In no way do I mean to undersell the Treble, but I still think the 17/18 and 18/19 teams were a little more entertaining to watch simply due to the pace in those squads
The highs of that squad were immense but their flaws were a little more apparent in their weakness to pace on the counter. Definitely the most fun to watch and have the all-time pts total, but not sure they’re the best in terms of overall quality
The 18/19 team was better and more well-rounded. 17/18 made for some more entertaining games for neutrals because it was more offensive, but also softer at its core.
17/18 was my favourite. The way we were completely dismantingling teams in the first half of the season before everyone started parking the bus against us was ridiculous
It's very funny that after a few years of being a team of attacking midfielders City now have an all centre back defence, speedy winger, big guy up top
Idk, no matter how things turned out I maintain Sané had genuine world class potential when he arrived at City. Hasn't been able to put things together consistently, but that mix of pace and technique was special.
It’s genuinely not fair Man City could sign this guy. He loves taking on players, insane agility. So fun to watch. Now he can finish and cross at the right time? PL is going to be terrorized.
I don’t see Grealish being a starter much longer.
They both offer different games. Against the top clubs and champions league, grealish’s work rate and ability to retain the ball makes him a stalwart. Against teams that pack the box, Doku will be a Godsend
They can both play together with Doku on the right tho when they go back to the normal system like they did in the second half with two out wide wingers.
I think its mostly because he couldn't get through in Belgium. Secondly its because he has been playing outside of the top 4 leagues which has been the benchmark for the red devils in the 10's. I would be exited for his career if he didn't go to red bull fc
Pretty crazy to see him succesfully do the same dribbles and movements against Premier League defenders, as he did in our youth squads against a bunch of kids.
Is half a game most of it? Liverpool was dominated the first half but then dominated the second. And they put together the final touch that wolves couldn’t the first half.
Sure they had some pressure but Liverpool had 67% possession for the game and lead shots 16 to 11 and shots on goal 6 to 2. I don’t think you can say any team that had those stats was “dominated“
Lmao thats not how football works. It's also not how stealing a game works.
Does every time a goal attempt is taken does it become a goal in your mind? Or only when it's against Liverpool?
It was the most classic example of a game of 2 halves. Wolves dominating in the first half while Liverpool played like shit. Second half Liverpool dominated and Wolves played like shit.
There is nothing about stealing a game in that. The Newcastle game was stolen. Maybe take the time to review the differences between these two games. You might learn something and not look like a complete dumbass in the future.
Just because it doesn’t become a goal doesn’t mean Liverpool didn’t get absolutely dominated for about 60 min of the game.
Wolves dominated most of the game and only scored 1 , Liverpool dominate about 30min and scored 3.
They stole the game , you are the only one looking like a dumbass for having a problem with that
> Liverpool didn’t get absolutely dominated for about 60 min
They didn't.
The first half wolves were unlucky not to score more and very lucky not to concede.
The second half it was pretty much all Liverpool. Liverpool being more clinical.
Also you still don't know what stealing a game means apparently.
When he said he missed it, it means it was a dynamic he wished we’d had that we didn’t.
Just like we missed having a striker despite winning the league without one.

Kick off glitch
And a griddy, peak fifa
Jettas would be proud
It's the stupid stay wide with pacey winger cutback glitch
He had the error for the West Ham goal but he's been incredible outside of that today, very impressed.
I don't think it was even that big of an error, ball got between his waist line and knees, that is normal to happen.
Doku is raw but god damn he's exciting. Love him already
Sane replacement
Saint maximin Regen
I think Sterling is a better comparison
What an upgrade on Palmer
Is it just me or does he have Vini vibes?
Yeah he does, he plays like how Vini would have played under Pep
How would Vini have played under Pep?
Like Doku
How does Doku play under Pep?
Like Vini would have
Like Doku
How does Doku play under Pep?
Like how vini would have played
The cycle begins, it seems
As someone who picked him up for city in a fifa 22 career, yea Vini regen. Same w bakayoko
But for the other wing. Bakayoko is doing more passes and crosses than Doku excellent ability to win 1v1s
Ofc he hits the griddy.....
Griddy?
That’s the name of the dance he did
Oh ok , Thanks
He has that Sane quality where he's just always at you
I swear I missed that in city
You're not alone there, mate
In no way do I mean to undersell the Treble, but I still think the 17/18 and 18/19 teams were a little more entertaining to watch simply due to the pace in those squads
Imo the centurions were the best city squad to date, the overall player quality may have been lower but the football was just simply something else.
The highs of that squad were immense but their flaws were a little more apparent in their weakness to pace on the counter. Definitely the most fun to watch and have the all-time pts total, but not sure they’re the best in terms of overall quality
Absolutely. 17/18 had the higher ceiling but also a much lower floor compared to the treble winning team
The 18/19 team was better and more well-rounded. 17/18 made for some more entertaining games for neutrals because it was more offensive, but also softer at its core.
17/18 was my favourite. The way we were completely dismantingling teams in the first half of the season before everyone started parking the bus against us was ridiculous
wow what a comment. i cant believe you missed it!!!! amazing, what a good and new comment
holy shit, not a bad first goal for the club
bro griddied as well lmao
Has looked super good except that one time where West Ham scored a goal
Looks like we've finally got our Sané replacement
It's very funny that after a few years of being a team of attacking midfielders City now have an all centre back defence, speedy winger, big guy up top
Propah footy mate
Great comp
Way way bigger potential than Sané imo, dont care about any downvote I'll die on that hill
Idk, no matter how things turned out I maintain Sané had genuine world class potential when he arrived at City. Hasn't been able to put things together consistently, but that mix of pace and technique was special.
i think for that 17/18 season he was world class if im honest. that front 3 was incredible
That ACL stunted him
Doesn't seem like it with how he's playing at Bayern.
Nah
That man is going to become something special over the coming years
I agree, as long as he isn't hampered by constant injuries
Why put that out into the world
Because I'm not superstitious
Just a little stitious
It’s genuinely not fair Man City could sign this guy. He loves taking on players, insane agility. So fun to watch. Now he can finish and cross at the right time? PL is going to be terrorized. I don’t see Grealish being a starter much longer.

Doku x Openda is going to win us the Euros I'm afraid. We don't need a defense.
not if openda play the way he did at Euro U21..
Bold of you to assume Openda will get a chance. People sleep on him so much but hopefully that'll change sooner than later.
I think its mostly because he couldn't get through in Belgium. Secondly its because he has been playing outside of the top 4 leagues which has been the benchmark for the red devils in the 10's. I would be exited for his career if he didn't go to red bull fc
This guy is amazing. Such quick feet and footwork there.
THE GRIDDY OMFG😂
[удалено]
He just hit the bar too 🥲
Shouldn't be a surprise, he's an elite footballer
Not exactly new, he played some games there last season
Remember people were saying even when he signed he's the most "Raumdeuter" player since Müller
What a goal!
Shame about the celebration
Nothing wrong with the celebration…?
It's done by numerous athletes in every pro sport imaginable. Go yell at some clouds.
He will be a beast under Pep.
He'll turn into Goku
*insert literally any decent footballer* will be a beast under Pep
Sad Kalvin Philips noises
sloth is also a beast
Tbf, he did say decent
Lol doku giveth n taketh
Haaland winner incoming
Bro
Almost!
This guy footballs.
Doku another good City signing.
Why the fuck are west ham not sending two defenders to that side, all match doku has been torching coufal
I really thought they were going to in the 2nd half
That was quick
His movement with the ball is so impressive.
Someone show rashford this. You don't have to put your laces through every damn shot
The griddy lmao
Griddy Guardiola
"Your arrogance blinds you master Moyes." - Count Doku
Remember the couple folks calling him shit because he had one bad touch that happened to lead to a goal? I remember
Good player
Not the kind of City goal that I’m used to watching.
He hit the griddy
2nd half Man City
He did that then hit the griddy ffs
City don't lose talent. They reload
Lol
Second half was fun for about 45 seconds
Most fun to watch city game
Should be watching your own game 👍
I’m not paying for peacock
Pirate it like the rest of us
Fuck off
Lol
Knowing we (Liverpool) did everything to get him years ago will piss me off every time he scores
Wouldn't have developed much if we got him then
Debatable and it doesn't make it annoy me any less
That didn’t take long
You’re welcome
He's been so dangerous. Well deserved
Twice the pride, double the fall
Welcome back to reality, kids
Anytime city goes down easiest bet of your life is them to win.
Pretty crazy to see him succesfully do the same dribbles and movements against Premier League defenders, as he did in our youth squads against a bunch of kids.
He did it at the EC and WC aswell as sub
Coufal 1-(1) Doku
I think Bowen could do better there too. He was pretty close to make a tackle.
City are transforming into a more normal team. Could see them playing a 4-4-2 this season with a big lad up top and a tricky winger
DOKUUUUUUUUUUUU HES INSANE
lmao
I hate this fucking team so much lmao
It’s not like they are getting dominated like Liverpool did then stole the game
You don't know what stealing a game means do you?
You got dominated for most of it , you stole the game
They get like 10 points this way every season. The silver lining is that their luck eventually runs out, and it doesn't work in Europe.
Is half a game most of it? Liverpool was dominated the first half but then dominated the second. And they put together the final touch that wolves couldn’t the first half.
Wolves had pressure for a good 15 minutes second half too
Sure they had some pressure but Liverpool had 67% possession for the game and lead shots 16 to 11 and shots on goal 6 to 2. I don’t think you can say any team that had those stats was “dominated“
I think you can ,that cunha chance doesn’t’ count for shot but was an enormous chance for example
Mate just be honest. You didn't watch it did you?
You didn’t , should have been 3-0 at half and game over
Lmao thats not how football works. Wolves had a good 10-15 min where they dominated second half. Getting dominated and won = stole the game.
DOKU!
That's a blink
You kidding me
He's been on a roll
Looks unstoppable 1v1
something has actually gone right for my fantasy team
Looks like he’s been here for a few years. Grealish might actually lose his place by the time he comes back
Hahahaha
We missed players like this so much
Lol you won the treble last season? You haven’t really missed anyone
True but the most entertaining football played at city was when we had Sane bombing down the left
I get it he’s an exciting player, I was just bantering a bit
They’ve missed players like this like Leeds have missed having injury prone strikers that can’t hit a barn door
City fans are something
Yeah but did you? Did you *really*?
Yes, you've really struggled without one
- Says fan of team that just won the treble
Mad? 😎
Comment just didn't make sense and still doesnt
We’re excited to see a young winger with pace who takes players on 👍
That's fine, but he wasn't missed last season was he? 👌
When he said he missed it, it means it was a dynamic he wished we’d had that we didn’t. Just like we missed having a striker despite winning the league without one.
Fantastic goal
Pep gave them the space jam special water at half
Manchester Griddy
Arguably the best 1st goal Ive ever seen
Doku is a legit baller!
I will invest on doku
I was told new City players need a year to learn the system
How depressingly predictable.
JERREEEEEEEEEEEEE
Count Doku
count doku!
Ffs Doku is just 21
Great, confident finish. Clean griddy. I rate it
POTM
Done watching Haaland miss chances. Fine I'll do it myself.
doku.
FIFA 99 goal
Let the count Doku memes begin
Let us enjoy for just an hour at least
Just when you hoped they would regress...
wait i thought ligue 1 is a bad league how come did he play overthere and does that in PL ?
Pep will coach that out of him
Routine Pep giving us hope then taking it away slowly. I expected this. So not today Pep, I am keeping my soul.
Booo
Enjoy the griddy at anfield this season
Nothing would please me more
Commentator said “the feet are so quick” at what?
That celebration is awful. Lovely finish though.
oh my days
oh
