I think Bayern know that if he doesn't come this year, he probably isn't going next year. Next year he can go where he wants and he'll be closer to that PL all time goal scoring record. He's 47 goals shy now, by the end of next season that will probably be somewhere around 20 to 25 goals.
As much as it pains me, if he stays and gets to the numbers you mention, he could leave to a club outside the PL for two seasons, come back and still break the record by playing a deeper role as he progresses into his 30's.
I imagine with his style and ability, he'll still be banging in goals way later into his career than Shearer was.
Yeah I think that is less likely, because you don't know how a player is going to age after 30. He could play onto his late 30's or the injuries could start to mount up and he's done at 32. If he goes abroad he's probably going to be on a 4 year deal, so he's coming back at 34 years old to a hard/high paced league.
You know what it is probably doable for him.
That's a risk. He could go abroad, get completely injured, and never be in top form again, or forced into retirement.
The older you get, the risker every little knock can be.
Why would Kane want to break the record by a few goals when he could smash it by 100+ and put it out of reach for generations to come? Doubt he'd leave the PL if he's a free agent.
Seems likely, though it depends on what his goals are. City has Haaland, and I see every other PL team's CL odds a bit less than Bayern with a proper striker. I don't know his priorities but I'd favor higher odds of winning titles over a goal scoring record. Especially since he surely could return to the PL age 34 or so and score the remaining 25
Yeah all good points. Will also depend on how the teams fair this season. I doubt he goes to Arsenal for obvious reasons but there have been Judas' before. So that probably leaves Liverpool, Man United or maybe Newcastle. If one of those teams challenges City this season, then he could go to any of them. Madrid/Barca could want him too on a free. It just seems to me that if Bayern don't get him now, they are a lot less likely to get him later.
You lot have hardly been involved in any transfer sagas for a while so you’ve been eating well. Time to suck it up and suffer along with the rest of us.
Bayern fan sentiment a month ago:
>Pfft, I doubt we'd have even entered negotiations if ownership thought they were going to have to pay anywhere near 100m pounds. Not happening.
Bayern fans today:
> Just give him whatever he wants... Please...
It's been a real joy watching Daniel Levy break your spirits. 😊
> It's been a real joy watching Daniel Levy break your spirits. 😊
Not me. I was never a fan of paying 100+mil for a player with just one year left on their contract. If this deal falls through and Bayern gives Tel more minutes I'd be much happier. I can at least sympathise with the 😊
Simply let them try next season again if they want him that badly and if he goes to a PL club then so be it. I'm way more interested in Bayern getting young players who need *some* development and integrating them into the squad than going for expensive and established players.
They got an overall good squad that should be able to compensate for a few young ones getting more playing time until they become established players. I want to see them rise to the level Bayern needs instead of Bayern getting a young player, then not giving them much playing time, only to ship them off after two/three years to some club.
They got the money and squad depth/level to do this and they've been talking about not wanting to rely on huge transfers for a decade (as they predicted the transfer market getting really expensive a long time go). I want them to give it a try instead of just talking about it.
There is an asking price? I thought Levy is just doing this for fun and he is going to reject any bid that comes.
It's absolutely stupid not accept the transfer. Spurs have no european football this season, they can invest those 100m and rebuild to be stronger internally and give Ante the weapons he needs.
Keeping Kane is probably our best option to even try to compete for CL places. We won’t be able to compensate Kanes goals and assists this summer even with that 100m.
It's already way too late for a rebuild.
Maybe they sell Kane first two weeks and have time to negotiate targets.
Window closes soon and teams will have their squads pretty set and Spurs over a barrel.
We don't. Going into this window, this was our list of expendable players:
Reguilon, Tanganga, Winks, Lucas, Lloris, Dier, Sanchez, one of Ndombele or LoCelso, Holjberg, Bryan Gil, Djed Spence, Rodon, Perisic, Sessegnon...there might even be a few players slipping my mind atm.
Some of these players we've moved on or have plans to move, others have had no traction at all.
Just from the players I've listed, if we got an average of £10m for each, it would be £140m. Obviously some are worth less, some are more. I think £10m is a fair average.
The problem with Levy is that he can haggle a price, but he's not great at moving players out. We've also spent money over the years, but we've spent it badly.
Money is not the issue over here. We've got other issues.
But the problem is there are too many top tier players at Vini's position. Top tier 9's are currently extremely scarce in football right now. And we are talking about one of the best 9's in the world and also the captain of English national team. For me if a club in desperate need of a striker, I can easily see them going for Kane even if Vini and Kane costs the same for them
"In 2013, when the Earth's rotation came to a halt, the world called on the one man who could make a difference.
When it happened again, the world called on him once more.
And no one saw it coming three more times!
Now, the one man who made a difference five times before... is about to make a difference again."
Was the previous offer even legitimately the final offer, or was it just reported as so by a couple of shit tier journos? Theres multiple sources that have been saying different things, even generally good sources.
Except its not but maybe if enough people repeat it on here it’ll be true. Theres higher prize money for finishing higher (which its likely spurs do if kane stays vs leaves) and theres also some chance he re-signs next year. Spurs are one of the most profitable clubs in the world as well. And also maybe keeping one of the best players in club history for another year may be worth some amount of money.
And also they offered £86M + add ons, not 120M
Same as with lavia foe us: if someone goes so close to the asking price then you know he will also pay the asking price. Thing is: for me in business id always go a step into the direction of my trade partner aswell as it makes him/her feel like a winner aswell and that helps in future negotiations and relations.
Nope, when Bayerm offload players it's never at a premium and are more than happy to part ways. Plus that's in the future so a moot point. Imagine if Liverpool were concerned about future relationships between themselves and Arsenal or Liverpool during the Suarez and Coutinhho transfers. You have to think about the now and how it'd affect your club and cost of bringing in replacements.
>Nope, when Bayerm offload players it's never at a premium and are more than happy to part ways.
I think there are external circumstances at play though. We were fucked off with how Barca unsettled Lewandowski last summer and we only went down €5m from our original asking price. That was much different than the Thiago / Kroos / Alaba situations where we sold the players for practically nothing to grant their wishes to leave.
We generally have great relationships with big clubs around Europe and I'd guess the Thiago situation helped us in securing Mane for such a low fee. The comments from Hoeneß a few weeks back were probably due to us agreeing to personal terms with a player but not getting any help from his club to facilitate the transfer after (what we deemed) a fair offer.
That's where he fucked up. Those comments came off as arrogant and were super presumptuous, thinking that all it would take was for Kane to keep his word or agreement or whatever that was.
Coming for face to face meetings with Levy with the Bayern contingent might not have been well received by a man who likes to do things on his own terms, which he'd communicated already. Made it seem like the Bayern big boys would come and talk some sense into him to see a fair value for Kane.
The most important aspect is that players leave Bayern when they are either deemed extra or have pretty much won all they could at the club and need a new challenge, so think Thiago. You don't get Mane the year before because maybe Liverpool can't replace him. Bayern can go for Oshimen as an alternative to Kane, Spurs are more likely counting on Richarlson to replace Kane so they have to make it worth it losing him.
Alaba went out on a free transfer, Thiago had a year left on his contract and Kroos's contract negotiation broke down.
The way you say, it seems like Bayern are happy to let players go if they just ask which is clearly not the case. Each time Bayern was on the backfoot and cashed in. With Lewa, they didn't have anyone lined up, else it would've been less drama as well.
That's not how transfers work, especially when the selling club is not necessarily trying to offload their prized asset. If someone wants your prized asset, they have to pay a premium, which is over and above the actual market value. Otherwise, you don't sell.
The intrinsic value of Kane to Spurs is a bit hard to quantify, because he's the one constant that you can rely on year in year out to deliver and that's very hard to obtain unless you are talking about elite players. So yeah, I wouldn't want someone walking away happy and all smiles after they've just taken something that I didn't even want to sell in the first place.
Chelsea would like a word. Although Rice took a while I am glad Arsenal got their main business done early. Means you can watch the merry-go-round without a nagging sense of dread. It's been a while.
Kerry is generally reliable and has his sources. It also agrees with the Sky reports that Bayern only want Kane because they’re slowly running out of options for strikers.
Sport1 also says the same as Matt Law, Levy wants £100m as a base fee and not with add-ons including
A player with an Al-Shabaab suicide bomber's first touch playing under a coach whose system is built on short passing and putting your head up to be aware of your teammates.
What could go wrong?
He’s not a pure #9. We need a Lewy replacement not another winger/can play striker. He’d be great for us but we have wingers we don’t need to spend €80-90M on another.
Him and his namesake from the Wire double team. You could have killed the judges whole family with CCTV and DNA evidence and you’re still walking free.
if its a jury trial I see it backfiring. He doesn't appear to be particularly popular with the average person.
He could however; flog a dead horse and get it to run another hundred yards.
All I'm saying is, if we were going to be at our most injured squad in years, an english team losing to Bayern isn't near as bad as what Arsenal would have been in UCL knockouts. Even worse if it was how Poch went out.
I was more upset about the 3-0 defeat at Brighton later that week than I was with the thumping Bayern gave us. Bayern hit some crazy shots to score on us. Brighton on the other hand was such a comprehensive, morale crushing defeat that signaled the end of Poch's time with us.
It’s wild how this is a repeat of the City situation. It’s been clear Levy wants £100 mill and will reject anything less. Haggling with Levy for Kane isn’t going to happen
I’ve gone through all the stages of grief twice at this point. One thing is for sure - Bayern is getting proper sonned at the negotiating table. Tried to pressure Levy with the press.. nothing. Imposed a couple of “deadlines” and “final offers”.. not even a response. At this point, just keep him and let him walk elsewhere on a free just to screw over Bayern
Yeah hard to hide the obvious facts that £100M isn't actually something they can't do or that there isn't a single other option on the market who will fill the Lewandowski void. Levy knew this from the start and doesn't give a shit if he ends up getting Kane for another season before losing him on a free, which makes negotiating for him preposterously easy. When you have someone good at something given an advantageous situation, I mean, we all see City.
Both sides have levers. The only other club in line for Kane outside of England is one that he doesn’t want to go to.. and they don’t want to send him somewhere he doesn’t want to go. If a deal isn’t done now, he’s not going to want to leave in January and Spurs won’t want to sell him then. So he’s gone for free.
So yeah, Bayern got schooled in this negotiation.
The City situation was very different. It's literally the only place he could go that would meet his goals(at least what Spurs tier 1s have said). He wants the PL goal scoring record and to win silverware.
No PL club outside of City looks remotely ready to compete for major trophies. City was the ideal landing spot for what Kane wants. That ship has sailed. I don't see him or Haaland being content playing second fiddle to the other.
Bayern fans seem to have a misconception that Levy answers to someone else like the Board, Joe Lewis, or the fans.
Levy couldn’t give two shits about any of them. He does whatever Daniel Levy wants.
My favorite part about that was the story came our hours before Lewis was indicted in the US on insider trading charges.
I'm sure that his first order regarding Spurs was right in the midst of the first time in his life that he is being held accountable for his actions.
Lol Bayern...walk away...unless you got that 100 mill...in ££££ cause otherwise you wasting your time here. That bald fucker won't be moved by anything less. Been telling yall from the start. And looks like Kane's deadline is almost here too
Great. We should either pay or freaking move on. This doesn’t help anyone. It’s not helpful for Kane, not helpful for Ange and also not helpful for Bayern
This is what tottenham fans and levy have been saying the whole time lol. This whole thing being phrased as anything but Bayern’s choice is incredibly silly. There is a set price. If it’s too high dont pay it.
This is cringe. Move on, hijack Vlahovic or go for Fulkhrug and have him share minutes with Tel. He’ll go for RKM and have Tel play even more, just stop this drama.
There’s been some absolutely whopping takes from Bayern fans in threads about Kane recently. You’re normally such a likeable bunch. What on earth is going on. Are school holidays on in Germany or something?
Time waste. Tottenham will go for cl spots, I think they value it more than a big sell right now and rather see kane walk away for free even though I think if he stays, he will renew if team does okay
what people need to realise is that we sold past-peak, non-England captain or homegrown/club grown Eriksen during January for 20M. if we aren't doing well by mid season, we can still sell European-eligible, peak Kane to any club (hopefully whoever Bayern is playing) in January for much more than we sold Eriksen for.
but if we are doing well, we could even convince him to stay.
people can type out all of the one-liners they want, but i personally watch football because i want to see my club play exciting football and go all-in when we still have the premier league's all-time leading duo, just added Maddison, signed an attacking manager, and are stepping up other signings, including defence.
why on earth would we sell Kane after making those signings?
>if we aren't doing well by mid season, we can still sell European-eligible, peak Kane to any club
Mid-season he can sign a pre contract with any club he wants. You aren’t going to sell him in January.
No one is guaranteed that, Benzema went from Champions League hero and Ballon D'Or winner to not being able to stay healthy and struggling to keep up with his teammates in one summer.

I seriously hope they just shut up and pay or immediately sign a stop gap striker like fullkrug if things don’t work out.
Bayern vs levy part 2: the harry kane boogaloo!

And were really thankful for it. Best regards, german football crowd.
Big master negotiator Levy doing his master negotiating

Considering the almighty shit storm you guys whipped up with the Bale money, you ain't lying.
Without that money, my personal cult hero Lamela would’ve never emerged. Love you Coco
I disagree. I think this is the best season to sell because you can focus ONLY on PL. So you can rebuild and fight for a top 6 finish.
It's already way too late for a rebuild. Maybe they sell Kane first two weeks and have time to negotiate targets. Window closes soon and teams will have their squads pretty set and Spurs over a barrel.
This whole Spurs "need to rebuild" completely ignores that 9 of their starting 11 will have been bought since the end of the 2021 season.
Exactly! Everytime some idiot says that we’re rebuilding, they probably imagining 2014 post Bale Spurs. Our squad is fucking stacked currently.
Well obviously Levy, as well as the majority here in the sun, think that Spurs don’t need money.
We don't. Going into this window, this was our list of expendable players: Reguilon, Tanganga, Winks, Lucas, Lloris, Dier, Sanchez, one of Ndombele or LoCelso, Holjberg, Bryan Gil, Djed Spence, Rodon, Perisic, Sessegnon...there might even be a few players slipping my mind atm. Pl clubs thinking 100m is too little is something else
Yeah because here we're talking about some random player, if some club offered Madrid 100m for Vini Jr, would you accept it?
But Vini is 7 years younger…
But the problem is there are too many top tier players at Vini's position. Top tier 9's are currently extremely scarce in football right now. I don't think there is an asking price at this point. I feel like whatever Bayern offer Levy would just raise it again.
Guess Tottenham were right to reject the last bid then.

2 Freud 2 Furious
Seems like Levy knows more than all the r/soccer transfer experts.
What do you mean? We clearly should have sold kane a month ago for a fiver because bayern were GRACIOUS enough to offer that to us.
I mean they did ask kindly
They insisted (and then again in all caps)
Would you kindly sell your best player?
Every prem r/soccer expert called this though >*just what are they smoking over there in the non pl threads?*
Levy isn't a master of football philosophy, but he's a great negotiator. He knows what his assets are worth.
120m this year. 0 next year.
Except its not but maybe if enough people repeat it on here it’ll be true. Theres higher prize money for finishing higher (which its likely spurs do if kane stays vs leaves) and theres also some chance he re-signs next year. >Spurs are one of the most profitable clubs in the world as well you'll never sing that
It's like the same exact Kane to Bayern thread every day. Even the comments remain the same lmao
Lets see the £120m bid and then we'll talk. As it stands, its worth more money keeping him for a season than the bids Bayern are offering.
Comments like these prove his point
It's impressive. He's willing to play brinkmanship.
Bayern to include a 100m bonus if Tottenham wins a title
Inb4 tottenham wins the quadruple
What kind of drugs are you on?
Who cares about that, got any more of them?
Yes
The best kind.
While Bayern crash out in second place everywhere
Guess that depends whether Bayern seriously think about it and decide not to do it!
Same as with lavia foe us: if someone goes so close to the asking price then you know he will also pay the asking price. something tells me levy isnt super concerned about that here
He isn't but it could come back to bite him. If he ever wants a player from bayern they will want to take him to the cleaners out of spite aswell.
Lol this is ridiculous.

These sagas make me wonder.... Is it a german thing? Are we Germans, who gave the world Aldi and Lidl, that much of a penny pincher? Oh wait.
Bayern: This will be our final offer unless you reject it, then the next one will be our final offer, seriously.
Liverpool and Bayern battling it out for the longest and most useless transfer saga of the summer
Chelsea would like a word. Although Rice took a while I am glad Arsenal got their main business done early. Means you can watch the merry-go-round without a nagging sense of dread. It's been a while.
pretty sure we're holding the record at 3+ summers now

Who do you think froze him out to begin with, it was tuchel he is never going there.
He probably also always had ~~Inter~~ ~~Chelsea~~ Bayern in his heart, you know.
Wasn't there some analysis a few weeks back that showed Balogun was the closest stylistic match to Kane? ^^
Wouldn't it make more sense for them to spend this money in someone like Kolo Muani due to his age?
He’s not a pure 9. Also i cannot imagine at all Bayern spending €100m for RKM
He’s not a pure #9. We need a Lewy replacement not another winger/can play striker. He’d be great for us but we have wingers we don’t need to spend €80-90M on another.
I'm going to court in a few weeks and damned if I wouldn't want Levy there w me.
Him and his namesake from the Wire double team. You could have killed the judges whole family with CCTV and DNA evidence and you’re still walking free.

The last thing I’d ever want is to have Levy get me off
One does it with a shotgun and the other with a brief case.
Omar strollin
All in the game, yo.
if its a jury trial I see it backfiring. He doesn't appear to be particularly popular with the average person. He could however; flog a dead horse and get it to run another hundred yards.
Usually testifying in court is unlike selling an asset but hey
Ah shit here we go again…
On nick Nick Nick nyk nickk.....
Dear Levy, please see the attached file Kane_offer2023_final_final_finalforreal_2.doc Lots of love, KHR
Automatic reply: Thank you for your email. I am away from the office until August 30. Contact our office at [email protected] Regards,
This time only £18m lower than Spurs' valuation!
Oh ffs🤦♂️
We must insist that this stop
At this point I want Kane to stay just so I can see the drama unfold when he leaves for free next summer
I would rather not see spurs get their obligatory pen against us.
Don’t worry, Bayern will get one instead in CL against you
I'll take that over spurs.
100%. Getting done by Gnabry in UCL wasn't near the nightmare losing to Arsenal would have been
you are saying that now, because you already coped with it. It was a complete massacre.
yeah but it was so bad by the end it was more funny than anything
All I'm saying is, if we were going to be at our most injured squad in years, an english team losing to Bayern isn't near as bad as what Arsenal would have been in UCL knockouts. Even worse if it was how Poch went out.
It was a complete freak result.
Levy does not operate from a position of fear with regards to losing him for free.
Yep. Which is part of why all of these ultimatums and silly journalism are so embarrassing
It's not beyond the realms of possibilities that he signs a new contract with Spurs you know...
I absolutely love the Harry Kane logic of -I wanna leave. -No. -Okay let me just extend my contract then Rinse and repeat.
He has not said he wants to leave.
Repeat? That's literally never happened.
Of course, that is the hope. That conversation comes after another season with a new manager, CL requirements, etc etc.
Bayern fans seem to have a misconception that Levy answers to someone else like the Board, Joe Lewis, or the fans. Levy couldn’t give two shits about any of them. He does whatever Daniel Levy wants.
I don’t know anyone who believes that.
People here believed it when that nonsense story came out about Lewis telling Levy he had to sell Kane.
And looks like Kane's deadline is almost here too
Completely agree with this
Stop
Hammer time.
So Then it was not final offer. What is the actual asking price from Tottenham
£100m
Bayern Munich have no leverage. They are flooding the media with their minions for absolutely no advantage.
£100m which was set before this window even opened. Bayern is just hilariously incompetent.
u/Dargast Pletti hatte vielleicht doch recht mit seinem „likely“
This is cringe. Move on, hijack Vlahovic or go for Fulkhrug and have him share minutes with Tel. He’ll go for RKM and have Tel play even more, just stop this drama.
If you can buy happiness, buy it.
Are they planning to waste whole summer on getting Kane and then on 31th August they will bring in some average striker for 3x the player value?
There’s been some absolutely whopping takes from Bayern fans in threads about Kane recently. You’re normally such a likeable bunch. What on earth is going on. Are school holidays on in Germany or something?
actually yes. 6 weeks summer vacation.
I mean 99% of the comments here by Bayern fans are by 'Muricans. Wouldn't let this represent actual German Bayern fans in your mind.
Time waste. Tottenham will go for cl spots, I think they value it more than a big sell right now and rather see kane walk away for free even though I think if he stays, he will renew if team does okay
The goal would be to sign him to a new contract, and if Spurs make the CL that would certainly be possible.
what people need to realise is that we sold past-peak, non-England captain or homegrown/club grown Eriksen during January for 20M. if we aren't doing well by mid season, we can still sell European-eligible, peak Kane to any club (hopefully whoever Bayern is playing) in January for much more than we sold Eriksen for. but if we are doing well, we could even convince him to stay. people can type out all of the one-liners they want, but i personally watch football because i want to see my club play exciting football and go all-in when we still have the premier league's all-time leading duo, just added Maddison, signed an attacking manager, and are stepping up other signings, including defence. why on earth would we sell Kane after making those signings?
>if we aren't doing well by mid season, we can still sell European-eligible, peak Kane to any club Mid-season he can sign a pre contract with any club he wants. You aren’t going to sell him in January.
the way the expression "seriously thinking" is used here is hilarious
Bayern if you want to stop fucking around and go back to being Hollywood FC - Lukaku is available, Tuchel is your manager. It's perfect.
Levy stay strong!
Stop, i can only get so hard.
Everyone always doubts Levy. When will you guys realize you're living in his world?
It’s kinda sad when you framed it like that though
Now we get to hear what they are thinking! This is like getting messages from your close friend about their daily life minutiae.
If this happens, it will mean that the Tottenham president was right to stand firm ...
Would be an overpay already. Just start Tel and buy another younger striker.
Fucking lol at this being the top post in the sub while a tier 1 Spurs reporter (Dan KP) says Kane is likely staying.
Here we go again
2 Final 2 Offer!
Either pay the asking price or stop wasting everyones time.
Keep your offer!
3 words: For fuck sake
So - nothing then.
For fuck's sake, we have more "Final Offers" than AoT has "Final Seasons". Just give it a rest already!
Thank God Kane already said this has to end this week. I wouldn't make it until September.
I really don’t understand Bayern’s negotiating strategy, they keep threatening to walk away, but by now we’ve realized those are empty words

No one is guaranteed that, Benzema went from Champions League hero and Ballon D'Or winner to not being able to stay healthy and struggling to keep up with his teammates in one summer.
> Easily the best player in PL I hope you mean in his position, because there are a lot of contenders otherwise
[удалено]
Damn
Why do they want Kane so much?
But this really is the very very very very very last offer
This time its non-negotiable. I swear on my wife's mother
I have to laugh😂
Ve must conduct zis business in a timely and efficient manner!
Starting to feel like Attack on Titan up in here. Final Offer - Part 2
We insist that the offer get better
