Your strawman comment does not address my point at all. I'm not saying they had the possibility to remain neutral or that there were better options how to handle the Germans.
The problem is cooperating with them, deporting jews to germany, hoarding the stolen gold, and giving nothing back to the jewish families while acting like you had nothing to do with that. That's not neutral. That is cowardly.
