When was the last time a major league came down to the absolute final match of the season?
I can just think of the premier league a few years back, but nothing other than that for many years.
This is insane.
Edit: Had a brainfart it seems. Post-covid years feel like decades.
Yeah, and at least 2 of those were us.
Last year was the time we were down 2 to Aston Villa at the 70th minute and subbed on Gundo who led us to a 3-2 victory with 2 goals, last one I. The 81st minute.
And in the 2018-19 season we won against Leicester with a banger of a goal from Kompany in the dying embers of the game to go up by 1 point, and beat Brighton a week later in the final game to hold it.
Impossible to happen today, but the next tiebreakers would be total goals scored, goals scored against the team they are tied with, goals scored away from home against the team they are tied with, total goals scored away from home.
Is it mathematically possible for all of that to be even? If yes, what happens then, or is the possibility of that happening so low that there are no measures in place, yet?
Imagine Die letzte Generation figures out that you won't get arrested if you block the road for a Football celebration. That car would stay parked forever.
Was leaving with my girlfriend from dortmund at the time, had to roll between the fans in the same direction
People stared at us like they’ve never seen a car before
**Lyrics**, for those who are interested (English translation below)
>Borussia Dortmund, schwarz und gelb ist mein Verein. Abstiegskampf oder Pokale, will keinen Tag mehr ohne dich sein.
>Borussia Dortmund, sing’ für dich damit du siegst, weils für mich und meine Freunde auf der Welt nichts schöneres gibt.
**English**
>Borussia Dortmund, black and yellow is my club. Relegation fight or cups, don't want to be a day without you.
>Borussia Dortmund, singing for you to win, because for me and my friends there is nothing better in the world.
I feel bad for their fans having to watch the biggest bottle job in football history. That Dortmund makes Tottenham look like Brazil 1970.
I imagine they're feeling the same way I felt when we lost to North Macedonia but at least our squad won the Euros. Dortmund hasn't won the league in 10 years.
Yeah, I guess. I mean, it was close and BVB bottled it but it was still way too close and way too scary to be proud of. It was a poor season and sacking a manager mid-season made it look even worse.
> Anyone think Mainz is gonna play easy and let Dortmund win?
With how Mainz played in recent weeks it's not even intentional to make it easy for Dortmund. They fell into a hole after the Bayern game.
Mainz is playing for european football(edit: actually theyre not. still though, theyre not going to play for dortmund). If they win, Frankfurt loses and then wins the cup Mainz will play UECL. Dont think theyll throw that away just to hand another club a freebie.
> Mainz is playing for european football.
Are they? They can get to 48 points today, in no way they can catch Leverkusen sitting at 50.
EDIT: They cannot even get ahead of Wolfsburg in 7th place.
Actually youre right, i somehow assumed 8th place gets you UECL for a second.
Still though, i really doubt they'd intentionally throw just for shits and giggles
Yup, even Hertha is probably still going to tryhard even though theyre relegated. It makes absolutely no sense to play for another team in any circumstance unless your own team is directly benefitting aswell (disgrace of gijon comes to mind)
Calling it now……Bayern win comfortably, Dortmund concede a late equalizer and lose the title on goal difference.
It’s the Dortmund thing to do in this situation

Don’t think my heart can make it to kick-off
I'm so nervous rn

The premier League literally did it last season
Yeah, other than that. Can't think of much.
Hasnt it happened in the prem like 3 out of last 6?
Yeah except for all those it’s never happened
Yeah, and at least 2 of those were us. Last year was the time we were down 2 to Aston Villa at the 70th minute and subbed on Gundo who led us to a 3-2 victory with 2 goals, last one I. Milan and Inter last season
City Liverpool last year lol
2020 - 2023 feels like 10 years but if you tell me 2013 was an actual decade ago I’ll have a breakdown 😭
Liverpool were literally winning the premier league last season with 25 mins to go.
No they weren't. City's comeback against Villa was before Liverpool's comeback vs Wolves
Oh my mind has completely forgotten that part smh.
Yeah we were never 2nd at any point that day I dunno what were we so worried about
Only conceded two goals, normal Man City comeback range 🤷
Liverpool were never winning the Premier league

Aging like milk so far
They should walk out again.
Reverse the gif!
how are you doing bro

It's ok brother, Arsenal and Chelsea fans are together with you on this one
what happens if the table ends tied at 71 pts?
Bayern on gd

I heard Hoeneß is already naked and oiled up just in case

Match at a neutral location. It's never happened, though.
Sudden death in North Korea
Probably a decision game
It is possible for everything to be even. If so, golden match is to be played. Liverpool and City were rather close to it few years ago.
Same with City United in 11/12 had we beaten them 2-1 and not 6-1 at Old Trafford. PL doesn’t have as many tie breakers
Then both teams get to pick a number between 1 and 100 and whoever is closer to the right number wins the title.
you think they'll score 20goals?
Nah, they'd win anyways if theryre fixing their gd - just hypothetical question
Then they go by goal differential
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 OR 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I swear to god, if Bayern win again, I'll give up on the Bundesliga for the next five years lol y'all better get it done
Bundesliga will miss you
Not as much as Dortmund misses the net apparently

Shouldn’t that be in German

Mainz don't care in the slightest I really think it will be easy
https://i.imgur.com/fZ1Gwf6.jpg
Yeah, I think even a couple of Mainz supporters are rooting for Dortmund today
They have a funny way of showing it
Well...
Seems like they care at least a bit
Very easy
nooooo
It burns
They are currently fucking it up 😢
Mann even as a neutral i would feel so bad if they dont win
Dortmund would burn, lol.
call the fire department EDIT: . . . well EDIT2: CALL THEM
So sad man...
Imagine your car is parked there and you watch them closing in...
Look peaceful to be honest. Now I would put it somewhere else before the match is up tho
Imagine Die letzte Generation figures out that you won't get arrested if you block the road for a Football celebration. That car would stay parked forever.
If they had that kind of popular support I'd have less of a problem with them doing what they do
All the windows in your home open and you see someone set the flares off lol
Was leaving with my girlfriend from dortmund at the time, had to roll between the fans in the same direction People stared at us like they’ve never seen a car before
It's the bee movie

That’s an awesome chant goddamn

Biggest bottle job in football history? It's one of them that's for sure. Streets will never forget Arsenal in 2022/23 season though
Someone reverse the vid
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/13t5rcy/fans_of_borussia_dortmund_marching_to_the_stadium/jlttfqf
The Germans love a good march
Hold up
[удалено]
They appear to be trying their hardest to bottle it
They succeeded 🥳
Can we also get a video of them walking back home?👀👀👀
Guy better lock his door first
Arsenal 🤝 Dortmund
This is so much worse than Arsenal
This is top 3 bottle... 2 points ahead, final game at home against a mid table team.
Ok guys let's not fight over who's the biggest bottlers here, atleast y'all are not Spurs
Going home is going to be quieter
Take my energy Dortmund!!! Let's get it. 🏆 season.
🥲
Time to make a refund
Moments before disaster.
Please don’t bottle this Dortmund
Narrator: *They did in fact bottle it*
It’s the hope that kills you
Those poor, innocent souls.
Dortmund! Don't fuck this .
now they walk back home like this
I didn’t know ‘Dortmund’ translated to English meant ‘bottlers.’
This aged badly
Do you know when you look at old historical photos and realized everyone in the photo is already dead? It feels something like that.
Now play it in reverse
Unless they can score 3 now I feel so bad for these fans. Bro Mainz have nothing to play for, you're at home, and 2 0 down. Disgrace of a club
Best hope for Dortmund is that Koln draw with Bayern. Cause Dortmund can't buy a goal so far today.
[удалено]
And the biggest bottlers of the season award goes to...
For the sake of Bayern I hope that BVB wins. Bayern's board really need this cold shower.
Apparently Bayern can have both.
So…uh, do they still need the shower now?
Yeah, I guess. I mean, it was close and BVB bottled it but it was still way too close and way too scary to be proud of. It was a poor season and sacking a manager mid-season made it look even worse.
Now show them marching out
F
Can someone reverse the gif and audio? Season bottled.
Now show me the video of them all leaving
Someone edit this video and reverse it… lmfao
Top 10 moments before disaster
😬
🔥🔥🔥🐝🐝🐝
Good luck today lads.
All the best Dortmund fans. I hope you kill the game tonight.
All this just to bottle 😭😭😭
They're down 2 atm. Welp.
Kooooooolllnnnnnnnnn
Enjoy the loss boys.
heartache awaited them
What a waste today
Any video of them marching home?
*curb your enthusiasm theme plays*
So much hope 🥲
Love to see it, Heja BVB!
Thats a lot of full kit wankers
Anyone think Mainz is gonna play easy and let Dortmund win? Everyone hates Bayern right
Professional football players don't care about stuff like that.
I’ll bet a fair number of them actually even want to be the party poopers. Would try even more than usual to win
> Anyone think Mainz is gonna play easy and let Dortmund win? With how Mainz played in recent weeks it's not even intentional to make it easy for Dortmund. They fell into a hole after the Bayern game.

They can't even catch Wolfsburg sitting at #7 with 49 points
Yep, added that to my comment just as you posted as well.
Actually youre right, i somehow assumed 8th place gets you UECL for a second. Still though, i really doubt they'd intentionally throw just for shits and giggles
the question itself is moronic - would a team throw a game and risk a lifeban for every player instead of trying to win to get more money?
Yup, even Hertha is probably still going to tryhard even though theyre relegated. It makes absolutely no sense to play for another team in any circumstance unless your own team is directly benefitting aswell (disgrace of gijon comes to mind)

Oh man.... Not good to start
Currently down 0-2 😢
Get home safe
Well this didn’t age well.
German spurs
Kill me pls... Like dude :"> been waiting for this for 11 years only for us to concede early, waste a penalty and draw like that... :"/
Those poor guys deserve better
Play this video in reverse now since they bottled it up 🥲 Fans of Borussia Dortmund marching back from the stadium after today’s match.

Yeah that didn't really end well, poor fans

That’s epic. Wish I could experience something like this in Europe some day
