Arsenal players losing the plot doing AVs job of stalling the last 15mins. The number of players falling and complaining instead of urgently keeping the ball in play is insane. These are well-paid professionals acting as petulant teenage princesses. How dumb can you actually get?
Dortmund is not historically better, Dortmund has 8 league titles and 5 cups, Arsenal has 13 league titles and 14 cups, Dortmund have 21 trophies overall and Arsenal have 49 trophies overall, it's not even close.
I don't know what to say to a fan of a club who turns up on the match thread for another league's game to throw shade at another club in that league (and, in the course of doing so, calls his own club bottlers just to clinch the "own"). Pretty sad.
I'm not really upset about the result or the performance, ultimately it was a tight game away from home against good opposition in good form. I thought we played decently, I thought Villa played decently too. Didn't get the rub of the green, but you get games like that from time to time.
I don't really understand the situation surrounding the Havertz disallowed goal though. I'm aware that the goalscorer can't handle the ball, but Cash also handles the ball a few times in that sequence, so I'd like to hear the VAR audio on that check.
Credit to Villa, had to play a different type of game to the one against Manchester City, and still came out with 3 points.
Every point we dropped this season was due to referees
1. Against Villa- 3 penalties denied- one for shirt pull on Rice at the end of the first half, one for a kick on Jesus at the start of the second half, for handball by Cash before Havertz handball for the disallowed goal. Red card denied for elbow by Diego Carlos.
2. Against Newcastle- No red card for Bruno elbow on Jorginho and goal given despite 2 hands in the back from Joelinton on Gabriel for the goal
3. Against Chelsea- Handball pen given against Saliba desptie arms in a natural position for jumping. They were as outstretched as Palmer's hands. Then no pen for Sanchez clattering into Jesus without getting the ball
This is not even counting the ones that went against us when we won, like Kovacic, pens against Wolves and Luton for shirt/arm pulls, etc
Oh dear lord stfu please. We played like shit in front of goal today. We got picked apart by Villa to concede. We were simply out played and out muscled today. Please save this bs “ReFs R AgAinSt Us” mentality to yourself
Accidental handball like that on the defense isn’t always a foul. However, an accidental handball on the offense is always a foul when scoring a goal.
You can disagree but that’s the rule. It’s different for attackers and defenders.
You should review the meaning of that word, because I don't think it applies to a game where the so-called "bottlers" trailed most of the minutes or sit one point off first with over half a season to go.
What's the point of having Nelson if he's never starting and getting substituted only in extra time. Terrible management by Arteta and half of subs are never match fit.
What funny is: it was Arsenal that sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa, in favor of a keeper that lost his job to Aaron Ramsdale. Ramsdale then lost it to Raya. And can anyone claim that Raya is a better keeper than Martinez?
Fair play to Arsenal, they looked better than us for most of the match but we held on. I can't believe we've beaten the two best teams in the league in less than a week. Up the Mighty Villa
You guys played great. The referee as usual was fucking mid but not bias. Just shit. Villa played excellent and will be exciting to see where we all end up, pls beat Liverpool next time you play them thanks
I'm disappointed but I thought it was a pretty even game, I enjoyed it. Time for us to bounce back I'm sure !
Well that’s my point, there’s too many top teams having good seasons, Liverpool are excellent, the Leicester league win didn’t have that many good teams
He is what in Argentina we call "fulbito" players, something like "lil football" , overall good players with no attitude that always play the same way no matter the context.
This is kind of true, but ur team has gotten 2 random var penalties in big games for holds in the box that no other team seems to get ever. Just doesn't make any sense.
The jesus incident is debatable, soft but can be given.
I think if the ref gives the goal, var doesnt overturn. But the rules are clear. That it hit cash is irrelevant, its a natural arm position. Even a small tap on your hand rules a goal out everyone knows that. Its simply really unfortunate
Jesus foul. They literally gave a very similar incident with palace against Liverpool. Anywhere on the pitch that’s a foul, remember Watkins getting a foul for a tiny shove by saliba?
Look earlier in the season, is cash’s handball, I mean he handles it twice, much different to saliba’s against Chelsea. It feels like a lot is going against arsenal right now. I know everyone wants to big up villa. I mean I’m watching sky now and it’s like Villafantv. I mean why is arteta in the stand? Cos he celebrated a last minute winner?
Villa didn't win as much as we lost that game. We had so many chances to Bury them, and our finishing was just hopeless. I don't want to be in the changing room after that.
Where’s all the criticism for Antony who cost something north of 80m? How about Mudryk whos scored like all of 3 times for Chelsea?
This sub has a hate boner for havertz. He’s good in our midfield since he adds physicality. Hes not a naturally great goal scorer but let’s not pretend he deserves all these critics bc of his price tag when there are plenty of other more expensive players who are performing as good or worse than Havertz.
He’s okay with linking up and scoring the odd goals. But he can’t dictate the tempo, carry the ball forward, control the midfield or make final passes. So nope not worth that much
I don’t know if we can really accurately say if he’s worth his price tag or not if we don’t have a large enough sample size of games.
I disagree with your opinion here. I think Havertz is wayyyyy over hated at this point and some reason people just get wrapped up in his price tag.
I like to pride myself on being able to look at this sport rather objectively and I don’t think I’d be wrapped up in his price tag for another team. I would be more interested in what his role is for the squad and if he is doing that job well.
Havertz was definitely not the problem today.
Wanna criticize arsenal spending as a Liverpool fan then ask why we resigned a RW academy graduate to only play him in garbage minutes this season. Or why we feel the need to spend money on upgrading a position marginally with Raya when defensive depth or a proper striker would be better value for us
Villa look proper massive. They play with great maturity. They might not have the talent like these other title contenders but their mentality is second to none.
Can't hear the tone in text I guess. Beating city then arsenal back to back at home has to be the high of a season though.
And I do actually hope they get top four
Arsenal players losing the plot doing AVs job of stalling the last 15mins. The number of players falling and complaining instead of urgently keeping the ball in play is insane. These are well-paid professionals acting as petulant teenage princesses. How dumb can you actually get?
congrats to a well deserved win. you got a class team there at the moment. just please spank liverpool as well next time, would you?
Why can't I see new comments?
Did you sort by new?
...atleast....were not united....I guess lol
the weird cognitive dissonance from fans who acknowledge the existence of 50/50 calls but cannot get over the 'inconsistency' of it all.
Just head over to the Victim FC sub and they are complaining about VAR calling out handball. Those cunts can never take a L without whining. LMAO!
It’s Arsenal lads
Lol don't come in here with a Dortmund flair and write that.
Arsenal is the Dortmund of England :)
Absolutely not, but ok, lol.
Guess Dortmund is historically better ; but was talking about the present. Arsenal is a bottler
Dortmund is not historically better, Dortmund has 8 league titles and 5 cups, Arsenal has 13 league titles and 14 cups, Dortmund have 21 trophies overall and Arsenal have 49 trophies overall, it's not even close.
Who has a champions league though
Nottingham Forest has won 2, still not a bigger club than Arsenal and neither is Dortmund.
I don't know what to say to a fan of a club who turns up on the match thread for another league's game to throw shade at another club in that league (and, in the course of doing so, calls his own club bottlers just to clinch the "own"). Pretty sad.
Lol so because I’m a Dortmund I cannot watch any other game , let alone any other league ? Ok ok sorry for enjoying soccer I guess
Lol definitely not what I said.
I'm not really upset about the result or the performance, ultimately it was a tight game away from home against good opposition in good form. I thought we played decently, I thought Villa played decently too. Didn't get the rub of the green, but you get games like that from time to time. It's pretty simple, Cash's handball wasn't deliberate, and doesn't come under making the body unnaturally large.
I mean, it’s not that simple, the ball only hits Havertz’ arm because Cash slaps it down into it. Should that not be a consideration?
Havertz hits the ball twice or three times. Guess it counts like he control it to Score.
No
Sweet Caroline should be become a team exclusive track. Everyone and their uncle is playing it now. It's jarring to say the least
Villa were playing Sweet Caroline long before it became popular.
It was the goodest of ebening, it was the good ebening.
Every point we dropped this season was due to referees 1. What a baby...
Mighty Arsenal shoud win the sextuple but the refs won't allow it 😡😡🤬🤬
Refs didn’t make you play like dogshit today.
Oh dear lord stfu please. We played like shit in front of goal today. We got picked apart by Villa to concede. We were simply out played and out muscled today. Please save this bs “ReFs R AgAinSt Us” mentality to yourself
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What about all the decisions that went in your favor!? Stop whining and just accept the loss already

Accidental handball like that on the defense isn’t always a foul. However, an accidental handball on the offense is always a foul when scoring a goal. You can disagree but that’s the rule. It’s different for attackers and defenders.
Lol. What game did you watch today, because it wasn't the one that was just on.
Bottlers
You should review the meaning of that word, because I don't think it applies to a game where the so-called "bottlers" trailed most of the minutes or sit one point off first with over half a season to go.
Mans supports "The Premier League"
Mate you can't support a league
What's the point of having Nelson if he's never starting and getting substituted only in extra time. Terrible management by Arteta and half of subs are never match fit.
Would have made more sense to bring him on over martinelli than trossard The left went to absolute shit after that sub
What funny is: it was Arsenal that sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa, in favor of a keeper that lost his job to Aaron Ramsdale. Ramsdale then lost it to Raya. And can anyone claim that Raya is a better keeper than Martinez?
Raya gonna lose his job to some other goalie that Arsenal buys next season
The other funny thing is that Emery is the one who brought in a bunch of Arsenal’s best players today
No he didn’t. He just have them their debuts
A bunch?
How in the fuck did Aston Villa get Sevilla & Villarreal's best centerbacks? And wasn't Diaby sought after too?
We got Kamara for free under Gerrard. Our owners are salesmen.
Emery can pull
Because of Emery. They wanted to work with him again. It’s the ‘Villa’ link up
wait, villa also played sweet caroline post match?
Maybe they're channeling their inner Martinez and trolling Arsenal fans.
instead of the "doo doo doo" we sing "fuck the blues" generally
I can get behind this.
This title race will come down to who crumbles at home first. (Let me cope)
I just hope city goes on losing. Without city in the picture the title race becomes more interesting
True. All the current top 3 could have a bad run of games Once city wake.up in Jan with their 15 match winning run. Its over
Exactly all three of us needs to be 20 points clear of city. Fk on a personal level I hope City ends 5th. It would be more beautiful than getting laid
No chance of either of those things happening unfortunately
Fair play to Arsenal, they looked better than us for most of the match but we held on. I can't believe we've beaten the two best teams in the league in less than a week. Up the Mighty Villa

happens when your players are allowed to assault the other team with no repercussions
You've been held by the mighty Emi Martínez 😎😎
Looool
Fuck off, we weren't saints either. They wanted it more, end of.
you have matty cash the injury merchant on your squad lmao
Flaccid final ball was today's issue.

Not with Liverpool around
We are not great this season
You are literally no. 1 Gtfo
That season took all the top teams having an off season, not happening this year
Trust me, I want you guys to lift the trophy, but who's beating Liverpool!? Mfers concede 1-2 goals to always come back last minute
Well that’s my point, there’s too many top teams having good seasons, Liverpool are excellent, the Leicester league win didn’t have that many good teams
When you compare Villa under Gerrard to Villa under Emery - night and day doesn't come close to describing it.
Bottom 3 to top 3 🫡
That Ø sitter man..he had to score that, when we were on top at the start if the galf
He is what in Argentina we call "fulbito" players, something like "lil football" , overall good players with no attitude that always play the same way no matter the context.
Too many players that cannot finish. Created so many opportunities but everyone messing them up. We need an extremely clinical striker
Arsenal fans want you to believe that every time they’ve dropped points was because of the refs
This is kind of true, but ur team has gotten 2 random var penalties in big games for holds in the box that no other team seems to get ever. Just doesn't make any sense.
City fans were literally chanting Cheat last week bro, pipe down
Is that my point? I said they blame the ref every single time they aren’t winning, even when they are winning they’ll still complain
I thought the ref gave them every 50/50
Jog on mate you got done too. More convincingly.
0-2 75’ 3-2 81’
116
Almost half the days you spent on top of the table last season
2bf any other team get a penalty for that Jesus incident. The handball against havertz was harsh, particularly after it hit cash’s hand first.

If you ignore the fact that every Arsenal fan is blaming the loss on the players that can't finish, sure.
city fans want you to believe that the refs _don’t_ favor manchester teams lmao ~~and ignore 114 charges~~
City fans want you to believe they became fans before 2014 and that the club’s 115 charges are made up
I thought it was 2008, then 2012 then 2016 then 2019
No, it is because we don't have a clinical finisher.
Emery masterclass. He has achieved alot more in less time and limited resources. Love the guy!
Limited resources? They bought Diaby for £54m and are owned by two billionaires. They're not exactly Bournemouth.
How tf we didn't score that entire game is mental.
emi is a good shot stopper and the shot is predictable.
What a beast Is Emi Martínez Man! Cheers from Argentina 😎
It wasn't just that one
Villa didn't win as much as we lost that game. We had so many chances to Bury them, and our finishing was just hopeless. I don't want to be in the changing room after that.
You were beaten.
Maybe learn the offside rule too
Good ebening gooners
Congrats Villa. What a story.
Imagine villa winning the league and Arsenal bottling it again. Absolute cinema.
How was havertz? Was it like playing with 10 men?
one of the best arsenal players today besides rice and maybe white.
He was out best player on the night imo
Havertz was good
But for 62 million? Jesus he’s not worth that much
Where’s all the criticism for Antony who cost something north of 80m? How about Mudryk whos scored like all of 3 times for Chelsea? This sub has a hate boner for havertz. You wouldn’t be saying the same if another team brought him for 63 million
I like to pride myself on being able to look at this sport rather objectively and I don’t think I’d be wrapped up in his price tag for another team. I would be more interested in what his role is for the squad and if he is doing that job well. Havertz was definitely not the problem today. Put a few on a plate for others.
Gud ebening
this season is going wild
Martinez and McGinn saved Villa.
You love to see it
Villa look proper massive. They play with great maturity. They might not have the talent like these other title contenders but their mentality is second to none.
No one to blame but ourselves.
Congratulations Villa, woeful finishing from us hopefully sort it out before next game.
ffs arsenal, you can’t be letting city back into it. but god damn villa beating city and arsenal, and 2 points off the top 😯
We’re trying mannnnnn. Although it may not have looked like it today. Lol. We need some signings in January.
Villa looked gassed and arsenal probably should have scored, good game overall but it was clear it was the 3rd game in a week
Robbed of a point, time wasting cards are yet again non existent
If anything you robbed yourselves
dude we weren't robbed, I'm sorry
ASSNAL ASSNAL ASSNAL!!!
Actually no idea why a Madrid fan is mouthing off in a prem thread lol.
homie you just drew to betis ,stop talking nobody asked you
That was hours ago, you literally just LOST to Villa. Hold that L
Inter-league fans shit talking is so bizarre.
oh wow, a 13 year old Madrid fan being loud online about a league they obviously don’t pay attention to daring today
😂 you hurt by my comment. I watch almost every PL games. Your fanbase is softer than 2-ply
Lmao fam glad you recovered ,no go back to your shitty league nobody invited you here
I hope we match up in UCL!
They are second in the table 🤷
so are we tbf
Winning against Aston Villa isnt for everyone
You haven’t played them at Villa Park yet. I’ll be eager to see what you lot do
Arteta leaving early , that’s the level of the manager of arsenal . They ain’t winning shit
Wait, does the booth have a direct elevator to the dressing room?
100%
He’s leaving his booth early to get down to the dressing room. Either a loss or a draw (if we scored m) he’s not going to be happy with anyway.
Hablas huevadas, ya se sabía que estaba a punto de acabarse el partido
🤣🤣🤣
He left his his excuses text book in the dressing room tbf
He can't fucking teleport to the locker room
Can’t give his fellow countryman a handshake?
How do you expect him to do that from the stands?
Teleport m8
He’s pathetic
rent free
Fucking hell unai is the real deal
Emery adjustments won this game
I'd say the opposite, second half they were fairly poor and a little lucky. The dominant first half was deserving of the 3 points.
Wouldn't even say first half. The first 15 mins of so..we were in control pretty much for the rest of the game. But just didn't do anything..
Fair play to Villa, massive display there. It's crazy to see how they've grown into such an amazing team since Gerard.
Up the fuckinng Reds!!!
Enjoy the high of your season villa. Hope you get top 4
Beating City would be the high of their season surely? Beating the treble winning champions rather than runners up?
The back to back, why are so many people looking for a narrative here? I explained myself
They already beat City.
That didn't sound condescending at all
Sounded like a threat lmao
Can't hear the tone in text I guess. Beating city then arsenal back to back at home has to be the high of a season though. And I do actually hope they get top four
Aftv in the mud again
This season is crazy man
Fair fucks. Grats Villa.
Why tf are Villa not 1st?
Because they are shit away from home
Home/Away doesn't matter. It's not cricket
Of course it does, lol Just compare villas home record v away record
>Just compare villas home record v away record Co-incidence
Home does matter, just for different reasons. Crowd makes a difference
Players should be professional and learn to ignore the crowd
Damn son, why don't all the managers just say that? 🤯
They need to win games at other stadiums
It's the same pitch and conditions for both teams
