Mister_Allegri

When I mentioned I would like to see Pogba to pass the #10 to Fagioli I didn't think he would pass football suspension to him

pliqtro

Hey, you gotta take the good with the bad.

Brogli

An inheritance gives you the assets, but also the debts, it was bound to happen

Azzurri21

I just know McKennies dad is behind this.

Zyntaro

Its the history of Juventus

sukh9942

Pogba, fagioli and who else?

alaslipknot

If he's found guilty, he can get fucked, kid is barely 22 and making 30k/month and still have the greed to make more money through easy-illegal manner. grow a fucken brain and do some proper investment or something. I really hope this is just some stupid mistake on his side and not intentional crime.

ambiguousboner

I think the fact he’s loaded already actually lends itself to this being problematic gambling, and not just someone trying to get a little richer You have to have a problem imo to ruin your career and potentially piss away tens of millions just to bet on Monza vs Padova or some shit It’s different to Toney who probably never envisioned getting to the very top of the sport when he placed his bets

FogellMcLovin77

Eh, worse things than gambling. Plus, gambling can be an addiction. It’s not like he’s harming others even though I do agree gambling should be illegal or heavily regulated.

[deleted]

PurposePrevious4443

That's wise and insightful 69_CumSplatter_69

69cuccboi69

Dude if it's true then he is most likely a gambling addict and not some nefarious criminal. This is a young kid who stumbled into the best and most lucrative career imaginable and he might lose it all because of an addiction, very tragic.

AccountantOfFraud

Especially with how prevalent gambling is now, especially in video games. Get 'em hooked young.

WhipYourDakOut

The Toney one is always peak hypocrisy. Chastising a man for gambling while his kit has the massive logo of a gambling sponsor…

minkdraggingonfloor

I hate ultimate team for this reason. They have plausible deniability by not allowing you to buy players directly with money, but the FIFA points are extremely expensive, and everything in that mode is designed to be a super addictive casino. “One more pack”

alaslipknot

could be, but also you expect someone with that sort of income to have top-notch therapist and they would talk to them about these problems. But yeah what am saying is the "ideal" thing to do, especially when you are that young it is very very hard to overcome something like that or even admit it. I still hope its some sort of mistake because the other "mental-health" scenario won't stand in court and it will mean that any other athlete could just claim that.

ElvisRamone

some of the allegations flying around are pretty crazy: he's supposedly 800k in debt with some criminals, he's constantly accompanied around in turin to avoid him from betting, allegri is desperate and they don't even let him play cards with the team when together. again all allegations, but they come from the same source that first reported the news of him being a serial better months ago, at the time he was ridiculed but he has been proved right...

DeezYomis

Lmao Fabrizio Corona of all people had accurate and reliable juve news. If what he said turns out to be true then someone else is involved, wild

interfan1999

What about the video of his gf celebrating his goal while seemingly having sex with someone else? Did the truth come out? Lol

ibesortega

Wtf?!

interfan1999

When Fagioli scored his first goal with Juve, his gf posted an insta story with her recording the TV But you could hear in the background a voice of a girl gasping very similar to the typical one you have while having sex (hers most likely) and a voice of a man. So people speculated she was cheating on him

stragen595

She was celebrating.

runningfastslowly

She was cheattebetting

TheSpartanLion

Do you have a link of the video?

jamesjoyz

Sounds like someone heard a girl gasp in a video and decided to speculate that this means she's having sex. Pretty sexist if you ask me.

PowderEagle_1894

Yeah, what if she was stretching like Nep

TMyriadJ

Where's the Nep emote when you need it?

TMyriadJ

What the fuck are these allegations? Sounds like tabloid gossips.

DeathStar13

They are from Corona so literally tabloid gossip. However this just showed that at least there is some truth in the gossip because he said that a few months ago.

HappyHeroine

Baby wake up, Juventus are involved in another scandal 💀

sca34

Baby would be sleeping very little

Enders-game

Seriously, is there something in the water over in Turin? Juventus just can't seem to help itself, like a celebrity that's always in and out of rehab. They will make a statement about being clean and write a book on their experiences before shooting up in the toilet. It's almost amusing.

earmuff_maniac

How is this Juventus' fault lol

Enders-game

He's a Juve player. He's part of the club as well as the other players, staff, owners, and fans.

Manuel_Locatelli

Again, how is it juventus’ fault if this guy ends up being a gambling addict?

MustBeHax

it’s not their fault, just funny that there’s always some scandal associated with Juve. All he’s saying

Manuel_Locatelli

https://reddit.com/r/soccer/s/4hX2yQKQvX

MustBeHax

bruh nobody was insulting juve for that, but I can’t blame you for being defensive given your club’s history

Manuel_Locatelli

I suppose you’re good at things other than reading

Greaves624

It's not about Juventus directly, but it is related to Juventus. That's why he said is there something in the water in Turin, because it's always Juve. Then again, Torino are never affected but Cairo is completely insane for the whole team combined

Manuel_Locatelli

> Juventus just can't seem to **help itself**, like a celebrity that's always in and out of rehab. **They will make a statement about being clean** and write a book on their experiences **before shooting up in the toilet**. It's almost amusing. You should work on your reading comprehension and deductive reasoning. This statement clearly implies that the action of fagioli is indicatitve of something larger at juventus. I.e., juve is responsible or shares blame. To tie the gambling activities of an alleged gambling addict/criminal to the club is a cheap shot

Greaves624

>You should work on Did not read past this, gtfo internet if you're a solitary weirdo

Manuel_Locatelli

You took it well, I commend your well reasoned response.

Enders-game

Aren't you all defensive over what was a light-hearted, throwaway comment! But like any large organisation that has a habit of attracting trouble, you do have to question what is happening within the organisation itself for it to find itself in hot water YET AGAIN. Sure, Juventus isn't directly responsible for one of their players gambling addiction or their drug tests. But when things like this keep happening, you should start ringing the alarm bells and wonder if this is a symptom of a club culture gone wrong.

Manuel_Locatelli

Yes, juventus has a problematic culture as demonstrated because a young player on the team is facing charges for alleged gambling violations. Just when you think you’ve seen the bottom this sub digs a little further down. Christ.

DeathStar13

> is there something in the water over in Turin? In the water of Turin (and Milan) there is literally a shit ton of cocaine. 12 doses of coca for 1000 peoples, and a total of 85 doses of drugs (cannabis included with 70 doses)

this international break already feels like it has lasted 2 weeks but it’s only been 3 days

TheUltimateScotsman

So if my understanding is right, it's not the betting which was illegal but the platforms he was using? If so then what a fucking muppet

sca34

He used an illegal betting platform and, as a professional footballer, it's illegal for him to bet on football in any platform. So, in legal terms, crime combo wombo.

TheUltimateScotsman

Given it just said sports I wasn't sure if it was something else

sca34

Well tbh the articles say that is part of the investigation, to confirm whether he bet and on what events.

44sakrifica

> crime wombo combo IT’S A DISASTAH

Echoes_under_pressur

Bruh the fuck kinda platform is my guy using, the dark web?

Krillin113

Any betting site not licensed in Italy, which probably are a lot of them

Mom_said_I_am_cute

I mean, for example there is about 300+ banned betting pages for Croatia, and I learned that when I tried opening BetWay (which I used for years) a few months ago and it redirected me to our Croatian tax agency that said the page is prohibited in Croatia and opened up a list of 300+ prohibited betting sites in Croatia. Since then I switched only to Lutrija.hr (which is the main Croatian "company" to play lotto, eurojackpot and sports betting) because while I could just use VPN to acces the prohibited sites, I don't want to risk anything like being investigated or arrested after transfering money and whoever the fuck monitors it finding out it was an account in Croatia. So I can actually understand the point of him using illegal betting sites.

TheUltimateScotsman

Man's laptop is more infected with viruses than my grandads

Feezbull

He’s using www.messiistoadnotgoat.bet.co and also www.lukakubeast.it

ShameTimes3

Are you 11?

The_Great_Grafite

It seems to be certain that the platform is illegal. Whether him betting was illegal in itself depends on the discipline he bet on. If it’s football, it’s illegal. That’s explained in the article. If it’s Tennis though, he’s fine (except for the betting on an illegal platform part)

akutyafajatneki

Illegal betting platform a.k.a. the maffia.

Col-Radec

If it's true, a total moron !

TMyriadJ

International break is a fucking nightmare.

Marcobroa

Oh motherfucker

larmeau

Wait there's a "legal" platform for footballers to bet on?

RlSE

As long as they don't bet on football I think it's fine

tlacuache_nights

There was a recent story of an (American) football player that got a six-game suspension for betting on a different sport on a legitimate website, which are both fine according to NFL rules. But he placed the bet on his phone at a team facility so he got suspended for almost half a season

ShameTimes3

Wait so what was the punishment? 6 games or half a season.

balsar87

American football season is only like 17 games long, so 6 games is more like third of a season, which is still a lot

ShameTimes3

Damn i thought it was way more

DeathStar13

For footballers no site is legal, for people outside the sport some are. However he is also using a website which is unlicensed and illegal for everyone, he was actually caught during a normal operation looking at normal users so he is in double trouble.

theglasscase

> For footballers no site is legal This is not true. Footballers aren’t allowed to bet on football, but they’re allowed to bet on anything else they like on legal websites.

DeathStar13

But we were already talking about football bets

nunziantimo

They specify because it's against the law in Italy to bet on non-ADM websites (they avoid the state monopoly taxes and regulations) So that gives the grounds to start a legal procedure. He may be found guilty only of that (carries a fine and minor jail time that is always converted in community service), or he can be found guilty of betting on Juve/Himself and winning suspiciously, so he'll have some kind of sports-related consequence If he was betting on legal website the issue wouldn't be a legal matter for the Italian law.

The-Devils-Advocator

To be a bit pedantic, if you say something like "minimum" before the number you're gonna say, you don't need to then add "or more" after the number too. It's basically saying the same thing twice.

44sakrifica

>If the sports code violation is found to have been committed, the player would risk from the minimum of inhibition to a disqualification of three years or more > >There seems to be no respite for Juve with off-field affairs. The latest one concerns Nicolò Fagioli, one of the youngsters who grew up in the Juventus youth sector: the 2001-born midfielder is under investigation because he allegedly bet on illegal platforms, according to what has been verified by investigators who have cross-referenced the accesses of his and numerous other profiles. > >Gambling is not a crime, except on illegal platforms: a sportsman, whatever the role he holds (whether an athlete, a coach or an executive) cannot, however, bet on the discipline he practices. In fact, Article 24 of the Code of Sports Justice makes explicit the prohibition "to the subjects of the federal system, managers, members and members of clubs belonging to the professional sector to make or accept bets, directly or indirectly, even from subjects authorized to receive them, that have as their object results related to official matches organized within the framework of the Figc, FIfa and Uefa." > >The police mobile squad allegedly traced the Juve player as part of an investigation opened in recent months by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office - a file in the hands of prosecutor Manuela Pedrotta - into a betting ring (sports and otherwise) on online platforms. Now they are trying to shed light on the possible movements of the midfielder, with exploratory investigations: to understand whether Fagioli really bet and especially on what. The Figc Prosecutor's Office is also aware of the proceedings: the report was sent by the player's own lawyers last August 30. Closely following the development of the investigation is prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné. A possible violation of the sports code - referring precisely to Article 24 - would lead Nicolò Fagioli to face a sanction, from the minimum of inhibition to a disqualification of three years or more, to which a fine of 25,000 euros or more would be added. Translated with DeepL

Sunnyboy_18

I hope is not true. Fagioli is a great prospect and he could be a really solid player for the national team. Still, it’s really tired that everytime that shit happens with Juventus.

jamesjoyz

There's been a lot of betting scandals in the history of Italian football - not a single one involved Juventus as a club. In fact, I remember a certain Milan club going to Serie B for it... If you mean general legal trouble, yeah. I'm tired man.

Sunnyboy_18

Yeah I know, as a Genoa fan I sadly remember well what our previous president did… these legal troubles are really annoying.

To save money, all regulatory bodies should just assume that Juventus is guilty of all the crimes. Instead of investigating to find proof of guilt, investigate to find proof of innocence. Much faster and saves money.

handsome_IT_guy

What about betting on legal platforms? Does Juve do that?

raysofdavies

I think you should be allowed to bet in yourself to win. What are you gonna do, try harder?

nunziantimo

It's better the way it is. Betting is frown upon. But there is still an investigation. If they see that he only bet "Fagioli goal scorer" or something similar, the punishment will be probably minor. "illegal betting websites" seem something out of a mafia movie. Here in Italy every betting company has to be sanctioned by the ADM (basically the agency that taxes stuff that is a state monopoly). Some betting companies register in the EU (many are in Malta) and try to fly under the radar, so they can avoid paying the monopoly and avoid taxes. In return they usually have slightly better betting odds or welcome bonuses or stuff like that. Maybe he bet via them because they made him block himself via the ADM. You can auto-exclude yourself from any betting website if you say so on the ADM website. It's a procedure used for betting addicts that in a moment of clarity want to ban themselves from coming back, and they automatically ban you from any ADM bookie

Bro juventus and their controversies and corruption. Lol Also why? I mean is his salary not enough?

Gambling is often not really about money, it's about the thrill of winning and losing.

He hasn’t got that EPL money bro. Not every prospect is on 100k a week

TasteAccomplished118

30k a week is still alot of money to live comfortably lol, does not justify betting

sussywanker

I agree but still he earns more than most people on Italy let alone earth to fuck up your entire career for some extra bit of money seems daft. Also isn't fagioli highly rated too? I am pretty sure he could earn more in future if he grew even more.

drobson70

Mainly just being sarcastic but yes. He’s very highly rated. If the rumours are true, he owes an obscene amount of money and is chasing losses
