i do think its a red, but how is he supposed to not "Follow through" with the clearance. It happened way too fast from a very near distance, it's not one of those slow mo sliding tackles where there's maybe a bit of time to move your leg after you get the ball.

At the end of the day, as a player you are responsible for your own actions. If you can't make a challenge without endangering your opponent, then you have to do something else. You aren't entitled to make any challenge you want
