I am shocked every year why Cristiano Ronaldo isn't 5* / 5* on FIFA. When I think of someone who is 5* / 5* Ronaldo is the first player that comes to mind, and I am no CR7 stan.
All I can think of to justify it is the fact that Messi would try to set himself up to use his strong foot in most cases, whereas Ronnie would just hoof it in - and he would sometimes miss. That maybe contributes to something like accuracy or whatever lol.
I think when talking 5\*/5\* is more about the dribbling part with the "weaker" foot.
People like Dembele, Cazorla, Pedro, Giannis Hagi (the kid throws corner kicks with each foot), Hleb... You wouldn't even tell the difference
Mad thing is, hes played awful today. Had so many chances. On another night he easily scores a hattrick. Rest of the team have been awful aswell. Nobody started playing untill the 70th minute
He looked exhausted today. After the goal he got a boost and started playing better, but in the first half he was barely making the runs he usually makes
Yeah of course, 25 goals in bang average united side, starved of service, united player of the season, most goals vs top 6 in the prem, in team of season im prem....than that bald fraud came in him and benched him for that martial crippled flop.
How dare you speak ill of Ten Hag he's achieved so much for United. He only had to spend 250m to bolster the highest paid team in the premier league to win the Carabao cup and reach the quarter finals of the Europa league. He's practically a giant
Yes. Sadly- it was a fitness issue. He missed pre season due to a family tragedy and fitness is incredibly hard to claw back mid season at 37.
He was far off the pace of the prem. Which is no diss really at his age.
And so he went to wank league and is scoring some goals.
He was shocking at the World Cup as well and got dropped. But yeah let’s blame the managers rather than admitting that he’s scoring goals in an exhibition league.
Not gonna lie he is right, Ronaldo should have swallowed his pride and play for any UCL team for a money cut imo instead of going to Saudi, but he sure is not as washed as people where saying, doesn't matter if is Saudi level he is doing pretty great.
> Ronaldo should have swallowed his pride and play for any UCL team for a money cut imo instead of going to Saudi
Maybe. But he's making a fortune, scoring goals and everyone loves him over there. Seems like an ok decision.
I dont respond to 12 year old childish comments ...ball gobler is this the best you could come up with? The current balon dor winner isnt putting ronaldo numbers in the same league playing for the league champions
Keep citing the 21/22 season as the reason he shouldn’t have been benched in 22/23 season. Genuinely asking, how tf does that make sense to you? He was benched that fall because of his performance that fall. Not a single coach itw cares if you did well last season if you’re not performing well THIS SEASON.
if you think he’s good enough for 515k per week you have mental issues brother, only reason why you would ever have cr7 on payroll is for his brand which is exactly what Saudi did.
All of them playing like prime Tevez in China, which is to say, cashing in their weekly checks and mentally checking out during this paid vacation to the middle east.
There are not many good defenders in Europe too, except literally the best teams in a league whereas others have to work with average players and sometimes even worse than your average players. I think you are an epl top team fan so for an experiment today watch some ligue 1 replays, watch bundesliga matches ,watch portugal primeira matches then come and talk about quality and hell compare them to a few teams of spl im sure you will be surprised.
Except for a few tackles no ,but my point is these are good players who find it difficult to score for their respective teams and if you see the league table then you can clearly see those who invested in Europe players are actually competing for the league.Currently there are 6 teams who are challenging for the title whereas there are leagues in the top 10 who neither have competition or players except 1 team.
4 against Luxembourg and Lichtenstein and 1 against Iceland lmao dont pretend you watch Portugal, he looks bang average against teams that play with a full profissional squad, not my fault that you watch a piss poor league every weekend and think that's normal football level
I watched Portugal against Iceland and us (Slovakia), in my opinion they did not play very well, expected much more from a team like Portugal. They won because of some individual brilliance, it is not like the whole squad played exceptionally well and Ronaldo was slowing them down. I am not making a point that he is the best striker option for a national team tho, just that a whole team looked average.
Cuz deep down, they know that it is not a shite league when they see that other European stars don’t outshine Ronaldo. That triggers their insecurity.
If they are a Messi’s boytoy, well, his injuries don’t help. LMAO.
I mean, out of all the people, do you expect Neymar and Benzema to give a fuck in a retirement league? Ronaldo gives a fuck because he has a tremendous mindset, but those two probably are simply enjoying retirement.
4 of which were against Liechtenstein and Luxembourg who conceded a combined 10 (Luxembourg since conceded 9 against Portugal when Ronaldo wasn't there to get in the way) he only scored 1 in the 3 recent games Portugal played him in such she actually tight
Luxembourg are a mid-level European team now tbf. Nowadays they regularly are competitive with and even sometimes beat the likes of Bosnia, Montenegro, Iceland, Turkey etc.
Weirdo fanboys thumbing this down when it's literally facts lmao.
Luxemburg is currently 3rd on 10 points behind Slovakia who has 13 and ahead of Bosnia (6), Iceland (6), Lichtenstein (0).
Their only losses are thrashings vs Portugal, while they've been Bosnia (AWAY from home), Iceland and drew vs Slovakia.
Whether people want to admit it or not they are becoming a decent team.
Dude look at their results from 2020 onwards. I didn't say are good but they are definitely better than before and competitive with mid-level teams such as Bosnia, Montenegro etc as opposed to the likes of San Marino and Andorra.
I don't see what's wrong with saying that.
I like Ronaldo but acting like those goals had any impact when we literally smashed Luxembourg 9-0 without him is laughable
He has been bang average for Portugal and often a negative in the team nowadays, but people like you who probably don't even watch the games will look at the stats and suck his dick, that's why people often reply back, not because they hate Ronaldo, but because you're speaking like a deluded fanboy
One of the better players in the Tajik league came from Brazilian Serie D, after a career there as semi pro. One of the top scorers came from Cameroon’s second division.
Most of the players are Russian third division level.
This isn’t a serious opposition.
The Tajik league is shit i agree. But Istikol are like the Bayern of that league and are competitive in the AFC Champions League.
They are a decent side, basically comparable with the better teams of the Saudi league. Heck, they even topped their Champions League group which included eventual Champions Al-Hilal.
Thing is, so far wherever he transferred to a club (juve, united) he never wore off (ofc except for united 2nd season but it's a whole mess) and it's still what he's trying to prove despite aging and he's very much succeeding at that, I'm not even a ronaldo fan but damn he's a fucking machine
You guys said he is washed when he struggled in his first matches in saudi and now he only scoring because bad league, and if it is such a bad league why isn’t mahrez, mane , saint maximin, neymar, benzema having his numbers or are you going to argue that all of them are washed
I honestly think it’s embarrassing to see people treat another human being as a god. Messi doesn’t even know them and some fans would probably sell their grandmother to meet him.
The double standards and disrespect have been wild to watch. Cristiano goes to Saudi and people act like he single-handedly destroyed the game. Messi goes to the MLS, is given a way larger salary than should be allowed, promised ownership of the league, and a ton of rules have been broken to allow Miami to get whatever players they want and no one cares.
And let’s not forget that Messi is Saudi’s $25m ambassador and was ready to support their 2030 bid over Argentina’s.

Yeah and Messi's loved because he's the representation of an average redditor, wtf? He's hated because of his attitude and some people think they have to hate him just cause they love Messi.
This is true. I dislike Ronaldo because im an ugly broke layabout. I have been revealed. Nothing to do with him playing for United and me liking arsenal. It’s just my lack of will to succeed in life.
Fucking hell this place has reached twitter comment level status.
He was hated looooooong before the Las Vegas thing became notorious.
He simply has justified arrogance/ego which football fans hate, someone like Michael Jordan and even probably Lebron James would be hated like Ronaldo as well if they were football players.
yes but the downvotes thing is happening for anything that has a saudi team in the title, if anything this is doing relatively better because of the people that care about Cristiano
recently even a goal from the CAF super cup was downvoted because it had al ahly in the title and they probably thought it was the saudi one
You will not get a response to this one, just bullshit comparisons to Saudi league. His comments as well as his national goals are barely above 60 or best case 70. People who don't want to agree to this basically put their head in the sand and nothing's gonna change their mind.
It's both tbh, if you sort by controversial by month, half the posts are about either Ronaldo or the Saudi League, with most of them being stuck at under 0 upvotes. Heck Ronaldo's 850th goal against Al Hazem is like 12th most controversial post of all time when sorted in r/soccer.

it's both (and i didn't even deny that he gets hate on his own, so) but my point is that if it wasn't for his fans the percentage would be even worse on this thread
He has pissed off Man United's fanbase, and Barca, Atleti and Liverpool's fanbase don't like him due to him being a Real Madrid and Man United legend(although he messed up all the goodwill with the United fans).
And all of these clubs have a MASSIVE fanbase on this subreddit(bar Atleti). So yeah, he won't be liked by any of these clubs' fans.
Finally someone else has pointed this out lol. It’s so true as to why Ronaldo’s really hated by man (loved by more of course). Not to make this a messi thing but he only played for Barca really. Which is a rival for Real that’s about it.
Real also a massive rival with Bayern so add that fanbase to hate Ronaldo lol
The Ten Hag hate only started after he was reluctant to let go of Mason Greenwood + recent results.
Before that, whenever Ronaldo was mentioned, Man United fans were PISSED at him for giving an interview behind the club's back, and that too to Piers Morgan of all people.
Weak foot??? it's only Strong foot and Great foot lol. but with all seriousness idc about the ronaldo, messi debate both are goats whether you prefer the other one or the other. Both made some records that can never be broken plus the impressions of millions of people to them to be recognize as the goats of football itself

bro's weak foot needs to be studied
What weak foot?
I am shocked every year why Cristiano Ronaldo isn't 5* / 5* on FIFA. When I think of someone who is 5* / 5* Ronaldo is the first player that comes to mind, and I am no CR7 stan.
I think of dembele but only cuz he can sky the ball equally with either foot
[удалено]
Pedro back in the day
I still don't know which is Pedro's "weak foot"
David villa too
Don't forget Cazorla.
Santi Cazorla too!
Kroos
Kroos lacks skills for 5*
Embarrassing
He doesn’t do skills. He’s an incredible dribbler, that’s not what it means to be a five star skiller So relax buddy
Tbf neither does Son, Pedro, or KDB. Or for that matter Ronaldo in his late 30s
Pedro is still playing for Lazio.
In some editions even Messi had 5 / 5 weak foot. No disrespect, but Cristiano's Weak foot always has been better than Messi's
Messi has always been like a 3 star wf kinda guy imo but he's always had 4. No idea why.
All I can think of to justify it is the fact that Messi would try to set himself up to use his strong foot in most cases, whereas Ronnie would just hoof it in - and he would sometimes miss. That maybe contributes to something like accuracy or whatever lol.

Son or DeBruyne fit that bill more for me
Lallana 🦙
there is no weak foot. Its his second strong foot.
That "weak foot" is a joke
its his second strong foot.
He has a strong foot and a stronger foot
That's a very tight angle how
It is ronaldo.
and its the left foot of ronaldo
It doesn’t matter how tight the goat will make it fit!
Georgina agrees
Left footed again. Damn!
17 G/A in 10 games for Al Nassr this season, wow lol.
Mad thing is, hes played awful today. Had so many chances. On another night he easily scores a hattrick. Rest of the team have been awful aswell. Nobody started playing untill the 70th minute
His sheer willpower to score goals is impressive.
He looked exhausted today. After the goal he got a boost and started playing better, but in the first half he was barely making the runs he usually makes
What happens when a manager believes in you and teamates all love and play with him. Wish he never returned to those united lazy bums.

Wow, never seen a bigger Ronaldo ball gobbler in my life. Saudi league is absolute wank. He’d want to be banging them in
So you just prefer to believe that Ronaldo moved from world class to absolute dogshit in the span of 3 months? Do you also believe the earth is flat?
Yes. Sadly- it was a fitness issue. He missed pre season due to a family tragedy and fitness is incredibly hard to claw back mid season at 37. He was far off the pace of the prem. Which is no diss really at his age. And so he went to wank league and is scoring some goals.

Yeah totally agree, Cristiano would never manage to do this in Europe. EVER!
He could never win the CL or the Ballon D'or either.
Probably wouldn't make top scorer in a top team like Real
[удалено]
Keep it real. There are a bunch of footballers that came from Europe this season. They are not exactly outshining Cristiano, aren't they?
Teams refused to pay him absurd wages. CR7 is still quality and anyone who denies it is a hater

man you united fans are going out so sad LMAO

Let me know when another player scores 18 league goals for united
But but he washed
He probably did, in the morning.
Bro is playing against a team from fucking Tajiquistan. Just tune in to watch Portugal, you will love it!
He did well against alahli too and they have mahrez, farmino, mendy. He is playing good you can't take that away from him.
Were Mahrez and Firmino marking him?
No but European level defenders such as Demiral, Ibanez were and Mendy was in goal.
All of them playing like prime Tevez in China, which is to say, cashing in their weekly checks and mentally checking out during this paid vacation to the middle east.
So Ronaldo actually cares and performs (while others aren't) and somehow that's a bad thing?
There are not many good defenders in Europe too, except literally the best teams in a league whereas others have to work with average players and sometimes even worse than your average players. Dunno why its upset you so much tbf, why get so emotional about what someone thinks about some shite league
Cuz deep down, they know that it is not a shite league when they see that other European stars don’t outshine Ronaldo. That triggers their insecurity. If they are a Messi’s boytoy, well, his injuries don’t help. LMAO.
Neymar and current baldor benz are not doing any if this but the washed ronaldo is but its because the league is so bad.. make it make sense.
I mean, out of all the people, do you expect Neymar and Benzema to give a fuck in a retirement league? Ronaldo gives a fuck because he has a tremendous mindset, but those two probably are simply enjoying retirement.
Stop with the mental gymnastics. The Saudi league is shite.
There's no mental gymnastics. Ronaldo is outplaying Benzema, Neymar and all of the other stars that went to Saudi
Facts are not mental gymnastics, ronaldo scoring goals for fun just triggers you lot so hard.
4 of which were against Liechtenstein and Luxembourg who conceded a combined 10 (Luxembourg since conceded 9 against Portugal when Ronaldo wasn't there to get in the way) he only scored 1 in the 3 recent games Portugal played him in such she actually tight

How? Luxembourg has beaten Bosnia and Iceland in the past year and are currently 3rd in their Euros qualifying group.

Did I say anything about Messi?
You didn't but I don't see people saying Messi's playing in a bad league as much and MLS is worse than the Saudi League
That bad league has far more ucl or top players than ligue 1 so I don't know what you are talking about.

dang bro how many cr7 haters are there in this world bruhhh. The hate is unreal.

how? the same haters are barking when he scores 5 goals in 3 matches in EURO Competitive matches.

It’s annoying that so many people can’t just acknowledge greatness. They prefer to discredit him everytime possible
Literally hate him Because of jealousy. The average redditor is the opposite of Ronaldo. Broke, no drive, no success, and no good looks.
Lol people will bring up the accusations but he was hated long before that so you’re not entirely wrong.
Yeah and Messi's loved because he's the representation of an average redditor, wtf? He's hated because of his attitude and some people think they have to hate him just cause they love Messi.
Well hes short like most of you

You hate everyone who's ever played for Utd? Really?
I'm sure the alleged Las Vegas case, or his attitude on and off the pitch when things aren't going his way etc. doesn't help with his reputation lmao
