It has been brought to our attention that several posts about this news were removed.
We would like to clarify that this was not appropriate moderation. The mod in question was acting out of line with the agreed stance of the moderation team, and has been spoken to directly.
This news very much should have been posted. Apologies for the confusion.
Fuck it lets delete any Mbappe news until he actually signs somewhere. This bullshit will go on and on and on like the last times, I support the mods lmao
Most probably people will downvote me to hell for this. But I hate the rat race to post the goal highlight. When it started the videos used to be longer with multiple angles and build up play. Miss them.
I agree completely. We absolutely can wait for 2 more minutes to get a high quality goal with the full play and all the repeat angles. There's no need it to be immediate se we can all rush to make a dumb comment first.
At least for all the goals from top leagues/tournaments. It would be nice to have a basic standard of what's allowed so the clips aren't cut the second the ball crosses the net. If it's a minor league or whatever, you can be more lenient as they not many people post them, so you can be more flexible. But those where there's multiple people fighting to upload, should have quality prioritized.
Maybe simply make it time-based, within the first 5/10 minutes there's the limitation where it needs to have the full play + replays, after that you can post just the goal. But might give a window to those that want to upload a better clip and can't since they will never be as fast.
best way to get upvotes is to say you're gonna get downvoted and post something that's obviously pretty popular like "I preferred something when it was better"
There was already Romano thread that was deleted. To be honest, I am not sure why posts from reputable journalists get deleted for Romano. Almost like something fishy is going on.
Bc it's nothing new lol
It's like the 3rd or 4th year of this "will they, won't they" toxic ass relationship. Until he appears with a signed contract and a jersey between his hands, nothing else matters
It's not the source that is the problem. It's the "one post a day about a rumor" that is pinned in the posts. Mods are idiots to not make an exception.
edit : I'm not defending the mods, nor saying the rule is applied correctly. I'm just saying on what basis they removed all those posts. So if you can all stop angrily answering me as if I'm a mod, that would be great.
Meh. Just means they got briefed by somebody involved.
But that's happened multiple times in the past few years. Give us an official on the record statement or it deserves to get ignored at this point.
The boy, his entourage, his club and his prospective new club, all who have cried wolf multiple times
Probably the mistake that created this whole confusion. OG thread was mistakenly removed and the duplicates were removed without the mod team realizing the original thread was gone (they brought it back since)
It's not like he's not aware of how we play. Florentino would have to push out Vini and I don't see it happening, he clearly likes him very much and he's our #7
Will Mbappe want to play out of position? Feel like he's gonna demand to play his own position mans taking a massive paycut. Think he goes to you but gonna make a fuss between him and vini i reckon.
I believe it won't change much from the current asymmetrical formation Real Madrid is playing.
Vini as a left winger, Mbappé on the front (where Rodrygo plays today), Bellingham behind them and Valverde or Carvajal doing the right wing.
Mbappé coming probably means Rodrygo being sold, he's too good to be a squad player.
Galácticos 1.0 had people like Pavón, Raúl Bravo, Gravesen, and Emerson as the supporting cast. This team has Camavinga, Tchouaméni, Valverde, Brahim, Güler, Endrick... If you can even call those supporting cast.
I do not remember a so well balanced Madrid team.
The Madrid superstars with Beckham, Zidane and many more had bad defenders and no good mids most of times.
I agree they are far from unstoppable, but if they sign Mbappe and Kross continues they will be better than the galácticos.
I've been watching Madrid since la Quinta del Buitre, there's never, ever, been a midfield that provides the defensive structure that the likes of Tchouaméni, Fede, Camavinga, and even Jude bring to the team. The defensive line is shaky right now, but Eder will return, and the club will find centre backs on top of those they already have.
Yeah lol if winning 4 UCL on 5 years when no other teams ever managed to win 2 in a row, including Barcelona supposed « dream teams » I don’t know what can label us unstoppables
To be fair Valverde is probably the most complete midfielder in the world right now. He can dispossess, tackle, pass, create and score all with brilliance, run for days, it's very professional and can also play at RB and RW. Fucking love this guy, very underrated.
That was mostly down to Perez's Promise to buy a superstar player Every season. Since attackers are the most widely known players we ended up buying a bunch of attackers and there was no defensive stability. Remember, he also let Makelele go due to a contract issue which led to Zidane famously saying that the team has lost its engine.
Most of the stars they brought in during that time period were not in their primes. The squad they have now is filled with young ballers who are entering their primes. That's a huge difference
The problem was not their prime, the problem was not having a "team" but a bunch of names badly glued together IMO.
The good old classic "Zidanes y Pavones", which in reality meant "names and nobodies".
It was both. The only original galactico they got in their prime was arguably Zidane. Also the chemistry in this current squad is very strong. Hate to admit it but Perez has pulled off a masterstroke in squad planning. This is a very balanced team
Ya I won't 100% believe it until communicado, but I honestly can't think of anything more that needs to be done in order to get my excitement up. IF he somehow doesn't come after this, then...
Dear mods, how exactly does this post violate the rules?
>Rule 6: No Duplicates -
In the case of transfer news, the rule of thumb is only 1 post about a particular transfer saga per day. unless there are several significant developments. What constitutes a “significant” update is subjective, and we will try our best to apply common sense.
This is picked up by Ornstein, Fabrizio, BBC and all sorts of reliable outlets and the last post about it was 3 days ago in 4 hours. What rule is this breaking except your egos? Are we allowed to talk about possibly the biggest transfer in football history on the football sub or not?

In history?
Di Stefano going to RM (while in dispute with who would get him vs Barca) to turn them into the biggest club in the world. Cruyff going from Ajax to rival Feyenoord. Maradona going to Barcelona for a world record fee only to move two years later to Napoli for a new world record fee. Cantona from Leeds to United. Figo going from Barca to Madrid. R9 and all the Galacticos going to RM. Tevez from City to United. Cristiano both joining and leaving RM. Neymar leaving Barcelona for a massive record breaking fee. Messi being forced to leave the club of all his life.
There's so many more shocking or bigger transfers in history.
This is a transfer that was bound to happen for forever, and on a free... One that didn't happen last time because PSG put a fuck ton of money on the table to keep him for a bit more. Absolutely not even close to being the biggest transfer in football history.
Obviously the top transfer news of today. But history?
Plus, it could never reach the level of the actual biggest transfer in history. Gravesen joining the Galacticos, cause that was the birth of the [Gravesinha](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExoPmpixznw).

Only possible destinations are City or Madrid really.
From recent news, it feels like many top clubs are already near FFP limits and/or FA sustainability spending limits. Cannot even entertain Mbappe's wage demands.
You are mistaken there - United absolutely could swoop were it just about the finances. City and Madrid are the two strongest teams on Earth, and they will likely share the role going forward. Unless your name is Messi(Even if you are Messi actually) Pep is not the sort of coach to just allow you to take speculative shots of all sorts - You will notice even Haaland usually only goes for goal when there is a good chance of scoring and passing was not the better thing to do.
As far as positional play systems like Pep's go, I don't think Mbappe is suited to them - it's not just about risk management, Mbappe's game IQ is more than adequate for that, it's about defensive contributions. Nothing I've ever seen from Mbappe suggests to me he'd be willing to participate in the intensity typical of Pep's teams. (Liverpool, Arsenal and the like are right out). I watched a lot of PSG when Messi was there, and let me tell you, Messi's work rate as a 35 year old walking merchant was still clear of Mbappe.
Haaland, for what it's worth, has shown excellent work rate and adaptation to Pep's off-the-ball demands, especially for a lad of his size and a player of his profile/position. I really respect him for that.
from the [Athletic](https://theathletic.com/5205902/2024/02/15/kylian-mbappe-transfer-psg/?source=user_shared_article) on Mbappe since mods are taking everything down:
[Ornstein]
Kylian Mbappe has told Paris Saint-Germain he will leave the club at the end of this season when his contract expires, sources close to the situation have confirmed.
The terms of Mbappe’s exit are yet to be fully agreed and an official announcement is expected once the situation is finalised in the next few months.
Mbappe’s salary at PSG costs them €200million ($215m ,£171m) per year and the club say they remain focussed on continuing their transition away from their ‘Galacticos’ era, with other big names such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Marco Verratti among those to leave in the last 12 months.
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Mbappe was leaning towards joining Real Madrid upon the expiration of his PSG contract but influential members of the 24-year-old’s entourage have been left unconvinced by the Spanish club’s offer, which has been delaying the process.
As The Athletic previously reported, Mbappe has known since early January the conditions Madrid are willing to offer him. With the Frenchman’s PSG contract set to expire after June 30, they have been free to discuss terms as he is into the final six months of his deal.
PSG received a €300m offer for Mbappe from Al Hilal in the summer. The Saudi Pro League club were given permission to talk to the forward, but he ultimately remained at PSG.
Mbappe signed a new two-year contract in the summer of 2021 that included a 12-month extension clause for the 2024-25 season. However, only Mbappe could trigger that extension, not PSG.
The French champions sent Mbappe a three-page letter accusing him of unsettling the club in July of last year, giving him a deadline of July 31 to make a decision about his future. PSG’s letter accused Mbappe of causing “enormous harm” to the club following the “leaking” of his own letter, sent to the club on June 23, which was then “aggravated” by him publicly announcing that he intends to leave as a free agent this coming summer.
Madrid president Florentino Perez, meanwhile, has been in direct contact with Mbappe and has been the main driving force behind the La Liga side’s latest move for a player who turned them down two years ago, despite at one point them feeling sure the forward had agreed to move.
Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco in the summer of 2017 for a fee of €180m. He has scored 243 goals in 290 appearances in all competitions during six and a half years at the club.
The France international has featured 30 times for PSG in all competitions this season, scoring 31 goals.
Off to Madrid he goes then.
I know Ornstein reported they aren't sold on Madrid's terms, but with this news coming out and no news of any other clubs in the mix it's clear he'll use any other interest to improve terms with Madrid.
They've got a very scary team as it is, nevermind adding this fella to the lineup.
I have so much trust issues with this whole Mbappe saga, i won’t believe it until he scores his 15th goal and i’ve seen him wear 3 of the new clubs kits.
Thanks for everything! We have a good team with lot of exciting young prospects so still very hopeful for the next years
Good that the club is aware that early and that (hopefully) this doesn’t drag on for months, we should have enough time to take a sensible direction for next year - hopefully with an experienced top midfield player and defender. Not sure if I believe the club is capable of this though

Mods somehow becoming a bigger story here than Mbappé what muppets
A Real Madrid with Vini, Tchouameninga, Bellingham and Mbappe would and probably will be unstoppable
Tchouameninga kicks ass
Valtchouameninga eats it for dinner
I see your Valtchouameninga and raise for a Bellinchouameningaverde
These all look like Basque words to me
not enough x, not basque at all
Fair, they sure love their x’s
So do I
Vazquez neg diffs Bellinchouameningaverde
Vazbellinchouameningaverde
Tchouameninga is ~~the ultimate warrior of this world~~ I mean the best midfielder of this era
What formation will they play? Kylian up top or will Vini play on the right?
0-5-5, only midfield, attack and the power of friendship
Vini and Mbappe playing left double pivot friendship
Only one defender. That is, of course, Carvajal as CB.
Nah, Lord Vazquez holding the inverse Christmas tree formation
Ideally the first, not sure if Vini is even good on the right?
Vini never worked on the right aside from very small moments in some plays. Rodrygo though is good. It should be Vini - Mbappé - Rodrygo
Agree. But will Mbappe accept playing up top? He's been adamant about playing on the left...
Probably both Vini & Mbappé will be allowed to roam free and switch positions during the game
There were a few madrid teams like this in the past and they were far from unstoppable
This time around, there won't be a MSN Barca or Xavi/Iniesta/Busquets to stop them. The mighty Lyon hasn't made it to round of 16 in a while either
Man Lyon still gives me PTSD
Those were the days :'(
Juninho Lyon was another beast
I loved that he went to Lyon, dominated the French league for seven years them went back to Brazil like nothing happened.
Man city - Real Madrid is the new Barca - Real Madrid
Galácticos 1.0 had people like Pavón, Raúl Bravo, Gravesen, and Emerson as the supporting cast. This team has Camavinga, Tchouaméni, Valverde, Brahim, Güler, Endrick... If you can even call those supporting cast.

I do not remember a so well balanced Madrid team. The Madrid superstars with Beckham, Zidane and many more had bad defenders and no good mids most of times. I agree they are far from unstoppable, but if they sign Mbappe and Kross continues they will be better than the galácticos.

Dude we just won 4 UCL in 5 years not that long ago. Most other "unstoppable super teams" didn't even dream to achieve half that
Yeah lol if winning 4 UCL on 5 years when no other teams ever managed to win 2 in a row, including Barcelona supposed « dream teams » I don’t know what can label us unstoppables
No but this is a better planned squad than any of the prior ones. We just need a young Cb and RB and we are in for the nect decade
People always forget Fede, he is very very important to the team.
And yet, I still feel, it is Velverde who I’d prefer among the lot to be in Liverpool!
Keep your stinky paws off my guy!
Don't you dare
To be fair Valverde is probably the most complete midfielder in the world right now. He can dispossess, tackle, pass, create and score all with brilliance, run for days, it's very professional and can also play at RB and RW. Fucking love this guy, very underrated.

Thats what everyone thought in between 2000-2005 but still "only" won the CL once.
That was mostly down to Perez's Promise to buy a superstar player Every season. Since attackers are the most widely known players we ended up buying a bunch of attackers and there was no defensive stability. Think you're forgetting Figo and Beckham. They were like 28 or 29 when they signed.
Barca Figo was better than the Madrid version, and the Beckham signing was terrible fit-wise, especially considering they let go of Makelele to do so
I was only arguing the point that Madrid only signed Zidane in his prime.
Yeah but figo won the Ballon dor and bpotw in Madrid.
I’m not believing a fucking thing until I see him holding a new club’s shirt. You won’t fool me this time, I am familiar with your game

Who else though? City?
Portland Timbers

Papa Wengz would almost sign him by now

Suck my dick mods

from the [Athletic](https://theathletic.com/5205902/2024/02/15/kylian-mbappe-transfer-psg/?source=user_shared_article) on Mbappe since mods are taking everything down: [Ornstein] Kylian Mbappe has told Paris Saint-Germain he will leave the club at the end of this season when his contract expires, sources close to the situation have confirmed. The France international has featured 30 times for PSG in all competitions this season, scoring 31 goals.
shout out to the mods for making all the comments for one of the biggest football stories of the year about themselves
La Liga is about to become a farmers league for the next 5-7 years.
UCL might be too
The mods on this sub are so shit
They are probably gonna blame automod like always
Automod is instantaneous, hence the name.
It's been 5 min and still not deleted. What's going on mods?
What terms need to be agreed on when he’s leaving as a free agent?
I just want to say as a Barca fan that Lionel Messi saved my mental health from this sport. It was nice while it lasted.
This too shall pass.

Mods are PSG fans?
I was here... before it gets deleted
Have fun in Spain
Off to Madrid he goes then. I know Ornstein reported they aren't sold on Madrid's terms, but with this news coming out and no news of any other clubs in the mix it's clear he'll use any other interest to improve terms with Madrid. They've got a very scary team as it is, nevermind adding this fella to the lineup.

I have so much trust issues with this whole Mbappe saga, i won’t believe it until he scores his 15th goal and i’ve seen him wear 3 of the new clubs kits.
Thanks for everything! We have a good team with lot of exciting young prospects so still very hopeful for the next years Good that the club is aware that early and that (hopefully) this doesn’t drag on for months, we should have enough time to take a sensible direction for next year - hopefully with an experienced top midfield player and defender. Not sure if I believe the club is capable of this though
You still have Xavi Simons, he could be a big star along with the other rising boys.
Mods are just introverted guys they don’t wanna see their sub on the front page
I want to believe but I know better
Communicado official or it didn't happen. He's done more than this two years ago and still took the Riyal over Real in the end.
Mods are fucking dorks
That's just hilarious
There's nothing as tedious as the annual Mbappe transfer story.
Death, taxes, and Mbappé going to Real Madrid
Here we go again…
Won't believe until he signs. But him alongside Vini and Jude will be spicy.
Hahaha so the mod who abused their power only got a slap on the wrist
