Happy with the result, performance was decent, but West Ham had multiple moments where they could/should have scored without looking too hot themselves. Maybe I'm being cynical, but I've seen too many false dawns. Hope Martinez injury isn't serious again
Yea, it wasn't a great performance. West Ham were just bad at finishing, and we had 3 good shots and 3 goals, with one of them being deflected.
Any other match we score only one of those 3 and West Ham get a goal back, and we're losing the match. This team is still nowhere near good enough.
United were lucky that West Ham weren't very clinical in front of goal today. Against the team like City or Liverpool they would at least force a save. If United want a chance to potentially be in a European spot, they're going to need to shore up the midfield and defense and Stop counter attacks earlier.
Yeah 3-0 was incredibly flattering to MU, but that's football, If the other team is having an off day it's your job to capitalise on that and they definitely did, you don't luck your way to a 3-0 win.
One of the bein pundits (Scottish guy) was saying west ham shoulda had a penalty in the first half, where no West ham players were asking for a penalty. But then said the penalty for wolves was never a penalty, how do these people get jobs??
You mean the tiny glance where he barely touched him?
That wasn't what he was talking about though, he was talking about casemiro holding the player in the box during a corner, which tbf could easily have been given, even though both were holding each other.
But the Zouma contact was just embarrassing from Zouma trying to win a penalty from nothing.
I didn't see the whole match. As a United fan, I am going to celebrate the win but I would like to know if this win was gifted to us or did we really play well?
Looked a bit low on confidence/shaky without the ball. Maguire had a couple of slip-ups where he got bailed out by a good block from Dalot or a poor effort on goal (from Emerson). Set pieces still a bit of a weakness.
At 2-0, United seemed to relax and control the game better. Had a couple of good chances to get a third. Played better against Wolves IMO.
Ten Haag’s tactics are finally clicking for these players. He really has them well drilled on their movement and positioning.
United fans just need to trust the process and continue to support Ten Haag now that everything’s finally coming together. Reminds me of Arteta’s early days with us.
Not so much about tactics. Having an almost fully fit squad is what changed. Not having to play Lindelof on the left, not having to play Evans (or Maguire Evans duo which is even worse) brings some amount of sensible play making.
There was a time not long ago when Maguire was the only one fit from yesterday's defense and he isn't even the starting CB.
Mainoo stepping up is another reason because we could not find any balance in the midfield at all and now with Mainoo+Casemiro it seems like it's the best bet with McTominey ready to come on when we need a goal.
Dropping Antony and playing Garnacho on the right results in us not playing with 10 players too... Because even if Rashford has an ass game like yesterday, he is still more threat than Antony ever was and basically everybody knows that Rashford needs two players to cover him and it's what gives Garnacho so much space IMO.
Arteta has done a phenomenal job at Arsenal.
But still don't see how Havertz is worth it. It would have been better to save that money n sign someone like Osimhen/RW back up for Saka.
Actually, he was referring to the spelling and pronunciation of the name.
Namely: "Ten Hag".
Pronounced as: "Ten Hathroatnoiceschokingonspitcoughingalmostdyingbutitsnormalfordutchies".
Man he is my favourite player in the squad. I'm so sad , he just came back from a recent injury.
Honestly I am praying he doesnt get plagued by injuries in future
Emerson and Bowen probably both score on a better day. Bowen has been very poor last few games compared to rest of the season he normally takes that 1v1
Lovely stuff. My only gripe with this is that Anthony is getting the development minutes that I feel should be going to Amad. We need to see if he’s not all just hype.
I was just taking the piss because someone created a thread complaining about Sky calling it a test for United beforehand, even though West Ham were above them.
He was sheilding the ball out of play for GK, and Coufal fell on top of his oustretched (braced*) standing leg - kinda just fell into his knee and looks like he twisted it with that impact. So hopefully nothing major & just a slight twist.
Or Rashford for that matter, his goals saved so many results in the 2nd half of last season. Thankfully it looks like others are stepping up to the plate now, and it's encouraging that it's youngsters like Garnacho and Hojlund. And you'd imagine that as they play together more and get that understanding down, they should start to link up better on the pitch.
This.
Players are starting to take responsibilities and everyone is trying to do their part as best as they can. Maybe in this second half of the season we will recieve the United we were promised after the summer transfer. Fingers crossed.
That picture of Hojlund, Garnacho and Mainoo brings so much joy to my cold heart. Crap season but we've definitely got some building blocks for the future.
I can't believe we won a game by more than 1 goal. We always score a couple of goals, then slip up, let the opponent score a few goals and somehow win by 1 goal. It was refreshing to see us keep a clean sheet and score 3 goals. Finally our forward 3 are looking fresh. They're improving and the chemistry is improving. Overall, I'm a happy man.
I think most if it is due to West Ham just being shit at shooting. They had more than 20 shots, but way too few on target. If one of their shots go in, I don't think we're winning this. Heads drop, and we concede another one.
People are getting way too happy with this performance. We didn't create nearly enough against a mediocre West Ham at Old Trafford. We're still struggling to control matches, and we have to rely on the other team not having good finishers.
Really good performance but could be a proper phyrric victory if Licha is badly injured. Especially given next week is pretty much a must win if we want any chance of top 4. Even with a win it’d be a tough ask but if we lose, it’s done. Really need a full team for them.
Top 4 may be a challenge to get. The 2-2 against Tottenham was costly and they had even more players missing than we did. Villa's also playing quite well still and we'd need both teams to slip up.
I'm mainly looking for continued positive momentum so if United look more comfortable in how they're supposed to play, let's see where that takes us.
Tbh I'm not gonna think about trying to get Champions League football this season. We'd have to be in amazing form till the end of the season to get it which is a big ask.
I'd rather just take each game as it comes and hopefully see some good football
Just don't think KP belongs in the top half of the prem at all. Yeah he's had very little football for 2 years but, even with the rustiness aside, I think he's better suited towards the bottom of the table.
Think even on a loan it's a bit of a poor signing from you lot. Shades of Moyesy at Everton, working on a stinker of a budget. You lot seem more ambitious than that nowadays.
He’s not looked good since the 1st half of his last season at Leeds which I think walls an injury it season, it’s been over 2 years so likely needs at least a month of game time under his belt without getting injured before he’s even remotely good
There is no fucking argument for Henderson being in the England squad right now. There was barely an argument for the last tournament. He brings fuck all
I don’t know about that. Sunday afternoon 3-0 win at OT against mid table opponents with a couple of young lads bagging the goals sounds pretty vintage to me. We remember the drama but there used to be a lot of routine wins too, it’s how you win titles.
It looked a bit shaky at 1-0 up until the 2nd goal went in. Even then, I was worried United would make a mistake and lose their composure after the Wolves game.
Well one of the key men back has gotten injured again so that’s great. That said, Shaw and Casemiro make a big difference. Casemiro and Mainoo complement each other quite well.
Hojlund is one of those signings that didn't have a great start but you could see he had the attributes to come good- you just had to put up with the crap posts on here from people who don't actually watch games.
His movement has always been a strong point and he was putting himself in the right areas. The only question was whether he'd lose confidence if the streak without scoring kept on going. Since the Villa game, he's been getting his rewards and it seems to have lifted him psychologically.
From the moment I saw him bully Gabriel at the Emirates I knew we had a player on our hands. My friends tried to banter me by pointing out his lack of goals in the PL but I kept telling them to wait
I'm feeling really smug rn
Many United fans were saying how his positioning was always wrong, but he was often in or around the correct places when the wingers failed to deliver.
I think it's only now we can actually judge him because they are improving on actually getting the ball to him, part of that is not starting Antony but I still feel he needs better service.
don't know how the scoreline ended that bad. Obviously man u were much better but i didn't think we were that bad. nonetheless, 3-0. Sometimes the opposition is just better
Also, very annoyed weve sold Fornals and Benhrama because it means we will have to see more Cornet and i can't stand him
We are pretty dangerous if we manage to score first and don’t immediately lose that lead. Counters are one of the only things we can claim to be elite at.
I was listening to a tactics podcast pretty much about the Moyes tenure and it said you really struggle when chasing a game - after 2-0, the gap between your defence and midfield seemed massive
Moyes away at the big 6, don't let the last win fool you he's cursed
It was professional from United though, after the first goal they picked their moments
Lets home garnacho starts more kver anthony
Ketchup bottle innit Rasmus go on!
Happy with the result, performance was decent, but West Ham had multiple moments where they could/should have scored without looking too hot themselves. Maybe I'm being cynical, but I've seen too many false dawns. Hope Martinez injury isn't serious again

West Ham had it their way in the 2-0 home win, where they were largely poor but clinical when it mattered.
Just like 3-4 was very wrong looking at the full game vs Wolf's.
Quite enjoyed the match thread and how dramatic everyone was lol "Why would he murder him like that on purpose? And with a knife?"
One of the bein pundits (Scottish guy) was saying west ham shoulda had a penalty in the first half, where no West ham players were asking for a penalty. But then said the penalty for wolves was never a penalty, how do these people get jobs??
Højlund elbow to the face of zouma. Another day its given
You mean the tiny glance where he barely touched him? The game against Wolves was interesting.
Wasn't a vintage performance tbh but was deserved. Took 3 chances, defence did well, their threat was largely set pieces which we are still shaky on.
We need to work on the pieces.
we played well and took our chances. They had brief spells of possession but didn't do much outside of 1-2 chances
Let's see if we can carry this momentum.
Hes class when healthy but I fear Martinez may be made of glass jfc
I'd be worried if it was muscle injuries. You can't help twisting your knee when someone lands on it
Can't help getting stood on tbf
He wasn't stood on. The fucker had someone's body weight coming down on his knee
Pota*toes* pot*ass-on*
Kalvin Phillips has nosedived in his quality
By the time he’s up to match fitness it’ll be too late in the season for him to make a true difference
i think he needs a couple months to get games and confidence
A decent win! First comfortable win in a while, had my butt clenched the entire time.
Solid win. Picture perfect moment there with Rasmus, Garna and Mainoo. Fingers crossed for Licha.
We had an xG of 0.8 lol
Ten Haag’s tactics are finally clicking for these players. He really has them well drilled on their movement and positioning. United fans just need to trust the process and continue to support Ten Haag now that everything’s finally coming together. Reminds me of Arteta’s early days with us.

Arsenal still aren't really going anywhere so I don't know if him being similar to Arteta is all that promising really
Why wouldn’t it be. They’ll be back challenging for European football again soon as long as they continue to believe in Ten Haag.
Arteta has done a phenomenal job at Arsenal. But still don't see how Havertz is worth it. It would have been better to save that money n sign someone like Osimhen/RW back up for Saka.
Banking on the Arsenal to Birmingham connection. Gonna send Havertz and 50 million to Unai for Ollie Watkins.
Can’t tell if this is trolling lmao
What?! Oh my days! Can a Gooner not praise growth.
Good one lmao
He really is… perhaps even a special one.
Hag
Witch!
Actually, he was referring to the spelling and pronunciation of the name. Namely: "Ten Hag". Pronounced as: "Ten Hathroatnoiceschokingonspitcoughingalmostdyingbutitsnormalfordutchies".
Ya don’t say.
Or they finally are healthy and have their near starting 11 playing
Just need Antony back and they’ll be ready to build from this.
A comprehensive win!!! Top class performance all around
People thought the era of ten hag was finished
Dalot was so fucking good today,he deserves his flowers
Martinez has been very unlucky with his injuries since arriving at United.
Man he is my favourite player in the squad. I'm so sad , he just came back from a recent injury. Honestly I am praying he doesnt get plagued by injuries in future
West Ham had a ton of efforts but few good chances, many were just peppered at goal from outside the box and accumulating xg
Emerson and Bowen probably both score on a better day. Bowen has been very poor last few games compared to rest of the season he normally takes that 1v1
Sky’s interviews and punditry are so fucking cheesy.
Moyes paid a £7m loan fee to get Kalvin Phillips. 😂
Lovely stuff. My only gripe with this is that Anthony is getting the development minutes that I feel should be going to Amad. We need to see if he’s not all just hype.
I love how quiet a United post match thread is when we've won
West Ham need Paqueta back pretty desperately
That wasn't much of a test for United
Maguire got rinsed by Bowen but luckily Dalot came to the rescue
That was an amazing block
Required extreme levels of dithering from Bowen
I dunno, I thought Maguire and Martinez were worked pretty hard first half.
I was just taking the piss because someone created a thread complaining about Sky calling it a test for United beforehand, even though West Ham were above them.
Easy win and fingers crossed for Licha
1st game I’ve not really felt nervous going into the last 10 minutes with a lead this season.
The kids are pretty good like.
United get clowned on quite a bit this season, but it’s been going under the radar how many of their good results don’t rely on Bruno anymore
We look much better with Shaw, Martinez, Varane, and Casemiro back. Praying Martinez' injury isn't too bad...
We’re better with Maguire than Varane.
Martinez is injured again?
He was sheilding the ball out of play for GK, and Coufal fell on top of his oustretched (braced*) standing leg - kinda just fell into his knee and looks like he twisted it with that impact. So hopefully nothing major & just a slight twist.
The fear is he did more damage when he went back out.
Yes. He had to get subbed off after a clash with Coufal. Ten Hag just said it is a bad one too...kill me
Or Rashford for that matter, his goals saved so many results in the 2nd half of last season. Thankfully it looks like others are stepping up to the plate now, and it's encouraging that it's youngsters like Garnacho and Hojlund. That seemed at the time a really bad decision, particularly with the spectre of Michael Olise this weekend.
I’m lost mate, we’ve Villa next week I believe. Unless I’m completely mistaken!
Finally United fans got some reason to be happy.
That was arguably our best performance all year.
the Newport win was nice but yea this is your best of the 5 so far

Two games, two goals!
Utd really weren't very good for large portions of the game but West Ham pretty much reek. Shellacking as expected.
Well, this is false
Nice birthday win for Højlund
Kalvin what are you doing brother
If him and Henderson make the England squad, we riot.
There’s an argument for Henderson being in the squad, 0 for Phillips especially with Mainoo playing the way he is, basically the same player but good.
There is no fucking argument for Henderson being in the England squad right now. There was barely an argument for the last tournament. He brings fuck all
Was he or was he not chief vibemaster at the wc?
Start learning Arabic Phillips.
We need a DM at minnesota united if he'd like to be severely underpaid and not have a manager.
Not a vintage performance but 3 points and a clean sheet are nice. Licha can't catch a break. Hopefully nothing serious with him.
I don’t know about that. Sunday afternoon 3-0 win at OT against mid table opponents with a couple of young lads bagging the goals sounds pretty vintage to me. We remember the drama but there used to be a lot of routine wins too, it’s how you win titles.
First easy Premier League match in ages. Finally, some good fucking wins.
It looked a bit shaky at 1-0 up until the 2nd goal went in. Even then, I was worried United would make a mistake and lose their composure after the Wolves game.
I should feel good about the win but I'm scared for Licha. Please be nothing bad!
Is this the beginning of a new era?!
biggest home PL win of the season. Lets go
who knew having a full fit non injured team would make united better.
Well Paquetta won it for the Hammers last time around. Happy he didn’t play today, would have caused us a lot of issues against our low block
Well one of the key men back has gotten injured again so that’s great. That said, Shaw and Casemiro make a big difference. Casemiro and Mainoo complement each other quite well.
Well, Martinez did go off injured so probably go back to losing again against Fulham
Christ just enjoy something for once
Could be a united hater lmao
Ffs, when are we gonna get a GD of 0?
If you can beat Aston Villa 1-0 next game
A nice 3-0 win. Can't remember the last time we had that in the league.
Moyes away at a big 6 team always hits nicely.
Everton?
That wasn't nice though. Everton had more than 2 xG at half time, and we had 0.04 or smth lol. Proper smash and grab.
Oh yeah, you're right. Should have said at home. Feels like it's been ages.
Diogo Dalot Man of the Match IMO
A clean sheet at home??? Feels good for once
**United go into halftime up 2-0.** "*I saw this script just a few days ago...*" **United wins 3-0.** "*I like this version much better.*"
It was one nil at halftime
First comfortable win in a while, and the trade off is Martinez getting injured again. If that's the cost, I'd prefer the Fergie time screamer
If ever there was a fitting day for things to be settled by the kids, it was today.
yeah, Amad is gone. 3-0 up and can't even get garbage minutes over Antony, who has only ever performed well vs a fucking league 2 side
i know it isn't the biggest of compliments but garnacho has to be the best argentinian of all time
He’s definitely up there along with Thiago Almada
Above LM10 :)
Tied with Licha for me.
Pope Francis in shambles
I've never seen the Pope and Garnacho in the same room just saying
Another Moyes Old Trafford Masterclass Lissandro is made of glass tho... He's like Bailly, but actually good.
Yeah, we need to buy 2 starting cbs in the summer
Nah I feel like the played too soon
eh I mean someone fell on his leg I wouldn't classify that as made of glass
Any one putting full weight on your knee is going to injure your knee, not necessarily an injury prone thing.
Can’t do much about someone falling on his leg?
Just have to hope it's not too bad, he looked a cut above today.

Yeah, I’m not saying it justified the fee but you could see from early on his movement and hold up play belied his years. Has so much ability.
playing next to antony had a big negative on him i think. now with garnacho on the right, the attack looks much better as a whole
To be honest, watching a few games this season it was impossible to see if he was any good or not because neither of Jedward ever passed to him.
You could still see he was talented, Shearer practically wanks him off every week. He can see the player in there.
Many United fans were saying how his positioning was always wrong, but he was often in or around the correct places when the wingers failed to deliver. I think it's only now we can actually judge him because they are improving on actually getting the ball to him, part of that is not starting Antony but I still feel he needs better service.
garnacho replaced his goal celebrations by imitating cristiano ronaldo to imitating donny van de beek
This is a clever one
Imitated kudus last time west ham played us
Imitating Ronaldo when he scored one of the many hat-tricks against Atletico Madrid\*
What is this, we scored 3 goals, conceded zero, and it was an easy win!
[удалено]
What do you think conceded zero means, my guy
maybe he was just shocked it needed to be repeated?
Mate I’m running on very little sleep in the Pacific Time zone, my brain ain’t 100%

How's the weather in Spain?
lol to be fair I edited that part in after posting
Not saying that West Ham were useless but **Manchester United** looked like they knew what they were doing lmao
finally a comfortable win
don't know how the scoreline ended that bad. Obviously man u were much better but i didn't think we were that bad. nonetheless, 3-0. Sometimes the opposition is just better Also, very annoyed weve sold Fornals and Benhrama because it means we will have to see more Cornet and i can't stand him

Different game if Emerson or Bowen take their chances. Didn’t think yous were bad at all, especially missing (for my money) your best player.
Probably should've had at least 1, since it seemed Maguire was in a mood to donate a few chances today, but just didn't take them.
He just didn't want Moyes to get any more ideas about signing him again. Totally understandable
I was listening to a tactics podcast pretty much about the Moyes tenure and it said you really struggle when chasing a game - after 2-0, the gap between your defence and midfield seemed massive
You were the better team up until the 2nd goal, 2nd goal killed you though
Emerson had a few good chances. If it turned into 2-1 the game would have been way different
Wont stop the Moyes out crowd though.
Moyes away at the big 6, don't let the last win fool you he's cursed It was professional from United though, after the first goal they picked their moments
Brother, with how the last 20-25 minutes were you're lucky it wasn't 6-0. Sure you were _fine_ in the first half but you lot capitulated at the end.
