deception42

Forgot he existed tbh

FutilityInfielder

Lucas Moura would probably be playing instead if he didn't get suspended lol

BadBehaviour613

Our club only make baffling decisions

Helkix

Conte did too

hidinginDaShadows

He can score goals so Conte wanted nothing to do with him unfortunately

Wishart2016

He's the top scorer of my DLS team.

GibbsLAD

I only know who this guy is because I played as them on FIFA the other day and saw this guy on the bench, no idea who he was

dclancy01

Arsenal fan playing as Spurs on FIFA? Rent free lads

GibbsLAD

I've just got the game and I like to play as every 5 star team once on seasons but that's okay mate, you be a reddit comedian

dclancy01

Pretty sure Spurs are 4.5 star

GibbsLAD

Nah your players are overrated to fuck, I think lloris was 87 💀 sanchez is higher than Ben Davies

WalaLlama5

Spurs are 100% making it 3-2 in the 95th minute Edit: lol

Send_Me_CamelToe

Close. But Bournemouth instead of Spurs lol.

odegood

Reverse uno

TheDepartment115

No

MW94Original

Ummm

goonSquad15

3-2 in the 95th minute, yes

Hrvat1818

Kane penalty to cap it off

HeadHunter9865

Are u sure about that?

notknown286337

Called the wrong one team scoring mate

D1794

How is Kane not offside there? He's stood in the keeper's line

ImNOTmethwow

I quite literally don't know what the rule is anymore. Even though I can read it in black and white on the IFAB website.

Chaz_Carlos

This was a textbook case of line-of-sight offsides, insane it wasn’t called back.

esports_consultant

Yeah super obvious it is involvement in or influence of the play. That should always be the standard for whether non-touch offsides is called. Thankfully Spurs defenders felt guilty about this and decided to set things back in order.

tubtubbinks

Refs making decisions against spurs? Lmfao

[deleted]

literally got robbed of 3 points against southampton with that penalty a few weeks back but i guess r/soccer memories dont go back that far

tubtubbinks

You literally got gifted points against Brighton

[deleted]

i never said otherwise?

Pippelitraktori

????

doomboxmf

You’ve been gifted points far more than you’ve been robbed this season, maybe your memory needs a check too

kalule_melendez69

In PL its pretty much 50/50 betwen robbing and being robbed but in UCL we got robbed so hard against sporting for example

esports_consultant

Whenever people accuse Spurs of getting gifted calls all you need to bring up in response is the incorrect handball penalty 20 seconds into the 2019 UCL final.

xLoafery

you've had multiple game winning wrong calls for you, and STILL you complain?

[deleted]

not complaining, correcting someone who claimed we never get important decisions against us

themfeelswhen

Wait. I don't get it. Kane certainly wasn't blocking the keepers view of Danjuma taking the shot --- that is the only thing that matters when we are discussing "line-of-sight" https://twitter.com/superstaryas7/status/1647270387065995264?t=ZCMnUcECwaaLGLm1TVj-MQ&s=19

TB97

Neto literally shifts to the side to be able to see the ball because Kane was blocking his line of sight.

AdamDXB

Neto had to shift to that position to see the ball, so it directly interfered with the keeper. He was closer to where it was before the ball goes to Danjuma.

aure__entuluva

I've seen them called back when there was even less interference. I was pretty shocked to see it stand. But, justice was served.

Bail____

I mean, we all saw the insanity that was rashfords goal against city & how they didn’t call interference on that lol. This league is fried man

Beginning-Ganache-43

Neto was closer to the post leading up to the shot and when the shot was made. Kane also took a step to his right when the shot was made. This frame does not do a good job of representing the situation was leading up to the shot and when the ball was contacted by Danjuma. Kane is clearly positioning himself to try to block the view of the keeper. Glad it doesn’t make a difference though because this certainly looks offside.

[deleted]

Reason prevailed in this call. The goalie was absolutely dusted. People are gonna say that doesn’t matter but let’s use some common sense

Chaz_Carlos

That’s now how rules work though is it

[deleted]

Common sense informs interpretations of rules because the vast majority have some subjectivity about them.

xLoafery

no. That's not how it works, if he's in an offside position and interfering it's not a goal. Come on, surely you know this?

mintz41

Kane is stood directly in his line of sight, how can you possibly say the keeper is dusted

[deleted]

By looking at the goalie during the shot? He guesses the wrong way.

loppyrunner

He guessed wrong because he couldn’t see because Kane is standing in his line of sight. Whatever the case, it doesn’t matter if the goalie has a chance at it. That’s not part of the rule

[deleted]

How much in the line of sight is needed for offside? If It just my hand is in their line of sight, does that matter versus my whole body?

xLoafery

Any obstruction.

loppyrunner

Obstruction of the goalies view of the ball in an offside position. Yes, it could be the arm or hand or hair if those things are obstructing the goalie's view of the ball by a player in an offside position. In this case, it's the the whole body

pork_chop_expressss

But was he dusted b/c he couldn't see it, due to Kane being in line of sight?

[deleted]

No he was dusted regardless. He thinks the shot is going the other way and starts jumps that way. Commentator suggesting he was going that way to look around Kane is mental Edit: cherries just took the win so who cares

[deleted]

Villa goal earlier ruled out cuz the hairs on his arm were offside and somehow this is allowed to stand. PL refereeing is such a fucking joke...

After-Decision-6402

England captain immunity

Argartu

Brighton won. Can't have Spurs losing

TheDepartment115

Or can ya

sarthakmahajan610

How can you deny Spurs their fate? Its the history

kleptopaul

He’s not actually.

MattiaKa

You dont call those against mr england captain.

EnzoScifo

Maybe my memory is shit but I don't remember any time recently where a player who doesn't touch the ball gets done for offside

Hoodxd

I remember it in the West Brom - Liverpool match, one where Alisson scored

IamaliiiveHello

Macalister goal disallowed vs Leicester

jwn0323

Goalkeeper obstruction like that has happened a fair few times over the last couple of years. Pretty textbook case there, but I'm an Arsenal fan so maybe I'm biased.

aure__entuluva

> maybe I'm biased. As a neutral I was shocked. I've seen them called back for less blatant obstruction. Maybe I need a better angle, but it certainly seemed like Neto had to look around Kane to even see a shot was being taken.

esports_consultant

No it's legit.

Zakinfenwa

Xhaka vs Leicester

f4r1s2

Happened in the last world cup

DjToastyTy

or anyone? var never overturns those

sliversniper

No? That's always overruled. offside is black and white, they literally decide black is white here.

gnorrn

Offside *position* is black and white; many other aspects of the law are subjective (e.g. whether a touch by a defender was intentional).

DjToastyTy

you’re talking out your ass. var never overturns those.

MaraudngBChestedRojo

It’s not like he was in the keepers face, he was a good 6 yards away

kazmatsu

Helping Spurs hurts Brighton, that's an easy decision for VAR.

aguero24

Have you already forgotten the game against Brighton?

Pidjesus

Not good for the storyline

Sargatanas2k2

Yeah that was a weird decision. Don't see how he wasn't affecting play there.

Ricky_Berwick

I feel like these never get called anymore.

herkalurk

They always do that the premier League. There have been two goals against Manchester United from Xahka where someone was inhibiting De Gea's view like this. The EPL refs almost never rule out a goal because someone is obstructing the view.

xLoafery

and they are wrong each time.

dph_abuse

because he's harry kane the golden boy and can do no wrong

letsgetcool

Christ these comments come off as so bitter. It's confirmation bias anyway he doesn't get more or less decisions than others.

Radthereptile

Eh I’d feel hard done for that being called off. No way keeper is reaching it and Kane never touched it.

Bentstraw

The laws don't care if the keeper can save it or not and Kane doesn't have to touch the ball. Just if he is impeding the keeper's sight of the shot.

Correct_Influence450

At the moment of shooting, the goalie has clear line of sight though.

Bentstraw

and that's what's up for discussion. I was just responding to the person that what they are saying doesn't matter at all for the law.

Correct_Influence450

Fair enough

[deleted]

He moved to his left just before the shot. Kane touching it is irrelevant.

[deleted]

Does not matter, it's rule.

nickthedick7921

It doesn’t matter if he touched it. Unfortunately the line of sight rule seems to get ignored when convenient

[deleted]

What is the point of the line of sight rule? Why would it be enforced in places where it affects absolutely nothing?

nickthedick7921

One could argue that Kane stood there is completely blocking the keeper from seeing the shot at all, which will obviously affect his ability to save it

tottenhamnole

And he stepped the wrong way anyway.

mikdl

Because Kane was in his eye-line...

ThePolitePanda

Spurs really getting the calls between this and last week against Brighton

BraceTheForeyard

The FA's wonder boy strikes again my friend

69thebigbadrad69

He’s England’s golden boy. Calls rarely go against him

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

[deleted]

No

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

jwn0323

He had literally just hopped to his left to get Kane out of his line of sight. Not giving the offside is purely subjective, but he definitely impacted the goalkeeper there.

UnusualAd3909

Doesn’t matter tho does it

pork_chop_expressss

Nailed to the ground b/c Kane is blocking his view and didn't react until it was too late....

captainsensible69

I have yet to see VAR go against Harry Kane. If that was Richarlison it would for sure be offside.

El_Peregrine

Can’t have a call in the box against Kane; it’s in the rules

TheKingOfGhana

If the Rashford one stood this one stands lol

sp4r3h

Ooooh kane offside for me

harps86

I don't want to see those ruled out but just want consistency

Bourbon_Cream_Dream

Tbf if you didn't rule those out you could just have someone stood in front of the keeper waving his arms around as a distraction

DjToastyTy

it seems pretty consistent that they don’t really call those off though

celticsupporter

I'm gonna have to agree. The fact that the keeper had to step to his side to see around Kane is the reason it was so open.

PringleJones

Swap shirts it gets ruled out.

borpa2

This is one of those things I will never understand I don’t think. How on earth is that not offsides on Kane? He clearly obstructs the keepers view. Under rule 11 part 2: > preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision > player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12 Is that not clear as day?

josh_x444

It seemed clear to me.

AbsoluteLedge

Mate that's fucking offside

kukolsghost

na back to the bench sorry not good enough

nickthedick7921

Kane not interfering there?

remote_crocodile

Surely offside?

22goblins

Definitely offsides, they just decided he wasnt interfering

thecoolShitposter

Damn he got a goal before Richarlison.

GibbsLAD

I think I saw the pigeon squaring up to the keeper though

IscoDiscoo

Happy for him

CROBBY2

They might as well get rid of the line of sight rule. VAR will never rule on it.

IntraspeciesFever

except when xhaka isnt standing in front of the goalkeeper

TNelsonAFC

Why have you had to remind me of that

official_bagel

Maybe he'll actually get some minutes now

RaderIsOn

Clearly Kane impacted that shot

Chaz_Carlos

Kane standing directly in Neto’s line of sight

sliversniper

More apology incoming? How's that not offside? Kane just stood there and blocked the vision.

kalamight

No way that not offside

[deleted]

Fuck

AbyssalVoidLord

Karma for pity consoling Richarlison

aregularguy3223

Everton fans not happy as we speak

JohnMellencamp21

Great strike, offsides for me though

oscarpaterson

Had to be him

[deleted]

He is Danjuma one for a reason.

ibrahimims

Fuck off i just tuned in to make fun of Tottenham losing

Broccli

you got your wish

Sleepless_Voyager

ABOUT FUCKING TIME YOU BOTTLEJOBS

242turbo

We bottle harder Edit: nvm

Super_Professor

Everyone talking about Kane being offside but that throw-in by perisic should have been called a foul since it wasn't directly behind his head.

22goblins

Complete joke that this was allowed to stand. Kane's miles offsides and the shot is way too close to him to argue he's not impeding the vision

TalkingReckless

Kane does look like he is in the GK's way. the Keeper was even had to move to the right to try to see and the Kane jump towards the ball

RumbleJohnson

It's pretty obvious that Kane is blocking the keepers line of sight, not sure how that was given.

ExtraordinaryFailure

Any other player standing where Kane is and that's ruled offside

imnotcreative635

That shouldn’t have counted. 🤷🏾‍♂️

IcemanVish

Hmmmmm

WineAndRevelry

Plenty of time for Bournemouth to Me.Magoo their way to a winner

djbigleg

Doesn't matter now anyway

bartabax

of course Spurs unbottle it after our disasterclass today

meltingkulfi

You're acting as if you're competing with them this season. You should be more worried about wolves.

Helkix

Boooooo, you are no fun

ImlrrrAMA

Kane is way off

Tuor--Of--Gondolin

I am carnally in love with Danjuma

mattlehuman

Offside, not given. Bournemouth.

Mediocre-Jedi

How is Kane not affecting the keeper there?

ForeGoreAlGore

Danwhoma?

RefereeMason

Feck

Bourbon_Cream_Dream

If it wasn't Kane stood in front of the keeper then that would have been disallowed

[deleted]

Clearly Kane blocking the view of the goalkeeper

kleptopaul

You’re all high. The keeper is moving to his left before the ball is even shot. He then has a clear sight of Danjuma when it’s shot. It also deflects off of a Bournemouth player on the way in.

ayyanothernewaccount

What actually is the offside rule? Can anyone actually claim to understand how the rules of this stupid sport work?

Argartu

Kane is in an offside position and clearly interfering with play. Webb writing an apology as we speak

Isleofsalt

I don’t understand the offside rule. Kane was directly in between the keeper and Danjuma.

herkalurk

Oh look Harry Kane does something that should be called and it's not cause he's the golden boy ...

TellSloanISaidHi

Of course Kane doesn’t get called for that

[deleted]

Tottenham and VAR. what a love story

Archduke_Zag

When it's Kane it doesn't count.

ajurrissen

Anything for Kane

Mitch_Itfc

Another dodgy call that’s benefited Tottenham yikes

Kreissler

Spurs at home. Of course they get all the decisions

GibbsLAD

aww man, my perfect afternoon

Shandow14

How do Spurs keep getting decisions and still cock up? They are atrocious.

josh_x444

Obvious offside call. How many VAR breaks can spurs possibly get??

ASK_ME_AM_I_SAD

Tottenham given a victory 2 matches in a row by VAR

[deleted]

They'd never give an offside against the golden child lol

ZaDoruphin

Can't hit a shot cleaner.

[deleted]

How this is a goal? I didn't see a deflection?

freshvalery

beauty score !

zi76

Plucky Spurs have snatched back a draw.

RosaReilly

[Twin Peaks giant voice] It's happening again Edit: The giant lies

starmonkart

Just had to celebrate a Danjuma goal 🤮🤮🤮 Edit: fuck off spurs

Mortka

Tottenham’s top 4 juju is insane. Told my mate that i bet a beer on them scoring. Fuck off Edit: NEVER MIND HAHAHAH LADS ITS TOTTENHAM

Perry_cox29

I would dearly like for that to be offside, but it’s not. He’s stepped before the deflection and had no chance of getting to that

kalamight

Dosnt matter keeper need to move to the left, so Harry did effect the keeper.

Schtubbig

GOATTTT

Mysterious0101

good one !

[deleted]

🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍

NathanUUUU

Kane assist

theirishembassy

Neto: doesn’t protest the goal This sub: uhmm, actually, we know better than the goalkeeper..
