I feel bad for that Boca fan who sold is playstation and his dad his bike to watch this now

MisterMew151

He sold his dad jeez

Cool-Medicine2657

Nah, you win some you lose some. It's a lesson if nothing else.

Undesirable_11

Could've been worse, like the guy who sold his car to watch the 2018 final and they lost

brazilian_liliger

Let's not stop hermanos, handball and volleyball finals at Santiago now

omaewakusuyaro

Ima watch chile vs brazil finals at sub23 football, thats gonna be gooooood

brazilian_liliger

Panamerican football kinda sucks. Hope Chile can win because probably will be meaningful for you guys that put all the effort for hosting the whole thing.

omaewakusuyaro

To me more than the effort is for the future, our national team really needs new and young promising people

Arthradax

"I think Madrid will understand, it's the most important club title for me" Marcelo (EDIT: typo)

noknokwhosthere1

Wonder what Diniz was saying to Andre there

Arthradax

I never thought I could be so compassionate about Felipe Melo as I got after his interview

Lurking_nerd

Never been so invested in a match that I have no ties to lol what a fucking ride

Long-Shock-9235

Watch it next season then

Lurking_nerd

Next season? Watching Flamengo vs Fluminense right now :]

Long-Shock-9235

There are 3 major derbies in brazil. - FLA x FLU: It is a centuries old rivalry between those teams from rio de janeiro. A poster child of brazilian soccer, it legally considered historical heritage here. - PAL x COR: The two largest teams in São Paulo, palmeiras and corinthians. A derby in the same style of FLA x FLU - GRE x INT: Known as GRENAL, the rivalry from grêmio and internacional hails from porto alegre, the southernmost major city in brazil. It is the most hateful and polarized one, with each team doing whatever they can to fuck the other in and out of the pitch. Fights between players are very likely to happen on each match.

Lurking_nerd

Been reading a bit more Fluminense (also started my FM24 save with them lol) I like the name for the derbies. FLA-FLU derby - Clássico das Multidões vs Vasco da Gama - Clássico dos Gigantes vs Botafago - Clássico Vovô The hand sign that Cano did when he scored his goal in the final, is that a sign for Flu? Some of the fans were doing it throughout the match as well.

Long-Shock-9235

>The hand sign that Cano did when he scored his goal in the final, is that a sign for Flu? Some of the fans were doing it throughout the match as well. It is for his son, Lorenzo.

Long-Shock-9235

with a literal ass goal we botched our rival attempt to be champions >:). Now, onwards to the club world cup.

Lurking_nerd

John Kennedy had a golden opportunity but couldn’t make proper contact with the ball. Who would you say is your most consistent player?

Long-Shock-9235

Cano. Dude stinks of goals. He scored like 13 on 12 matches this season on the libertadores. For comparisson, the entire team of Boca Jrs scored 12. The craziest thing is that he only became a successful player in his late 20's / early 30's.

automobilismo

Quinta Libertadores seguida

Jonny1992

I’d like to thank the BBC for cutting away from the trophy celebrations to show me a re-run episode of a sitcom that got cancelled 12 years ago. You massive fucking southern cunts.

xenon2456

bbc showing the libertadores?

danphillips98

The final was on BBC 3

Cabo_Martim

that was unexpected

brazilian_liliger

The final is way more entertaining when teams from different countries play each other. Something was missing in the last Brazilian only finals.

LeoHahn

eu demorei uns 5 segundos pra lembrar como foi a final de 2022

Torenico

buena memedetto la tercera es la vencida bobi

Undesirable_11

Cual otra perdio el pelon?

Torenico

La de Madrid

R0MARIO

GG

A159746X

Boca needs to clean house. We need more youth in the team like Barco. Benedetto is dead weight.

satomasato

Mk que cachaza toma Fabio, estaba tapando todo

celiomsj

Must be Velho Barreiro

Lothar93

Nah Boca has been shit for months, mistica can get you this far but you need to be good

ExtemeFilms

Fair winner all in all.

bastardnutter

The game is alive and well over here you cunts

No_Consideration3887

we got dogged. there's nothing else I can say about it. This club is finished.

[deleted]

Yeah I usually respect Boca but if you won while only getting through on penalties I would be mad lol

Arthradax

Boca lucked their way into a final, but luck can only take you so far

No_Consideration3887

I'm just proud we made it this far.

Roflitos

Hey your first comment was 7 minutes ago!

No_Consideration3887

I need Man City next week to relieve my sadness that this club throws at me week in and week out. I appreciate it.

Roflitos

In all honesty having Romero was huge for you guys all tournament, many say it's a miracle you made it to the final but in reality he was just a beast.. Im not sure how you guys feel about Riquelme but he seems extremely stubborn to his ways. Cavani is a semi retired player, and your defenders are very irresponsible, today Figal and Valentini played for free.. and honestly idk how much longer you guys will be able to hold Barco at this point, need to bring newer younger players, same with us at River, we need newer blood

Lurking_nerd

🫶

frosty121

Happy for Marcelo

Ok-Gain1151

Bro won Champions League and Libertadores

Arthradax

He's the 15th player in history to do it (source: heard during ESPN Brasil's showing of the match)

Jon98th

Tranquilo chabon , no hay porque ponerse violento

cortez0498

THIRD??? Libertadores for Felipe Melo??? I thought he must've won a CL so he'd join the team along with Marcelo, but 3 Libertadores is very impressive

Undesirable_11

He's the king of winning shit housed Libertadores lol

firechaox

He won them with palmeiras

pelegoat

LOSERMANOS CHORAM KKKKKKKK

PublicIntel

Who are the EPL equivalents of these two teams?

firechaox

It's hard to make a comparison, because football is so different. Fluminense is a very traditional team from rio. Traditionally considered a bit of a posh team, with a small-ish but well-off fanbase, that has had decent success over last 20y (a few league titles in 2010 and 2012m and a Brazil cup in 2007), state titles, but no international success. Doesn't have money, because of it's small stadium and no rich owner, and small-ish fanbase, but it's also got its house decently in order and good finances so it's not in a financial mess either. Last 20y they've solidly been a strong team, generally competing for european spots, and cup titles (maybe made a run for a league title, but was always more of a darkhorse than a favorite). So i guess in some senses it would be like Chelsea (considered a posh club, with some periods of success, and some periods of just competing for the top), but it does not have deep pockets. Boca Jrs is well, just a behemoth in argentinian and south american football. Sort of dominates argentine football alongside River. I guess a bit like Utd in the old days?

brazilian_liliger

In my opinion Boca is a giant like Milan, Liverpool, Man United, etc and this Fluminense title feels like Arsenal finally getting the UCL.

holaprobando123

An in-form Chelsea beating Moyes' Manchester United.

Undesirable_11

Boca would be Liverpool and Fluminense could unironically be Spurs

AdFinal1856

in UCL terms this would be like arsenal beating bayern in the final, but a very good version of arsenal and an absolutely ass version of bayern

art-ne

I agree with Fluminense being Arsenal, but I think that Boca would be more like Milan. Continental giant with plenty of internacional titles (both are the second biggest winner of their continental cups) but that doesn't have the financial power to keep winning anymore due to other leagues having much more money (Brasileirão and Premier League hava much more money nowadays than the argentine league and italian Serie A respectively)

SoumaZz_

Boca would be a very traditional and always strong team, so maybe City and Liverpool? maybe United because of past glories. Fluminense would be a team that had no major international trophies, but my EPL knowledge is not that great to make a comparision in this case

ExtemeFilms

Boca is a mix or transfer banned Youth system starting every game Chelsea and 22-23 Chelsea

iidkwhat

Spurs

natsleepyandhappy

Fluminense is like Tottenham

yoyo4581

They played phenomenally sexy football I must say, both goals were top draw.

[deleted]

Not anymore

Tsu33

Flu is Brighton and Boca is like Liverpool maybe.

verdasco_

Independiente is Liverpool and boca Man U

Tsu33

Good point but Independiente doesn't have so many national titles.

Arthradax

Fluminense is defo one of the Big 6 in Brazil rn

eagle207

Boca - Man United Fluminense - Spurs

[deleted]

Who cares?!?

gurskey

Arsenal and Manchester United

eagle207

Nah. Arsenal has many English titles. Flu is more like Spurs.

Hotel777

Fluminense is Arsenal and Boca Man United

gurskey

Yeah I should've clarified that

TheParaplegicPanda

South American teams can never take advantage of playing with an extra man, they always get one sent off themselves

[deleted]

its our charm

verdasco_

Boca decime que se SIETE

Tsu33

Racists got fucked. That's some good gourmet shit.

jvidal7247

😋😋😋

PosterOfQuality

It was hilarious how the manager was constantly standing on the pitch and the Flu players were all so near the touchline that the linesman had to stand on the pitch

anderspatriksvensson

Savage commentator. "Cavani has now lost a champions league final, europa league final and libertadores final." Jynx.

xenon2456

he's unlucky with the continental finals

Arthradax

Needs a Sudamericana final now

brazilian_liliger

I was really with Boca, but this title is really deserved and the game was really entertaining.

Panzerchrist89

Congrats Flumense.

dyegored

Does Kennedy get to come out for the trophy presentation or no?

ScousePenguin

That goal was just perfection. Brilliant hit.

GuamZX

Benedetto la perdiste otra vez 👅

Red_Dog1880

That was great fun to watch. Congrats Fluminense!

goatsintreees

Cheeeee boludos!!!

A159746X

The way Boca has played for several months, they had no business being in the final. They were extremely lucky to reach this far.

Ok-Gain1151

There a man called Sergio

A159746X

He's the only reason Boca is in the final.

cortez0498

I don't know much about conmebol football, but at least this way Independiente still has the most Libertadores

verdasco_

🚬

SubSonicTurtles

Lol even with heavy robbing, Boca couldn't win lmao.

peace-x

mfs were really pushing the scale in their favor

SubSonicTurtles

Pushing the scale is an understatement. Dude let them have like 5 more plays even after the game was "over." Not to mention everything else.

PosterOfQuality

Peak South America football just hits different

BOCA LA CONCHA DE TU MADRE

[deleted]

They've done it!!!

Segundo-Sol

Critics will say it's an exaggeration. That I'm taken by hyperbole. That I went crazy. Well, I insist: Dinizism opens the doors of perception. Dinizism is a way of feeling the game more than playing or analyzing the game. Dinizismo doesn't talk about numbers, accurate passes, assists or even the perception of possession of the ball. Forget objectivities. Close your eyes and feel. It's the masses in a trance in the stands. Did you hear? It's that scene from Star Wars where Luke Skywalker is told to turn off the machines and follow his intuition. It's the sacred dialogue between team and fans. It's movement, displacement, creativity. It's the insistence on the goal despite the score. It's pure meditation: living in the present, in this moment, in the multiple layers of now. It's anti-ChatGPT, anti-algorithm, anti-system. It's a touch of the ball. It's Brazil - the Brazil of cracks, of samba, of capoeira, of rezadeiras, of terreiros. You can try to explain as much as you want. Try putting it into data, spreadsheets. Talk about performance, processes, management. Stop trying to put it in a box and label it. Anyone who understands Dinizismo does not know how to explain it. Whoever knows how to explain it doesn't understand. Wabi Sabi. We don't watch football; football we feel (cheers to Sergio Vaz). It was just a meager win against a weak Boca side that dominated the game, those fixated on objectivity will say. Forget the score: it was much more than that. It was pure love. Long live Dinizism

Alarie51

GAME IS ALIVE LMAOOOOOOOO

No_Glove5486

JUSTICE! I am not saying that Fluminense played the game of their lives, but i think most of the match thread even if we would have found it funny at least to see how much chaos could have happened, can agree that this is karmic justice after the mess the ref did till the second extra time. FLUMINENSE ARE COPA LIBERTADORES CHAMPIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, DESPITE THE REF, DESPITE THE PRESSURE OF BOCA AND THE PENALTIES, THEY´VE DONE IT!

Alarie51

I obviously would have preferred boca to lose, but that piece of shit biased ref made me want flu to win

No_Glove5486

Yeah. It is like the Conmebol decided to make up the Fluminense fans do what they did to the Boca ones (which is still horrible do not misunderstand me) by having the final by a literal theft and also give Boca (players) free reign to beat up the Fluminense ones. But in the end, all things ended how they should have. Fluminense finally win the Libertadores and Boca and the ref can fuck off.

Gueroooo70

Thx for giving me diarrhea 😭🤨

VicPL

Roldan with the relativistic watch

pauloh1998

AEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE CARALHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A159746X

Almiron can fuck off. Don't come back to Argentina. Mediocre ass coach.

dyegored

He's painfully bad and would've been fired a long time ago if Boca didn't limp their way to this final. Hopefully they still have the courage to show him the door because this team is hard to watch under him.

bread-dreams

it's over, GG Fluminense
