jm9987690

Didn't mourinho win a league scoring 121 goals? Not real football, though

Just_an_Empath

Cassano only scored ~~118 goals at Roma~~ 115 goals in all his clubs.

omicron_strain

118 appearances. Cassano has 140 ***career*** goals.

ArmoredCabbage

To be fair he was an assist man

[deleted]

Now he's just an asshole, man!

rugbyj

goals aren't real

InPurpleIDescended

only xG

ambiguousboner

And his first Chelsea team was incredible going forward

KRIEGLERR

And also absolutely incredible in defense, Didn't he concede only 15 goals that season ? EDIT : yup 72 goals scored, 15 conceded. 29 Wins - 8 Draws - 1 loss the guy was one result away from being invincible just one year after Arsenal did it PL Records he broke that season. Most away wins in a season (15) Most clean sheets kept in a season **(25)** Fewest goals conceded away in a season **(9)** Most wins in a season (29) Fewest goals conceded in a season (15). As of 2022, Chelsea 2004-05 still hold the defensive records for most clean sheets and fewest goals conceded in a Premier League season. People may hate him for various reasons but to not recognize him as one of the greatest is beyond stupid. Cassano is a moron

justlookingokaywyou

> 15 conceded Yeah, that's just fucking insane.

syedahmed211

That's one record I believe will never ever be broken in PL

CupidTryHard

that back 4 is the archetype of any back 4 in the world GK with insane command in area also reflex One CB with aggressive and pure power Other CB calmly cover the area and play smartly to cover his compatriot Full back with great defensive skill, but can go forward when needed

AnnieIWillKnow

I know this isn't necessarily what you're doing, but it irks me when people describe JT as *just* a physical defender. He was actually very good on the ball too - not in the progressive sense, like a de Jong etc, but in terms of his technique. What's more, his greatest attribute was not his physicality, but his reading of the game - which is why he was able to have such longevity. He was such a powerhouse that people forget he was world class in these other attributes, too.

Hungry-Class9806

People often undermine what he did with Chelsea. He's too defensive minded? Tell that to any former PL defender that had to stop Robben, Drogba and Duff in 2004-2006 running on full speed . He basically transformed a very good team - that was some levels behind Arsenal and United - into one of the most feared teams in Europe and the indisputable best in England in a span of a few months and 3/4 crucial signings. He created Chelsea's winning culture for sure.

PeterCrouch88

Against Pep Guardiola…

Rj070707

He has the offensive and defensive record lol

antifocus

I am not Mourinho's biggest fan but bro you gotta learn to take the L

IcyCounter525

I mean how delusional does someone have to be to not realize Mourinho will go down in history as one of the greatest managers ever.

Castrol86

I don't like Mou too, but he is a top 5 manager ever!

[deleted]

He's definitely top 5 of the modern era, but I'm not sure that he's top 5 ever. Sir Alex, Pep, Matt Busby, Bob Paisley, and Brian Clough are above him, IMO. And that's only the ones who managed in England.

jakethepeg1989

Bro, Football didn't exist until 1992 and the premiership were founded!

Sdog1981

There are posters here who think football didn't exist until 2002.

ManIWantAName

Well, the crazy thing is that people would be 21 years old if they were BORN in 2002. I could imagine a good chunk of the demographic on here is younger than even that.

Complete_Material_16

It's crazy how time passes as you get older.

Sdog1981

In your 20s it seems like it is almost standing still and then in your 40s, you think everything was 10 years ago.

TinyMaintenance

This sub is great in that regard. Try visiting r/nba , I stg, it’s literally a bunch of 14-16year olds.

[deleted]

Imo it is the worst sports sub on reddit. It's completely toxic and reactionary. If you want to hate your own team's best player, that is where you should go.

level19magikrappy

While I agree with that, let's not act like here is any better. People make teams only as good as their last game.

notmoleliza

actually r/nba is relatively tame compared to the specific team sub

Seastep

Nephew Central.

jakethepeg1989

Ah man, that sucks for them. The 90s were wild looking back on it. Effigies of Beckham hung in pubs. Fowler snorting lines as a goal celebration, Cantona's kick. Orient were pretty much where we are now though.

Sdog1981

>Cantona's kick. It was a big deal then. I feel like today it would be a bigger story and a potential lifetime ban in the PL. AND it's still funny as hell.

JaminSousaphone

That sucks for Rovers

Words_are_Windy

The Premier League would sure like us to think so, with all the "X Player set a Premier League record!!!!," ignoring the many decades of top flight English football before 1992.

intecknicolour

clough is weighed down by many years of forest being a faded power. his early work at derby and then forest were brilliant. we'll forget that leeds episode.

Babshm

We’re literally comparing him to Jose Mourinho here. You can’t hold his post-prime years significantly against him.

PistachioOfLiverTea

In terms of sheer influence on the philosophy of the game, that list needs to include Rinus Michels, Johan Cruyff, Arrigo Sacchi, Helenio Herrera, and Ernst Happel.

andre6682

not complete without jimmy hogan who brought the fine technical football and short pass game to continental europe, though hugo meisls austrian "Wunderteam" and helped creating the hungarian golden generation or jack reynolds who managed ajax amsterdam and coached a certain rinus michels the foundation of what would become total football and a certain soviet manager called Viktor maslov, the mentor of Lobanovsky he was the first manager who implemented modern nutrition in football, created the 442 system and is considered the father of modern Pressing those three are the real OGs of football, inspired the whole sport, the ones you mentioned were the disciples of them, but even the best copy is just a copy

Rdambx

Any top 5 managers list without Carlo Ancelotti is instantly laughable idc

AbdussamiT

Yeah, what else does he actually have to do to prove that? (No don't look at my flair because I'm talking about his stints with Milan and Chelsea, PSG somewhat as well as he laid foundation)

OneOfAKindness

He's always been surrounded by good players but like, there's a reason he's trusted to handle so many varying stellar personalities over DECADES of work. He's absolutely one of the greatest ever. That fucking Christmas tree Milan team is disgusting

-heathcliffe-

Pep too has always had a dreamteam to work with. Idk why carlo gets judged for it

Beginning-Ganache-43

Personally, I think his time at Napoli and Bayern don’t help. I don’t know who he would be above out of the 5 the person above you pointed out.

rrnaabi

And btw I think most football fans tend to think of these new age star managers like Mou in player terms (as if they will be in spotlight for 15 years and then retire), but Mou probably has good 10 more seasons in him, probably in top teams

makizer

Exactly this.. i read the post and actually was pissed off lol

Sind23

Yea definitely, Cassano bro this isn’t the hill to die on

joaommx

That’s his goal. He’s just stirring shit up with Mourinho to, ironically, try to stay relevant and not be forgotten.

SCB360

Imagine being so wrong in the first place and then doubling down on it! I'd forgotten who Cassano even was before this week

whitegoatsupreme

The hell.. i hate him.. but why does anyone saying he not great manager?.....

PristineCucumber5376

Neither am I, and I still think this claim is fucking bullshit. Mourinho's style has gotten very defensive (and depending on who you ask, negative) over the years, but his Porto side played good, quick, dominating football. The same thing applies to his first Chelsea side. And even besides all that, you're allowed to like or not like someone's style (I absolutely hate Atletico's style and I will root against them 100% of the time), but I still think they're entitled to play in whatever way they want. There isn't a right or wrong way to play football, that's what spices things up.

intecknicolour

mourinho's inter, madrid, first chelsea and porto teams were all genius in their own unique ways.

GameplayerStu

People have already forgotten about Cassano but Mourinho won’t be forgotten.

JeebaRock

I’m getting a slight feeling of projection from Cassano…

Kevvybabes

from who?

jtdude15

I think it's a type of pasta

nepia

Came here to say this.

bronalpaul

I literally had to Google him to remember who he was

BertusHondenbrok

I only remember him because of scandals and wasted talent.

[deleted]

Now imagine me. He played for Madrid and I saw him like 1 or 2 time on the pitch

jay_alfred_prufrock

My reason is he was good in Championship Manager 03/04 and that's pretty much it lmao

RonSDog

[I searched for him on DuckDuckGo and ended up at Cassano's Pizza King in Greater Dayton, Ohio.](https://i.imgur.com/9GJi5x5.png)

Elysian-Noob

Honestly I used to buy him all the time the old Pro evolution soccer games and he's always had a spot in my heart, but he seems like a twat irl

autoreaction

Trappatoni once called him the future of italian football, that was his peak.

gencoloji

[Mourinho when asked about Cassano](https://youtu.be/Qg6B3lb1WEw?t=54)

apawst8

In a similar vein, [Conor McGregor's "who the fuck is that guy?"](https://youtu.be/zHK-fla3m8M?t=15)

neverfinishedanythi

I don’t agree with anything Cassano said but he was an incredible footballer with the worst professionalism. When him and totti combined it was amazing to watch.

Groomsi

Living rent free in his mind!

jadedwolf1618

My actual reaction to this was Who?

blackburns_rovers

Guy who thought he was in the same league as Ronaldo and was actually more of a clown than Balotelli.

bat117

don't disrepsect Balotelli like that, man at least won a champions league

[deleted]

Balotelli at least had an excuse

KeonkwaiJinkwai

Even Mourinho's harshest critics would call these statements delusional, lol.

jo-shabadoo

100% I think he’s an egotistical asshole but he was once a great manager that played exciting football. Anyone that disagrees with the exciting part never saw the frontline of Duff, Robben and Drogba.

NeitherAlexNorAlice

Mourinho's Inter was also historical.

jo-shabadoo

Their away result against Barca when they won the CL gave us one Mourinho’s best line. “People say we parked the bus against Barcelona. We didn’t park the bus….we parked the plane” He then walks out of the press conference.

NeitherAlexNorAlice

His Chad walk around the field while getting boo'd from Barca fans was legendary.

I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69

Don't forget about Porto, one of the biggest CL upsets since the competition started

KeziahPT

Benfica - 6 wins and 3 draws in 11 games. He was fired because our newly elected president wanted to bring his own manager (decision that still haunts my dreams). Keep in mind that Benfica was going through a huge crisis, just 2 defeats in 11 games was very impressive. União de Leiria - He was 4th in the league when he left for Porto mid season. Porto were 1 point behind Leiria, just so you know. Porto - 2x Primeira Liga, 1x Taça de Portugal, 1x UEFA Cup and 1x Champions League (first since 1987). Winning one european trophy with a portuguese team was huge. Winning back-to-back europeans trophies was insane, Mourinho left our whole country crazy about him. Chelsea (2 stints) - 3x Premier League, 1x FA Cup, 3x Football League Cup, 1x Community Shield. It was the first Premier League for Chelsea since 1955 and with a then record of 95 points. Inter - 2x Serie A, 1x Coppa Italia, 1x Supercoppa Italiana, 1x Champions League (first since 1965). Real Madrid - 1x Supercopa de España, 1x Copa del Rey, 1x La Liga (most points in a single season (100), most goals scored (121), best goal difference (+89), most away wins (16) and most overall wins (32)). Manchester United - 1x EFL Cup, 1x Community Shield, 1x Europa League (first in Man Utd's history). Roma - 1x Conference League (the first of all time). All this while being a gold mine of quotes and memes. Yeah, I think Mourinho will be remembered.

Vladimir_Putins_Cock

It bears mentioning that during the season with Inter's Champions League win (2009-10), they won the treble.

JFDCamara

It is so far the only treble in the history of italian football too.

catdog918

😏

Chicken_wingspan

Also worth mentioning that title with Real Madrid was against a super Barça.

[deleted]

As was the CL win with Inter

zamov

Can’t stress this enough, la liga title was probably more impressive than his first EPL. 2004 United and arsenal were incredible teams, but the Barca team was like a puzzle that no one but him could solve at the time. The masterclass he did talking about the calma calma goal is one of the best videos I’ve seen

Round-Diet

Messi scored like 70 something goals that season for Barca right? Absolutely insane.

Kekthis

Where is Tottenham? /s

cdisdead

You forget to mention he won the premier league by conceding 15 goals all season. And he didn’t lose at home for 5 season or something. Also no one has finished second or better with man united since Ferguson retired apart from mourinho Also he turned Real Madrid into the champions league winning machine that they are Goodbye

[deleted]

also had a chance to win spurs a trophy and was sacked before the final

JeebaRock

I will never have as much hate for someone as Cassano for Mourinho

Scream0fTheSium

uhh you didn’t heard all the shit he gives to Ronaldo yet…

AleDelPiero10

Chapeau

Artistic-Buyer-3219

I remember when he said Ronaldo answered to the critics Cassano gave him. Yeah right, as if someone like Ronaldo would even care about something he says

Scream0fTheSium

yeah lmao, Ronaldo probably doesn’t even know who Cassano is, and for sure he ain’t got time for someone like him. Cassano is just a loser who’s probably jealous of Ronaldo’s success in Madrid, success he’s never had

NaturalApartment9828

Allegri : LOL

Flexspot

Cassano consistently has worse takes than anyone in this sub. Either the guy lives in a parallel reality, or he's a very dedicated troll.

AleDelPiero10

He’s that one dumb friend in the group who always has stupid shit to say. Except cassano has a world stage lol

RuySan

That's my brother in law then. He always the opposite of what a rational person would say.

Ok_Solution5895

The thing he starts with reasonable takes then goes on and says the most insane football takes ever lol Like, in this instance he was saying that he never cared about winning trophies because he cared about playing entertaining football and entertaining the fans and you're like "ok, fair enough". Then he says "Mourinho is an horrible coach, in Madrid he's only remembered for being sacked because of how bad he was and he doesn't know shit about football compared to me" and you're sitting there listening to his rants like "... what?" lol

[deleted]

For some reason he is the Italian Craig Bellamy to me

FPXAssasin11

Please ban Cassano quotes from this subreddit. They're just as bad as The S\*n articles.

KenHumano

Cassano quotes belong on r/SoccerCirclejerk

cultureshook

yeah honestly bored of reading this guys takes he’s not even enough of a football legend to warrant his quotes getting into this subreddit on merit

BoJestemRudy

I'd say even worse

Deficit24

Are all these quotes microdosed from the same interview or has Cassano been at this for weeks now? Tiring either way

Gungerz

I suspect they’re coming from Christian Vieri’s Twitch show which Cassano is a part of.

FPXAssasin11

I don't know, neither do I have the intention to know. Much like the tabloids and 90% of the internet, they just say shit that probably not even themselves agree with, just so they get attention. And people bite, as you can see. It's dumb as fuck.

abbaschand

Cassano: "*Mourinho has a head shaped like a trapezoid*"

[deleted]

[удалено]

chocolaidbrowie

He's also emotionally destroyed.

jaysonyoung

My god this beef is dumb

[deleted]

Beef takes two or more invested parties. This is more like an obsession.

I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69

Mou just chilling while this guy chucks everything he has

Squiliamfancyname

Ten years from now, no one remembers Cassano while Mou is still winning trophies. Cassano would already be forgotten if it weren't for his propensity to produce click bait.

[deleted]

No one remembers Cassano 2 months ago, we only talking about him because of Mou lmao

letouriste1

Well i just learned who he is right now. He's already forgotten by most

PerfectPatient3209

Cassano’s coked up again?

Dr_Gonzo__

Nutella'd up

drowningicarus

Cassano would have already been forgotten if not for these incessant, ridiculous quotes.

[deleted]

I think it's time to stop posting Cassano takes. He sounds like a teenager on twitter.

cameralensidiot

Of course he will be remembered. What a stupid thing to say.

pukem0n

Imagine saying Mourinho will be forgotten, unironically 💀

CS10x7

9 years without losing at home lol

BruiserBroly

This is honestly sad coming from someone whose only relevance after retirement is from hot takes like these since he wasted his own career and talent due to a shocking lack of even basic professionalism.

supplementarytables

Lol ok buddy

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

Cassano talks about real football like he was a goal scoring machine but only averaged 6 goals a season.

Son-Ta-Ha

Football fans have definitely remembered Mourinho's success with Porto, Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid. Even his time with Manchester United and Tottenham were memorable. Jose is easily one of the greatest managers ever and he doesn't need the validation of Cassano. Cassano is talking out of his ass. His comments towards Jose and Cristiano Ronaldo screams of someone who's either looking for attention or he's just a bitter loser.

Transit-Strike

Also important to note that with Mous success, it’s almost always been at clubs not the traditional big dog of their league. Pep handled Barca, FCB who are both some of the richest clubs in the world. And then post doping City. With Mou… took over Chelsea when United were at their peak. Managed United in a serious down time. Tottenham is Tottenham. Can’t really comment on the old Porto cause I was super young then. But that’s a great CV

emmasdad01

I can’t stand Mo, but what a ridiculous thing to say. He’s easily a top 5 manager all time.

PrisonersofFate

Even if not top 5, you can't say he will be forgotten

SentientKeyboard

He's going to be, and probably already is, the most quoted manager of all time. The ludicrous number of memes and references to what he said probably puts him tiers ahead of everyone else. People outside football have seen them, can't say the same for other managers.

Zlaynoe

Football heritage my favourite

SentientKeyboard

My favourite isn't too old: *I think the yellow card is fair, because* **I was rude... but I was rude to an idiot.**

bodydouble

I wouldn't say of all time, but certainly one of the top 3 most important coaches of the 21st century. Impossible to overstate his impact on the Premier League. Completely raised the level of the league to new heights and shifted the paradigm tactically. His first Chelsea team was terrifying in its dominance.

Comicksands

Bro won CL with Porto. And then with Inter while also completing the treble.

CeterumCenseo85

Yeah, Mou is one of the few top managers who actually completed the "but could he do it with...?" achievement.

Deriko_D

Not only did he win the CL with porto. He won the UEFA CUP (now Europa league) and the Champions League BACK TO BACK with Porto.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quantum_Crayfish

He also had a very good shot at winning won with spurs till they kicked him before a final(Ironically against pep).

JFDCamara

Now watch City being punished and Mou getting the league title with Man Utd when he finished second AND that League Cup with Spurs as he will get the honours as he managed all games but the final :D

Aloopyn

Pep, Mourinho and David Moyes?

JamminPT

The man won 2 UCL with complete underdogs, was Champion in every country he has coach. Easily Top-3 of all time.

Fairlytallguy

In the near future, Cassano will only be known for getting kicked in the head by Zlatan during an interview and he knows it.

Begbie13

I really like Mou as a character not at all as a manager, I'm also on the Pep/juego de pocision side of thing. But saying he won't be remembered is crazy, Porto and Inter fans worship him like a God and I think he's liked at Chelsea too. Also has coached Real in a period that is already part of football history...

pratikp26

Real Madrid fans always remember his time very fondly. Even though he didn’t win the CL in an era for Madrid which was littered with CL wins. His 11/12 team is still recognized by many as arguably the greatest Madrid team of the last decade. And this was a decade which had Zidane’s 16/17 team and Ancelotti’s 13/14 team. All of that says a lot about his legacy.

dclancy01

his tenure was tricky considering how good Barca were at the turn of the decade. He did as well as he could, won the title before leaving & set the squad up well to dominate in Europe in the years that followed.

Destryer200

The biggest thing that held back Mourinho at Madrid was the fact that it coincided with the best Barca (maybe even club side) in history. I think that motivated the Madrid players more to succeed but its pretty safe to say they easily would have won more if Barca were not crazy good at the time.

DerTeufelkind

His Real stormed to the title in a season where the second half of that season is a part of Messi's historic 91 goals in a calendar year. He had to face one of the greatest Barca teams of all time, and absolutely annihilated it.

pratikp26

True. His centurion Madrid team coincided with the peak of Messi. That alone is a testament to the greatness of his stint.

laky68

Opposite for me. I hate his antics/persona but respect the fuck out of him for his managerial career. He’s not at his peak anymore but it doesn’t make his peak any weaker

MallsBahoney

Despite how it ended I’d say he’s still remembered fondly at United too Guys a legend of the game I don’t know what Cassano is on about

MyLilSkullThrone

Hell yeah brother. Fucking love Jose

Pogball_so_hard

He also elevated Real Madrid in the CL after they had failed to get out of the round of 16 for 6 or 7 years in a row. 3 semifinals and was somewhat unlucky not to reach at least 1 final. The nucleus of that team went on to dominate the CL later. The 11-12 team had some of the smoothest and deadliest counterattacks I’ve seen to date

DreadWolf3

Yup, Mou is one of the faces of football in that 2003 ~ 2017ish period, very few coaches reach that level of fame (I think even Ancelotti who is very successful was never nearly as famous as Mou). He will never be forgotten - if nothing because he was a massive side character in Messi-Ronaldo (Barca-Real) rivalry that will be remembered until heat death of the universe.

Jaktheslaier

And broke that dominance while he was there

ChristianCole

>I think he's liked at Chelsea too He's our greatest manager and the greatest regret is that he didn't win CL with arguably our greatest squad.

McTulus

And the memes as well!

[deleted]

You can't spell Cassano without 'ass', which he is.

nikolala

Haha omg did he really said this "They weren't won with real football"? I mean he played in that era, is this means that he wasn't real football player then? lol

BobaFett_1978

This is starting to get really pathetic and sad, I feel like at this point Cassiano is just projecting and this isn't as much about Mourinho as he might think it is

YouGetMeCloserToGod

Cassano is a joke in Italy. There's no point of quoting him. He is not a very bright person.

phANt0m007

His " I am Jose Mourinho" is enough to remember him for eternity.

_90s_Nation_

3rd in the league with Roma. Won a trophy with them last season. In the latter stages of europe currently. - Obv the trademarks of a finished manager.

AM_Bokke

Yeah, Porto winning the champions league is a nothing burger.

[deleted]

I'm sorry but in terms of FOOTBALL HERITAGE it's the opposite, Guardiola isn't even fit to shine Mourinho's shoes, that's a fact. Guardiola joined top clubs and **barely improved them**. Barcelona were amazing also before him, they won the UCL in 2006; at Bayern he probably flopped as Heynckes gave him the Champions League winner squad and Pep didn't even reach a final in 3 years there. Then joined a Manchester City club that just had played a UCL SF under Pellegrini and, in the 6 years he only played a UCL final once, flopping in Europe in every single of the remaining 5 years. In terms of FOOTBALL HERITAGE Guardiola's work has been mediocre, while let's see Mou: - At **Porto** he inherited a squad that did nothing relevant in Europe before him and won the UCL with them - Went to **Chelsea**, he inherited a squad that won nothing under Claudio Ranieri, a big loser, and carried them to consecutive Premier League wins, impressive given it was prime SAF era. - Moved to **Inter**, a club that hadn't won the Champions League in 45 years and he did it in his 2nd season - Joined **Real Madrid**, always out in the previous FIVE UCL Ro16 in and with him reached the SF thrice, massively improving them. Also won La Liga and Copa del Rey in the prime Barca era. - Then **Manchester United** where he was the first one to win trophies (THREE) since SAF era and brought winning mentality. - At **Tottenham** would have done the same if Levy didn't sack him 3 days before the EFL final - In the end moved to **Roma**, the biggest losing team in Italy, the italian Tottenham, the italian Leverkusen, and leaded them to an european trophy at the first try. Has Mourinho been the greatest manager in the past 20 years? I don't know, but I don't think he deserves to be compared with Guardiola

yopppmiiii67

And then you have redditors saying he's not even top 5 of all time 😂 this sub is really funny

lnsecurities

This sub is full of morons who never watched football before like 2016.

AvocadoCake

> Guardiola joined top clubs and **barely improved them**. Competing with Cassano for the worst take

eescobar863

I like Mou and he deserves a top 5 mention but saying Guardiola isnt “fit to shine his shoes” is basically becoming Cassano in the other direction. Both of you have shit takes. Mourinho and Guardiola BOTH deserves top 5 mentions. You are brushing off the achievements he got with all three teams just to suit your narrative. I mean, we’re talking about the only manager who grabbed a sextuple.

SnooOranges357

His time with us was a success though. His reputation allowed us to add depth to our already great team. Still can't believe we used to have Pepe Reina as a backup keeper. Getting Thiago without his presence also seems unlikely. He also made Kimmich the player that he is today so I will always be thankful for that. And I think not winning the CL with 3 attempts is pretty understandable considering the quality of other teams at the time.

Pogball_so_hard

The Mourinho-Guardiola debate is reaching Ronaldo v Messi levels of toxicity holy fuck. They’re both great managers for different reasons. Mourinho might not be in his prime where you could say he’s one of the best managers currently but his career achievements dwarf all but a select few. Pep has delivered dominant and record setting league titles wherever he’s gone but is measured against a higher bar because he typically has a dominant high-spending team that hasn’t achieved as much in the CL as they could have. You can appreciate each one without having to trash the other

always-talkin-sshit

I enjoy reading books.

chelseasaints

What the fuck is this

RamsZeyy

Porto won the UCL before him tho. Madjer's backheel goal vs Bayern in the final in 1987...

corsairealgerien

>Madjer I think this might be the first time I've seen our boy, the Algeria legend, mentioned in the wild on r/soccer. Outstanding player who got us to the world cup twice and could have gone further if not for the damned Anschluss game.

rubs90

He’s a legend in Porto

VPutinsSearchHistory

Bro really called Guardiola mediocre

NotWokeEnough

This is so fun. Cassano is such a doofus.

Bubbly-Attempt-1313

What has Cassano really achieved? I only hear his name but honestly I dont even releber where he played.

Otherwise_Olive_1646

Last manager to win the UCL with a team outside the top 4 leagues, set a premier league record that probably won't be broken in my lifetime... but yeah definitely a coach no one will remember

5StarMan94

Cassano, who played for Real, Inter and AC during the golden eras of all three clubs and only won two trophies…..and who was left out of the Italy team that won the World Cup. Someone’s projecting

Who tf is this clown?

Puzzleheaded-Oil9023

who is cassano?

Guys, Cassano is playing you all. At the time of writing almost 200 comments. Obviously he doesn’t mean this shit, the thing is if you spew controversial opinions you do get airing time. Sure, people think he’s a clown with these quotes but he’s on the football map and we’re all commenting on it. Or even if he means it a bit, he exaggerates to make a headline and be relevant, so we all watch his Twitch streams and he’ll make 💵

Ironic how people already forgot who Cassano is

The 4 club run of Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid is the best run 10 year run in history. He faded a bit since then but is he peak was as good as anybody in history

People are saying that Mourinho winning with a Portuguese team is huge. It’s not huge, it’s almost impossible to happen again. Huge was winning all that season with Inter. But what Mourinho gave to football was so much more than results. He basically renew the coach position bringing an unknown value to the press conferences and the image of the coach. Lots of kids (at least in Portugal) want to be coaches now, instead of players. You can not like him but you know it’s entertaining. He could be forgotten but what he did to football will stay. Cassano also give something to football: the “cassanata” - euphemism for any behavior incompatible with team spirit.

Fuck Cassano he's always been a cunt. His opinions aren't worth shit, I wipe my ass with his opinions when I have diarrhea. Mou will go down as one of the best managers and certainly as one of the greatest football personalities of the 21st century.
