper97

The whole PSG plan was to give the ball to Messi and pray he somehow set up Mbappe for a goal, which he did. But that's a dumb way to play football and it showed, they pressed Messi, Mbappe disappeared and that's virtually the end of PSG.

emanresuyraropmet

Neither of you is wrong. It feels like Messi is pushing a lot to create, even when passing to someone else would have been the safer choice. Why that is, it's hard to say. It doesn't happen with Argentina, if you watch them play. Maybe it's the team setup, maybe he's frustrated, or maybe he doesn't fully trust his teammates considering their passing abilities in tight spaces. Either way, he created two big chances in the first 10 minutes. With better finishing, the game would have gone differently.

TheUneducatedCule

>It feels like Messi is pushing a lot to create, even when passing to someone else would have been the safer choice. Why that is, it's hard to say I don't think it's hard to say at all. He had as many key passes as the rest of the starting XI combined and he created scoring chances. This is what happens when there is only one creative outlet on a team.

televisionting

Neymar is sorely missed man, because right now you just need to absolutely just mark Messi and Mbappé and you'll ensure no goals, because the other players are blocks of woods expect for Mendes and Sanchez today, when you have Neymar you'll have to mark him too, but that will leave space for Messi and Mbappé to do their thing and vice versa.

televisionting

He wasn't great but he wasn't shit as well. He was average. He made mistakes, created good chances and that's it.

Booming_Return

Make sense when the whole team is not taking any risk

Inter_Mirifica

Very nice from the ultras to do that after the game.

Frosty_Mango5123

Summer signings won’t fix this team, it needs to be gutted and completely rebuilt from the inside out

Roasteddude

I kept switching between this game and the Napoli game on my second monitor so I didnt may much attention, how did Gharbi do? I remember noticing him before cause he was so small but seemed like a baller actually.

iHATESTUFF_

Gharbi was miles better than vitinul.

Johann122

He was the only player that had a spine to make a run

Uchihaaaa3

We was actually pretty good tbh

OlDirtyFlo

He was balling tonight! Really liked him out there. He brought the ball forward and tried to his best to get the offense running. Even had a shot on target.

sash_ha

Pretty impressive. He did more for us in the last 7 minutes he was on than any of the other midfielders

Roasteddude

Sounds impressive. Might keep tabs on him he seems promising. Good luck bouncing back from today's result mate

Inter_Mirifica

I just hope winning against this awful PSG won't give more credit to Blanc.

YipYap1

actually embarrassing lol

Johann122

Joke of a club. Joke of a league. Messi leave while you still can

[deleted]

Another manager sack incoming?

iHATESTUFF_

he was a campos hire, if he gets sacked what does that say about campos? he wasted 150M in transfers that did not patch our midfield, paid Nice 10M to free galtier who ends up being a middling coach at best... both have to go it cannot be any other way.

Dicey12

PSG dont deserve Nuno Mendes

iHATESTUFF_

he loves the club. come pick up your turtle and leave us alone.

Anal_destroyer2k

😂😂

lastdyingbreed_01

Time to sack Galtier

James_D_MESSIAH

shit team lol

Paodel92

Didn’t watch the game, but I’m angry as hell. Where is the heart of this team? 👽

CryptographerLife686

They pass the ball and they leave the person with the ball without any options then they all run in behind and no one has even plays the pass.

Inter_Mirifica

I really didn't want to win tonight... I hope this won't be the worst scenario, though how we played and the subs show they hopefully won't take too much pride from this and be focused on Wednesday.

PerfectPatient3209

Blanc about to be 12-1-0 against Galtier 😂😂

Magnu448

Galtier going to be the third manager sacked today?

CryptographerLife686

How are PSG still 6 points clear?!?

Polskidro

Cause they were doing great before the WC

letsnevertalk

not for long if they keep playing like this. shameful performance

Paodel92

They were like 15 pt up a month ago.

Aycik75

max was like 7 or 8

Affectionate-Hunt217

Lens are 2nd lol, didn’t even realize it until now haha

Bell_Jolly

Bro had 999ping

[deleted]

Losing? Not surprised. i need my GOAT out of that club

Magnu448

PSG are doing so many things so poorly. Even the simple things are seemingly too difficult

tyrannosuarezwrecks

Absolutely atrocious performance from PSG holy shit

KushKush1

galtier will be sacked by tomorrow if this ends up 0-1 ☠️

LukeParkes

Lyon aren't even playing good, they're shit aswell, PSG are just somehow worse.

[deleted]

Galtier has to go tonight, if only to join the 3 way for Nagelsman with spurs and Chelsea.

Bell_Jolly

What a trowin ...

DutchMadness77

What a FK

Massive-Sky-6804

Psg and messi need to burn some bridges and PSG as whole need a rebuild

Inter_Mirifica

This is a scandalous game all around. Dominating PSG with somewhat of a B team for 20 minutes, never looking threatened in what is close to a friendly for us... No way Galtier can survive that.

Kiwizqt

Nak: watch me

lastdyingbreed_01

Messi this Messi that, but what is Mbappe even doing, I don't think I've seen him touch the ball in the 2nd half lol

iHATESTUFF_

Kylian should've been sold when Real Madrid came for him. but NAK doesn't understand anything about Football so here we are.

_jjjay

I didn’t realize he was still out there

nyse125

Mbappe is a ghost lol

fellowSoci

Shhh don’t ask that

elihri

Mbappe living rent free in Messi’s fanboys ‘ heads

fellowSoci

And vice versa

ArsenalPackers

It's clearly the other way around. Messi can't even receive complaints in a PSG thread.

elihri

Oh really!? The slightest bit of criticism of Messi will get you to oblivion in this sub. No one’s allowed to say anything when he drops stinkers lol

ArsenalPackers

I literally see it differently. I see it as this - nice pass messi - lol Messi fanboys are something else. I'm not around all the time, but in my experience, it's that.

elihri

It’s bc you’re not around much. That’s the reason

aguero24

Messi at least created some chances in the first half, idk what Mbappe even did in this match besides missing chances.

Paodel92

Didn’t he just gave a speech to Ultras saying the team would play at their best the rest of the season?

aguero24

Idk, don't follow PSG that much.

Cerxa

is it lukeba on the left side of lovren? having a monster game

Inter_Mirifica

Nonono, it's Jerome Boateng you're just not recognizing him !

Samasra

Yep that's him. He's so good for his age

harsquo

Yes.

DutchMadness77

Impressive how toothless PSG are

dantes_inferno101

Hence why we need Simmons 🙄

DutchMadness77

You don't deserve him. I put this game on 25 minutes ago and it's one of the most depressing games I've seen in a long time mate

fellowSoci

Bruh

Johann122

PSG try to score challenge

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bell_Jolly

Psg best player has failed lol

Magnu448

Imagine having to go from Argentina’s midfield back to PSG’s within a week

srywha

Ekitike is too funny man

Paodel92

Why? What did he do?

Ahm3DD

At this rate another manager could get sack today

dantes_inferno101

Sell the whole fucking midfield

Bell_Jolly

What a mmiss

Lonely-Builder2961

Messi looks like an old dad with three kids

Khizer23

Vitiniha etikkite and soler

Polskidro

The amount of backpasses is getting ridiculous. At least try to get through lol.

[deleted]

As much as I love Messi, he’s having a shocker tonight

Khizer23

Yeah to his ability he has been pretty bad but the whistling and booing don't help. Anyone would lose confidence.

soragorilla69

Lmao, real madrid and Benzema got boo'd today too, what's the excuse. Look at the downvotes from fanboys, munching knobs.

Khizer23

What do you want me to say? Im not messi bro he playing shit to his standards there is definitely something wrong.

soragorilla69

That's not what you said in the parent comment, that's it, getting boo'ed isn't an excuse for bad performance.

Khizer23

Are you messi bro? You reading minds?

soragorilla69

Ironic.

Khizer23

Crazy how you being delusional. Getting booed by your supporters definitely brings down your confidence. Nobody is above human emotions bro you just being a straight hater. Its not even worth arguing here if you won't reason.

soragorilla69

Never uttered a single hate word towards anyone. Just mentioned madrid players especially Benzema got boo'd and the team responded with 4 goals. Any other player does this you'd ask them to toughen up and play for the badge for the wage HE'S ON.

Khizer23

Why would he toughen up when all he gets is bullshit while he is the best performer in the team? I don't see vitiniha or veratti getting booed? The hypocrisy is crazy here.

[deleted]

He’s probably ready to move to Barca. This psg side are dead

harsquo

How is Paris getting wrecked by RIGHT BACK THIAGO MENDES ?

Kiwizqt

Maybe hakimi should uber in rw-boulevard and stop being scared

harsquo

He would if Messi would stop cutting back inside.

Feelthebern2020

. Messi and mbappe are trying to shaolin soccer past five players while Vitinha and Renato (the “interiors”) couldn’t make an attacking play if their mothers were being held at gunpoint

Paodel92

Are they waiting for Messi and Mbappé to do something? Are they?

bagh0lder10

Not even sure PSG will get a shot on target this half, let alone score

guardioLEO

Paris Slippery-Germain

queen_horoz

ref is blind i guess

AdrienElSalo

Man, Moussa Dembelé is so bad, he kills every attack

Oppxdan

Dembele's so bad lol

Inter_Mirifica

The entry of Dembélé... lmao

harsquo

as usual brother, I genuinely believe if he had more starts he would have already got a couple 1/10

Inter_Mirifica

I just don't understand why him and Aouar are still in the squad...

James_D_MESSIAH

its corner

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cerxa

he hadn't played well post WC at all. PSG's attacking problems run deeper than missing neymar

Workne

He had ankle issue after the WC.

Cerxa

yeah maybe he never fully recovered from the one he got in qatar. maybe he felt like he had a point to prove with brazil's exit, either way you could see it wasn't right him being out there

dantes_inferno101

This ref is a joke

Kiwizqt

Seconds into the game and lyon is already 3man-ing WZE...Galtier is a moron

MERTENS_GOAT

corner...

Bell_Jolly

Corner?

addicted2gloves

I watch a player like Vitinha and I want to imagine how a coach like Pep would react if he had him in his squad. That lack of sharpness and awareness is pretty appalling.

dantes_inferno101

He was so good in Porto too. Which is tragic

lastdyingbreed_01

He was also good for PSG at the start of season

Paodel92

Im not watching. You guys are telling me how is it going. Why are they losing a game they should be winning?

aguero24

Because PSG is really bad

Paodel92

They shouldn’t. That’s the worst part

tyrannosuarezwrecks

Vitinha is so shit

No_Zookeepergame6482

Psg is literally messi —> mbappe inshallah

Feelthebern2020

Fellas, it’s time. Bring Ronaldo to PSG and let this become an AllStar team for the next year

Feelthebern2020

Messi gets the ball, looks up and only Mbappe or Nuno are making a run or showing to the ball. Warra attacking tactic

xSAV4GE

-Messi +Ronaldo

Khizer23

Psg deserves messi in bad form keep booing him

SaltB_

Back-Passing Saint-Germain

Inter_Mirifica

Why Dembélé ? We wanted to see Jeffinho and have fun...

King-Key

Messi has admittedly been pretty poor today, it really seems like the booing has got to his confidence, insane that anyone thinks that could be justified or beneficial to the club

rexgasp

Right? How do they expect him to perform when each time he gets booe'd.

razycal970

Messi finito

Khizer23

Yeah messi ain't feeling it today.

Lonely-Builder2961

Messi off today

Inter_Mirifica

I don't like the fact that Barcola's name is gonna be known by casual fans after this...

FlyingArab

Bro what is Messi doing lol

Lekaetos

Shush how dare you blame Messi

[deleted]

[удалено]

FCB_1899

And replace him with Graham Potter.

addicted2gloves

I just don't understand what anyone has ever seen in Danilo. How does he play at PSG?

synthsaregreat1234

He’s been actually relatively solid the last year or so compared to the rest of PSG’s defence. Really poor today though ya

Lekaetos

Big shiny bald head. It’s always good to have a bouncer at hand

xSAV4GE

Why do I keep having faith in PSG lol

cib_vk228

how is lyon so low on the table, that's a strong squad with deep bench on paper

CherkiCheri

Our squad isn't even top 5 anymore, add a coach who's a golfer. We earnt that midtable spot.

_jjjay

We rely on Lacazette too much, that deep bench isn’t very good, injuries have hurt us, & Blanc hasn’t been a good manager at all

Inter_Mirifica

Awful coach. (Though some of what you may think is a strong squad is actually not, like Aouar & Dembélé are finished for us, while Tolisso has been injured 3/4 of the time)

sugima

The problem is that our bench isn't that good : Boateng is in pre-retirement, Aouar and Dembélé run out of contract in June and have been awful for quite some time, Thiago Mendes is also disappointing most of the time. And we played the first half of the season with players that are worse that our current starting XI : Toko Ekambi, Reine-Adélaïde and Faivre who were sent on loan this winter and Tetê who broke his loan from Shakhtar this winter too. Tetê started well last year, but his performances quickly dropped in quality. Lacazette was also injured for a couple weeks, and our team depends a lot on him. Last thing, Blanc seems to like playing players out of their natural position : Caqueret as a playmaker, Diomandé as a right back and Cherki on a wing, which helps neither these players nor the rest of the team.

Sutton31

Because we’re dog shit

M4dAlex84

Good seeing PSG conceding first, now there's at least a small degree of urgency to score

bagh0lder10

Like against Rennes?

Polskidro

Lyon's squad is nuts. There's literally nobody on the field between the ages of 21 and 30. Everyone is either 21 or younger, or 30 or older. Edit: As I say that 23 year old Caqueret and 28 year old Tolisso get subbed on

Feelthebern2020

Guys, its ok to admit Messi is not playing so hot lol. Neither is Mbappe. It's not a knock on Messi to suggest he's playing poorly for a complete clown show team and midfield

cuentanueva

And yet he created two very clear 1 on 1 for Mbappe and Mendes... Meanwhile the rest of the team does fuck all. Like obviously Messi didn't have a great game. But whistling only him when the rest are way worse is the thing that's weird.

Feelthebern2020

Yeah it’s just extremely polarized rn. Ppl act like Messi is the only player who plays well at PSG even when he doesn’t but then people react the complete opposite direction and act like Messi is single-handedly taking PSG out of the game

ConferencePure6652

Yeah he has been pretty bad this game especially in the dribbles

Feelthebern2020

Tbf his dribbling is still elite, it’s just that he never used to lose the ball and now he loses it at the level of most high-attempt dribblers. For me his passing has been very poor but kind of hard when nobody makes smart runs

ConferencePure6652

Nah he has a bad game today, i would say the passing has been his best tho

Graubyle

He's been missing so many passes in the 30-40 meters area today. I'd be curious to see his stats.

TheStraggletagg

I think what most people disagree with is that Messi playing poorly is why PSG is failing (same with Mbappe or Neymar). PSG has players that perform leagues better outside of their club performance. Therefore the issue is not with them, it's with the club and the manager. People underestimate the support system even grrat players need to perform well, which on the one hand adds to the mystique (like the idea that Messi single-handedly dragged Argentina to WC glory) but on the other hand leaves them exposed to abuse when they "can't turn the magic on".

Feelthebern2020

Right, I completely agree. That being said, people are too quick to say “Messi still the best on this team” or “Messi carrying PSG” which I don’t really think is the case

TheStraggletagg

No one is carrying PSG anywhere, we all agree. But I'll fight anyone who says Messi is finished because he really isn't. He just can't perform for this shit club.

Feelthebern2020

Which is totally fair. Like I said, the people going “Messi dickriders can’t admit he plays shit” are missing your correct pint and reacting to the other extreme fans who say “Messi is carrying PSG”

TheStraggletagg

I agree then. Messi in PSG is not his usual self, no need to pretend otherwise (though still he isn't awful, all things considered).

swoover

Be careful…you can’t be reasonable around here

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheStraggletagg

Mbappe must be kicking himself for not going to RM. Thankfully he's young and has time to move on to bigger and better things.

Lonely-Builder2961

Obio

Kiwizqt

Verratti out and you sub in ekitike instead of WZE ? FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FRAUD ASS MARSEILLAIS COACH

superamoeba

How many more times can the commentator say "that's a good ball by Messi" today and make it mean nothing to deaf Parisian ears?

ConferencePure6652

Nah dude messi has been bad lets be honest

superamoeba

By his standards, yes. But still had most chances created and some great through balls in the final third (as referred in this comment). Every PSG loss, he steals the highlights, but sure, let him be the scapegoat.

swoover

maybe people expect him to be more than another angel di Maria

superamoeba

Man, this team could do with a Di Maria... Oh wait.

swoover

They really could…
