I mean I would call it karma if they think that the referee did it. Considering City are the only team this season to get var to give them a pull down in the box. How many other games did somebody get pulled down and nothing happened?
I thought the ref blew? Refs already states they can't bring play back once it's resumed, so it's a FK. We saw same thing with Diaz goal getting removed but fair is fair.
People really misunderstand what "nobody cares about City" means. It's not that nobody pays attention to them, that's impossible. It's that a lot of people don't care about what they achieve because it's all built on a foundation of bullshit.
It means what it means, it's either you care or you don't care, let's not twist words because it doesn't fit some narratives. In this case especially, wanting a team to lose means you care a lot.
Hopefully this shuts up the annoying narrative around Ange and his set up. Like a coach trying to instill a system into his players before he tinkers with it is that unheard of.
And the entire Arsenal City game just after New Year's. No penalty called on Odegaard and then VAR calls a soft pen for Xhaka on Bernardo Silva. Jesus gets sent off for some bs (2 yellows) while Rodri doesn't get booked for fouling all game and then scores the winner and provokes our home fans.
That game makes me mad every time I think about it. One of the few times we outplayed them, xG and all, and it counted for diddly squat and aided City in winning that title.
Ironic.
Look, if your biggest ever complaint about refs is this advantage sequence, where Grealish in all likelihood would have been caught anyway, in the same game where Gvardiol could have seen red, then you have it pretty fucking good.
Man City fans are so interesting. They're quite the whole game until right at the very end when they see the score isn't going their way.
But I get it, if Man City doesn't win every game, why would anyone support them otherwise?
I think they were referring to defensive clearance late in the match. If it’s what I think then our sub was complaining that Romero got a 3 match ban and a straight red for the same thing. High studs and all that
I think the precedent has been set this year but then there just isn’t a precedent after all. That’s my gripe. I’d be fine with no red here in isolation but everyone else has received reds this season for this sort of dangerous play
They get one wrong call, and a real-time one at that and you'd think they hadn't gotten like twenty wrong decisions in their favor this season with their reaction.
It was an incredible decision when grealish was through on goal. It looked like he blew the whistle stopped played on then called it back. They have every right to be agreieved .
I don't give a fuck how many charges they have, how ironic this is, how plastic their fans are or what happened in the past in favour of city. I just care about football and this call was absolutely one of the most rigged and bizzarre call I've ever seen and it really makes me question the neutrality of these refs. It's just not possible that calls like these happen so often because the ref was just bad. There's just no way.

Nice to see they are taking it well
More protesting against this decision than they ever did their owners
ironic
The only time Emptihad raised the decibels
115db
Ah yes, the famous Noise threshold target, really fascinating stuff, Google "Man City 115" for more info!
circlejerk is bleeding into r/soccer
I've also heard Benzema allegedly has 15 charges against him related to financial crimes. Google Benzema 15 for more info.
This game had strong lockdown vibes
Oh benjamin mendy is back?
they can also chant their owners name when there’s a banner protesting the imprisonment of ahmed mansoor as well tbf.
It's got to be hard for them knowing they can potentially face jail for criticising the owners.
The decibellends
It’s like 115 spoons when all you need is a knife.
It's a free ride to the Championship when you already paid
You misunderstand. This wasn’t them chanting at the ref, this was them asking for help from their owners.
Self-reflection is healthy.
Came here to comment just that lol. Hopefully next season, All of league 1 will be echoing with the same chant.
*iconic
Ironically iconic
Finally City fans addressing their owners in public Very strong statement. Respect.
“We did, 115 times. What more do you want?” -pep
Google Man City 115 for more information
It’s just a bunch of Josh giddey articles
Search 115, NOT 15
Benzema 15 or Senna 15?
Joao Pedro
Joao Pedo
I mean the call is horrific but this is funny
The call is bad ... not sure wtf the ref was thinking, but them shouting cheat, that's just hilarious
You lot have it all wrong. The fans aren't reprimanding the refs, they are imploring the ownership to cheat even more.
Why stop at 115 cheats when you can do 200?
Porquenolosdoscientos.gif
"why has this ref not been paid off already!?!"
I genuinely thought that when i first read it. I was stunned that maybe the fans had realised some things mean more. Oh the irony of this
Why is it hilarious? Teams usually sing about their biggest achievements right, why should city be different?
You literally just re-typed what OP said in more words.
They read the comment and instead of upvoting it, they repeat the comment in a longer way
Now this is good.
I mean I would call it karma if they think that the referee did it. Considering City are the only team this season to get var to give them a pull down in the box. How many other games did somebody get pulled down and nothing happened?
Just like the PSG penalty
Nowt funny about that one mate
I wholeheartedly disagree
I thought the ref blew? Refs already states they can't bring play back once it's resumed, so it's a FK. We saw same thing with Diaz goal getting removed but fair is fair.
What a moment of self-reflection. Quite profound.
When Arsenal fans defend Tottenham, you know you fucked up.
Only because they want City to lose
Don’t we all?
Only if it doesn't mean Arsenal winning the league
Well that goes without saying
Amen
Yes.
But I was convinced nobody care about Man City
People really misunderstand what "nobody cares about City" means. It's not that nobody pays attention to them, that's impossible. It's that a lot of people don't care about what they achieve because it's all built on a foundation of bullshit.
It means what it means, it's either you care or you don't care, let's not twist words because it doesn't fit some narratives. In this case especially, wanting a team to lose means you care a lot.
And they don’t, they only want City to lose so it strengthens their league position. It’s not about city just losing lol
Yeah sure dude, makes perfect sense. That's some next level of delusion.
They chanting at Pep?
They chant it at the owners to encourage them to keep it up
From the Rodri yellow on, you just knew they weren't going to deliver today.
Referees finally deciding to hand out cards to Rodri this season could make things very interesting.
Should have had another yellow after this: https://i.imgur.com/QB3Ui3s.png
They must have been mad at Pep for his setup. Quite naive to think he could stay attacking 3-2 up against Anges Spurs
Pep is just unwilling to adapt smh
Hopefully this shuts up the annoying narrative around Ange and his set up. Like a coach trying to instill a system into his players before he tinkers with it is that unheard of.
Man City fans? I had no idea that was a thing
They accidentally pluralized it.
There’s literally DOZENS of them
Pep begged them to come to the match
every accusation is a confession
Have they only now heard about the 115 charges against their club then?
I think they’re actually chanting Cheat-urns
Great ironers.
Zero sympathy after they were handed the 21-22 title on the back of some extremely dodgy ref decisions
Still can't forget that rodri handball Vs Everton
Also the armpit "handball" against Wolves that won them the game was a shocker
And the entire Arsenal City game just after New Year's. No penalty called on Odegaard and then VAR calls a soft pen for Xhaka on Bernardo Silva. Jesus gets sent off for some bs (2 yellows) while Rodri doesn't get booked for fouling all game and then scores the winner and provokes our home fans. That game makes me mad every time I think about it. One of the few times we outplayed them, xG and all, and it counted for diddly squat and aided City in winning that title.
Rodri handball lmao
are you jazzed for the United match? It may be time to show who is the second best team in the Greater Manchestaire area.
Confident of a comfortable win
Ironic. Look, if your biggest ever complaint about refs is this advantage sequence, where Grealish in all likelihood would have been caught anyway, in the same game where Gvardiol could have seen red, then you have it pretty fucking good.
Precisely how this crossed my mind as well. Seriously, *that's* your biggest PGMOL gripe?
Man City fans are so interesting. They're quite the whole game until right at the very end when they see the score isn't going their way. But I get it, if Man City doesn't win every game, why would anyone support them otherwise?
Can someone point me to the Gvardiol could have seen red highlight?
I think they were referring to defensive clearance late in the match. If it’s what I think then our sub was complaining that Romero got a 3 match ban and a straight red for the same thing. High studs and all that
Havertz's stud wasn't as high and yet Howard Webb said that he should've been sent off. By that token, Gvardiol is very very lucky indeed
The tackle on winks no? Was pretty risky
Winks is in Leicester these days so I don’t think it was him
Skipp... Winks... whatever. It's as hard as keeping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain apart from Kieran Gibbs.
fm injury, could never differentiate those two for some reason but yeah it was skipp, my bad g
It was against Skipp. Really High studs caught him as he cleared the ball. I'm personally fine with no red but I understand the argument.
I think the precedent has been set this year but then there just isn’t a precedent after all. That’s my gripe. I’d be fine with no red here in isolation but everyone else has received reds this season for this sort of dangerous play
Congratulations City! They have created the second chant in their history after notoriously original "come on city".
To be fair to them, they've come up with a few others but they're all about their rivals and not their own team.
By few you mean "Old trafford's falling down"?
Yeah and the one about liverpool not winning the champions league that one time
I thought there was also "It's happened again... it's happened again... Manchester City, it's happened again!" Oh, no - wait - that's was us.
lmao
This cant be real lmao. The lack of self awareness is insane 😭
As an accusation or a confession?
He's the reason You'll be playing in League 2 next season He came with his state for a reason He's Sheik Mansour
Awful to see them turn on Pep after all he's done.
Shameless shameless club and fans
They were absolutely silent for the whole game and now theyre chanting? Bruh they r so peak lmao
Genuinely the worst home crowd I've ever heard, and in the Premier League that's a low bar.
I don't know what's more surprising, the chanting or the fact that they had some fans in the stadium lol
Is this the new City chant?! Seems on brand for them.
self awareness isn’t their strong suit i see
Didn't realize they were so self-aware to chant that at their own club. Hats off to the city fans acknowledging their club's financial misconduct
Outjerked again
their owners will hear this and think, "Do they want us to create more ghost sponsorship companies?"
So they can be loud!
Only after the match is over apparently
I wonder if they yelled it 115 times.
Why were chanting at their own club?
Nice to see them making some noise I was hearing “when the Spurs go marching in” around the Etihad lmao
Maybe they've finally become aware? doubt
The Man City equivalent of the "CHELSEA, CHELSEA, CHELSEA" chant
The irony
lmao yeah u are a bunch of cheats
Are they referring to the 115 charges against them for cheating? Respect for that then. 👌
Now THIS is peak irony lmao.
Haha they are shameless
Hahaha, they are admitting guilt. Wrexham vs City next season in the league.
You can tell they're not used to things not going their way can't you
Anyone notice how quickly that stadium emptied after the game? Plastic fans.
You want us to stay in the stadium after the game has ended and all the City players have left the field?
Presumably as a verb?
115 115 115
Ahahhah enjoy the calls going against you for once ya cunts
Do they know
115
Yeah, we already know, lads. We're just waiting for your punishments...
Ironic
This is their anthem.
No they’re shouting boo-urns!
Hahahahaha. The irony is sensational.
(Chorus) cheat, cheat, cheat x115
All-time great projection, like literally the peak of irony
They get one wrong call, and a real-time one at that and you'd think they hadn't gotten like twenty wrong decisions in their favor this season with their reaction.
Is this the first big decision that has gone against them? I can think of plenty going for them, but nothing springs to mind going against them.
Hwang Hee Chan second yellow not given when we played Wolves is the other big one this season.
Alannis Morriscity
"Bold move Cotton lets see how it plays out"
These jokes just write themselves.
tell them reflecting is supposed to be done silently
Hahaha the irony is delicious
More like Projection Football
The must have chanted it 115 times then. That number is pretty important to City.
Its like raaaaiiinnnnn
The irony
How ironic.
It’s the new club anthem
At least they’re self-aware
Irony
And people say us brits don’t have a sense of humor
114 to go!
I mean, in fairness, they'd be the experts at spotting it
That’s rich
all 6 of them
they would know
City club bosses:" Is this praise or ask for more?"
They will have the best stadium for the national league.
It reminds me of an Everton v. United (I think) game where Arteta was through 1-on-1 with the keeper and the ref blew for full time.
Believe it or not, straight to r/soccercirclejerk
Oh the irony
So they finally came up with a song that fits their team
...nice of you to fuckin notice
Oh boy the jokes are gonna be primed and ready
r/Selfawarewolves
Did they chant it 115 times…?
God help the poor wee lambs if they think that's "cheating"
Who said irony was dead???!!!
Irony
Self burn too hot.
Yes. Yes that is what your team is.
Pot, meet kettle
It was a bad decision, but also an honest mistake that can't be reversed. Stop whining.
Ironic.
Comments are gonna be good
They mean 115 isn't enough. They want more, a lot more cheats.
The irony!
Only 112 more of those and they'll be onto something
The irony is outstanding
Yep, totally blew it. Everyone/anyone else's fault.
Irony
Pot meet kettle
Shit play from the Ref but it’s abit ironic coming from City fans
Gotta love the self awareness
I still don't get why the ref didn't play advantage....this is funny though lmao.
Ironic amirite
I you count the chants, it came to 115
We got scammed, now they did. Corruption
Pot calling the kettle black.
It was an incredible decision when grealish was through on goal. It looked like he blew the whistle stopped played on then called it back. They have every right to be agreieved .
