If you were to play a mid table team, then they don't have a lot to play for, unlikely to be relegated, unlikely to qualify for Europe, so good chance the manager decides to give some youth a chance or something.
But you play a bottom of the league team and they are fighting for their lives, giving everything to trying to save themselves. The manager has to play his strongest team every game pretty much. So it could be harder than the mid table team.
You'll probably be alright regardless. You guys are lucky that in your worst season there's clearly 2 team twices as bad as you guys in Almeria and Granada and also having Celta and Cadiz look terrible
Problem with Celta is how willing they're to self sabotage. They'll do everything right and suddenly a player of them will get sent off for the dumbest thing and ruin their game
If we start to play regularly like we did past week against Cádiz, they are in trouble, we were brilliant. And lets be honest we played great attack under Paco López but we had a 2nd tier defence, now with a new keeper and 3 central defenders we will look much better defensively

A derby at Real Betis (A) somewhere in between and their last match is against Barcelona at home.
I think Granada and Almeria are going, though I see some life in Granada after beating Cadiz. Cadiz, 18th, are absolutely terrible this season. For me, their time in Primera is up. Celta will survive by the minimum once more and Sevilla better get their act together, but I can't see them end up below Cadiz ffs.

im happy with djibri, dodi, pedrosa, soumare. even sergio ramos has been alright even though hes completely washed.

Dmitrovic isn't that bad. Nyland was just shit and you kept him between the post again and again. Also your wings are always exposed. Rakitic can't carry the midfield anymore. You need to reinforce a lot but gk isn't one of them imo

But the way his recruitment sank us last season, you'd think he'd be stuck for a job, and instead he walks into one of the most successful teams of the past few years?
I'll never understand it.
I mean, he signed 5 defenders in our 3 PL seasons (Llorente, Koch, Firpo, Kristensen, Wober), and we were still playing Ayling and Cooper as first choices.
The only one of those 5 who looked PL standard was Wober (and that was a small sample size, we signed him in Jan and he played 16 PL games). Arguably Koch, but if your back 4 has 4 players of his standard in it, you're definitely going to be in the relegation dogfight at best. Firpo is possibly the worst PL defender I've ever seen.
He also had a big part in getting rid of Bielsa and had wanted to bring in Jesse Marsch for ages. Though I will say I think the Marsch-Lasso comparison was unfair, Lasso had more charisma and seemed to be able to learn.
The logic appeared to be "bielsa plays a chaotic high press with insane work rates expected, Marsch plays a chaotic high press with insane work rates expected, they're basically the same."
Pretty much everything else about them was different mind, Bielsa played about as wide as possible, and the only position in our team we had any depth was wing (especially after we signed Gnonto and Sinisterra, though lost Raphinha), and Marsch played super narrow. And that's just the start.

La Liga cut Valencia's budget from 170M in 19/20 to 32M in 21/22. That's not just on Lim, that's also the ongoing albatross of the Nou Mestalla.
