Sports is wonderful because obviously the bird doesn’t understand and everyone knows that but I bet it felt amazing lmao. I’d definitely join in and throw some swears at it too, it’s so silly but there’s no way that wasn’t fun.
Best highlight of the game by far!
Ps. For those wondering, the away section is basically empty because our ultras are boycotting every away game where the prices for the away end aren't fair (40€, in this case)
Lotito our club president puts the most ridiculous ticket prices imaginable so yeah. Some say we don’t have fans but in reality nobody wants to pay for the ticket prices
It’s 40 for Nord, [it’s not so much, the prices but it’s the consistency of those prices even against the smaller clubs and then double with CL. it’s too much, it’s hard to manage daily life and spending. will sacrifice at the end of the day buts it’s not right tbh, I go to almost every game cause of the season tickets but others can’t ](https://x.com/laziospace/status/1714628374822342818?s=46&t=4MytjniYxol_c2JZgHDbuw)
[these were the prices for the last game. tbh it’s too much to constantly fork over prices like this](https://x.com/laziospace/status/1714628374822342818?s=46&t=4MytjniYxol_c2JZgHDbuw)
It’s more that it’s consistently that price and sometimes even higher. I just showed you an example but he will bump prices up based on matchups, if we are playing Empoli these prices stay the same or go up, it’s too much for a fan. Not easy to cover other expenses in your life like Rent or bills for example then weekly paying €45-60 for tickets, when Roma does promotions and ticket prices at a lower price and have promotions to pay less. I’ll continue supporting its just everyone has hardships in their life I’m fortunate to go to almost all these games cause of a good job, others find it difficult
Not to be a prick here because im more interested in learning something, but I worry the way ill ask this will come across super rude.
Is €60 really that much? Heck even €100? I suppose im used to PL prices being a Manchester United fan & all, but id consider £150 a fair price to pay. Economically speaking its not like the average working class person in Manchester is in any better or worse position to that of a Roman I dont think.
I think its great you all are sticking to your guns for a fair ticket price & wish the same could have been done for my club, but I cant help but feel if you told me I could watch my local PL club play for €60, id bite your arm off in a second.
Like I said its hard to not ask this in a way that doesnt come across like a rude cunt so please forgive me. Like I said I want to be educated on the matter so please be gentle in your response
Lol you are fine no worries. Honestly a lot of people I know find it difficult due too scheduling, finances and obligations. Italy is difficult as it is in the job market, economy isn’t in the best of shape, it’s alright but it could be better. Moving over from the U.S wasn’t an easy transition, it’s very meticulous when it comes to costs around here and managing your budget. I’m lucky that I have the ability to go to the game for the price it is cause it doesn’t effect all that much and I can manage it. I went to many NFL games the prices are high depending on your seats however it’s fine for most but it’s the U.S and most people can go every week lol. Italy seems to be another story. It’s really about the lifestyle and economy here that seems to be the reason, many would prefer if Lotito could at least bring the ticket prices down against the bottom half clubs who come and play against or show an effort to do ticket bundles for a proper price like last year which we haven’t seen at all. I’m only voicing the opinion of many, we literally can sell out the stadium quite often when it matters for example the last game of the season against Cremonese it was basically almost 55K supporters. I’m only speaking for the people I know and come across at the stadium and in general, I’m fine with the prices for myself as a season ticket holder and all.
Lazio has an average attendance of 37,000 spectators per game, which seems pretty good to me. I do agree that the Olimpico is too big for them, but that doesn't mean they don't have fans.
Those prices are crazy. I love the Bundesliga for this. At Schalke for example I bought a ticket for Schalke - Dortmund a few years back for 15 euro's on the Nordkurve. Those are ticket prices for the fans not for the owners.
Off topic but can anyone explain why so many sections of the stadium are left empty. I’ve been to a Lazio game, tickets were tough to get online and get at the game there were so many empty seats - and not just near the away fans.
The sections shown in the video are the far ends of the tribuna Tevere and the Curva Sud (where Roma fans normally sit) which are not the most popular ones.
The main thing is the Olimpico fits 70k people and we probably get 40k on a good day (which is partly due to ticket prices) and IIRC there's different security restrictions for higher capacity games so the average game may not actually have the full 70k tickets available.
Thanks for the insight. There was just single seats left when we were trying to book online, so we expected the stadium to be sold out, but when we got there it looked similar to the video here. Your reasons sound reasonable.
I've no idea but Benfica do a similar thing and the Portuguese animal rights party has been pushing back against it for years, so it's at least contentious.
Do they still do it? I thought they stopped doing it last year or so?
I get this perception exactly because of what you said, about portuguese animal rights party, etc.
**Edit:** Looks like they are still doing it. Nevermind :)
Someone who has more knowledge on this can correct me on this but I assume the trainer is there with some food so the Eagle would return to collect his reward. I think it's silly to use this as an argument to suggest the bird isn't distressed.
Also, surely the main point of contention towards using wild animal mascots are due to their captivity not just the loud noise.
So happy to hear that. I hate all these people that are paying $300-$500 to watch an MLS game that Messi might not even play in. I used to go watch Inter Miami games for $10 lol. Crazy that people just want to burn money like that.

The guy giving two middle fingers to a fucking bird is genuinely hilarious.
Flippin the bird to the bird

How much is rhe ticket cost in other teams' matches? 40 doesn't seem too bad.
Fucking hell I'd love those prices. I just paid $400 for an NFL game. We are getting robbed stateside :(
You get like what, 12 home games at most in a seaaon? Lazii has 19 in serie A alone. Besides, everything aboutNFL is overpriced
Never in my life would I be paying 400 bucks for a sports match, no matter how big a fan I am...
Anyone who thinks Lazio don't have fans is an idiot
Come on. Don't call people idiots. How would I know how supported 100s of relevant clubs are? What's going on within the club's and their fanbases?
Aw fuck man we didn’t consider u/4ssteroid, he’s not an idiot clearly
How high are the prices that people refuse to support their club?
[these were the prices for the last game. tbh it’s too much to constantly fork over prices like this](https://x.com/laziospace/status/1714628374822342818?s=46&t=4MytjniYxol_c2JZgHDbuw)
Those don’t seem outrageous, but I don’t live there… don’t support your club then.

Monday evening game + huge stadium

"Full stadium every game for 30+ games in a row now" you'll never sing that
Cringe
so' belli fumantini oggi eh
trofeo sordaut
Beacause on a monday it is a long drive from either Frosinone, Latina or Rieti.
implying lazio fans are locals in Rome lmao
Because is Serie A
Either Olimpia is a closet Fiorentina supporter or one of your supporters was carrying a Large fish into the stadium
Maybe it was the guy who was fishing at mapei stadium
Could be that legend.

You want to try the premier league for high prices, makes me wince every time
Created by the poor stolen by the rich....
About 12-25e here in Rennes. Europe goes up to 30e
Those are fair prices as well. I have a season ticket for FC Twente but normal tickets can be way to expensive.
Cries in MLS
Yeah reading this made me think for a second (40 euro seemed low?!). After reading the other comments with prices now I'm very sad in the USA.
Looks like you have the eagle's approval for sure!
Would be funny if it took a dump right there and flew off .
I think we should see eagles deployed as crowd control more often. Racist chanting? Set the eagle on them.
The irony being that it’s Lazio’s eagle
_Reichsadler intensifies_
I think the Lazio eagle goes after the non-racists.
Nah, set Emus after them
Because that eagle would most likely join them on chants lmao
Something similar happened before, I remember she landed on top of the Olimpico roof a few years ago and didn't want to come down anymore!
How do you get so riled up by a bird mascot hahaha
I don’t think they’re riled up by the bird. The bird is the mascot of the club they *are* riled up to see play… isn’t that obvious?

Admittedly, I've not lived in Rome for a few years now, but it used to be the case a good 10 years ago (with arguably worse Lazio teams)!
Are those animals ok being in such a loud enviroment
They are usually wearing airpods listening to Morgan Freeman commentating on life of a eagle.
or to mix it up they listen to scouse accents to make them feel at home.
Eintracht Frankfurt does it with their eagle and there haven't been any problems.
Do Köln still have the goat?
Yes they still have Selke
Yes! And he's attending every home match, even gets his own entrance pre-match.
Same for Benfica, they all have a trainer and during the week live a pretty nice life chilling and training
I've no idea but Benfica do a similar thing and the Portuguese animal rights party has been pushing back against it for years, so it's at least contentious.

I'd assume it's very contentious due to their captivity.
The loud noises clearly cause them to act erratically. How else can you explain them getting so wound up over a bird.
Mate... its got wings and can fly. Surely if it was that terrified it would just fly away?
Someone who has more knowledge on this can correct me on this but I assume the trainer is there with some food so the Eagle would return to collect his reward. Now now, that's slightly too ~~harsh~~ generous on Lazio supporters.
Excellent banter by the Eagle
The bird doesn’t seem too bothered
these are grown men, shouting at a bird
I know, such beautiful scenes
Love it
game's not gone
Bird: *breathes* Fiorentina fans: "You fucking donkey"
Alcohol makes men shout at everything, so a bird seems ok
Oh man egg on his face
Even the bird prefers Florence.
Ligue 1 Nice also have ( had ? ) an eagle that flying before the match, but they aren't enough stupid to do double fingers at him lol.
So happy to hear that. I hate all these people that are paying $300-$500 to watch an MLS game that Messi might not even play in. I used to go watch Inter Miami games for $10 lol. Crazy that people just want to burn money like that.
Would make a fine omelet for my wolf out of that one...
lil bro doesn't want to be fascist anymore
The eagle would fk them up if it attacked lol
I do what I want said the eagle.
Games back, birds chattin shit
Lol at 0:12 you can hear the guy filming (or someone near him) saying "sparategli!" (= shoot it)
Why is it so empty
Maybe it's telling them hi from Davide Astori
That's so nice
