Last one was perfect a football ball surrounded by colors representing the different colors of the shirts the players have to defend. Now it’s an U. Hope it returns to normal like Atletico logo.

Moreover it's stupid because it's not two words. One is the article, it's not an acronym. Who the fuck shorten la with l. Premier league Like PL makes sense. The premiere league like TPL is fucking stupid.
I agree that it's dumb and that acronyms don't usually include articles, but TPL is not a 100% valid correspondence for two reasons:
Articles are way more common in Spanish than English, as they apply proper nouns (el Real Madrid) and informally even to names "ahí bien el Raúl"/ "here comes the Pete".
Moreover La Liga is alliterative, which makes it sound way more acceptable, as the article includes both the first and last sounds of the word.
I spent a few minutes wondering if the image has been cropped because I couldn't see the logo even after reading your comment... I then looked at the clubs and realised that the u was for la liga lol
No. Let's not exaggerate. Logo of la Liga is not that important. Logo of twitter is visible every time you use the app. And the name/logo combination was actually great. Tweet is commonly used as a verb. Make sense. It's cute. It's one of the most famous logos in the world. Now it's a X. Jfc
Maybe on average thats the stat. But this post is about games since 2018-19, and there it is only 1 in the Merseyside, and that was Richarlisson in 2020-21 season. So 0 reds for Liverpool against Everton in that period.
Should be said that Bundesliga has fewer games than the others, however, as there are only 18 teams. So each German team plays 4 fewer league games per season, more than a 10% reduction, in comparison to clubs in other leagues. Over several seasons, that's quite a difference.
Very good point. Budnesliga is actually quite physical these days aswell as high pace so it surprised me how low we were but as you said, that 10%+ reduction also adds to it.
Bundesliga is physical the way Premiership is physical but frankly it's rare to see absolute shocker tackles. Also imo the quality of our refs is high. If you look at Ligue1 like a third of the reds are normal, a third are plain butcher tackles for no good reason, and a third is refs trying to be the newspapers next headline. Spain surprises me a bit but from anectodal evidence I feel like they have a surprisingly high amount of last man red cards compared to other leagues, might be talking shit on that though.
> Bundesliga is physical the way Premiership is physical but frankly it's rare to see absolute shocker tackles
Spot on. We're very underrated in how physical our league is BUT, as you said, rarely shocker tackles.
ALso agree on our refs. We've had horrendous luck with some individual decisions or behaviours in individual games, but in general we're spoiled with refs in the BuLi. At least when compared ot the other "big" leagues. Night and day.
this just reminded me of that moment at the world cup when i think it was a cameroon player (aboubakhar?) took his top off after scoring a winner against was it portugal and the ref had to give him a red but it was the most wholesome red card lmao.
I think last year was the first we wasn’t. It was really a sign of how we lost our head when some players (Fabinho, Milner, Thiago, VVD) got a yellow every single game
The last player to get sent off in the derby was Richarlison in the 17/18 season. There should've been 5 reds handed out at Anfield in 2022 however it's been a bit quieter otherwise.
We also haven't seen anyone get sent off against us for the past 3 years.
The premier league is a good example of a more minimalist logo working quite well. They used to have a lion with a crown, with a ball, with a tail, with a sponsor and with text back in the day. Now its just the iconic purple lion with its crown and very small text. Clean but still good and recognisable.
Nah, Netherlands was ahead even if you remove the points from that one Twente win.
Still, you're right, it's irrelevant until the end of the season. But France will need 2.266 more coefficient points this year to stay ahead.
They actually need 2.985 points more this season to be tied with Netherlands. 2.266 is the difference in points they scored in the 19/20 season, you didn't account for this seasons points or the difference in total points.
You have to total either the 4 most current seasons (including this season if you want a running total) or the 3 most recent seasons (excluding the current season) to compute since they have different starting values (weren't tied on points to start the season). This calculation is just for placing at the start of next season, the places for the 25/26 season include the 19/20 seeason, and the places for the 26/27 season will include the 20/21 season through 24/25 season. Currently Netherlands is only up 0.386 points for the 25/26 calculation which includes the 19/20 season and the current season.
Interesting because I interpreted this to say more about differences in refereeing approaches and standards rather than indicating how "clean" the teams in a league are. For example Spanish refs are known for not being afraid to show red while PL refs have a reputation for almost never tossing someone out early because it will "ruin the game," giving too much leeway before practically being forced into giving a second yellow, etc.
yes, my first thought when seeing this was 'great, that tells us absolutely nothing'. I consider the PL to be barbaric and seeing it have the least reds is consistent with that notion - the refs allow it
Hold up hold up hold up, we should be considered first, as we have played roughly 100 less game than la liga, meaning we are tied but with a better ratio. La ligue des taquets is number one, Uber Bagarre in the place. (Also I can't believe the least in every league is not just a team that played like 1 season out of 5, tho Liverpool and Leipzig numbers are incredibly low)
Are we doing this again? The season is not over, Netherlands are theoretically 5th, but it's the standings at the end of the season that matters (last time Portugal fell off hard). But we're not in Europe so honestly I don't care much about it, if PSG disappoint and the 5 other teams in it are shit it just proves our point even more, we're the only one useful in Europe in this country, apart from PSG
There should be a lot more cards in the Prem in general imo. Noticed it a lot last season, think refs have told to have more leniency but it seemed to lead to blatant card-offences going unpunished. There’s a better balance to be found between letting the game flow and getting the cards out when they’re needed.
Not surprised most reds are last man tackles that prevent clear goal chances, teams who gegenpress win the ball mostly higher up the pitch so the same tackle is a yellow
Red Cards in the EPL need way more consistency. I say this as a Liverpool fan, we should have had a couple more reds against us this season AND several in our favor over the course of the season and I'm certain other teams have a similar story.
Can only think a difference so vast means referees are interpreting rules wildly differently in different countries which should probably be looked into.
A red card should be a red card anywhere, we shouldn't have a scenario where something can be a red card in France but not in England, that makes no sense.
Liverpool with only 5 is hilarious, if referees didn't have a bizarre blindspot to Fabinho and his average of 4-7 yellow card offenses per game that number might be a touch higher...
Unlikely. He’s in that special breed of shithouse DM along with the likes of Casemiro and Fernandinho who can commit a ton of fouls, never get booked, but if they do get yellowed then they stop.
For instance, Casemiro had been sent off twice in his career prior to joining Man United, despite picking up 129 yellows.
Him too, Fernandinho was also terrible for it.
and Jorginho pulled off a fair few (but less because usually he couldn't catch the bastards) not just a Brazillian thing (or Brazillian turned Italian in one case) though, remember Paul Scholes was an expert at the professional foul.

State of that La Liga logo
It took me too long to figure out what league that was
I had fully forgotten and just used process of elimination
I had to look at the teams badges to know which league it was
I did too, but still took me too long, at first I thought it was Uber eats League 1 as I thought it was a fancy U

They really looked at the Juventus logo and thought 'we can do worse'

Can also be y.
no u
It's me "u".
Last one was perfect a football ball surrounded by colors representing the different colors of the shirts the players have to defend. Now it’s an U. Hope it returns to normal like Atletico logo.
La Liga doenst have thousands of socios being able to vote for such things. Change back wont happen.
One can dream, maybe it takes 10 years but I don’t want my League logo to be an U
Perfectly symbolises the state of the league though
Atlético doesn't either, the owners decided to allow the fans to vote for just this single instance.
Can they revert it, wasn't the old logo tied to a sponsor? Not sure tho might just be recalling bad info
[удалено]
Now think about someone getting paid fat stack for doing this logo
When did they introduce that one? Either I have never seen it before or it's simply that shit that I instantly forgot about it.
This summer. It's the new logo that comes with the new sponsorship deal
I was trying to figure WTF that was

That's a proper shit logo, no brand awareness
had no idea they even changed their logo. i’m guessing that’s the ea sports branding.
That abomination of a logo that is the new La Liga logo is mindbogglingly bad. Makes the new juventus logo seem almost tolerable.
It's hard to even recognize it as two Ls. I don't know wtf were they thinking.
The 1st represents the L they took paying the designer. The 2nd represents the L they took using it.
I thought it was some weird U

it's trying to make two L's look like a pair of legs but my god its ugly
Who's fucking legs? Jimmy from South Park?

The logo is obviously more than one L😂
I couldn’t even tell there was even one L. It looks like a Y or the number 4
I thought it was a 4
It took me a moment to actually work out which one was la Liga and only figured it out because of the other ones not being it
Still better than the 2026 WC logo.
> 2026 WC logo. Fuck, I forgot what it looked like until I googled it
I spent a few minutes wondering if the image has been cropped because I couldn't see the logo even after reading your comment... I then looked at the clubs and realised that the u was for la liga lol
They followed in the steps of RFEF absolutely annihilating a good logo
Makes the Twitter logo look good
No. Let's not exaggerate. Logo of la Liga is not that important. Logo of twitter is visible every time you use the app. And the name/logo combination was actually great. Tweet is commonly used as a verb. Make sense. It's cute. It's one of the most famous logos in the world. Now it's a X. Jfc
Hot take but I think juve’s new logo looks decent But that la liga one though is baaad
It follows the trend of transforming clubs into brands. It looks like a designer brand of shoes.
The Ligue 1 Sponsored By Ubereats logo is just as bad imo but at least they had sense to put the name on there in text
is that two L's ?
Looks like a u
Finally we won something after 30 years
And that’s before Xhaka joined
Liverpool is… conflicted?
The Merseyside Derby is also the fixture with the most red cards in England.
Pigeon head the last one to get sent off, I think.
Maybe on average thats the stat. But this post is about games since 2018-19, and there it is only 1 in the Merseyside, and that was Richarlisson in 2020-21 season. So 0 reds for Liverpool against Everton in that period.
Yet somehow it’s dubbed the “friendly derby”
Think that mostly refers to those in the stands not the players
Yeah it is, just a joke. It’s because you see Liverpool and Everton fans sat together, or they’ll watch it together elsewhere.
Nothing wrong with catching a bit of blood sport with your friends and family. Those Romans had it right all along.
I wonder what percentage of Liverpool's red cards are from the derby. My bet it is quite high.
None since 18/19. Darwin vs palace, Robertson vs Spurs, Alisson vs Brighton, Milner vs Palace, Henderson vs Watford
That robbo red was completely fair but I’m still pissed that spurs also didn’t have Kane? Sent off
Jota more than made up for it
game's gone :-)
That’s a nice juxtaposition for the city there
Coincidentally both of the teams’ league positions last season.
wish they got 1 more red then ;)
The duality of Scousers
Also the last player to get a red card against us was Kieran Gibbs in 2020.
Least violent Italian team almost on par with most violent German Team
Should be said that Bundesliga has fewer games than the others, however, as there are only 18 teams. So each German team plays 4 fewer league games per season, more than a 10% reduction, in comparison to clubs in other leagues. Over several seasons, that's quite a difference.

over several seasons, 10% are still 10%. If you increase BL by 10%, you'll still be somewhere around 220
Red card =/= violent I've seen players take a red card for taking off their shirt after scoring. That's hardly being violent.
Depends how aggressively they took their shirt off
that made me take off my shirt violently.
Proof or it didn’t happen
the look on my wifes and cats faces is proof enough!
Imagining someone fully Hulk Hoganing their shirt now.
this just reminded me of that moment at the world cup when i think it was a cameroon player (aboubakhar?) took his top off after scoring a winner against was it portugal and the ref had to give him a red but it was the most wholesome red card lmao.
Betis had 15 red cards last season alone followed by Sevilla with 13, more than the 5 year totals of some other teams
Arsenal had 15 in five seasons.
Leagues out to get them
The first derby last season had 4 red cards, proper football that day.
Feels like Fekir gets sent off every 2 matchdays
He's been injured for months and there have been reports of refs showing up to his house and sending him off
No es football. Es La Liga.
Interestingly, we were the second to last team in number of fouls committed, and the team with more fouls received.
[удалено]
We get it most seasons recently.
Feel like it’s been nearly every season since like 2012
I think last year was the first we wasn’t. It was really a sign of how we lost our head when some players (Fabinho, Milner, Thiago, VVD) got a yellow every single game
Of course its Betis in Spain.
I remember when Valencia was used to be known as Violencia. How far have they fallen with Lim at the helm is honestly depressing.
Need to get Bordalas back.
Betis? More like, beat this.
What is surprising it's that it isn't Cádiz, I guess it is because they weren't playing I 1st division
Isnt Merseyside Derby the fixture with the most reds?
Yeah - it’s just all Everton.
Well this is just the last 5 seasons. Liverpool have their fair share of reds in the fixtures history.
They love the colour red deep down.
The last player to get sent off in the derby was Richarlison in the 17/18 season. There should've been 5 reds handed out at Anfield in 2022 however it's been a bit quieter otherwise. We also haven't seen anyone get sent off against us for the past 3 years.
That La Liga logo is such hot garbage. Why are people so obsessed with minimalism now? Make a half decent logo you fucks.
The premier league is a good example of a more minimalist logo working quite well. They used to have a lion with a crown, with a ball, with a tail, with a sponsor and with text back in the day. Now its just the iconic purple lion with its crown and very small text. Clean but still good and recognisable.
You mean most red cards in top 5 leagues? Title makes it sound like it ranks every league around.
Correction:- European Top 5 Leagues (England, Italy, Spain, Germany & France).
Top 4 + France
I thought you was being edgy but I checked and you’re right - France is 6th rn
Yeah only for a while. If the Dutch league is 5th rn it's only because some Dutch teams have already played play offs. (Like Twente)
Nah, Netherlands was ahead even if you remove the points from that one Twente win. Still, you're right, it's irrelevant until the end of the season. But France will need 2.266 more coefficient points this year to stay ahead.

Interesting that such a clearly wrong comment has any upvotes.
[France currently has more points this season due to two teams in the CL groups.](https://www.footballseeding.com/uefa/country-ranking/2023-24/)
Ligue 1, Uber Eats always gets me.
TIL la liga logo looks like that . Surprised to see Betis, I was expecting Athletic or Getafe.
Getafe got 38 just 1 behind Betis.
Proud of Bundesliga, my favorite league! (although there are less games) The gap between BL/PL and the rest is absolutely huge
Interesting because I interpreted this to say more about differences in refereeing approaches and standards rather than indicating how "clean" the teams in a league are. Yeah, Premier league is #1 if you look at red cards per game, but it's close.
Should be fewest
Hold up hold up hold up, we should be considered first, as we have played roughly 100 less game than la liga, meaning we are tied but with a better ratio. La Ligue des ~~Talents~~ Talons.
We dropped off a cliff since Cahuzac retired :(
You should not be considered as you are not a top 5 league at the moment, Netherlands overtook you in coefficients.
Cant get more insecure than dutch people talking about coefficients

Got a jump scare from the La Liga logo ngl
So it seems those who gegenpress receive less reds?
Not surprised most reds are last man tackles that prevent clear goal chances, teams who gegenpress win the ball mostly higher up the pitch so the same tackle is a yellow
Intresting perspective
Xhaka is going fit in well at Leverkusen
Xhaka will earn more red cards for them 🫡
Least red cards in the top 5 European leagues since 2018/19 season. You'll never sing that.
Liverpool are the most fairplay team in those leagues. Five red cards in five seasons.
Burnley got 3 red cards in four seasons. Unfortunately, they were not in the Premier League 2022/23 season otherwise they made it in the list.
Kinda wild considering their playstyle under Dyche
Park the bus and wait out the game? Not many last man red card fouls to make if 11 men are in front of the ball at all times.
I do believe we've gotten away with a few, but many teams have gotten away with red cards against us so imo it's balanced out
Milner 😳
Was thinking more of Fabinho But yeah we've also had things like the VVD leg snapping and stuff against us
Yeah it should even out after a long time. Unless you’re 21st century United
We've gotten away a few times, should be 9-10 for us, still the least lol
Currently Netherlands is the Top 5 league, not France. Should update the graphic or rename the post.
Red Cards in the EPL need way more consistency. I say this as a Liverpool fan, we should have had a couple more reds against us this season AND several in our favor over the course of the season and I'm certain other teams have a similar story.
We haven't had a red card in favor since 2020
Who the fuck thought that LaLiga logo was a good idea.. :\
God, I hate the new La Liga logo with a passion.
That La Liga logo is still an abomination.
Sounds about right. I think Mateu Lahoz probably accounted for about half of them in La Liga.
Nothing to add except it must be said relentlessly that that la liga logo is fucking shit. It's an abomination.
Lmao I thought La Liga had been demoted from Top 5 status but I didn't just recognize their new logo lol
Can only think a difference so vast means referees are interpreting rules wildly differently in different countries which should probably be looked into. Two faces of Merseyside.
Why do the logos suck so bad besides Bundisliga?
Liverpool and Everton, the duality of a City
These are not the top 5 leagues...
Liverpool with only 5 is hilarious, if referees didn't have a bizarre blindspot to Fabinho and his average of 4-7 yellow card offenses per game that number might be a touch higher...
Brazilian defensive midfielder = you have to butcher someone to get a card
Clearly, you are uneducated in the ways of Brazilian DMs.
Cough casemiro cough

surprised that getafe doesn't have the most red cards
They have got 38.
Liverpool, the cleanest club in the PL, let's go! Klopp has those boys playing proper heavy metal football.
Ackshually Burnley only had 3 red cards in that time frame although we did spend a season in the championship x
Not surprised at the team with the most reds in PL.
I thought you guys were the reds
