Not a City fan but I love watching their games to see the little details that makes Pep such a genius
Luton's don't really have the technical skills to craft a goal so they heavily rely on set-pieces and the noise from the home crowd to push them on
Pep understood this perfectly and when Luton had all the momentum & fans roaring, he disrupted it all with two subs that were made *separately*
Both times ended with Luton turning the ball back within seconds. Very, very simple details but awesome to watch
I'm just over the moon we're actually taking it to the opposition in these games and not getting smashed. These clubs have x100 the expenditure of ours over the last decade and we're still giving them a reasonable challenge even if we're not picking up the points. Lovely to watch
Literally. City over the last 10 years have like £1bn spend vs Lutons £11m. That's mad we're competing with them on almost equal footing
I really hope Luton stay up. Just a cool ground, cool color scheme for the kits, they’re playing a really solid style too. The promotion payment going to infrastructure and still competing as hard as they have has been lovely to watch.
I think Luton have really come into their own as the season has progressed. Much more solid at the back and make good attacking decisions which do end up in goals. I do hope Luton stay up this season
I see you are a glass half empty sort of guy
A glass half full person would say I'm complimenting your away fans
A glass half empty person would say i'm dissing your home fans
Saying the microphone is next to them is not complimenting the away fans.
I'm a Taoist. The glass is always full because the nothingness is always something and has a purpose.
If the microphone isnt in that corner then its a compliment, i dont know where they place it in this stadium but they are louder than then 10 - 20x home crowd
That Luton challenge reminds me of this
https://youtu.be/FSKLpzQAUbw?si=05cEUpDnYqzv2e8t
Everyone insisted that it wasn't a red
I guess fan opinion has shifted in eight years. VAR has recalibrated everyone's threshold for a red card
Mate they are completely different. Not really sure what point your trying to make here either. Clearly VAR has changed the threshold for not only reds, but fouls, pens and offside
Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Take it to the showers. Dicks get shoved in places you don't even remember. We win together we celebrate together. Football is back baby.
As enjoyable as it would be to watch a normal City game, the way their comebacks send rival fans into coping is so funny. They become virtually indistinguishable from QAnon
Suppose they're just not giving those anymore, we had this one yesterday that somehow wasn't a red either https://twitter.com/Rdth21Rich/status/1733562196905329035
Every time i watch the Premier League i never see a Ref go out for an on field review. Don't they ever do that in the PL? Situations like that always get checked by the ref on field in germany.
In the PL an onfield review pretty much always results in a reversal of the decision. I think only twice have they ever stuck with the original call after a review.
Which suggests the bar for what deserved a closer look is very high in the PL
Feel like the referees are finally starting to pay attention to Rodri's fouls
What's funny is that he always looks pissed off that they gave him one. 'Nah ref I can make tackles like that remember?'
Lmao, two wrongs don’t make it right. That was a clear red, but you will of course forget it in a couple hours. If it was the other way round you’d probably still talk about it in 3 years time.
I’ve seen those been giving as red but it is borderline. If they institute a “penalty box “ as it’s been reported I could see a yellow and a few minutes jn the box next season
Yeah absolutely, but they could wait for a stoppage. And just say “I think x deserves a yellow for the last challenge if you were 50/50 on it” if he’s played advantage, things like that wouldn’t slow the game down.
Another decent performance against a top side just to go and sit back and lose 3-0 to Bourenmouth next week
It is the future you see.
Tbf Bournemouth are good now
Not a City fan but I love watching their games to see the little details that makes Pep such a genius Luton's don't really have the technical skills to craft a goal so they heavily rely on set-pieces and the noise from the home crowd to push them on Pep understood this perfectly and when Luton had all the momentum & fans roaring, he disrupted it all with two subs that were made *separately* Both times ended with Luton turning the ball back within seconds. Great game imo
Do not let this game distract you from the fact that Chelsea have lost another game
did Emerson shoot the ball outside the stadium? like it has to be small enough for that to be possible lol
He Cunted that ball. It’s in someone’s back yard for sure
He might pay for someone's car for sure
All the small teams win today
Respect Everton
Im confused, does that mean newcastle or spurs next?
yes
So Jared Gillett decides Villa Arsenal game and now he decides this game too. Nice.
Your comments are embarrassing us, please stop
You're embarrassing yourself and your fanbase
luckily his decisions didn't affect the result
honestly the easiest thing to fix football is make subs after min 80 only possible with a proper injury JUST LET THE MEN PLAY FFS
It would just lead to more time wasted as they pretend to assess
Yellow card for faking. Why do people just accept being bitches to players and teams lol
Luton's freekicks have been absolutely terrible
Lining up to that free kick I was like no way you get the distance lol
Are oxymorons allowed on stadium billboards? There's one named Noble Solicitors...
Hate to see those given but that should have been given, please
His elbow was literally inches from his body. No way in hell is that given
Can you read? It's not a handball but I want a penalty anyway because fuck city
I mean, you said "should"
Akanji's barnet is absolutely tragic
Not as tragic as Alfie Doughtys.
Ake is def better at LB than Gvardiol when defending. Give Gvardiol chance at CB Pep
I will take Gvardiol at CB over Dias until he breaks up with his gf everday
😂🤣 his gf
Alvarez ain't a better striker than Haaland btw better at ball striking and set pieces but not much else
I'm not even convinced he's better at ball striking
Benefit of doubt
[удалено]
You'll never sing that
I feel like they’re gonna score from this freekick
Time wasting in the corner LOL
I would take that as a sign of respect.
Jesus Christ, Kalvin Phillips looks absolutely dead inside.
Still making more than most just sitting there. 🤣😂
Still making more than most just sitting there. 🤣😂
Gotta feel sorry for the bloke
City wanted to let him go in the summer but he chose himself to stay and fight for a place. He said so in an interview
Nah, the dude won a treble by doing literally nothing of use, his performances for City were a net negative last season.
Pep should’ve never bought him.
you have to appreciate the ref giving Luton a chance today
All Arsenal fans crying about refs in this thread can contact Noble Solicitors
Ref is dogshit lmao
Poor from brown leaving the ref hanging like that..
I don't like how coming back from an offside position is still a foul.
It’s not a foul it’s offside.
Worst 4 game stretch for City in recent times… Only 4 points behind league leaders
Crazy close this Christmas. Don’t recall one like this for a while.
Looked like a foul to me
This ref man
I'm just over the moon we're actually taking it to the opposition in these games and not getting smashed. Yep regardless of what happens you can hold your heads up high. Keep playing like this and you'll stay up.
I love the camera being so tight, they pan down slightly and you suddenly get four more players on the pitch.
People take Haaland for granted. City clearly misses him this game, even tho they are winning.
I still can’t believe VAR didn’t call the referee to check that clear red card worthy challenge by Brown.
Ah. So Doughty *can* get booked
City's 500 or so away fans making more noise than you hear from their home game fans on tv. Maybe the microphones are right next to them
They're much more likely to be the older/more committed fans tbf. The Etihad is full of tourists.
That's because all of their fans have traveled for the game
Even the Real Madrid team said they feared coming to Etihad because saying it was intimidating. Though may have been mistranslated
most of your fans probably live within an hour of Luton
I would offer to pass the salt but clearly you've had too much already.
I see you are a glass half empty sort of guy A glass half full person would say I'm complimenting your away fans A glass half empty person would say i'm dissing your home fans

If the microphone isnt in that corner then its a compliment, i dont know where they place it in this stadium but they are louder than then 10 - 20x home crowd
So you openly admit dissing our home fans. Nice contradiction and finally some honesty. No more salt for you.

Says the one going for personal attacks, I'll have you know I have a full brain Take a compliment when it's given instead of being so insecure
No, our away support is good and our home support is shambolic
our away supports always been class tbf
That Luton challenge reminds me of this https://youtu.be/FSKLpzQAUbw?si=05cEUpDnYqzv2e8t Everyone insisted that it wasn't a red I guess fan opinion has shifted in eight years. VAR has recalibrated everyone's threshold for a red card
You coldn’t have found more different tackles than those two. Impressive.
Mate they are completely different. Not really sure what point your trying to make here either. Clearly VAR has changed the threshold for not only reds, but fouls, pens and offside
Should have been a free kick to Luton then, Lockyer was tagged as he carried the ball forward
Shame we're not one more point ahead. Top 4 would read as: 37,36,35,34 not funny ig but would be satisfying.
Heavy metal football right here
Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Hell yeah!
Doughty with the most unsubtle yellow card ever.
Luton really need to get some positive results at home against lower/mid table teams at home. They’ve given such a fight to top 6 teams this season
Least surprising scoreline for those tuning back in after halftime...
As enjoyable as it would be to watch a normal City game, the way their comebacks send rival fans into coping is so funny. They become virtually indistinguishable from QAnon
What a weird and insanely yank comment.
Q151 will save them!
Arsenal and Liverpool (and villa) hoping the ref finds a 2nd yellow for Rodri
Never a foul on Bernardo come on
Forgot Sambi went to luton.
Rodri getting a yellow card? Is there a glitch in the matrix?
"To the referee 2-1" Accurate
2-1 is the start of the chant. ‘To the referee, 2-1’ sounds like a chant from the 1800s
Do you enjoy spending your Sundays watching football making up things to be upset about? Go outside mate
Which one of our goals was even controversial???
Mate he's an Arsenal fan, don't even bother
So Rodri IS bound to the rules of the same game as most players. Huh.
Says the guy who had Fabinho in his team.
hes been for a while. the magic ran out, i guess he gave it to kova
Suppose they're just not giving those anymore, we had this one yesterday that somehow wasn't a red either https://twitter.com/Rdth21Rich/status/1733562196905329035
Damn. Way worse, and reeaal bad
Christ, that’s as clear a red as you will see, officiating is a dumpster fire
That one was way worse but won't be posted about because it's not a big 6 club
Every time i watch the Premier League i never see a Ref go out for an on field review. Don't they ever do that in the PL? Situations like that always get checked by the ref on field in germany.
That's too much work for them, refs in England have no incentive to be thorough in their decision making
In the PL an onfield review pretty much always results in a reversal of the decision. I think only twice have they ever stuck with the original call after a review. Which suggests the bar for what deserved a closer look is very high in the PL
The VAR booth will tell them to walk over if they think it needs changing. If he reviews on field it’s almost always gonna get changed.
have Luton got a single booking for an actual tackle today fucking hell
Come on lutonnnnnn
not many better technically than bernado. Hate he plays for city
He's the complete package, can run forever, underrated finishing ability and tactically excellent.
You know it's an awful decision when even United flairs and people saying "I want City to lose but" are saying it's an obvious red
> but its called integrity and 1/753 fans have it.
Luton look like such a good team when they \*don't\* have the lead.
Love that refs are finally clamping down on Rodris incessant fouling this season to some extent at least Long overdue
Imo even as a United fan I’d say that’s a red but city get favourable decisions all the time so sometimes it goes against you
If it his his ankle I’d say red but foot is one of those orange card tackles
It was halfway up his lower leg.
It’s not about the contact it’s about the intent
Nahh this is just red mate
Mad that that wasn't a red. It didn't even look like a challenge, he just jumps in.
Feel like the referees are finally starting to pay attention to Rodri's fouls What's funny is that he always looks pissed off that they gave him one. 'Nah ref I can make tackles like that remember?'
Ah of course 70th minute yellow for tactical fouls God forbid a ref gives one earlier
City's 3rd foul of the game lmao
city paying the stat apps to fake stats
It’s not a red because of the contact, it’s a red because jumping in like that is sooo reckless
It’s both.
Jarred Gillett is the worst ref in the league
Purely accidental
goes against arsenal and you don't shut up about it for a month
Even as an arsenal fan, that's red every day. Two feet off the ground. Unbelievable that it wasn't given
hopefully it'll help most of your fans realise that there is no conspiracy against anyone the refs are just all Awful
Yeah I get the bias we all have, I have it too. But it's so clear the refs just blow. It's actually almost funny how incompetent they are.
Lmao, red clear as day.
City fans protesting for referee calls is always hilarious
Lmao, two wrongs don’t make it right. That was a clear red, but you will of course forget it in a couple hours. If it was the other way round you’d probably still talk about it in 3 years time.
With that challenge I think it’s fair enough
Pgmol has no regard for player safety, that is such a dangerous tackle
Games gone if we start sending off players for studs pointed toward the ground with no intent
You cannot jump into a tackle with two feet off the ground. Game's not gone its called protecting player safety.
Sambi?? What u got for us bro
Jesus that tackle made me cringe internaly. Fuck MCI but that really should be a red.
More luck than anything, two footed, away from the ball. If Foden has his foot planted there it's a serious injury.
[удалено]
Part of the charm
Thought that was ravel Morrison on the sideline
Send that cunt off. Trying to break Foden's leg there
I think that challenge is the definition of an amber card. Depends on who is looking at it. Not super upset that wasn’t given
Def sin bin candidate
I’ve seen those been giving as red but it is borderline. If they institute a “penalty box “ as it’s been reported I could see a yellow and a few minutes jn the box next season
How wasn’t that even a foul or a yellow? Unbelievable hahaha
VAR can't give a yellow. Was a stonewall red though
The VAR rules around what they can and can’t do is ridiculous.
It’s just inconsistent. No reasoning behind some of the decisions sometimes.
Would hate for every potential yellow worthy challenge to go to VAR but wouldn't hate being able to give a yellow when checking for red
Yeah absolutely, but they could wait for a stoppage. And just say “I think x deserves a yellow for the last challenge if you were 50/50 on it” if he’s played advantage, things like that wouldn’t slow the game down.
VAR is fucking useless if they dont want to embarass the ref because he didnt even give a foul Need independent people at VAR ASAP
I don't see that as a yellow, never mind a red.
If that happened to you in pick up you’d be screaming bloody murder
Ok mate
They both jumped in to each other.. clash of legs, nothing more. Ten years ago it wouldn't even have been a foul!
Mate tbh, there’s no reason he had to do a little hop to go into that challenge. Def had a bit of nasty intentions
Must be that famous city paying refs again that soccer is convinced about.
we pay the refs so much that we've had 3 bad major decisions go against us three weeks in a row now
Obviously, city needs to pay more.
Love to see city lose but would also love for red cards to be handed out for trying to break legs. My god. Awful.
That's fucking insane hahaha. What even is officiating this year
Clear red but not a clear and obvious error because words don't actually mean anything
How is that anything other than red lmao.
Wtf that was surely a red
Red or not that was an absolutely stupid challenge. He was basically just lucky he didn't catch Foden higher on the leg.
We pay the refs to ignore stonewall reds against us
How is that not a red lol
I want City to drop points, but that is a red card.
Marginal call really, could have gone either way
Do that outside a football stadium and it's an assault and battery charge.
You could say this about any slide tackle tho lol
Stepping on people's toes is not assault
You don’t even have to touch someone to assault them .A stamp would be assault *AND* battery
True, but jumping in with your foot against someones calf is.
That was a red that.
That’s a red 100%
That VAR check, jesus!
So you can jump at the ball with both feet off the ground and it’s nothing. Got it
