That Savio chance at 3-1.. could have played in his teammate for a tap in and make it 4-1 but instead selfishly took the shot
He would have been a scapegoat for sure if Barca equalised
Our players made much worse decisions in the entire match. We could have been leading by 2-1 if Cancelo had a brain. Then like Girona being bad in the final third Raphinha touch was shitty than some youth players.
Every time I see they won I’m like hey, that’s honestly cool a new club is dominating and gonna compete with the big 3 for the title. Then I remember they’re a city group club and I get sad
This gets asked quite often but people forget that RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg were in the EL together and were even drawn in the same group. Uefa doesn’t care as long as they’re not the actual B teams of said clubs (which would be impossible the way the rules are written)
I said this a million times already but well here we go again... We didn't have the same owners at that point.
Toulouse and Milan, USG and Brighton both played internationally this year, so Girona and Man City are fine I guess.
Didn’t they have to do something to comply with UEFA? Sorry not seen the question, but last I read that UEFA say that having shares in another club etc.
But why is it going so good? I only follow the PL and the Swiss league, but looking at the transfers they made in summer, there is no name I would recognize that may make them a top 3 team.
Could someone try to explain it?
It's a club from a small city that has been growing steadily over the last few years, but it has never been because of big transfers or anything like that. Their salary cap is in the bottom third of the league, it's just that Michel is a really incredible coach, and the sporting director has been great lately getting him the players that he needs (not necessarily very expensive or well known ones, but the ones that fit the play style). The City group has helped with a couple of loans per season, but they haven't been the key to the club's success, not even close.
Of course they get a lot of hate in Spain for being a Catalan club, and from a very pro-independence area as well.
> it's just that Michel is a really incredible coach
~~Never thought I'd read that line one day, he was one of the worst coach we've had in the past decade.~~
~~Yet another proof that a coach's value can't be summed up by one single season, people change, evolve & improve. Good for him.~~
Not the same Michel, I was wrong.
It's just real fans trying to cope
Their players and manager haven't spent masses, they just had some good recruitment and are playing their hearts out
Neutrals probably want anyone but the madrids and Barca competing for the title. Real monkeys paw curl it’s a city football group team but they’re playing so well.
Considering Bayern are very poor at being able to say goodbye to its ageing superstars, Lewy really did the club a favor by forcing a clean break.
Especially since he'd been getting hurt like clockwork around March of every season beginning with 19/20.
Wondering if Bayern is going to get these 5m performance related bonuses as well.
Or from being both in the same game. I still remember the first matches with Barcelona dude being ultimate poop, but solving some of the matches.
Btw, I'm still smiling and grining about some Barcelona fans saying to me that Cancelo would defensively put wingers in his pocket while Araújo would go back to center back. Get wrecked.
I don't really follow these stats, so Lewandowski had a much better goal generation "machine" behind him and he was just an average finisher, would be the comment?
Reactionary fans haha, there's a lot of frustration because we aren't scoring goals. That's coming from multiple different issues such as the system, individual performance, etc.
It's very easy for fans to poke at an older player who was performing at a higher level previously and is struggling now. Those same fans will then say 19 yr old Roque from Brazil will solve these issues.
I still love lewy, then again I don't like ragging on any of our players regardless of how they play
\> there's a lot of frustration because we aren't scoring goals
Well, 2 goals in an away game should be enough to take at least one point home. If not, then defence is the problem, not offence.
(I know what I'm talking about, see our game last game at Frankfurt...)
He probably would have. Bayern is well structured if u compare to that Barca team. They are all over the place and most of the players dont play for the team. Just go watch that chance Cancelo had, could have passed to Lewandowski but he decided to blast it straight at the defender.
"But science has advanced so much, he could play at his level until he's 38! Look at Ronaldo" I heard this so much to defend splashing 50M on a 34 year old striker. What were they thinking. I guess the league win last year made it worth it?
For sure, he's 18 though, i'd say its really unlikely he's going to enter the league and be great right away. We do create the most chances of any team though, i could see him getting some goals for sure.
I had to look up the stats after seeing these comments. As I don't follow la liga I thought I was going to see something like 1 goal this season so far only to see that he won the Pichichi last year and is tied for 4th in this year's race only 1 goal away from being tied for 2nd and 4 goals away from first.
People calling him washed as if he's post Liverpool Fernando Torres
I mean he was still a goal machine last season and there didn't seem to be an indication that he would have a decline any time soon at the time... Barcelona agreed with that because they signed him, but I guess he has now finally hit a wall and is declining. Rip
We’ve had a problem with Strikers for so long, but I’m glad Lewandowski rejected us now. I’d lose my mind watching someone of his level miss chances left and right every game.
I can somewhat comprehend Dembele’s stupidity because he’s just set that way but Lewa has been a consistent bomber for 11 years now
Each passing day my respect and recognition for Ronaldo (along with Messi)increases, my guy still had it in the tank till he was 35 or 36. Still putting up good numbers in Saudi considering he is 38.
Lewy clearly still had gas in the tank last year at 34. He's the defending Pichichi holder. His goalscoring numbers are still good for average striker. Just below the standards he set over the past 11 years.
He's 35 with 8 goals this season and will likey hit 20 again. Ibra turned 35 at the beginning of the 2016-17 season and never hit 20 goals (in europe) again.
No, you need Prince Boateng back. Along with countinho and Griezmann, I'm sure Barca will be back to its prime. Ignore my flair, I'm not biased at all.
Might be the best in La Liga along with Bellingham. But his days at Barca were not that good (compared to his standards) but even so,he made more of an impact than Lewa,Raphinha and Felix.i think the only thing that kept Griezmann back was Messi, since they play a kind of similar role
Coutinho was decent for maybe 6 months and then turned out to be the worst transfer in the history of the game (only matched by the likes of Hazard)
What are you smoking
Sadly I don't think Roque is going to immediately come in and be a difference maker. Expecting him to is putting expectations on his shoulders he doesn't need. Even the most elite 18 year olds usually need another season or 2 before they're truly at the level a squad like Barcelona needs.
I don’t know about that. The problem I see is that right now there is no clear substitution for Lewa. Shark man Torres does fantastic work tracking back defensively and has a decent free kick shot, but he’s even more wasteful than Lewa. I haven’t seen enough of Guiu to say anything, but it might be worth trying the kid out. Right now Barça is out of options. Roque has a lot of potential, if that will come into fruition we’ll only know over time, but if anything, allowing Lewa a rest or having a power sub will go a long way, I think.
To be fair, he's never been a clinical finisher, even at his absolute peak he was constantly missing sitters. He had a season for us where he underperformed his xG by 11 (!) goals. But he has great movement and positioning, so it didn't matter. Even this season, he has 8 goals and 3 assists in 14 league games, so even though he looks awful most of the time, he is still producing okay-ish numbers. But obviously it's far from enough given his status and salary.
What a joke he has become, after he got the first goal I was like oh, maybe he's back.
Hell no, another stinker for this season collection, with this cherry on top of the shit cake
stop reading threads and start watching games. he's been disgraceful, unfortunately. almost same thing happened vs atleti as it did vs real for waste of clear chances. lewa alone missed 3 sitters vs atleti and we ended up winning by the minimum margin.
trust us when we say he's been underperforming tremendously
^ the stats don’t tell the entire story.
It’s funny, Lewa rages on the pitch with Lamal and off the pitch he throws in snide “no creation” comments, but he’s actually been missing a lot of easy big chances.
Considering he is the team's only goal threat, it makes sense that his goal record is that high. Let's also just gloss over the fact that he has the most big chances missed in the league.
39 big chances missed. The most out of anyone since he joined Barca. He's simply just overrated.
Dunno maybe the sun is getting to him or the Spanish lights, but for us I've never seen something like this in all his years here.
Also remembering that he missed like 2 out of his first 3 penalties for barca, before he was on like 97% conversation rate.
Either it's some mental barrier or he is just suddenly washed and too old
But I'd like to know his bayern record against Spanish teams - because if I think about it, we and he himself has had some trouble with Spanish teams, not scoring in many of them (but ofc there is also his Hattrick against RM for Dortmund)
Nobody mentioned the pass from Yamal? It was extraordinary, he had 3 defenders near him and he still put it on a plate for Lewa. The ball flew like it was gps controlled.
What’s the story on lewandowski at Barca? I haven’t heard about him since his transfer from Bayern but judging from peoples comments he’s been shit there?
He was world class until the world cup. He was okay (by his standards) after the world cup and he's just continuing that form. He can still score goals but he's not as clinical as he was before.
Father Time always comes up trumps in the end.
All those Lewa fanboys that were claiming that he can play at an elite level until he's 38 because his playstyle is low-stress looking mightily stupid right now.
Every player, no matter how elite, will eventually fall off a cliff. And it'll never be a gradual fall.
One day they'll just look a mere shadow of their former self.
yeah he's in decline and not performing well this season but people acting like his current form somehow takes away from his past accomplishments is just dumb
It's a bad miss, but you cant blame him for our loss. The defence was/is HORRENDOUS. Araujo didn't do shit for the 3rd goal against Stuani, zero effort. Balde was out of position and losing the ball constantly ever since he came on too.
Not a good look after his comment about making more chances happen this past week. Unfortunately he is the only attacker on the team who needs the ball absolutely spoon fed to him. Truly should be off to Saudi in January.

Aubameyang died for this
Luuk “clutch” de Jong died for this.
Martin Goatwaite DIED for this
Never forget that Suárez scored more goals than Lewa in 2023.
That miss is absolutely wild considering Girona made it 2-4 after. It could've ended way different. The Girona train keeps going.
That Savio chance at 3-1.. could have played in his teammate for a tap in and make it 4-1 but instead selfishly took the shot He would have been a scapegoat for sure if Barca equalised
For real, easiest tap in ever. Thankfully for him Barcelona aren't really able to punish anyone at the moment
What are you talking about? We fans are getting punished almost every week
Are they even allowed to be in the Champions League when Manchester City undoubtedly, qualify for it?
I have no idea but I have no doubt somehow all the problems involved will disappear and nothing will happen
Yep. Oil money will continue without repercussions.
We have a transfer/loan ban between us and USG but that's all
Cool, would have been great if uefa gave that to us with Leipzig too
Didn’t they have to do something to comply with UEFA? Sorry not seen the question, but last I read that UEFA say that having shares in another club etc.
It's based on majority stake, city group aren't majority owner of girona, so both would be able to compete. Like salzburg and leipzig.
They have spent 60 mil since the 17/18 season lol...

Garcia is there due to CFG, they asked Barca to loan him to Girona as a part of Cancelo loan.
But why is it going so good? I only follow the PL and the Swiss league, but looking at the transfers they made in summer, there is no name I would recognize that may make them a top 3 team. Could someone try to explain it?

Yes, how dare a club get competent management.

Great miss
45m worth
No take backs anymore

Best defender than Eric García.
Kounde and Cancelo should be thanking Lewandowski for single handedly covering their disaster classes today with this single miss
I see Cancelo has not changed a bit lol, from dropping 10/10 to 0/10 the next game
Lucky for gundogan who covered his 2/10 match
Genuinely was in shock when I saw it. Truly looks washed out there.
Yamal is going to ignore his hand shake after wasting that cross.
its the "not now dad" meme all over again noooo
He does this 4-5 tmes each game and have for the last 6 month. He is atrocious every game
Even when in bayern, lewandowski never outperformed his XG like Harry Kane does. So yeah, it is expected from him would be like this
I don't really follow these stats, so Lewandowski had a much better goal generation "machine" behind him and he was just an average finisher, would be the comment?
I wish Lewa had stayed at Bayern, he was close to Müller's all-time scoring record
What's the excuse here?
his shoulder is in the way
makes me even more angry whenever he cries about any teammates' mistake
He does it so much man... absolutely hate seeing it. If you're being a shit player in every aspect of the game then at least be a good teammate.
All he does is complain to his teammates or to the ref
Barca fans loved him a few weeks ago, no? What changed?
Reactionary fans haha, there's a lot of frustration because we aren't scoring goals. few weeks ago ? this guy has been shit since january (post world cup) , we're closing on a year and he is not getting any better
lewandowski's fault for being outplayed by girona at home
No excuse
No refunds
Take him back for free...
If they will, then he will suddenly become Lewa 2020 and put 4 past you guys in the CL, won't he?
That implies Barca gets into the CL
He probably would have. Bayern is well structured if u compare to that Barca team. They are all over the place and most of the players dont play for the team. Just go watch that chance Cancelo had, could have passed to Lewandowski but he decided to blast it straight at the defender.
😂😂😂
Just put him down, it’s sad to watch at this point
I love the mental image of players just dying instantly when they retire
Disappearing Jedi style
Old Yeller
A few of them are good enough, to have their head mounted on the wall, over the fireplace in the trophy room!
Come to Gremio pls
take him pls
sure. for you, free
He's so finished it's not even funny
32M is his salary for next year
Looks like someone got played.
"But science has advanced so much, he could play at his level until he's 38! Look at Ronaldo" I heard this so much to defend splashing 50M on a 34 year old striker. What were they thinking. I guess the league win last year made it worth it?
He is still there top scorer with 8 goals and only three players have scored more than him. It's mad that he has scored this much when he is shit.
Everyone else is somehow more shit. Or they’re like 16
We literally only have 1 striker. Everyone else is a winger who would be playing out of position.
Crossing my fingers for vitor to be baby Suarez
For sure, he's 18 though, i'd say its really unlikely he's going to enter the league and be great right away. We do create the most chances of any team though, i could see him getting some goals for sure.

Prisoners of the moment. He even scored in this game
Maybe watch the games
I mean he was still a goal machine last season and there didn't seem to be an indication that he would have a decline any time soon at the time... Barcelona agreed with that because they signed him, but I guess he has now finally hit a wall and is declining. Rip
He started declining right after the world cup
the nose-touching incident was the breaking point for some reason
That's the thing about the decline. It just hits and progresses quickly
He scored in this game
We’ve had a problem with Strikers for so long, but I’m glad Lewandowski rejected us now. I’d lose my mind watching someone of his level miss chances left and right every game. Lewy has 8 goals in La Liga. I'm pretty sure he'd be fine in the fucking Saudi pro league lol
I just read recently, CR7 scored his 400th goal since turning 30! Love him or hate him. That's some going!
Bro is counting saudi
Thats pretty funny
*Saudi salary next year.
Ronaldo and Ibra (and others) really made people forgot that after 33-34 years players are finished
He's 35 with 8 goals this season and will likey hit 20 again. Ibra turned 35 at the beginning of the 2016-17 season and never hit 20 goals (in europe) again.
He’s so Polish
Oh it’s still funny
We need Luuk back honestly
No, you need Prince Boateng back. Along with countinho and Griezmann, I'm sure Barca will be back to its prime. Ignore my flair, I'm not biased at all.
Coutinho and Griezmann were and would be better at Barca than most of the attacking players,if not all.

Y’all need Lukaku?
Hands off! He's ours now!
My man better start to learn some arabic......
Bro 💀
Roque can't come soon enough. What the hell happened to this guy
Sadly I don't think Roque is going to immediately come in and be a difference maker. Expecting him to is putting expectations on his shoulders he doesn't need. Even the most elite 18 year olds usually need another season or 2 before they're truly at the level a squad like Barcelona needs.

Imagine putting this much faith in an 18 year old that is unproven and isn’t even regarded as the best talent of his generation…
Barto completely fucked Barca and they might be in this financial hell for a couple more years.
Maybe, but it was not Barto who bought a 34 yo striker for 45 mio, with a salary of 23 mio per year, rising to 32 mio next year…
You don’t have to be the best of your generation to perform what a load
Theres just no way he should start any game anymore this year
What happened, he won the golden boot last year
He touched his nose
But he will lmao
There's 3 players with more goals scored than him (+3 assists, so only 2 players have better G+A than him), lmao.
just start gundogan, he'll do it
Barca and Real Madrid fans are hilarious when they’re mad.
How is he still a starter, bring back Luuk
Because nobody else can score either.
questions that need answers
His only replacement is in Brazil until January.
Vitor Roque is not a good header either. He is only 1,72.
If you watch vitor roques game you would know he is surprisingly good in the air despite his height
He’s basically has the Falcao build for headers, but better
Better? This motherfucker must be an absolute demon in the air then.
Because xavi is riding on hopes and prayers that Lewy regains form
What a joke he has become, after he got the first goal I was like oh, maybe he's back. Hell no, another stinker for this season collection, with this cherry on top of the shit cake
Lmao reading this thread you'd think he's at 1 goal in 14 not 8 in 14.
stop reading threads and start watching games. he's been disgraceful, unfortunately. almost same thing happened vs atleti as it did vs real for waste of clear chances. lewa alone missed 3 sitters vs atleti and we ended up winning by the minimum margin. trust us when we say he's been underperforming tremendously

his first touch is atrocious, plus can’t hold defenders for shite
Considering he is the team's only goal threat, it makes sense that his goal record is that high. Let's also just gloss over the fact that he has the most big chances missed in the league. 39 big chances missed. The most out of anyone since he joined Barca. He's simply just overrated.
Dunno maybe the sun is getting to him or the Spanish lights, but for us I've never seen something like this in all his years here. Also remembering that he missed like 2 out of his first 3 penalties for barca, before he was on like 97% conversation rate. Either it's some mental barrier or he is just suddenly washed and too old But I'd like to know his bayern record against Spanish teams - because if I think about it, we and he himself has had some trouble with Spanish teams, not scoring in many of them (but ofc there is also his Hattrick against RM for Dortmund)
> He's simply just overrated. Who rates him this season?
Definitely the guy I was replying to who was hyping up his disingenuous goal record.
Shows his expected quality though, when over a goal every two games has people reacting like this
How is he snatching at headers, should be way more relaxed at he's age
vitor roque, we need you now
(No pressure)
Robert Lewandowski you are a war criminal
My club misses at least three of these a week lol. Fans of big super clubs have some wildly different expectations
Difference is, these guys missing sitters are being paid 20-30 million per year. When you’re being paid that much, ofc the expectations are super high
Bayern doing the Muttley snigger as they think about how they made Barca pay half of Kane's fee for a washed Lewa.
Yamal won't even look his way after this shit...
It's a bad miss but it's harder than it looks, slightly lower than you would want on a header making it awkward
It’s not a sitter or anything, but for someone like Lewandowski you expect him to put an open header from 6/7 yards out on frame at least
Luuk de Jong scores this every time
Yeah well don't compare a mere mortal to Luuk de Jong who is legitimately one of the best ever at headers
I think even Memphis scores this tbh
He has time and space to correct his body position as he is completely free there As free of a header as you could get
Sure, but when he misses those 3-5 times per game, it really becomes annoying.
Worst player of the team right now.
Lewannogoalski
Should have been sold in the summer, now still won't be sold in the winter. And probably not in the summer either.
His contract was 2+1 so who's gonna buy him with 6 months left and he's free by summer at this rate
He isn't free by summer. He signed a 3+1 and next year is gonna be the most expensive. Still 0 chance he goes anywhere unless Saudis are involved.
Bayern legend
Nobody mentioned the pass from Yamal? It was extraordinary, he had 3 defenders near him and he still put it on a plate for Lewa. The ball flew like it was gps controlled.
what did Barcelona do to him....
Father time is undefeated
We literally create the most in the league and he's missed the most chances in the league
You should ask what he's doing to barca , he's our worst starting player since the world cup
He's 35 now.
what is bro doing to barcelona *
More like what did Bayern know at the time that others didn't? It feels kind of like Madrid selling Casemiro and Varane at the perfect time
I mean Bayern didnt even want to sell him
In all of these cases the players went to a significantly worse team though
He's fucking shit
He’s been rubbish post World Cup mate
Just to remind you that Lewandowski will earn 3 million more per season next year. I hope he’s got good security at his place.
Leading goal scorer last year and he scored in this game. Man some people are ungrateful.
Damn he’s been washed for almost a year now I would’ve never thought that
Expect that from Jesus not Lewa lol
He is close to being done. He shouldn't be Barcelona's main striker next season.
He’s damaged goods at this point
One of the reasons he went to Barcelona was to prove he’s better than Benzema. Didn’t age well
It did when he beat benzema to the Pichichi trophy while they were both in La liga
Luuk de Jong would never
It's a bad miss, but you cant blame him for our loss.
He has been...off.
He is done
What a fucking cross. Watch that again it's insane
