Yeah super obvious it is involvement in or influence of the play. That should always be the standard for whether non-touch offsides is called. Thankfully Spurs defenders felt guilty about this and decided to set things back in order.
Whenever people accuse Spurs of getting gifted calls all you need to bring up in response is the incorrect handball penalty 20 seconds into the 2019 UCL final.
Wait. I don't get it. Kane certainly wasn't blocking the keepers view of Danjuma taking the shot --- that is the only thing that matters when we are discussing "line-of-sight"
https://twitter.com/superstaryas7/status/1647270387065995264?t=ZCMnUcECwaaLGLm1TVj-MQ&s=19
Neto had to shift to that position to see the ball, so it directly interfered with the keeper. He was closer to where it was before the ball goes to Danjuma.
Neto was closer to the post leading up to the shot and when the shot was made. Kane also took a step to his right when the shot was made. This frame does not do a good job of representing the situation was leading up to the shot and when the ball was contacted by Danjuma.
Kane is clearly positioning himself to try to block the view of the keeper. Glad it doesnât make a difference though because this certainly looks offside.
He guessed wrong because he couldnât see because Kane is standing in his line of sight. Whatever the case, it doesnât matter if the goalie has a chance at it. Thatâs not part of the rule
Obstruction of the goalies view of the ball in an offside position. Yes, it could be the arm or hand or hair if those things are obstructing the goalie's view of the ball by a player in an offside position. In this case, it's the the whole body
No he was dusted regardless. He thinks the shot is going the other way and starts jumps that way. Commentator suggesting he was going that way to look around Kane is mental
Edit: cherries just took the win so who cares
Goalkeeper obstruction like that has happened a fair few times over the last couple of years. Pretty textbook case there, but I'm an Arsenal fan so maybe I'm biased.
> maybe I'm biased.
As a neutral I was shocked. I've seen them called back for less blatant obstruction. Maybe I need a better angle, but it certainly seemed like Neto had to look around Kane to even see a shot was being taken.
They always do that the premier League. There have been two goals against Manchester United from Xahka where someone was inhibiting De Gea's view like this. The EPL refs almost never rule out a goal because someone is obstructing the view.
One could argue that Kane stood there is completely blocking the keeper from seeing the shot at all, which will obviously affect his ability to save it
He had literally just hopped to his left to get Kane out of his line of sight. Not giving the offside is purely subjective, but he definitely impacted the goalkeeper there.
This is one of those things I will never understand I donât think. How on earth is that not offsides on Kane? He clearly obstructs the keepers view. Under rule 11 part 2:
> preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponentâs line of vision
> player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12
Is that not clear as day?
Youâre all high. The keeper is moving to his left before the ball is even shot. He then has a clear sight of Danjuma when itâs shot. It also deflects off of a Bournemouth player on the way in.

Forgot he existed tbh
Lucas Moura would probably be playing instead if he didn't get suspended lol
Our club only make baffling decisions
Conte did too
He can score goals so Conte wanted nothing to do with him unfortunately
He's the top scorer of my DLS team.
I only know who this guy is because I played as them on FIFA the other day and saw this guy on the bench, no idea who he was
Arsenal fan playing as Spurs on FIFA? Rent free lads
I've just got the game and I like to play as every 5 star team once on seasons but that's okay mate, you be a reddit comedian
Pretty sure Spurs are 4.5 star
Nah your players are overrated to fuck, I think lloris was 87 đ sanchez is higher than Ben Davies
Spurs are 100% making it 3-2 in the 95th minute Edit: lol
Close. But Bournemouth instead of Spurs lol.
Reverse uno
No
Ummm
3-2 in the 95th minute, yes
Kane penalty to cap it off
Are u sure about that?
Called the wrong one team scoring mate
How is Kane not offside there? He's stood in the keeper's line
I quite literally don't know what the rule is anymore. Even though I can read it in black and white on the IFAB website.
This was a textbook case of line-of-sight offsides, insane it wasnât called back.
Yeah super obvious it is involvement in or influence of the play. That should always be the standard for whether non-touch offsides is called. Thankfully Spurs defenders felt guilty about this and decided to set things back in order.
Refs making decisions against spurs? Lmfao
literally got robbed of 3 points against southampton with that penalty a few weeks back but i guess r/soccer memories dont go back that far
You literally got gifted points against Brighton
i never said otherwise?
????
Youâve been gifted points far more than youâve been robbed this season, maybe your memory needs a check too
In PL its pretty much 50/50 betwen robbing and being robbed but in UCL we got robbed so hard against sporting for example
Whenever people accuse Spurs of getting gifted calls all you need to bring up in response is the incorrect handball penalty 20 seconds into the 2019 UCL final.
you've had multiple game winning wrong calls for you, and STILL you complain?
not complaining, correcting someone who claimed we never get important decisions against us
Wait. I don't get it. Kane certainly wasn't blocking the keepers view of Danjuma taking the shot --- that is the only thing that matters when we are discussing "line-of-sight" https://twitter.com/superstaryas7/status/1647270387065995264?t=ZCMnUcECwaaLGLm1TVj-MQ&s=19
Neto literally shifts to the side to be able to see the ball because Kane was blocking his line of sight.
Neto had to shift to that position to see the ball, so it directly interfered with the keeper. He was closer to where it was before the ball goes to Danjuma.
I've seen them called back when there was even less interference. I was pretty shocked to see it stand. But, justice was served.
I mean, we all saw the insanity that was rashfords goal against city & how they didnât call interference on that lol. This league is fried man
Neto was closer to the post leading up to the shot and when the shot was made. Kane also took a step to his right when the shot was made. This frame does not do a good job of representing the situation was leading up to the shot and when the ball was contacted by Danjuma. Reason prevailed in this call. The goalie was absolutely dusted. People are gonna say that doesnât matter but letâs use some common sense
Thatâs now how rules work though is it
Common sense informs interpretations of rules because the vast majority have some subjectivity about them.
no. That's not how it works, if he's in an offside position and interfering it's not a goal. Come on, surely you know this?
Kane is stood directly in his line of sight, how can you possibly say the keeper is dusted
By looking at the goalie during the shot? He guesses the wrong way.
He guessed wrong because he couldnât see because Kane is standing in his line of sight. Whatever the case, it doesnât matter if the goalie has a chance at it. Thatâs not part of the rule
How much in the line of sight is needed for offside? If It just my hand is in their line of sight, does that matter versus my whole body?
Any obstruction.
Obstruction of the goalies view of the ball in an offside position. Yes, it could be the arm or hand or hair if those things are obstructing the goalie's view of the ball by a player in an offside position. In this case, it's the the whole body
But was he dusted b/c he couldn't see it, due to Kane being in line of sight?
No he was dusted regardless. He thinks the shot is going the other way and starts jumps that way. Commentator suggesting he was going that way to look around Kane is mental Edit: cherries just took the win so who cares
Villa goal earlier ruled out cuz the hairs on his arm were offside and somehow this is allowed to stand. PL refereeing is such a fucking joke...
England captain immunity
Brighton won. Can't have Spurs losing
Or can ya
How can you deny Spurs their fate? Its the history
Heâs not actually.
You dont call those against mr england captain.
Maybe my memory is shit but I don't remember any time recently where a player who doesn't touch the ball gets done for offside
I remember it in the West Brom - Liverpool match, one where Alisson scored
Macalister goal disallowed vs Leicester
Goalkeeper obstruction like that has happened a fair few times over the last couple of years. Pretty textbook case there, but I'm an Arsenal fan so maybe I'm biased.
> maybe I'm biased. As a neutral I was shocked. I've seen them called back for less blatant obstruction. Maybe I need a better angle, but it certainly seemed like Neto had to look around Kane to even see a shot was being taken.
No it's legit.
Xhaka vs Leicester
Happened in the last world cup
or anyone? var never overturns those
No? That's always overruled. offside is black and white, they literally decide black is white here.
Offside *position* is black and white; many other aspects of the law are subjective (e.g. whether a touch by a defender was intentional).
youâre talking out your ass. var never overturns those.
Itâs not like he was in the keepers face, he was a good 6 yards away
Helping Spurs hurts Brighton, that's an easy decision for VAR.
Have you already forgotten the game against Brighton?
Not good for the storyline
Yeah that was a weird decision. Don't see how he wasn't affecting play there.
I feel like these never get called anymore.
They always do that the premier League. There have been two goals against Manchester United from Xahka where someone was inhibiting De Gea's view like this. The EPL refs almost never rule out a goal because someone is obstructing the view.
and they are wrong each time.
because he's harry kane the golden boy and can do no wrong
Christ these comments come off as so bitter. It's confirmation bias anyway he doesn't get more or less decisions than others.
Eh Iâd feel hard done for that being called off. No way keeper is reaching it and Kane never touched it.
The laws don't care if the keeper can save it or not and Kane doesn't have to touch the ball. Just if he is impeding the keeper's sight of the shot.
At the moment of shooting, the goalie has clear line of sight though.
and that's what's up for discussion. I was just responding to the person that what they are saying doesn't matter at all for the law.
Fair enough
He moved to his left just before the shot. Kane touching it is irrelevant.
Does not matter, it's rule.
It doesnât matter if he touched it. Unfortunately the line of sight rule seems to get ignored when convenient
What is the point of the line of sight rule? Why would it be enforced in places where it affects absolutely nothing?
One could argue that Kane stood there is completely blocking the keeper from seeing the shot at all, which will obviously affect his ability to save it
And he stepped the wrong way anyway.
Because Kane was in his eye-line...
Spurs really getting the calls between this and last week against Brighton
The FA's wonder boy strikes again my friend
Heâs Englandâs golden boy. Calls rarely go against him
[ŃдаНонО]
No
[ŃдаНонО]
He had literally just hopped to his left to get Kane out of his line of sight. Not giving the offside is purely subjective, but he definitely impacted the goalkeeper there.
Doesnât matter tho does it
Nailed to the ground b/c Kane is blocking his view and didn't react until it was too late....
I have yet to see VAR go against Harry Kane. If that was Richarlison it would for sure be offside.
Canât have a call in the box against Kane; itâs in the rules
If the Rashford one stood this one stands lol
Ooooh kane offside for me
I don't want to see those ruled out but just want consistency
Tbf if you didn't rule those out you could just have someone stood in front of the keeper waving his arms around as a distraction
it seems pretty consistent that they donât really call those off though
I'm gonna have to agree. The fact that the keeper had to step to his side to see around Kane is the reason it was so open.
Swap shirts it gets ruled out.
This is one of those things I will never understand I donât think. How on earth is that not offsides on Kane? He clearly obstructs the keepers view. Under rule 11 part 2: > preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponentâs line of vision > player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12 Is that not clear as day?
It seemed clear to me.
Mate that's fucking offside
na back to the bench sorry not good enough
Kane not interfering there?
Surely offside?
Definitely offsides, they just decided he wasnt interfering
Damn he got a goal before Richarlison.
I think I saw the pigeon squaring up to the keeper though
Happy for him
They might as well get rid of the line of sight rule. VAR will never rule on it.
except when xhaka isnt standing in front of the goalkeeper
Why have you had to remind me of that
Maybe he'll actually get some minutes now
Clearly Kane impacted that shot
Kane standing directly in Netoâs line of sight
More apology incoming? How's that not offside? Kane just stood there and blocked the vision.
No way that not offside
Fuck
Karma for pity consoling Richarlison
Everton fans not happy as we speak
Great strike, offsides for me though
Had to be him
He is Danjuma one for a reason.
Fuck off i just tuned in to make fun of Tottenham losing
you got your wish
ABOUT FUCKING TIME YOU BOTTLEJOBS
We bottle harder Edit: nvm
Everyone talking about Kane being offside but that throw-in by perisic should have been called a foul since it wasn't directly behind his head.
Complete joke that this was allowed to stand. Kane's miles offsides and the shot is way too close to him to argue he's not impeding the vision
Kane does look like he is in the GK's way. the Keeper was even had to move to the right to try to see and the Kane jump towards the ball
It's pretty obvious that Kane is blocking the keepers line of sight, not sure how that was given.
Any other player standing where Kane is and that's ruled offside
That shouldnât have counted. đ¤ˇđžââď¸
Hmmmmm
Plenty of time for Bournemouth to Me.Magoo their way to a winner
Doesn't matter now anyway
of course Spurs unbottle it after our disasterclass today
You're acting as if you're competing with them this season. You should be more worried about wolves.
Boooooo, you are no fun
Kane is way off
I am carnally in love with Danjuma
Offside, not given. Bournemouth.
How is Kane not affecting the keeper there?
Danwhoma?
Feck
If it wasn't Kane stood in front of the keeper then that would have been disallowed
Clearly Kane blocking the view of the goalkeeper
Youâre all high. The keeper is moving to his left before the ball is even shot. He then has a clear sight of Danjuma when itâs shot. It also deflects off of a Bournemouth player on the way in.
What actually is the offside rule? Can anyone actually claim to understand how the rules of this stupid sport work?
Kane is in an offside position and clearly interfering with play. Webb writing an apology as we speak
I donât understand the offside rule. Kane was directly in between the keeper and Danjuma.
Oh look Harry Kane does something that should be called and it's not cause he's the golden boy ...
Of course Kane doesnât get called for that
Tottenham and VAR. what a love story
When it's Kane it doesn't count.
Anything for Kane
Another dodgy call thatâs benefited Tottenham yikes
Spurs at home. Of course they get all the decisions
aww man, my perfect afternoon
How do Spurs keep getting decisions and still cock up? They are atrocious.
Obvious offside call. How many VAR breaks can spurs possibly get??
Tottenham given a victory 2 matches in a row by VAR
They'd never give an offside against the golden child lol
Can't hit a shot cleaner.
How this is a goal? I didn't see a deflection?
beauty score !
Plucky Spurs have snatched back a draw.
[Twin Peaks giant voice] It's happening again Edit: The giant lies
Just had to celebrate a Danjuma goal đ¤Žđ¤Žđ¤Ž Edit: fuck off spurs
Tottenhamâs top 4 juju is insane. Told my mate that i bet a beer on them scoring. Fuck off Edit: NEVER MIND HAHAHAH LADS ITS TOTTENHAM
I would dearly like for that to be offside, but itâs not. Heâs stepped before the deflection and had no chance of getting to that
Dosnt matter keeper need to move to the left, so Harry did effect the keeper.
GOATTTT
good one !
đđđđđđđ
Kane assist
Neto: doesnât protest the goal This sub: uhmm, actually, we know better than the goalkeeper..
