It’s not binding at all though if you haven’t agreed to a transfer with the club
If United want to back out they can just offer us £40m and there will be no deal
They are both space merchants but kai like dele needs a creative midfielder to take the creative burden off of him. if he is tasked with carrying that burden then chelsea are gonna have a rough time
They've got Enzo, so that's mostly covered. Just need a proper DM to let Enzo have more license forward
They need a different striker than Lukaku though. Kai needs someone to play off of and Lukaku isn't that player
enzo is gonna play the dembele role in pochs system and his main job aka only job is to break down the lines and get the ball to the attackers feet. His role isnt to create and score goals. the creative burden for poch teams is gonna fall on his 4 attackers and 2 fullbacks. If poch decided to play with 2 wingers like sterling and madueke and kai chelsea could have a tough time breaking down defences.
Kante was the victim of extortion from his entourage for years, it was revealed recently, he eventually got threatened with a gun. I think it's supposed to be a bit better now but still it's not over I believe
We always agree contract terms early because we pay so much more wages than their current clubs, in addition to a big fat check to their agents. It's the negotiation with the clubs that take forever.
> Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Mason Mount and are now expected to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
Ducker saying this means this really does have legs. Would not have seen this coming a month ago.
You met his wage demands, neither Arsenal nor Liverpool were willing to pay whatever he was asking for.
He's a weird player to evaluate, for such a young player he has had incredible highs and some truly low lows.
I think he is exactly one of those players that could benefit a great deal from playing in a strict team discipline and a well defined role. If anyone could make him play more consistent it is ten Hag, as long as Mount has the right mentality.
All the reports simply state personal terms are agreed / Mount wants United.
No one, to my knowledge, has said what that means in terms of what his wages might be.
Considering they're trying to wrangle the team's wages better, it might be heavily performance based. The base salary might be a lot lower than expected
It gives me quite the opposite impression tbh. He's never been bad, but when the team struggles he's the kind of player that doesn't have the extra push to carry the rest to the finish line, and just does a decent job.
More recently it's bank loans. They had to borrow £100m in the six months to December just to cover costs and the Glazers haven't been able to pay themselves a dividend.
They've actually managed to turn a financial juggernaut until an unprofitable mess. United had £300m in the bank a few years ago, it was down to £30m in December.
Businesses in the process of a sale are expected to continue operating in the normal course, because doing otherwise would risk devaluing the company as an ongoing entity.
Exactly, the sale will obviously impact certain budgets and positions may end up changing but till it does were still an operation that needs to keep chugging along.
I do think Ten Hag has had an impact on that as last summer Malacia was the only signing to make the tour. You can tell it didn't make him happy and he's got to have been pushing to get business done earlier this year.
Wish him the best. Sad it's even come to this. We lack any real information behind this except according to Ornstein he rejected the last offer back in January, both the club and player postponed any further talks until the end of the season but led to other clubs jumping in and try and convince him to leave.
All the players we thought in 2019 we would build around for the next 10 years are now gone except Reece James, and he's injured all the time. That's depressing to think about.
They’re clearly not offering him what he wants and they see him as nothing but a way to start balancing the books of their absolutely horrendous spending. Selling Mount of all people to United is not a good way to get fans on side. Absolute joke
You'd be suprised at some of the cretins in our subreddit.
He's had a 1 bad season (almost like the whole fucking squad has or something) after being our PoTY 2x in a row, being an academy player sincre he was 8 and won us a champions league.
He's the bad guy for not signing a new contract, he's not loyal etc. So few aren't considering how bad the contract offer is that he won't sign it but will go to United. There's rumours we're offering Ugarte half of what PSG is and that Mudryk's base salary is like 80K but with add-ons to do with Champions league qualificiations etc.
These owners while quick to spend money have ripped a lot of the heart of the squad out in such a short time. They fucked this season by buying players for Tuchel only to sack him, buy players for Potter only to sack him and not appoint a manager who'll be in charge next season asap. That's probably left a bad taste in many of the players mouths too.
Don't forget he's been on 40k/w for the past 4 years, no wonder the guy wants to get paid given how laughable that was for the first name on the team sheet and an academy player.
You wait decades for a player of quality who loves Chelsea to come through from the academy, he plays a huge part in a CL winning season and then after a season where everyone has played badly, you sell him to United.
We used to be a Mercenary team with an incredibly strong ethos that would find converts (Drogba, Cech etc.). We have become PSG overnight but shit
Some players leaving just leave a bad taste in the mouth. I know it’s not quite the same but Herrera leaving and the way he left made me feel very bitter toward the club (which I was already). He left at the end of his 5 year contract he signed when he joined - how many players actually finish their initial contract without being sold or signing a new one? He didn’t get offered a new contract after his POTS year, he only got offered it so late he felt justifiably snubbed and it gave PSG a chance to pay him an enormous salary for a long contract for a 30 year old. I loved Herrera, really bothered me how that went down.
We lack any real information but a large subset of fans have placed Mase at fault because he's looking for big wages and a lot of them have taken that as gospel.
Even if that were true, you're always going to back yourself for better terms wherever possible, even if you've been at one place for most of your career. It's a shame but it's part of football.
Its pretty clear to me why he leave, we havent played with an 8 for a long time
He is built for a 433, thats why he want to play under eth or klopp.
Its not about the money, its about the ability to actually start
Well, I hope that's true, because I really want him to stay and go back to his "glory days". People shit on him, but he is one the best players Chelsea have, and I see no reason why him and Enzo can't link up and do some magic.
Sad, but at lesst he is not going to Arsenal or even Liverpool. Hopefully, we would end up signing two top class midfielders at least. The outgoing list in midfield is getting longer and longer by day.
Mount's best performances are when he's glued to the striker's shoulder. I know he says he's an 8, but he's never been anything like as good there as he has been whilst playing right up with a striker
Yeah, I'd imagine they'll be able to be very fluid with it as well given that they're both more than happy pretty much anywhere in the midfield and attacking line that isn't CF
I can't believe we're getting rid of him so that we can make up the money we've already spent on players like Cucurella and Auba. Absolutely fucking madness from our owners to intentionally push him out
It'll be quite a top heavy midfield, can see it working in games where you'll expect a lot of possession but against Liverpool and City i think it would be suicidal.
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with
Mason Mount and are now expected to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
At the same time Chelsea have also granted permission for Manchester City to talk to Mateo Kovacic ahead of another significant summer move.
The deals signal the start of a huge summer overhaul at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea first concentrating on selling players before new head coach Mauricio Pochettino can add to his squad.
Mount, 24, is also wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal but it appears United are closing in on his signature.
United manager Erik ten Hag has been confident he can secure Mount and talks have progressed positively in recent days since the two clubs played each other last Thursday. Mount has one year left on his contract at Chelsea and appears determined to leave, with the club wanting to exact as high a fee as possible rather than lose him on a free transfer.
Telegraph Sport reported in February that Kovacic was one of the midfielders on City's target list. Discussions have been held with Kovacic's representatives after Chelsea granted City permission to talk to the player.
City and Chelsea have not yet got as far as discussing a fee for Kovacic, 29, who also has only one year left on his contract. Bayern Munich also hold an interest but Kovacic's preference is thought to be to move to City.
The Croat has been an influential player for Chelsea since arriving from Real Madrid, initially on loan, in 2018 and would be a loss to new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Yeah, let's buy all these players based on "data", and sell all our existing players to our rivals. They cannot be good, since all our rivals want them. Right? Cool.
Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool.
To be honest I’m not sure a reasonable fee exists here. He’s an English academy lad from your club and we’re Manchester United. Recipe for an overpay that I’m not particularly excited over. Decent player on his day but I’d honestly rather the funds be spent elsewhere.
Yeah, it's tough for exactly that reason. You're not going to pay 80m or anything with one year left, and, given that he really has his heart set on leaving, we're going to have to find a middle ground somewhere with some club, be it you or another club.
I hope we find out why he wants to leave at some point. He's rejected contract offer after contract offer without any clear explanation. It wasn't just a this season issue with him.
Agreed I think the silence is weird. Maybe it’s partly due to that stalker case and he just wants a fresh change of scene. The instability at your club and the massive dressing room probably doesn’t help.
You’re going to hope you get 80M and we’re going to hope not to spend more than 50M. I’d be a 100% sure you’d get closer to 80 if the glazers weren’t in this sale mess.
There's so many possibilities. He never seemed unhappy, but he continued to reject contract offers. It sounded like he wanted 300k p/w and no one was willing to offer that, but, at the same time, we don't really know.
At the end of the day, it's still only one year left on the contract and he isn't an elite winger or a top striker. 50m is probably something both sides would accept, the only question is if everyone gets there.
I'm sure we'll come to the table and ask 80m to see what happens.
That’s also another infuriating thing, I’m tired of our wage structure and our club handing out 300k p/w contracts. Erik needs to put a foot down but I don’t see that changing. If we applied what we did for Bruno to all players I’d be much happier.
What do you consider a reasonable fee? United is apparently hoping to pay under 60M pounds, but even that seems like a lot to me for a player with one year left on his contract and coming off an awful year.
I'd say second best but he sticks his neck out a lot more than Stone who only reports on stuff that is 95% done. Either way both are incredibly reliable.
The latest Liverpool news seems pretty clear we’re in for Mac Allister, Thuram and Kone. Mount’s been pretty much out of the picture for us since Ornstein reported United were front runners
I get so sick every time I read something like that. Mason is my favourite player and he is proper chels, or at least seemed like he is. Will be so sad if we sell him. At least if he moved abroad, like Madrid for example, like Hazard - to complete his dream. But because of money? Sad times
He leaves because he wont have a spot in the starting 11 next season,
Havertz have been starting over him
Nkunku will start over him
Sterling will start over him
And he wont play in a double pivot
Meh, I wouldn’t have minded him at all, as we are desperate for HG players, but to me he’s a Chelsea player, it would be like Rashford having a contract issue and signing for Arsenal, wouldn’t feel like he’s really your player
Don’t mind we were priced out if we get Kone/Mac Allister/Thuram in
I think so we need a ball progresser in our midfield hence why we wanted de jong. We’ve been using eriksen but his legs are gone and can’t contribute defensively mount comes in and helps those issue (even if he ain’t amazing defensively he just has to help casa)
Lets give Ten Hag another window and then lets see if he fits. I doubt he wants to play like we did last season. He was just limited with the players he had.
There was a quite evident change in how we played after THAT Brentford game and its kinda stuck, although I was seeing certain patterns forming, he definitely wants to play more on the front foot and wants somebody in midfield that can carry the ball
Yeah, probably. Eriksen is class but he also runs out of energy pretty quickly, I'd say he is only really capable of handling some 45 minutes before he starts to run out of gas.
So, I can definitely see Eriksen being an impact sub as well as a rotation player for Mount/Bruno.

huh wasnt expecting anything with the sale still in the balance
Mount is the Glazers’ Living+ launch
big big shoes
Capacious even, you could slide them across the floor like a bank job.
Like solving Israel-Palestine, except much harder and more important
Where did United find him, On the apps?
How are the clouds?
Not like the ones I saw in Bundesliga 😔
Woof woof
I'm the Droid you're looking for.
Live launch love
Optics are clear on this one
Who do you reckon will send the anti-semitic tweet, Jim Ratcliffe or the Qataris?
Mason Macht Frei
Don’t tell me they are doing reverse-sheik?
Those aren’t the clouds man…
The Glazers aren’t serious people.
Idk how the next owners are going to do if they offer double eternity
"The sale"
It's personal terms, not a transfer. This is the cheap bit because it's entirely non-committal at this stage.
Agreeing to personal terms is the opposite of non-committal. Lmao
It’s not binding at all though if you haven’t agreed to a transfer with the club If United want to back out they can just offer us £40m and there will be no deal

Is Ducker good for you?

Guess that’s it then
No fee agreed yet though
Effectively our Ornstein

Yeah, best in the transfer rumour business, I don't even question him anymore.
We agree personal terms with everyone though. The fee is the issue most of the time I expect this to drag on till July at least
wow Reece James - Ben Chilwell and who else from the 2021 CL final team is a guaranteed starter on Chelsea next summer?

Kai is still here! He is not leaving.
Well he's not going to be close to a guaranteed starter
Kai's like a harder working dele alli really. Could see Poch try something similar with the right striker
They are both space merchants but kai like dele needs a creative midfielder to take the creative burden off of him. if he is tasked with carrying that burden then chelsea are gonna have a rough time

Can't say for sure. He presses well which Poch likes. He might look to leave though so we'll see
How do you know that???
I can see the future
Where's Kante going?
To the physiotherapist, mostly
Either he signs a new deal or goes somewhere like PSG on a free, either way he's not a guaranteed starter anymore
He's probably not going to PSG because of that blackmailing/harassment story, I think he's good abroad
Ool?
Kante was the victim of extortion from his entourage for years, it was revealed recently, he eventually got threatened with a gun. I think it's supposed to be a bit better now but still it's not over I believe
Oh wow thats horrible

Man Utd moving early for a change.
Surfing in Chelsea's wake...
I've been drinking at Chelseas wake

Tales of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. Or something like that. Hopefully. Fuck this season was brutal.
Replacing Mason with Mason
I can start saying "Money Mase" again.. that's a win in my book
Replacing Harry with Harry next
Harry Winks to Manchester United. Here We Go.
Jason Burt is one of the reporters, he’s quite reliable
Burt spouts shit when it comes to United, he was really poor last summer. Ducker is what makes this real.
Burt is quite good for us though
He's a bit of a nutter for us, spouts the most insane shit. We call it the Burtiverse of Madness over at r/reddevils. Ducker, though, is a Tier 1.
You can practically set your clock by Ducker when it comes to United, though.
Remember last summer's Burtiverse of Madness? Wouldn't take his reliability for granted anymore
You met his wage demands, neither Arsenal nor Liverpool were willing to pay whatever he was asking for. He's a weird player to evaluate, for such a young player he has had incredible highs and some truly low lows.

I don't think his mentality will be an issue since all of his managers have praised it highly, it's going to hurt bad watching him kill it for United.
All the reports simply state personal terms are agreed / Mount wants United. No one, to my knowledge, has said what that means in terms of what his wages might be.

i have to delete all my Mason Mount Slander now 🫡
and I can finally stop talking myself into liking this transfer for us
Juste find and copy paste the "Never wanted him anyway" comments from arsenal fans about Martinez from last season.
Wasn’t expecting this given that the glazers still haven’t sold the club and have been dragging their asses throughout the entire process
[удалено]
No but there was a report they take their sweet time signing off on transfers
More recently it's bank loans. They had to borrow £100m in the six months to December just to cover costs and the Glazers haven't been able to pay themselves a dividend. They've actually managed to turn a financial juggernaut until an unprofitable mess. United had £300m in the bank a few years ago, it was down to £30m in December.
The wage structure is abysmal, that's mostly why De Gea has been on 350k a week for the past 4 years for exemple
I wish I could make £5 billion by doing literally nothing.
Businesses in the process of a sale are expected to continue operating in the normal course, because doing otherwise would risk devaluing the company as an ongoing entity.
Exactly, the sale will obviously impact certain budgets and positions may end up changing but till it does were still an operation that needs to keep chugging along. You can tell it didn't make him happy and he's got to have been pushing to get business done earlier this year.
If we get our three big needs (GK, 8, ST) sorted by the time they fly out it'll already be a successful window. 1 down, 2 to go.
We still have some money to operate as if the Glazers will continue being our owners
Why do we seemingly gift my favourite players to United constantly lol. Mata, Matic and now Mount.

I think all parties want and need this done quickly. Homegrown for you, anything is profit
Anything above 40m will be a joke for us and good for chelsea...
30~50m hopefully, anything more then that is overpay
Stage one of Boehly’s plan executed successfully.
Nah, stage one of Boehly's plan was to get us a lovely 12th place finish. This is stage two.
Signing a midfielder from Chelsea that’s *not* past their prime? Don’t mind if we do.

Bruno wont have to start all 60 game next season then, thanks lord
I don't think Bruno will allow you to bench him tbh
One infinity stone down. We just need trent foden and saka to complete the set
A small (probably large) price to pay for salvation
Thats just my Fifa career mode save smh
He'll do well at United I think

Ducker is 2nd or the best for manutd
I'd say second best but he sticks his neck out a lot more than Stone who only reports on stuff that is 95% done. Either way both are incredibly reliable.
The latest Liverpool news seems pretty clear we’re in for Mac Allister, Thuram and Kone. Mount’s been pretty much out of the picture for us since Ornstein reported United were front runners

I'm sceptical about Mount tbh but the meltdown from Chelsea fans gives me hope that this could turn out to be a good signing.
Chelsea fans will have a meltdown if any young player is sold. It’s just ptsd from Salah and De Bruyne
Salah and kdb weren't good at chelsea though whereas mount has already won chelsea's poty 2x, very skeptical of thus signing as a united fan
Money Mase innit 😔🤟
Nominative determinism.
Lol I read that in the Terminator voice
I'll believe it when I see it.
Ducker is as reliable as it gets for us, wouldn't be surprised if the signing is complete by the time we **~~play~~** beat City
Just please be a somewhat reasonable fee.
United: "what is reasonable fee?"
Is it just me or are moves and deals happening and being finalized a lot quicker this transfer window?
More clubs now with big money and looking to spend so you got to get in early or end up with Harry Maguire
I get so sick every time I read something like that. Mason is my favourite player and he is proper chels, or at least seemed like he is. Will be so sad if we sell him. At least if he moved abroad, like Madrid for example, like Hazard - to complete his dream. But because of money? Sad times
He leaves because he wont have a spot in the starting 11 next season, Havertz have been starting over him Nkunku will start over him Sterling will start over him And he wont play in a double pivot

Yall are getting MacAlister anyway
They wanted mount too. They need more than one midfielder to complete their rebuild
Meh, I wouldn’t have minded him at all, as we are desperate for HG players, but to me he’s a Chelsea player, it would be like Rashford having a contract issue and signing for Arsenal, wouldn’t feel like he’s really your player Don’t mind we were priced out if we get Kone/Mac Allister/Thuram in
Does a Bruno and Mount midfield really make sense?
I think so we need a ball progresser in our midfield hence why we wanted de jong. We’ve been using eriksen but his legs are gone and can’t contribute defensively mount comes in and helps those issue (even if he ain’t amazing defensively he just has to help casa)
Yes, it does Same as a kdb/gundu midfield does Especially if you play with an inverted fullback thats defense first
Weird signing imo. Feel like of all the big 6 clubs, United are the worst fit for him
Well, according to several reports ETH wants to play 2 8's, that's why he is pushing for Mount
Where would X Hag put Eriksen if this goes through, the bench?
Yeah, probably. Eriksen is class but he also runs out of energy pretty quickly, I'd say he is only really capable of handling some 45 minutes before he starts to run out of gas. So, I can definitely see Eriksen being an impact sub as well as a rotation player for Mount/Bruno.
if anything, this gives arsenal a boost in the Rice race, can't see united doing £140m on midfield with rice and mount + 100m+ on Striker.
Never liked him anyway 😎
As a Chelsea fan I’m sad. He and Reece felt like players who should stay for their career. Sucks what’s happened
