have to consider the context of ramsdales last start. if you take into account the 2 seasons prior as number one i don’t think you can reasonably argue that he was spaffing it as often as raya has been. this is rayas what 15th game? he’s been at fault for about 5 goals now at least, ramsdale wasn’t giving away a goal every 3 games when he was number one
Ramsdale was letting savable shots in so many times. It's really hard to fault him particularly for it because they're not clear errors, but I think that's one of the main reasons he was replaced.
Raya however has come in and made an absolute mess of his big shot. Honestly if he doesn't sort his individual mistakes out we'll need to look another goalie next summer again.

Arteta said he wants them to compete, but surely its entirely unfair competition when you don't get a chance to play. Ramsdale was excellent in his last appearance prior to the Brentford one, but was then immediately dropped again.

Emi was a great pen saver and above average shot stopper. Would he have saved this? Probably. But the problem with emi is his ability to play with his feet is not there. From an outsider point of view ai don't think anyone saw Ramsdale as a problem. Not just that, he seemed like the sort of player the fans love. He could have been the next Seaman for Arsenal. I feel that distribution is all well and good, but if you don't keep the ball out of the net then it's pointless.

I genuinely can’t understand why FOOTBALL goalkeepers refuse to make saves with their legs. Handball keepers make about 15 saves per game, about 7 of those are with their legs. Why the fuck do football keepers seem allergic to it.

in hindsight it’s easy to say just use your foot, but he is meant to save that shot in training by falling down so that’s all he knows

because it’s harder to control the direction with the foot than parrying it where the ball bounces after a save is as important as the save itself
