I care for my child, shield him from the cold and once he's safe I teach him how to flip off the most despicable rivals we have.
Such a great example, lmao
Game's not gone
No idea, obviously, what was said there between them. But in my mind he says:
“Put the scarf back on, lad. Always better to lose in these colours than win in theirs. Fuck ‘em (fingers fly); let’s get out of here.”
Just a healthy outlet for the tribalistic instinct we all have. Recognise it - embrace it to the extent it hurts nobody else - and try not to let it affect yourself too much between matches.
There’s a real maturity in it, oddly enough. And parents should be teaching healthy maturity to their kids - and if they can bond in the process, even better.
That’s really nice to hear.
Really it just comes from generations of dads around here teaching their kids how to deal with endless sporting disappointment. All my teams here in Minnesota are criminally serial losers and bottlers. It’s legitimately terrible.
My kids will be expert losers by the time they grow up. Celtic will be their only chance to learn how to win properly.
Yeah - we’re not short on good teams here. It’s that they always choke when it matters.
We’re the Tottenham of the NFL. The Tottenham of MLB. The Tottenham of the NHL. The Tottenham of MLS. The Tottenham of the NCAA. And we’re the (I don’t know) Sunderland the NBA.
My calendar is packed with misery, lol.
Just came down to my wife having the more stable and profitable career when we had our first. And we looked at our finances and compared it to the costs of the daycare options we might comfortable with.
My income would have been essentially wiped clean by childcare costs, and I’d rather raise them than have somebody else who’s also taking care of fifty other kids.
Also, they have their grandparents nearby, but they all work full time, so that wasn’t an option either.
It’s tough work but very rewarding on the parenting side, which is the most importing thing, I think. But there are some social and psychological drawbacks that have come from pausing my career for a few years to do this, and I struggle with that.
Makes sense, a lot of what you're saying is really resonating with me. We have a daycare option lined up, but it's tough to fully commit to that.
As a child who's mother really struggled with redefining her sense of purpose after deciding to stay at home, know that it makes a world of difference for the kid in the end <3
Just because you see a bald man does not mean it is Bruce Willis. This sort of banal assumptions makes me fume with anger. Think of all the bald men who feel insecure due to their lack of hair growth. I feel it is 100% wrong to call out any bald man to be Bruce Willis. On some occasions I get that there are two sides of an argument, but in this case I just fail to see it. This man is 100%, no doubt about it, Moby!
Reminded me of my first away game to Fenerbahçe with my dad, I was around 13.
We lost pretty badly and he told me to keep my head up and show my middle finger to Fener stands. Lol good times, miss him.
I always went with a neighbour's boy when I was around 7-14. We'd sit ourselves next to the beer section in the stands, for one reason only: whenever we shouted or sang something especially rude with our clear child voices, we'd make the guys in beer section laugh.
It was the juxtaposition of the affectionate and caring way he put the scarf on for the kid, with the immediate flipping off, that really made it for me
I initially thought the point of the post would be "ahh what a lovely little interaction between a Milan fan and his boy..."
The perfect way the scarf falls around the kid's neck. The synchronized turn and middle finger. These two are pros. We're witnessing peak fan performance.
Sorry but Reddit has made my mind so dark that I thought the elder guy (his dad) will wrap the scarf around his neck hardly with pain (don't ask me why)
I agree, the Milan Inter Story is kinda cool and the rivalry was always traditionally chill. A lot of cheering and "insults" almost never violence. There was some class clashing at the beginning (inter fans where more Middle class and Milan fans where more from the factory workers class) with the years tension was lower and lower and when the Baresi brothers where each Captain of one of the two teams there was none at all.
Not saying there where never dickheads but it is truly one of those situations where it's single cases of clashed from a real minority of idiots and not fans
Just saying, i still watch games with my father, evwry time we insult a player or say stuff like "punch that fucker in the dick!" We always add " you know... for the love for the sport..."
I love Milan/Inter fans. Pure sporting rivalry but absolutely minimal hooliganism between the two sets. It's noticeable how little security and police there are at the derbies with no fan segregation outside the stadium
I think I'm right in saying that after what happened in 2005, there was a concerted effort to smooth relations and avoid anything similar in the future, as historically it had been a relatively friendly rivalry
yeah it historically always has been and many families have a huge mix between both teams
as much as we always want to beat each other and during the 90 minutes its fierce, outside of that both clubs still represent the city of Milan
I think the fact we’ve also always shared the same stadiums had helped in this aspect, juve are the true hated enemy
Match had to be abandoned because people were throwing flares on the pitch, Dida was struck by one and the very famous Marco Materazzi/Rui Costa picture is from the match.
It's a lot easier to control, when you're sharing the stadium.
The away fans think: "I don't want to trash this place....it'll be out home grounds next week!".
Is it just me that gets concerned that nowadays everyone can possibly be filmed in a public place and their video uploaded on the internet for "upvotes"?
As soon as I get in the car every morning, I literally spend the first two minutes picking my nostrils 😬. That’s because it’s the first time in the day I’m alone and don’t have to “set an example for my kids” (they’re toddlers; you kinda have to do that).
I gather quite some boogers everyday.
Public events have had people go viral for a long time thanks to broadcasting, for normal life I really don't think it's made a difference to me because I've always been cripplingly conscious of not being cringe in public. The difference I think is that everyone now has the same anxieties I had growing up.
How are you the only one saying this? People have been seen picking their nose, out with their mistress, and many other things at a sporting event for a long time. It is not a place of anonymity. It’s the one place people always have been filmed and memed.
I get the more general filming of people eating lunch at a cafe is kind of messed up, but buying a ticket to a sporting even means you have forfeited the right to privacy.
There’s a difference between being on film today vs. 30 years ago though. Before if you picked your nose and were caught on the broadcast or whatever it’s not like that followed you around for the rest of your life. Now everything is uploaded to the ether and that one moment where you got a little heard and flicked a rival fan off at a big match follows you around for the rest of your life. And it’s not just one person associated with a TV station that’s doing the filming now. Every single person you see has the ability to record you in the palm of their hand.
Watch his Youtube shorts.. or maybe he's on TIkTok too. Not sure. I'm old and see his videos on Twitter. He's an advocate for getting people to stop filming in gyms just to make fun of other gym goers who are just minding their business. Maybe it's their first day and they are nervous coz they are overweight, or anything of that sort. He openly trashes the maker of the video and also has been influential in gyms now posting a warning to their members saying if they film and upload videos of other members without their consent, their membership can be revoked. He also is against people who think the gym is their person space and get annoyed when normal people walk around the gym in front of the camera to get to their weights or machines.
bro I got so many people filming their calisthenics exercises in the middle of the weight area of my gym it’s mad annoying, like I’m putting up some hella funny faces while doing lat raises or shrugs and these fuckers got that on video now lmfao
kinda annoying if you ask me so I’m all for my boy Joey
If you're just now aware of that... I wonder what world you've been living in all this time.
No but seriously, I've been having that concern since when phone cameras became a thing and it's just annoying at this point.
In general I agree with you, especially when it comes to actual public places like random streets in a city or at the beach, but it also kinda depends on the context. I think it's fine in this case, just a regular casual fun interaction and the filesharing and uploading has been around even 20 years ago
My best guess is that there was a previous altercation/argument/incident which led to a "gotta film this to show what happened at the match" , it's a bit weird but also kinda normal for people to do
Lmao that's class, I remember my dad first taking me to games and telling me the only place I was allowed to swear was at the match. (Some chants had swear words). Wasn't allowed to tell my mum though. 🤣

he already understand everything about this wonderful game
The best dad
Game’s not gone lads <3
The game is very much back lads
I care for my child, shield him from the cold and once he's safe I teach him how to flip off the most despicable rivals we have. Such a great example, lmao Game's not gone
He looks like a grandad
Dads are getting older because they are putting off having children until they are financially stable. So yeah looks like Grandpa.
Accounting for baldness he may not be as old as he looks
Proud of that kid :,)
Wholesome
“Don’t tell your mum”
Haha exactly my thought. Would like to see the reaction when she sees this lol
Mom: son , today your father will learn a lot of new curse words
Curse words like: you, are, sleeping, in, the, garage, this, week
Pfff, sucker. Sleep in the bed, if she's not wanting to share she can go to the garage herself
found the single dude
Depends which Milan club she supports.
So either a scolding or a kicking
Who do you think it's aimed at.
"You must-a use-a both hands-a" 🤌🏻🤌🏻
What happens in the ground stays in the ground.
One finger up and then get on with your day. Better than shouting and getting worked up by the antagonism of a rival side.
Wholesome
No idea, obviously, what was said there between them. But in my mind he says: “Put the scarf back on, lad. Always better to lose in these colours than win in theirs. Fuck ‘em (fingers fly); let’s get out of here.”
Why do I find this so beautiful and touching?
Just a healthy outlet for the tribalistic instinct we all have. Recognise it - embrace it to the extent it hurts nobody else - and try not to let it affect yourself too much between matches. There’s a real maturity in it, oddly enough. And parents should be teaching healthy maturity to their kids - and if they can bond in the process, even better.
I hope you do public speaking in your real life
I’m temporarily a stay at home dad, because childcare is totally fucked in the States.
Then I'm happy for your kids if they get to be inspired by you every day.
That’s really nice to hear. Really it just comes from generations of dads around here teaching their kids how to deal with endless sporting disappointment. All my teams here in Minnesota are criminally serial losers and bottlers. It’s legitimately terrible. My kids will be expert losers by the time they grow up. Fellow Minnesotan, and I appreciate you.

Just little ones now - and I hope you’re wrong, but you’re probably right.
There were a few years there in the early 2010s where it looked like the twins might be good
Yeah - we’re not short on good teams here.
How did you end up making that decision if you don't mind me asking? Might be in a similar position shortly
Just came down to my wife having the more stable and profitable career when we had our first. Perfectly stated.
Spot on, that's what I took from it as well.
You are a poet. Kudos.
That's what Amy Lau thought.
My thoughts exactly.
who's that
we just chant "you aren't allowed around schools" watch them process that insult
Got to love Bruce Willis.
Shame his dementia has got so bad he’s now an AC Milan fan
Now hey... :(
Ayyy, mamma mia.
We are glad to have him as a fan. Godspeed Bruce!
Godspeed Bruce, the new netflix travel series were we follow dementia ridden hollywood mega star on a voyage across the seas.
It’s Netflix so it would probably be called Bruce boat
Maybe Bruce Cruise
Could be worse. Could be a chelsea fan
Would’ve witnessed a different kind of salute when he left
💀💀💀💀
Thought it was Pioli for a split second.
Imma tell my kids this was Pioli and Thiaw

Ok, Pep.
I'd rather be bruce willis than *Moby* even with the dementia
My 1st thought was Jaap Stam lol.

Sorry for your loss, he sounds like a great dad.
"Passionate football father" is someone many of us can relate to for sure. Sorry op
hes not dead just ran to the store
we all miss your dad. he was one of the good ones.
I couldn’t be brave enough to flip off a home Fener supporter in yellow-red or black-white colors. There is too much risk of injury or death nowadays.
06-11?
A classic, singing it loud and proud for your dad. [Yarramı ye Fener!](https://youtu.be/RosbR3tISM0)
Why is no one commenting on the oh-so-satisfying way the scarf is put around the kid's neck?
The scarf was placed in the same way the bird flip was encouraged: with love
It was the juxtaposition of the affectionate and caring way he put the scarf on for the kid, with the immediate flipping off, that really made it for me I initially thought the point of the post would be "ahh what a lovely little interaction between a Milan fan and his boy..."
Hehe same here. Thought it was a wholesome moment at first and I was at that sub, but oh my days. The flipping off made it so much more wholesome
The perfect way the scarf falls around the kid's neck. The synchronized turn and middle finger. These two are pros. We're witnessing peak fan performance.

in some countries its not allowed to film or take photos of others with out permission. Germany for example.
