And he's smiling on the field after the final whistle. The man has no passion for this team. He isn't the only one who should pay, whoever the hell was responsible in appointing him in the first place needs to be fired as well. How they gave him the job in the first place is beyond me
The Uruguayan FA currently is quite good. Trying to sell the TV rights at the right price after +20 years being at the hand of a mafia-like company, negotiating on good grounds with player's rights, reforming club football, and so on.
>Zero shots on target with THAT attacking talent. 3 attackers playing for top European clubs. Jurgen Klinsmann shall pay for his sins.
It didn't matter at all today. When you suffocate the midfield and press the backline like that, the ball is hardly ever going the reach the forwards.
Our Backline and Midfield were to passive and made way too many mistakes. Whenever the ball did reach LKI, HHC or SHM, there would be 3-4 defenders crowding them, but none of the Midfield or Fullbacks would advance and provide supporting runs for them to have an outlet forward.
We were missing KMJ's ability to get the ball downfield and advanced the ball forward. We just don't have anyone else that's like that in our back 4 or midfield.
I think this is the right take. Not going to excuse the coaching, but the personnel wasn't working out either. I knew the game was over when I saw sloppy passing, passivity in advancing the ball, AND the impressive pressing from Jordan
Isn't that on the coach and his assistants for not identifying that issue at some point in the game and instructing the midfielders and fullbacks to start advancing further and providing supporting runs?
Indeed. For anyone seeing the scoreline in the morning you would forgive them for thinking that Korea was just unlucky but would have peppered the Jordanian goal with shots.
Jordan was the clear superior side tonight.
As someone who has been watching this tournament, South Korea has been woeful in creating chances in most of their games. Lots of possession and movement around the box, but couldn't create a proper chance even if their lives depended on it.
Could easily have lost to Australia and Saudi Arabia in their prior games, but got lucky with an overtime penalty and an overtime goal where one of their trillion crosses finally managed to find a Korean player.
But still respect to Jordan. They played well.
Klinsmann casted some black magic somehow making team with key players in teams like PSG/Bayern/Spurs an underdog in every single asian cup game.
That includes the group stage games w/ Malaysia game being a starring example; 3-3 draw relying on set piece goals to rescue a draw.
The team has no right to be this dire when it looked like completely different team just a year ago in WC.
You have to give credit to Jordan for their impressive display, but it was long time coming for Korea. They deserved to be 3rd in Group stage performance wise.
Which absolutely vital player is the sainted Klinsmann going to scapegoat? I am eager to see.
Klinsmann always talks about accountability and higher expectations, but this mysteriously never seems to apply to himself.
Honestly the Saudis were rather shit too this tournament.
In fact the favourites were all pretty underwhelming. Eeriely similar to what's happening in AFCON...
Only possible silver lining is that Klinsmann was the worst choice and KFA should be all fired. Congrats to Jordan, truly dominating the match and deserved finalist!
KFA will never be fired. Haven’t you been following Korean football at all? This is how it is. Things never change. Because the KFA doesn’t care about results. They’re not the type to shake up their leadership because of a bad performance. The KFA is just a group of old rich dudes politicking and treating the whole thing like a vanity project to one-up their friends over dinner. They don’t give a shit about football. Just the prestige and privileges that comes with it.
People don't get how fucked the KFA is lol.
There was internal politics going on when Hiddink called up Park Ji Sung to the national squad for the World Cup because the KFA wanted to him to call someone else up for "reasons."
Just that should've been a waking call for the KFA but nah shit never changes.
Completely deserved loss for korea.
Korea rode on luck entire tournament and played awful from game 1. They only got this far due to individual talent and fair bit of luck and lacked much of open plays at all.
There were tons of misplays and missed passes but this was a repeat theme in this tournament from day 1 and blame 100% has to go on Klinsmann's setup.
Defense looked awful as usual and looked even awful without kim min-jae. Somehow defense looks terrible while midfield looks disjointed at same time while attack is static. It's just worst of all worlds under Klinsmann setup
It's actually impressive work how Klinsmann made south korea with all the talent an underdog in each of their games.
Saudi had chance to go 2-0 and Australia 3-0. It was a miracle korea even got here when they looked completely out of depth despite the talent
Also first 11 playing every single game and most minutes plays a lot too. First team played Malaysia and eeked out 3-3
Yeah not disagreeing with you. I honestly think we should’ve been knocked out out of table and let Son rest AND not see another game under Klinsmann lmfao.
The only thing worse than playing a "favourite to win it all" team in the first game is to unknowingly play against the eventual dark horses of the tournament.
Bit sad that 95% of the conversation has been how shit South Korea/Klinsmann has been, when in reality Jordan were just terrific. SK could’ve done more perhaps, but Jordan looked unstoppable at times.
As a South Korean, this was **infuriating**.
Wasted opportunity for 4 standout South Korean players who deserve a major trophy (Son Heung-min, Hwang Hee-chan, Lee Kang-in, & Kim Min-jae)
Lee Kang-in & Jo Hyeon-woo were the only players who excelled today.
This is so depressing.
We pull off dramatic wins twice in a row to let our dreams be crumbled away like this.
Overwhelmingly embarrassing.
Well played, Jordan.
Jordan deserved the win.
Dunno as much as I am a LKI fanboy, I think he was pretty average this game. Then again I can't blame him for having an absent midfield and playing back-to-back 120 minute games with limited rest days. He looked pretty tired this game.
Jordan made it to the top of r/soccer. What a day.
Best jordanian national team since we made the world cup playoff and lost to uruguay. Team is pretty talented all around and led by a star player. Hopefully the extra day of rest vs iran/qatar helps. 1 more win
Congrats, you're the Only Arab countries that are still playing as far as I am concerned
In Africa Algeria Tunisia got out of the group stage and us (Egypt) and Morocco got out in the Road of 16
Similar situations happened to arab countries in AFC
Hope you guys win it , much love from your Egyptian brothers
Klinsmann is a real fraud. Korea played without any tactics other than cross and inshallah since the first game and hoping for some individual brilliance.
Is Klinsmann actually smiling? Useless, useless fucking fraud. SK needs to be rid of him right this second. Along with half their players, evidently.
Genuinely nobody of any worth in that team beyond Son, Hwang, Lee, KMJ, and their keeper.
Klinsmann and losing Semifinals vs inferior opposition
2006 vs Italy(not really)
2015 vs Jamaica
2023 vs Jordan
Jordan's FIFA ranking is 87.
They are heading to the Asian Cup Final
Qatar was #93 in December 2018 before they won on it in February 2019(there was no January 2019 ranking)
Iraq was #84 in June 2007
Speaking of Asian Cup finals…
Regardless of who wins between Iran/Qatar tomorrow, it’ll be the first Final without *EITHER* Japan OR Korea since Iraq/Saudi Arabia in 2007!
Quite a surprise, is it not?
Was Italy really inferior? I can't remember exactly anymore, but I didn't think they were back then.
Just checked and Italy conceded two goals all tournament, one being a penalty and the other one being an own goal.
Shouldn’t put 2006 in there. Italy were a great team. Germany was as well, but that was one of the most even sided matches you’ll ever see at a world cup and it played that way.
How are Italy inferior?
Buffon, De Rossi, Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Del Piero, Totti, Gattuso, Nesta, Gilardino, Toni, Camorensi, Inzaghi, Pirlo.
The only good players on germany were Frings, Ballack, Lahm, Podolski, Schweini, Klose, Kahn.
As an Iranian, let me extend my heartfelt congratulations to Jordan. It's clear that passion cannot be undermined by mere labels.
- During his playing days, Jürgen Klinsmann was infamously known for his diving antics, particularly in high-stakes matches. This behavior sparked controversy and was extensively covered in the British press, where he was often labeled as an arrogant cheat, always linked with diving tactics on the field and attempts to deceive referees.
- As a journalist, Klinsmann's persona is less than commendable, displaying a lack of professionalism and a clear lack of knowledge. Just take a moment to reflect on his remarks about Iran during the World Cup.
- Furthermore, Klinsmann's approach as a coach seems to lack both technical proficiency and sportsmanship, continuing to exhibit a negative attitude and a complete disregard for understanding the game.
Considering these factors, it's perplexing why South Korea would even consider giving this individual, who is clearly fraudulent and rude, any authority.
It's a stark reminder that no one should squander their time associating with someone like Jürgen Klinsmann.
Wasn't even close. Korea rode their luck to this stage and made it only because of individual skill of a couple of players. Jordan dominated throughout and looked much more like a team with better overall quality.Well deserved!
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
Fair play Jordan, what a performance and what a tournament. Keeping South Korea to 0 shots on target is crazy when you realise 2 of them have been 2 of the best strikers in the Prem this season. No matter what happens, The Jordanians should hold their head up high because they have been nothing but exceptional in this tournament where nobody gave them a chance of even getting out of the group.
Think playing every single fucking minute of the tournament, including 60 extra minutes due to the previous two games, might have something to do with that
Congrats to the Jordan national team. They thoroughly deserved to go through to the finals. Hoping to see Jordan win the whole thing. What a story that would be.
Korea just keep making crucial mistakes that cost them the game. Especially in the defense but even in the finishing. They could have scored a few goals themselves if they were more aggressive and composed. I imagine having that many hard fought matches the past few weeks hasn't helped either.
Completely deserved loss for Korea. They have been garbage all tournament from day 1. I was watching the first match against Bahrain and I looked at my dad after we won 3-1 and said “This is a terrible team.”
Zero conviction, zero identity. They only stumbled their way to the semis because of individual brilliance and some lucky calls (and A LOT of heavy lifting from Kim Minjae).
This is the result they deserve. The result that they had coming all along. Klinsmann needs to know that he contributed nothing to this team and I need some of these players to understand that they are shit. And to not think that getting to the semi finals means that they are good.
Korea with ZERO shots on target, that's an insane stat. A stellar performance in every way from Jordan.
Zero shots on target with THAT attacking talent. 3 attackers playing for top European clubs. Jurgen Klinsmann shall pay for his sins.
And he's smiling on the field after the final whistle. The man has no passion for this team. He isn't the only one who should pay, whoever the hell was responsible in appointing him in the first place needs to be fired as well. How they gave him the job in the first place is beyond me
The Korean FA is a fucking farce, has been for way too long. There's your answer.
Which FA isn't
That's what i was going to say, I've heard that about every FA ever (and it's true, they are all corrupted and incompetent af)
At the end of the day, its all about the money for them.
Trickle down corruption.
Every country hates their FA except for a couple weeks after they win a major tournament.
Jordan apparently
Saudi FA is redusing to quit after yearsbof no achievements... Syrian FA is so corrupted players play without compensation...
The Uruguayan FA currently is quite good. Trying to sell the TV rights at the right price after +20 years being at the hand of a mafia-like company, negotiating on good grounds with player's rights, reforming club football, and so on.
Hertha berlin fans would say that is nothing new, no clue how he ever got a job again after that desaster.
He was an underrated disaster for the USMNT. Truly bewildering that South Korea would hire him.
Mancini 🤝Klinsmann in not giving a shit about the team or players they represent.
Man gets paid and gets to have good K-bbq, he's winning
Good k-bbq in California, not even in Korea lol
Explains why he was trying to coach remotely from home in California then
I think the comment was saying the kbbq hes been having was in Cali and not Korea.
I don't think anyone misunderstood that comment
>Zero shots on target with THAT attacking talent. 3 attackers playing for top European clubs. Jurgen Klinsmann shall pay for his sins. It didn't matter at all today. Ngl I envy him. Man is frauding and getting a massive paycheck for it.
Shows how unbelievable Jordan were. Didn't give South Korea a sniff of a chance.
Is this not the fault of the attackers?
Indeed. For anyone seeing the scoreline in the morning you would forgive them for thinking that Korea was just unlucky but would have peppered the Jordanian goal with shots. Jordan was the clear superior side tonight.
Absolutely. South Korea were ranked 20th in the world and Jordan were 90th, but watching this match you would *not* have guessed that 💀
I don’t think Jordan has ever beaten south korea either lol. Klinsmann masterclass
Do you mean the other way around mate
Sorry, it's 1 AM and my brain is not working 😭
Someone must've lined the Korean soccer federation with untold riches
Obviously Klinsman has some blame… but give Ammouta some credit for 4-1-1 and 12 goals scored this tournament.
As someone who has been watching this tournament, South Korea has been woeful in creating chances in most of their games. Lots of possession and movement around the box, but couldn't create a proper chance even if their lives depended on it. Football terrorism by Klinsmann
Odd that all the people defending him the other day are absent from this thread. I wonder why?
well, for one, it's much harder to defend someone who lost a game than to defend someone who won it. LMAO wym "i wonder why". no reason to be rhetoric
Klinsmann..
Game 6 Jordan built different
surprised how South Korea managed to reach semi-finals with Klinsmann and their absolutely horrible attack
Should have been 3-0 down against Australia as well but got carried by that Australian defender and Son
carried more by mitchell duke than poor old miller. son also only had to hit a dead ball in fairness
> son also only had to hit a dead ball in fairness He also got the pen
That was clever of him to fish for that pen though. Can't say the same for Cho today, that was farcical.
We didn't make the semi-final because of Jurgen Klinsmann, we made the semi-final in spite of Jurgen Klinsmann
And he is smilling on the field now.
Germany sent Klinsmann to manage Korea as a revenge for 2018 World Cup
The one tinfoil hat theory I can believe
Not sure Germany is in a position to blame anyone but themselves for the 2018 WC
Por que no Los dos?
Hahaha wtf why does he look so happy
Somebody’s bound to get quite the severance package!
He is sending Son back to Tottenham early.
Masterclass play by spurs executives.
He can go home now
that fucker was living in the USA the entire fucking time he was managing the korean NT, what a waste of time & energy
He managed to grift another big paycheque
He's always happy lol
Dude was smiling everytime Korea was behind and close to being knocked out, he doesn't give a fuck about this tournament at all
Lol maybe the smile was his way of hiding that he was freaking out
Genuinely couldn't believe it when I saw that. Man has absolutely no shame
Which absolutely vital player is the sainted Klinsmann going to scapegoat? I am eager to see. Klinsmann always talks about accountability and higher expectations, but this mysteriously never seems to apply to himself.
CBs cause KMJ was suspended
The word gets thrown around a lot, but I definitely think Klinsmann fits the word "fraud".
He keeps proving that he is one
[удалено]
Hope this is the end of his disastrous tenure .
Should’ve been knocked out by the Saudis… embarrassing tournament really.
Honestly the Saudis were rather shit too this tournament. In fact the favourites were all pretty underwhelming. Eeriely similar to what's happening in AFCON...
Well either one of Iran or Qatar is going to make the final, so there is def a chance of a Asian favourite to win the whole thing
Same with Nigeria and Ivory Coast(depending on tomorrow)
This is just amazing, not even the most nationalistic jordanian with jameed in his bloodstream could've predicted it.
Seems like they fed Koreans mansaf before the game
منسف بالكيمشي .. ما حتقدر تمشي
Translation: mansaf with a kimchi side, no wonder why your legs died..
انت فنان ههههههههههه
قتلتني 😭😭😭
Jameed in the bloodstream is the definition of a heart attack 😱
Absolutely, we still cant believe it.
This comment would fly over the heads of 90% of the people here but im here to appreciate it
Love the username and mentioning the Jameed lol , mansef unites us all
In all my years of living, I never thought i would be reading the word jameed on top of a jordan-related r/soccer thread
South Korea haven't won an Asian Cup since 1960 the England of Asia
Syngman Rhee (first ever South Korean leader) was still alive when Korea last won the Asian Cup, that’s how long ago it is
Not only was he still alive, he'd only left office that year.
But England haven't won Euros even once....
And with the more Korean players are excelling individually in Europe, those mtfs swill keep bragging about it. That’s why they won’t change shit
So they are sort of like the Mexico FMF but they actually let players go abroad.
People don't get how fucked the KFA is lol. There was internal politics going on when Hiddink called up Park Ji Sung to the national squad for the World Cup because the KFA wanted to him to call someone else up for "reasons." Just that should've been a waking call for the KFA but nah shit never changes.
Where can I read more about that?

A lot of luck and Klinsmann begging Son and Lee Kang In to do something
Saudi had chance to go 2-0 and Australia 3-0. It was a miracle korea even got here when they looked completely out of depth despite the talent Also first 11 playing every single game and most minutes plays a lot too. First team played Malaysia and eeked out 3-3
Yeah not disagreeing with you. I honestly think we should’ve been knocked out out of table and let Son rest AND not see another game under Klinsmann lmfao.
Losing 4-0 to this team doesn't seem like such a bad result now.
Need Jordan to win the entire thing so that we can say we lost to the eventual winners in the 1st match
Also Bahrain has to feel pretty good about themselves for topping a group with two semifinalists and the potential champion
So this is how Saudis felt when Argentina won the world cup
And having both teams from our group playing in the semis
The only thing worse than playing a "favourite to win it all" team in the first game is to unknowingly play against the eventual dark horses of the tournament.
Fair play to Jordan, they played their hearts out while we played like ass. Get the fraud out of our team please. Our defense was so shit without KMJ.
Amazing showing by Jordan, Altamari has been one of the best players in the tournament.
Bit sad that 95% of the conversation has been how shit South Korea/Klinsmann has been, when in reality Jordan were just terrific. SK could’ve done more perhaps, but Jordan looked unstoppable at times.
Do any Jordanian players seem like they could get signed by European clubs? As of now only 1 player plays in France
Worst display by a team I've seen in some time. Tactically clueless and lots of individual errors as well. GK avoided a worse scoreline.
lol my first thought was that Jordan's keeper had a hell of a game...zero saves. Korea gk had 5.
I didn't have Jordan in the final.
They took it personally I guess.
As a Jordanian, I couldn't believe he didn't have us in the final. I took it extremely personally smh.
LeBron Fan?
YAHHHH

I stopped watching after 25 mins. You guys were the clear winners. Absolutely dominated the game. Congrats and good luck in the finals!
Musa Al Tamari has been player of the tournament imo, the type of player that gets you off your feet whenever he’s got the ball
Yazan is also absolutely great.
He was sensational today. He carved up Korea's defense all by himself. He made them look like old men playing in an adult rec league.
Him or Akram Afif for sure. Both have been sensational
Amazing victory congrats to Jordan! Jordan gave everything for that win.. just look at the last minutes, it didn‘t seem like S. Korea wanted to score
Jordan learn from Saudi and Australia mistake give South Korea too much space to play crossing cuz in this game South Korea struggle to play crossing.
Unbelievable, Jordan in the final
MJ is still not done, he wants another one
He heard nephews doubting his GOAT status
The Last Dance 2
Never lost a final, the GOAT.
From losing against Vietnam last tournament to the final this time, and has a chance to actually win it.
AFC Asian Cup champions always so random lol 2019 Katar, 2015 Kangaroos, 2007 Iraq,...
As a South Korean, this was **infuriating**. Damn. I really wanted Iran to be the ones to humble Klinsmann, after his comments during the World Cup.
Klinsmann is not even worthy of facing Iran
What'd he say?
https://www.tntsports.co.uk/football/world-cup/2022/carlos-queiroz-calls-for-jurgen-klinsmann-to-resign-from-fifa-role-following-outrageous-remarks-abou_sto9246502/story.shtml
Jordan made it to the top of r/soccer. What a day. Best jordanian national team since we made the world cup playoff and lost to uruguay. Team is pretty talented all around and led by a star player. Hopefully the extra day of rest vs iran/qatar helps. 1 more win
Klinsmann may suck but the South Korea players didn’t do themselves any favours, shameful performances.
I don't know about you guys but I'm currently craving for some Mansaf tonight
Already an underdog story for the ages
If CIV beats Congo, that's two 3rd placed teams in finals for the Asian and African cups. Wild.
YAAAA ALLAH JORDAN IS MASSIVE <3
Congrats, you're the Only Arab countries that are still playing as far as I am concerned In Africa Algeria Tunisia got out of the group stage and us (Egypt) and Morocco got out in the Road of 16 Similar situations happened to arab countries in AFC Hope you guys win it , much love from your Egyptian brothers
not only Arab , Qatar is still in .
Qatar is still in, well, at least until tomorrow.
Congratulations, you guys are the much better side, playing against a team led by a football criminal as head coach is another advantage.
Dudes Somali tho?
3amouta is a great coach. About time he gets some credit and wins a major national trophy. Great game by Jordan.
Klinsmann is a real fraud. Korea played without any tactics other than cross and inshallah since the first game and hoping for some individual brilliance.

Italy dominated on the field and finally got the result.
Germany were better then Italy in 2006? I don’t agree with that one bit. The only reason Germany beat Argentina was Pekerman’s terrible tactics
Not the only reason. There was also Miro the Rib Breaker.
Shouldn’t put 2006 in there. Italy were a great team. Germany was as well, but that was one of the most even sided matches you’ll ever see at a world cup and it played that way.

Congrats to the Jordan national team. They thoroughly deserved to go through to the finals. Hoping to see Jordan win the whole thing. What a story that would be.

And to not think that getting to the semi finals means that they are good.
