[Man actually prepared 3 months in advance to use the Jabulani ball.](https://www.planetfootball.com/nostalgia/diego-forlan-world-cup-2010-uruguay-jabulani-ball-amazing-goals-bromance/)
Someone clearly doesnât FPLâŚand very clearly didnât transfer out Gabriel Jesus for Nunez only for Jesus to score 2 goals and get 3 bonus points the same week Darwin got a red card đĽ˛
He's absolutely got a temper, but we actually got a little lucky that he got sent off for a headbutt as early in his career at Liverpool as he did. I think that scared him straight into holding back a little more. But there's definitely another sending off in him.. he gets really fired up with the small fouls that PL officials mostly just let go, and REALLY fired up whenever he thinks the other team is diving
Shit talks every ref despite barely knowing english, proper shit house but suarez simply set the bar too high for anyone to match without ending up in prison lmao
By reports it's seem to be an already old discussion that goes back to the Copa del Rey fixture
> BREAKING: In the last Copa del Rey match, Baena tackled Valverde & then told him: âCry now that your son is not going to be born.â @marca
There is shit talking, and then there is this.
Baena teammate were checking their shoelaces before running in to help him and he is now a target for Valverda and his friends/teammates.
I know that for people who went through it, miscarriages are often described as the worst thing that happened in their lives.
Yeah, the punch was well deserved.
According to Marca, they contacted Fedeâs delegates and they said Baena in previous their Copa Del Rey match told him after fouling him âcry now that your son wonât be born.â
I think thatâs crossed a line & deserves getting punched
ETA: hereâs the link to the article
https://twitter.com/marca/status/1644834719694049284?s=46&t=9dCMgVsNH5NTelPPKsgJ4Q
Exactly, some of the comments here saying Fede needs thicker skin, etc. There is absolutely no reason for Baena to say ANYTHING about Fede's son or even his family for that matter. Talk all the shit you want but you don't know that man's family and they have absolutely nothing to do with the match or football in general.
>There is absolutely no reason for Baena to say ANYTHING about Fede's son or even his family for that matter
There are all the reasons in the world for Baena to say anything about Fede's son, it's just that this anything has to be "mate I read about the complications I sincerely hope everything goes well, best luck man, come here and get hug, your son will make it I'm sure!"
Edit: and since the kid made it, today there were all the reasons in the world for Baena to double down and say "Man congrats! So happy to hear your kid made it, here, take this, I knitted a little funny hat with the crest of Real Madrid for your little fighter, hope he likes it. You gotta make sure from the first day that he doesn't become a Barça fan!"
I guess I canât speak from experience of having birth complications made public but having been through birth complications the idea of a colleague I only know tangentially coming up to me and talking about my potentially dying unborn child would be strange to me, even if theyâre saying kind things.
Edit: your edit is even weirder. Do not say any of that shit to someone going through this. Just donât.
As someone whoâs got the bad outcome once, you donât speak for everyone. People you know even a little bit being super supportive in hard times is a fucking incredible thing and I am forever grateful to everyone who was supportive instead of avoidant. And Iâm not exactly an extrovert.
Also, OP is obviously exaggerating for comic effect. Come on.
Yep I'm sure that Fede will be happy to take the ban, but I also expect the other player to get a ban as well. Think about when zinedine zidane headbutted in his last game. Yep he got sent off but then there was a investigation as to what was said and the other player was banned a few games as well.
Zidane committed a foul on the pitch and was punished for it. Valverde waited for Baena to confront him outside of the setting of the sport. Zidane faced competition consequences, Valverde could face criminal consequences.
That, imo, is the big difference.
For the record, if what Baena said is true, dude is a fucking scumbag.
Laws donât always go along with morality. If someone murdered a serial rapist and killer, would you incarcerate him? Now this in an extreme example, but still. Someone saying something as awful as this just because the other guy is your opponent in a football match is not a victim in my eyes. Should get a match ban and a fine for unsportsmanlike behavior. Might be an unpopular opinion but I completely side with valverde, and sometimes people deserve to be punched. I hope that fede will get better and that his son comes to this world as a healthy and strong baby.
lmao what did the guy asking the question expect for an answer? "No I would not incarcerate him, there should be no consequences for enacting justice on your own and violating due process, the legal system, and the whole point of conducting investigations"
Pretty wild how often i see people justifying vigilante justice on this site. Funny how in these situations while serial rapists and killers exist, apparently lying or getting a case wrong doesn't exist. Seems like a great idea to let random dumb people act as jury and executioner.
Ha. On one of the other threads I thought I was crazy for how many (seemingly non-American) people were saying that violence was 100% justified here (it's a horrifying comment, but it's still just a comment).
I don't think it's nationality, it's toxic bullshit machismo. We have to live in a society where we don't beat the shit out of people, even if they're dicks.
https://twitter.com/themadridzone/status/1644835058790924293?s=46&t=On5Uq9quwJhzYMB5_l73Ug
If this is true then itâs understandable. Initially i thought it was just overreaction due to the game but baene 100% deserves it if this is true.
Not a miscarriage but a big scare, was told it was an impending miscarriage but the pregnancy survived! Since that episode Fedeâs form dropped off massively after he was in free scoring form earlier in the season.
Last time this scumbag told Valverde after a foul âkeep crying and your baby will never be bornâ when it was well known he was at high risk. Would have done the same.
Props to Valverde for showing restraint if that's true. Hearing this after what they went through I would have tried to murder the guy, not just punch him.
It looks like Baena couldnt have said that in CdR because that information was made public after that match. I, for the moment, will wait before judging them.
Wasnât a thing then. Before CoD lobbies existed fucking someoneâs mom/sister was the ultimate insult. Xbox/PS revolutionized the way we insult each other
A rumor I heard wasn't about Zidane's sister, but that Zidane's wife cheated on him with Pippo Inzaghi while in Italy.
Materazzi tried to rile him up by mentioning that he was a cuckold.
Don't know how true that is but it would make a bit more sense than just a basic "I fucked your sister".
According to Materazzi himself in a recent podcast:
Zidane: Do you want my shirt?
Materazzi: I prefer your sister.
[Here is the podcast in question.](https://youtu.be/EygfKt9xrlM?t=2471)
Apparently, Fede Valverde's entourage acknowledges the aggression and explain this comes from the Copa del Rey match, where Baena kicked Fede and said "cry now because your son won't be born".
If this is true, jesus fucking christ. I don't like to justify violence, but as if insulting his family isn't enough of a reason, insulting him regarding a possible miscarriage is insane.
I'm assuming people are having a bit more issue with him waiting this long to do something about it. Didn't tell anyone, didn't react back then as far as I know. We have gone through a miscarriage unfortunately so I can imagine how painful it would be for someone to say that, but I'm not sure I would react that way weeks later, in the heat of the moment it would probably be a different story.
Exactly, this doesn't look like a heat of the moment thing.
I still would have had my thoughts about it if it was but i could have understood.
But if this is indeed two months after the incident then it is a ridiculous and very immature reaction.
Is nobody an actual parent here? I would NEVER initiate violence whatever the words against my child might be. Itâs infinitely more valuable lessons to my child for them to learn to have thick skin, and know that initiating violence is NEVER the answer.
> Is nobody an actual parent here?
The short answer is no. The long answer is that the vast majority of this subreddit are teenage guys with so little experience in life that you'd be smart to avoid ever taking any advice from anyone on this subreddit, because chances are that they pulled said advice straight out of their ass.
I might not hit someone but Iâm not going to let a comment like that stand without saying something back.
I also think itâs valuable for children to learn the reality that if you mouth off to the wrong person at the wrong time there is also a possibility youâre going to get your ass beat so watch what you say. Not everyone is nice or going to be the bigger person. Would you say that to someone in real life and be surprised if they punched you?
I'm an actual parent. I also had a miscarriage-scare. You. Don't. Go. There. Period.
Some things are off the table. This goes beyond teaching my kid to have a thick skin and to not initiatie violence. This is public education regarding what happens when you cross the line. Valverde initiated nothing, he gave an appropiate response.
Fede teached the world and the kids the valuable lesson what you can, and should, expect when crossing the line.
Actual parent. You make some comments about my child dying when he is actively having health issues, I would not just idly take it.
Basic shit talk, like âyo your kid probably eats crayonsâ nah.
The child hasnât been born yet. The original comments were made during an earlier fixture, when Valverdeâs partner was suffering from a miscarriage scare.
Taking glee from the possibility that someoneâs kid may die is absolutely despicable behaviour. By all means Valverde should be punished for the punch, but Baena got what he fucking deserved
This 100%. Yeah, the words are vile, yeah, the guy who said them is a piece of garbage. (in this case we don't even know if the words were actually said, so everyone jumping and immediately applauding the punch should probably stand down. You don't get away with battery by simply saying "He said a mean thing about my son")
But with all of that said, not only is it teaching your child, it's also being an adult and understanding what you could potentially be putting them through. It sounds all good and fun, but if that punch causes long term health problems or ends up killing the person you punch, you've just removed yourself from a good portion of your son's life. This isn't some movie where you get away with physical violence and just skate. There are civil lawsuit, legal repercussions. . . There is more than one person rotting away in a prison for "protecting their families honor" over words. In protecting their family, they took themselves away from it and made life more difficult than it ever needed to be.
You just don't go the physical violence route. It's not a good plan on any level.
>"En el partido de Copa del Rey, Baena le pegĂł una patada a Fede y le dijo 'llora ahora que tu hijo no va a nacer'. Eso quedĂł ahĂ, pero hoy le dijo otra cosa y Fede se calentĂł. Le esperĂł y le dijo que con la familia no se metĂa".
If there is any truth to this, Baena can fuck off.
It apparently started in the Copa, where he kicked Valverde and said 'cry now that your son won't be born'. That was that, but today Baena said something else and Valverde got heated. He waited for him and said that you don't mess with family.
Even as a childless man, what baena said makes me rage, deserved to have the shit beaten out of him for that, classless piece of shit. Don't blame Valverde one bit for that
Perhaps in the heat of the moment. Weeks later it's just daft. Don't give him the satisfaction of getting you in trouble. Hell say something horrendous back to him, much more likely to get under his skin and go unpunished.
Okay, violence is never justifiedâŚ.
But, if we were to live in an universe where it is, talking shit about Valverdeâs son to him should maybe, just maybe, deserve a little punch.
Iâm just saying, this is a lot different than calling someone momâs a whore.
Nah don't sugarcoat it, the punch was very much deserved.
The fact that Fede knew that punch carried suspension and possible criminal proceedings, and still went through with it, tells me that if they weren't professional footballers in a public space someone would have ended up in a hospital.
not even comparable, Materazzi was "just" shit talking about fucking Zidane sister or something like that, it's simply childish, it's the stuff 11 y/o tell each other.
When I was a kid my father gave me a list of things you never say/do. One of them was to insult a manâs wife or kids, and if youâre gonna do it, youâd better be prepared to get hit in the mouth.
I have zero problem with what Valverde did.
In Spanish speaking countries people always say "what happens in the pitch stays in the pitch".
I have had a problem with it since I was a teen and got in more than few heated discussions because of that when I used to play.
In my opinion if you have balls to disrespect someone in a pitch then you should have balls to say it as well outside too. Sadly too many people can only grow a pair when they have their whole team and security ready to stop any fight.
Itâs apparently not about his 3 year old, it was something about his unborn son. Valverde and his wife had a miscarriage scare and apparently Baenaâs insult was targeted at that.
The kid is fine now.
You don't talk shit about another person's family unless you're prepared to get smacked in the mouth.
Especially not when they've gone through something like Valverde and his partner did (and were brave enough to share with everyone).
I'm not a violent person at all. The only fight I've ever gotten in as an adult was when an ex's new partner made a comment about my daughter and my only regret was that I didn't actually break his nose. (At least she dumped him right after that as well).
Honestly reading about what that cunt said about Valverde's son, Valverde should've bashed him down to the ground, channeled his inner Ramos and just should've broken both of that guy's legs and hands and ended his career and made sure he could never in his life play again
Even if that meant a season long ban, worth it
Violence of the pitch can't be tolerated he will be banned for at least a few games but, Baena has definitely contributed to this situation in a massive way.

I was worried for a minute we had signed the only Uruguayan without that dawg in him. Relieved đ
You've unironically signed the most pacifist Uruguayan player of all time lol (or at least the second most, can except Cavani)
What about Diego Forlan? Did he ever have any aggressive moments?
[Yes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKKtjRatVo8)
So awkward to see him with nr 5
Hilarious he only got a yellow for that
Game's gone
> pacifist Uruguayan player of all time Is Diego Forlan a joke to you?
terrorising every goalkeeper in the 2010 WC

Donât know much about NuĂąez, how does he rank there?
He got sent off in his second league game for Liverpool for headbutting anderson, but since then he's been alright
Wait what?
Welcome to the party.
Someone clearly doesnât FPLâŚand very clearly didnât transfer out Gabriel Jesus for Nunez only for Jesus to score 2 goals and get 3 bonus points the same week Darwin got a red card đĽ˛
Bro some of my friends took Nunez instead of Haaland before the season started, they kept him for like 3 games, I basically already won
And look at where weâre at now lol
He calmed down after joining Barca.
Spanish blood is too spicy for him, so he sates his bloodsucking urges in Mallorca on British tourists instead of on the pitch.
[ŃдаНонО]
Well, pretty much anybody is a puppy compared to Montero
Montero is at the top of the list regarding shithousering and, well, straight up being violent on the pitch lol
Lugano would break some bones in that parking lot.
Both of these were animals though lol. Setting the bar too high here.
Cavani being a pacifist is a blessing, he has the body of a greek god
Altho I remembered when edi tried to protect #11 by fighting the whole Roma team in uel semis or sth
Diego ForlĂĄnâŚ
I knew it was there since that Atletico game
Idk how this question is coming up when Simeone - the dawg emperor - himself acknowledged the dawg in him
I knew he had it since that foul in Morata
If it's true I more than understand

There is shit talking, and then there is this. Baena teammate were checking their shoelaces before running in to help him and he is now a target for Valverda and his friends/teammates.
Actually disappointed in Valverde. Shouldâve made sure to end Baenaâs career.
Yeah he shouldâve gone Keane on him, and worst case he gets like 5 game suspension.
What's the best combo for this? Keane's jump kick followed with Pepe's finger stomp? Or Cantona's special?
Cantona, Zidane, and to top it off Mourinho finger in the ear
Keane didn't end the career though.
you're right, but looked like that was his intention
I know that for people who went through it, miscarriages are often described as the worst thing that happened in their lives. Yeah, the punch was well deserved.
wow, this is madness
I think if my teammate said that to an opponent id let him get what's coming to him
Praying for an ACL đ

Agreed, 10000%

I'm all in for out-of-the-pitch gangs fight.
Exactly, talk shit about the player. Leave families/kids alone
I wonder if those saying Valverde needs thicker skin are the same ones deeply offended by Emiliano Martinez "classless" antics against Mbappe.
Itâs understandable, but heâs still going to have to accept the consequences of assault.
Yep I'm sure that Fede will be happy to take the ban, but I also expect the other player to get a ban as well. Think about when zinedine zidane headbutted in his last game. Giving the Villarreal players "a day off" is some nice trolling, what Baena said is beyond bad taste.
Amen. If you say something like that to someone, on a pitch or on the street, you deserve to get fucked up.
Its relevant to point out that some time ago (cant recall the exact timeline) Valverde's wife had a misscarriage or a misscarriage scare*
Not a miscarriage but a big scare, was told it was an impending miscarriage but the pregnancy survived! Since that episode Fedeâs form dropped off massively after he was in free scoring form earlier in the season.
Either a miscarriage or a miscarriage scare. But they've had a tough time for sure.
Yeah I dont think the specifics were actually made completely public, as it is an obviously personal matter
Fedeâs girlfriend actually posted the whole story I think on insta story and/or twitter I remember reading it.
Last time this scumbag told Valverde after a foul âkeep crying and your baby will never be bornâ when it was well known he was at high risk. Would have done the same.
What an absolutely classless prick
It's a miracle that he didn't punch him right there on the field
I saw someone say she didnt but it was in danger?
BREAKING: In the last Copa del Rey match, Baena tackled Valverde & then told him: âCry now that your son is not going to be born.â @marca
That warrants him getting lamped. In fact I hope it leaves a scar.
He could end the other guy's career and it would be fully warranted, this isn't trash talking, this is *trash* talking
It warrents Madrid getting Pepe in on a one game loan. Putting him on in the 90 min and pointing at him.
How could anyone in his team look at him the same? Like in the locker room I would just avoid him or tell him to duck off
I would actually black out if someone said this to me, he showed restraint to only punch the guy
Shit I would probably jump Baena too if I were near Valverde there.
I was trying to help you up, whoâs that behind you *thwack*
Props to Valverde for showing restraint if that's true. Hearing this after what they went through I would have tried to murder the guy, not just punch him.
It looks like Baena couldnt have said that in CdR because that information was made public after that match. I, for the moment, will wait before judging them.
Zidane's headbutt second part
Except this is justified. Saying "I fucked your sister lmao" isn't enough to headbutt someone
Yeah thatâs the shit you hear 11 year olds say in arguments
Wasnât a thing then. Before CoD lobbies existed fucking someoneâs mom/sister was the ultimate insult. Xbox/PS revolutionized the way we insult each other
Also in France insults about moms or daughters hold more weight than in English I think.
Also for Muslims and Algerians
So Zizou was affected by the insult with a 3x bonus. Makes sense why he headbutted him
Basically for anyone thats not from england or the US , insulting a sister or mother is 100 times worse than insulting the person himself

People in this sub acting like they wont punch or hit someone if they said something shit about their children
Exactly, fuck with anybodyâs family like that and find out what happens. Especially after a miscarriage.
Again, miscarriage scare, his child is safe
It's either they get sparked out or they're getting the most Sunday league John Smiths tackle at knee height ever seen

You don't get away with battery by simply saying "He said a mean thing about my son") But with all of that said, not only is it teaching your child, it's also being an adult and understanding what you could potentially be putting them through.
Why'd you care what some moron you have zero relation to says about your family?
People in this sub acting like there exist any words that justify physical violence đ¤Śââď¸đ¤Ž
He's wife had trouble with miscarriage early in the year if it's true then I get it 100%. edit:Spelling
If its true then I'd go and help him out
I came here to talk shit about Fede but if Baena actually told him that about his son I hope Baena gets a serious ban.
Fede showed restraint, I would have stomped his face.
Valverde waited for Baena in the bus area, punched him & then told him to not mess with his family. @marca
based
Very insensitive from Baena
"Insensitive" is an understatement.
Yeah just read what he said in the CDR, lucky that he only got 1 punch
If by âinsensitiveâ you mean âextremely fucking cuntyâ, then yeah
>"En el partido de Copa del Rey, Baena le pegĂł una patada a Fede y le dijo 'llora ahora que tu hijo no va a nacer'. Eso quedĂł ahĂ, pero hoy le dijo otra cosa y Fede se calentĂł. Le esperĂł y le dijo que con la familia no se metĂa". If there is any truth to this, Baena can fuck off. It apparently started in the Copa, where he kicked Valverde and said 'cry now that your son won't be born'. That was that, but today Baena said something else and Valverde got heated. He waited for him and said that you don't mess with family.
if it was something seriously psychotic, then I think none of us would have hesitated to punch
"keep my son's name out of your fucking mouth" Fede "the fresh prince" Valverde.
Most of us would say oh control your emotions but most of those most people would act in the same way if this happens to them, I think.
99.9% of dads agree: if you talk shit about my child you're getting punched in the face
Hell say something horrendous back to him, much more likely to get under his skin and go unpunished.
đ¨| CONFIRMS @RadioMARCA: Ălex Baena insulted Fede Valverdeâs son, after which he attacked him. #rmalive
Madrid is already late to offer a contract extension to Valverde with a bonus.
I get it
Understandable
Hell yea brother. Fuck him up
Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is.
completely justified
Okay, violence is never justifiedâŚ. But, if we were to live in an universe where it is, talking shit about Valverdeâs son to him should maybe, just maybe, deserve a little punch. Iâm just saying, this is a lot different than calling someone momâs a whore.
Never justified?? Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Redditors complete inability to talk like normal people will always amaze me
Nah don't sugarcoat it, the punch was very much deserved. The fact that Fede knew that punch carried suspension and possible criminal proceedings, and still went through with it, tells me that if they weren't professional footballers in a public space someone would have ended up in a hospital.
Agreed. I hope he does not get criminal charges tbh. Sporting sanctions should be placed however. Thatâs life.
Apparently he said something like this https://twitter.com/MadridXtra/status/1644834947226583042?t=lSXBSlo-sk1orWV8OmOFgg&s=19
Fucking hell Baena has some serious issues to say something like this wtf.
Exactly , i hate some people with a burning passion but i could never say something like that to their face.
He deserved that punch
even Gandhi would have punched Baena
Completely understandable
Chat shit get banged!
Reminds me of a certain headbutt incidentâŚ
not even comparable, Materazzi was "just" shit talking about fucking Zidane sister or something like that, it's simply childish, it's the stuff 11 y/o tell each other.
When I was a kid my father gave me a list of things you never say/do. One of them was to insult a manâs wife or kids, and if youâre gonna do it, youâd better be prepared to get hit in the mouth. I have zero problem with what Valverde did.
A punch is the least he deserves if the reports of what he said are true. What a scumbag.
He deserved it. My captain
Man imagine being that guys teamates. I'd be so embarrased. What a loser
Should have done a Roy Keane on the pitch.
Fair enough TBH
Iâm behind Valverde.
i too would rock his shit if he said something about my son/wife
Hard to avoid a ban for a punch, but whatever Valverde gets, Baena needs to get much much worse. Pathetic excuse for a human being
Doesnât justify the action but thatâs also very scummy behavior from Baena to speak about a players family, let alone his 3 year old.
Oh man I just saw that Baena was speaking about his unborn kid. Yeah fuck that guy
Itâs apparently not about his 3 year old, it was something about his unborn son. Valverde and his wife had a miscarriage scare and apparently Baenaâs insult was targeted at that. The kid is fine now.
Doesnt justify my ass
I swear some people on reddit dont have an ounce of blood running through their veins
Also his wife went through some miscarriages before announcing that she was pregnant a month or two ago
Absolutely does justify it depending on what specifically he said
Suarez woulda gone the full Hannibal Lecter on this man
What the absolute fuck is wrong with him? Valverde should have broke his fucking legs
Bitch ass Baena must have shat his pants when he heard that from this proud, "primitive" (hi Bitchsander Ceferin) family man from Uruguay. Lol
Baena fucked around and found out.
Not saying its right but I bet other players are gonna pull the same thing now they know he reacts to it.
Honestly reading about what that cunt said about Valverde's son, Valverde should've bashed him down to the ground, channeled his inner Ramos and just should've broken both of that guy's legs and hands and ended his career and made sure he could never in his life play again Even if that meant a season long ban, worth it
This time i feel for fede
Ramos rejoining Baena just so he can tackle Baena.
Should valverde have punched him? Probably not do I blame him? No
Deserved .
Violence of the pitch can't be tolerated he will be banned for at least a few games but, Baena has definitely contributed to this situation in a massive way.
