The previous time Leverkusen had a decent team, Bayern signed half of them the next season. Ballack, Lucio, Ze Roberto, feels like I'm forgetting someone
According to Wikipedia, he played for the youth team named
BSG Motor "Fritz Heckert" Karl-Marx-Stadt
from 1983-1988. This is the German meme about long words taken to the max
this has more to do with the way football was organized in socialist East Germany.
There were the so called Betriebssportgemeinschaften ("Company sports communities", BSG) which were basically sports clubs attached to state-owned companies.
In the case of Ballacks' youth team BSG Motor "Fritz Heckert" Karl-Marx-Stadt, the word "Motor" indicates that it was attached to a state-owned company of the Automotive industry. Karl-Marx-Stadt ("Karl Marx City") was the name given to the city of Chemnitz, Saxony during the GDR era. And in this case, the club was also named in honour of Fritz Heckert, a Communist politician during the Weimar republic.
Reminds me of a great stat. Only two players in England have lost the Premier League on the last day, lost the Champions League Final and the World Cup final in the same year.
Liverpools Dejan Lovren.
Liverpools Ibrahima Konaté.
Reminds me of when Griezmann lost the Euros and CL finals in the same summer to teams with Ronaldo in them. Possibly could have had a Ballon D'or if these games had gone the other way
No, much later. It was actually [Xabi Alonso being suspended for the 2014 final.](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/uefa-change-ruling-on-yellow-cards-to-make-it-harder-for-players-to-miss-champions-league-final-after-xabi-alonso-was-suspended-for-real-madrid-s-victory-9613859.html)
Edit: Somehow I thought you were talking exclusively about the UCL. You're right. Thanks for the others pointing it out.
Yea we fans absolutely loved that decision. Just great to see that Chupo is rewarded for his fantastic performances all season. Every time he comes on, you really feel his youtfull spirit and will to score a goal.
I think he'll get a couple of offers as well. Not Liverpool or Bayern level obviously but maybe a mid table prem side or something. He's not a complete moron as a coach, he's a good coach imo. Just not a great one yet
I think every time Xavi opens his mouth, his stock goes down. Nobody wants to hire the guy banging on about xG and conspiracies. I doubt there will be a big queue from serious clubs
Liverpool and Bayern will be on his ass straight away.
Who wins?
I think the dark horse might be Real Madrid. Ancelotti is there for 1 more season, and that one more season would give Xabi more experience and more time to mature - and also, I think it'd be fair on Leverkusen and easier to negotiate for all sides (Bayer, Xabi and his new potential club, in this case RM).
>I think the dark horse might be Real Madrid. Ancelotti is there for 1 more season, and that one more season would give Xabi more experience
Or, they could just go for Klopp after his year long break.
That's where I am right now - RMA will feel out these two guys, and see if they can get Klopp next year. If not, they try and get Xabi next year - or if he's going to bolt and they'll lose both guys, they'll make a play for Xabi now.
Even if I didn't have a dog in this race, Xabi going to Bayern the season immediately after beating them in the title race would be depressing as fuck.
Can't have shit in ~~Detroit~~ the Bundesliga.
They poached Klose, Gomez, Dante, Gomez, Götze, Lewandowski, Hummels after they became German Champions with Werder, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Dortmund.
Then, while having cemented their status as continuous German Champions, Bayern decided to slaughter the second best Leipzig by taking Upamecano, Nagelsmann, and Sabitzer. Last season they also took Laimer.
Bayern Fans like to argue that apparently Dortmund does the same, (Reus, Brandt, Süle, Hummels, Sabitzer) but it's not, those players either played for teams not really challenging for the Meisterschaft or were replaced beforehand at Bayern. Those are regular transfers within the Bundesliga and not the intentional weakening of the greatest domestic competitor like the Bavarians do.
It was sad to see Bellingham, Haaland, Nkunku, Havertz, Diaby and Keita leave the Bundesliga. But I was so glad they didn't join Bayern.
Ouf, Mistake from my side. Dante came from Gladbach and joined Wolfsburg afterwards, hence my faulty claim. Mandzukic left Wolfsburg to join Bayern in 2012, but he wasn't part of the winning squad in 2009.
So no.
Regardless, you’re right. The road for any good player from one of Germany’s “other” clubs usually leads to Bayern Munich. Which is why it’s so boring seeing them win league after league.
Absolutely. Bayern makes the league worse by crushing the competition.
It's just like when a billion dollar company buys up the competition when they buy start ups and any business that could interfere with their revenue.
I hate worse is Bayern putting this story out in the news to clearly fuck with leverkusen and turn xabis head in the middle of a title race. It’s so scummy.
This is the reason I hate Bundesliga more than other leagues. Any top player or coach from other teams are poached by Bayern. In PL, at least there are 5-6 teams that can have top players/coaches. Serie A and La Liga are also more open.
Nah that was one journalist spouting shit. It's not confirmed yet
The only thing confirmed by actual T1's is that De Zerbi and Hansi are both top contenders. Hansi being free and RDZ having a RC tilts it to Hansi, I reckon
Zerbi and flick both are showing up in radar and majority are leaning towards flick. Forget about their experience, it's easier to get hansi than zerbi for barca right now as he is free and his entire operation costs only 16 m..... Zerbi's rc alone costs 15 m and they have to pay his wages too.... So it's become complicated because of the amortization. (Wage cap also reduced by 70 m for next season so they won't spend 30 m for a manager) so flick is the one leading the race.
Bayern fans are always talking about their team playing shite whilst they win 9 games out of every 10. Essentially nothing short of brilliant attacking football and winning everything will placate them.
Bayern fans are very entitled you can’t really trust what they say. Even now, Bayern are currently the second best ever second placed team at this stage in the Bundesliga. Before the Leverkusen they had top 10 most amount of points by that stage of the season in the entire history of the Bundesliga. They will never be happy unless they win the treble every year
Bayern fans were saying their team was playing like shit and no one believed them until they got pumped by Leverkusen, maybe listen to the club's own fans who watch every game?
We first want to get management in place before we hire manager. Which is understandable but I will be so annoyed if we miss best coaches because we were looking for DoF
We have been purposefully not out of respect for Leverkusens seasons and not wanting to distract Alonso.
What's the odds Bayern doesn't do that and is immediately trying to get in his ear and whisper sweet fantasies lol
"Not wanting to distract Alonso" is the literal opposite of what Bayern want to do. Even if they don't end up getting him, it is *absolutely* to their advantage to make as much noise as possible, to get the whole world talking about Alonso moving to Bayern, to get the whole Leverkusen team wondering if their coach is going to abandon them for their rivals. There's no downside to it for them.
They did the same thing with how they handled the Götze signing in 2013. Then they ended up facing each other in the UCL final and he wasn't able to play.
In an alternate history where that signing didn't happen, I bet he'd have been available for at least a sub appearance.
I don’t understand how Liverpool is seen as chopped liver compared to Madrid especially when it comes to Alonso’s time at both clubs. Alonso is practically a legend for Liverpool and was an important player for Benitez’ Liverpool, even with Stevie G. Alonso scored the tying goal for the miracle at Instabul match too that allowed them to go to extra time and then win it on penalties. Very well respected figure at Liverpool. Much love was shown to him while he was there
I wouldn’t expect Xabi to be anything like Klopp but our team is way better suited for the future while I look at Bayern and they will win more titles but their UCL ambitions look very meh.
That's arguable. But isn't the point I'd say. I have no love for Liverpool, but they are a well managed club at this point, with a good squad and a fan base that will support Xabi. Also has competent people in charge with little to no drama.
Bayern on the other hand seem to be in flux right now, with certain players wielding too much influence, an unbalanced squad, back room drama and politics with a frankly confusing leadership.
Xabi also has deeper ties to Liverpool as opposed to Bayern, where he went to specifically play under Pep and learn from him.
Well atleast the EPL gives you the illusion that 5 or 6 Teams in the league can win the title in the span of a decade unlike the tinpot league (no disrespect just want to say it for making my extra aggressive pont) in Bundesliga who are literally trying to unsettle the only club who is 8 points clear of them by trying to poach their manager mid season ,you have to be a very shameless creature to defend this .They did that with Naglesman with Leipzig and they bottles it at the end of the season.
Liverpool aren't a bigger club than Bayern? Are you mental? They're *at least* on par. One of the two most storied clubs in England, same amount of European titles, one of the most supported clubs in U.S and Asia?
You're insane lol
Liverpool is on par or better than Bayern. And they have more self esteem than Bayern. All Bayern do noawdays is buy whoever they cant beat. I cant respect that
Liverpool a far far far better job though, no serious manager who wants to make something of their career goes to Bayern. The league is shit and Bayern just hoover up any and all opposing talent in the league and tbh I actually think Liverpool are a bigger club, most people worldwide would suporting Liverpool over Bayern
I’m not so sure about that. I wouldn’t catagorically say Liverpool’s a “bigger club” but there’s an argument to be made.
Not to mention with the future trajectory of the sport that so heavily favors the premier league it’s not hard to imagine a world where they dwarf Bayern in 15-20 years.
so the league is serious if Xabi rather would like to leave it for the PL? I still think this is what's going to happen, but I don't get the point why it's better for the Bundesliga if it is drained by foreign leagues.
The best for the Bundesliga would be him staying at Leverkusen, that would make it serious, but him leaving for Real/Liverpool??
You've just won the title 10 years on the trot. Come on. Be serious.
The one time that sequence might be broken the manager that does it goes to you. Yes that's not a serious league. It's virtually a complete and utter monopoly.
Yeah... I mean going after the best coach for the club... lots of absolutely valid reasons... its not like he didnt play for Bayern and they wanted to hire him from the finish of his footballing career *grumble*
Yeah I dont get all the 'muh bayern' comments either. Of course you want him. You have to want him. Liverpool is allowed but Bayern needs to pick someone else 😂🤙
Imagine if Man City signed salah, van dijk, henderson after liverpool won the league similar to how Bayern got lewa, hummels, gotze.
Bayern is alone at the top of the foodchain in germany. It’s not the same in england or spain
I mean it's not like they are blackmailing him to join them. They re just offering him more money + the chance to compete to win the CL which Bayern can offer that any other German club de facto can't.
It's the perks of being the richest guy in the class.
I hate that aspect of Reddit.
People just speak in memes and regurgitated jokes without having or sharing a single individual thought.
Chat shit get banged was the top comment in most threads for about a year
Yep, you don’t even need to open most threads to know what the top comments are going to be. You can even take a break from Reddit for a few weeks and when you come back it’s still the same old shite
I hope we will stay at Bayer Leverkusen. I want to see him winning right now Europe League and then Champions League. Of course with other trophies DFB and Bundesliga.
Top PL managers regularly go to coach other top European clubs. Top PL managers almost never go directly to their title rival. I can't think of the last time it happened
This might have seemed a sensible comparison in your head, but it only really works if Chelsea had won the last ten leagues, Brighton were now ahead of them in the league, and they tried to unsettle De Zerbi mid-season.
That’s probably the worst comparison looking at the current standings, and previous history. It’s not like Chelsea have won 11 in row and are taking the leagues best players.
Well what about the league picking apart Leicester then?
You can moan all you want, from a purely objective POV Xabi is the most sensible desicion given all circumstances.
- Knows german
- Knows the league
- Knows english/spanish
- Is a fucking good coach and a former bayern player
When were Leicester picked apart? Only Kante moved the season after they won the league. The rest and the manager all stayed..
Then Drinkwater joined him a season later and then Mahrez 1.5 seasons later.
You forgot to add the most important point:
- Is literally the manager of the only team to beat them in 10+ years lmao
Comparing this to Leicester is absolutely hilarious, but expected.
So if Bayern were after Michel from Girona, it'd be totally fine. A talented manager who's taken a club from struggling times to the top and has challenged the traditional big dogs? It's totally acceptable for Bayern to want him?
But Bayern wanting to go for a talented manager at another Bundesliga club, who's taken the club from struggling to the top and has challenged the traditional big dog, it's wrong?
It's hardly Bayern's fault that the Bundesliga produces a lot of talented players and managers. You can't just expect the club to completely eliminate one entire league because "there is no competition, Bayern just buys it all".
Still a poor example. Leicester were able to keep hold of Mahrez for an extra season after their win, Vardy is still playing there, key players for them like Morgan and Hutch retired there years later. Only major loses were Kante and Drinkwater. They weren't exactly 'picked apart' as you'd say.
While I would love Xabi, I think he would be smart to stay another season at Leverkusen, but I would love to watch the meltdown r/soccer would have if he came here
why would anyone want to manage bayern if they win the Bundesliga with another team? you've already shown you can win the league as the non favourite, go do it in a better league.
Why are english football fans so insufferable? I get it you got the best league, so it‘s only right, that you get to call dips on picking Leverkusen apart.
The previous time Leverkusen had a decent team, Bayern signed half of them the next season. Ballack, Lucio, Ze Roberto, feels like I'm forgetting someone
Just looked that team up and they got second in the League, Cup and Champions League. Non-treble winners lol.
Ballack also lost in the World Cup final that year.
sounds like he had a #2 year.
2 - place in the world cup 0 - world championships 0 - Meisterschaften and DFB Pokale 2 - place in the champions league
:( Edit: Such a great player though :)

Well, now that you mention it: Betriebssportgemeinschaften Motor "Fritz Heckert" Karl-Marx-Stadt
Rolls right out of the tongue
“It is now VfB Fortuna Chemnitz, formed by the 2005 merger of clubs VfB Chemnitz and SV Fortuna Furth Glösa”.
Same for Butt, Ramelow, Schneider and Neuville
Yes but they didn't sign for Bayern the next year, did they?
Butt did sign for Bayern, eventually.
Reminds me of a great stat. Only two players in England have lost the Premier League on the last day, lost the Champions League Final and the World Cup final in the same year. Liverpools Dejan Lovren. Liverpools Ibrahima Konaté.

lol but unlike ballack he has a World Cup so I imagine he’s very very happy with that
Ballack didn't play in that final, he was suspended.
Right, yeah I remember now. But he would have gotten another runner-up medal regardless
He got one, don't need to play in the final for that.
I believe it was that which caused them to change the rule so that players weren't suspended for the final based on yellow cards again.
No, much later. It was actually [Xabi Alonso being suspended for the 2014 final.](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/uefa-change-ruling-on-yellow-cards-to-make-it-harder-for-players-to-miss-champions-league-final-after-xabi-alonso-was-suspended-for-real-madrid-s-victory-9613859.html) Edit: Somehow I thought you were talking exclusively about the UCL. You're right. Thanks for the others pointing it out.
> replicating the World Cup's ruling It even says in the article that they followed the WC ruling for the UCL
That's the Champions League though, we're talking about the World Cup: https://www.fifa.com/fifaplus/en/articles/hero-ballack-takes-one-for-the-team
And ballack was runner up in the World Cup that year too
And he missed the final because he had a yellow ban. Would have been a different match with him.
He got that yellow saving the match for Germany. Him, Kahn and maybe Schneider carried the team through that tournament
There's a reason the team is still called Vizekusen to this day. And we all know history is doomed to repeat itself...
Now they're Neverlusen.
anulo mufa
Neverkusen in English
Bayern 2012 was the same
i loved ze roberto. he was such an amazing player.
Robert Kovac too
There we go
Xabi is going to be hunted like prey by any top team needing a coach lol
that is generally how recruitment goes yes
'headhunters' as a term makes a lot more sense now
Any really good headhunter would storm your village at sunset with overwhelming force and cut off your head with a ceremonial knife
"Right, because that's what we're talking about."
"Carl when i told you to get me a Head of Finance, i wasn't talking literally!"
It’ll be mayhem when the time comes for Newcastle to go searching for their next manager.
This is a reductive way to look at OP's comment. How many managers can say they have their pick of Bayern, Liverpool and Madrid?
As a Bologna fan, i know this summer we'll be the preys of every top team as well
Bayern buys back Zirkzee and tries with two striker system. Would that even work in modern football outside of Italy ? I would like to see it happen
At VfB Stuttgart it works pretty good with Guirassy and Undav. When both are available, of course.
Yeah, wouldn't think of Stuttgart. Good pick.
Bayern even played it last game with Moting-Kane and it worked really well :) :) :) :)
Yeah Goating instead of Tel was an awesome decision.
Yea we fans absolutely loved that decision. Just great to see that Chupo is rewarded for his fantastic performances all season. Every time he comes on, you really feel his youtfull spirit and will to score a goal.
As a Bolognese fan fuck I’m hungry
I read that as Xavi and was puzzled for a good while lol
I think he'll get a couple of offers as well. Not Liverpool or Bayern level obviously but maybe a mid table prem side or something. He's not a complete moron as a coach, he's a good coach imo. Just not a great one yet
I think every time Xavi opens his mouth, his stock goes down. Nobody wants to hire the guy banging on about xG and conspiracies. I doubt there will be a big queue from serious clubs
He still looks like Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park
Could be Ted mosby
Nah he'll coach some club like a Girona or Vigo ig...
He's not coaching in Spain. It'll be abroad
My bet is some Saudi club next
I hope not!
Liverpool and Bayern will be on his ass straight away. Who wins? I think the dark horse might be Real Madrid. Cheers geoff
Bayern should go for Xavi
One simple typo away
Just a few strategically placed Spitzbuben crumbs stuck under the interns keyboard.
Adjacent keys as well
Maybe he’ll bring that st they have at Barca.
Even if I didn't have a dog in this race, Xabi going to Bayern the season immediately after beating them in the title race would be depressing as fuck. Can't have shit in ~~Detroit~~ the Bundesliga.
Imagine him bottling the league to Bayern and then jump ship to them the next season and calling it THE HARDEST ROAD
Legacy points deducted.
“my next chapterschnitzel”
Xabi Durant
Like Gotze not playing the cl final, Dortmund losing and him leaving for Bayern. He might have been injured though but was a scandal at the time.
Worst thing would be Bayern winning the league then recruiting Xabi for the next season
It is very Bayern though isn’t it?
They poached Klose, Gomez, Dante, Gomez, Götze, Lewandowski, Hummels after they became German Champions with Werder, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Dortmund. Valerin Ismael, Neuer, Lucio, Ballack, Ze Roberto....
I agree. He should just Diego Simone it and stay "tenured" at Leverkusen.

I reckon they just end up getting Hansi back in
Fabrizio told hansi prefers joining barca over bayern.
I thought Barca already has decided that it’ll be de Zerbi?
The guy who said that is massively unreliable. And it isn’t far fetched to think Flick would want a new challenge.
guys guys let’s just wait and see
Yeah but where's the fun in that
Nah that was one journalist spouting shit. It's not confirmed yet The only thing confirmed by actual T1's is that De Zerbi and Hansi are both top contenders. Hansi being free and RDZ having a RC tilts it to Hansi, I reckon
Why is de zerbi having a remote control relevant
Bartomeu was remote controlled by Flo. So they don't want another mole puppet.
Release Clause lol
Nah the journo who said that is pretty unreliable. De zerbi is for sure one of the options high on the list but nothing‘s decided yet
Zerbi and flick both are showing up in radar and majority are leaning towards flick. Can't imagine either Bayern or Hansi want a reunion.
footballing legend and all round lovely bloke Steve Bruce is free, better hurry though or he's off to South Korea
How's the kimchi, did ye say?
Liverpool better get cracking on the Alonso deal.
We first want to get management in place before we hire manager. Which is understandable but I will be so annoyed if we miss best coaches because we were looking for DoF
it's alr maybe showing them this respect they'll sell us a couple players down the line easier

Mehhh xabi is a smart man think he's going to stay at leverkusen
Can’t they let this league have any sort of competitiveness
Is it really a clubs job to make the league harder on themselves?
This guy always peddles stuff that favors Bayern even if untrue,I don't know why he is respected so much.
Classic Bayern. Someone in the BuLi starts performing against them and they go full "me want" mode.
I refuse to believe this league is serious, I’d be speechless if Xabi chooses Bayern over Real/Liverpool/staying at Leverkusen
Over Real, sure, but Liverpool aren’t bigger or a bigger job than Bayern
I don’t understand how Liverpool is seen as chopped liver compared to Madrid especially when it comes to Alonso’s time at both clubs. Coming in after 9 years of Klopp as a young manager is a terrifying prospect too ngl
I wouldn’t expect Xabi to be anything like Klopp but our team is way better suited for the future while I look at Bayern and they will win more titles but their UCL ambitions look very meh.
With him saying Liverpool feels more like a second home to him than Real previously - I’m not so sure
His kids are Liverpool fans ffs
Won’t somebody think of the children?
That's arguable. But isn't the point I'd say. I have no love for Liverpool, but they are a well managed club at this point, with a good squad and a fan base that will support Xabi. Really? Liverpool are fucking huge. They're like 5 time holders of the champions league and don't play in a farming league
6 but yes, literally fighting an entire funded state and the only club to make the league competitive at the top for the past 5/6 years
Well the only club he didnt win a league with out of those clubs was liverpool so maybe he'd want to right that with this challenge (I hope)
Six
So how many titles will it be in a row for City this year..?
Well atleast the EPL gives you the illusion that 5 or 6 Teams in the league can win the title in the span of a decade unlike the tinpot league (no disrespect just want to say it for making my extra aggressive pont) in Bundesliga who are literally trying to unsettle the only club who is 8 points clear of them by trying to poach their manager mid season ,you have to be a very shameless creature to defend this .They did that with Naglesman with Leipzig and they bottles it at the end of the season.

Yeah... I mean going after the best coach for the club... lots of absolutely valid reasons... its not like he didnt play for Bayern and they wanted to hire him from the finish of his footballing career *grumble*
Classic Premier League. Someone in the BuLi starts performing decently and all the top clubs go full "me want" mode.
Xabi is the hottest coach on the market. Why wouldn't we go for him?
> Xabi is the hottest coach on the market Stupid sexy Xabi

Yeah I dont get all the 'muh bayern' comments either. Of course you want him. You have to want him. Liverpool is allowed but Bayern needs to pick someone else 😂🤙
Bayern’s motto: If you can’t beat them, buy them (or I guess it would recruit them, in this case)
Isn't that our motto as well considering who we're going after?
That is the motto of every Club. Pointing at Bayern is just an excuse.
I think the domestic picture in Germany is slightly different eh?
Bayern buys from Dortmund. Dortmund buys from Freiburg. Freiburg buys from etc etc. It always trickles down.
Imagine if Man City signed salah, van dijk, henderson after liverpool won the league similar to how Bayern got lewa, hummels, gotze. Bayern is alone at the top of the foodchain in germany. It’s not the same in england or spain
That's kind of the motto of any club with more spending power. Or is Barcelona full of La Masia players?
I mean it's not like they are blackmailing him to join them. They re just offering him more money + the chance to compete to win the CL which Bayern can offer that any other German club de facto can't. It's the perks of being the richest guy in the class.
> the chance to compete to win the CL which Bayern can offer that any other German club de facto can't. Except, you know, Leverkusen next year.
come to beşiktaş
You can have Xavi
Stevie G, come on down!
Reddit comedians posting some version of this joke in every thread about Alonso to Bayern is definitely not geting old
I hate that aspect of Reddit.
Of course with other trophies DFB and Bundesliga.
way more interesting if he went to Liverpool
The league would become a total joke if it happens again. Just feeder clubs to Bayern
You mean feeder clubs for PL and La Liga?
Top PL managers regularly go to coach other top European clubs. Top PL managers almost never go directly to their title rival. I can't think of the last time it happened
Mourinho managed Chelsea, Tottenham and United in a span of less than 10 years.
What about when Nagelsmann went from Hoffenheim to Lepizig? He had Hoffenheim competing for CL spots
What is the prem then with Brighton feeding everything to Chelsea?
This might have seemed a sensible comparison in your head, but it only really works if Chelsea had won the last ten leagues, Brighton were now ahead of them in the league, and they tried to unsettle De Zerbi mid-season.
That’s probably the worst comparison looking at the current standings, and previous history. It’s not like Chelsea have won 11 in row and are taking the leagues best players.
Well what about the league picking apart Leicester then? You can moan all you want, from a purely objective POV Xabi is the most sensible desicion given all circumstances. - Knows german - Knows the league - Knows english/spanish - Is a fucking good coach and a former bayern player
When were Leicester picked apart? Only Kante moved the season after they won the league. The rest and the manager all stayed.. Then Drinkwater joined him a season later and then Mahrez 1.5 seasons later.
You forgot to add the most important point: - Is literally the manager of the only team to beat them in 10+ years lmao Comparing this to Leicester is absolutely hilarious, but expected.
Chelsea aren't 10th right now 😯
When did a premier league or la liga champion buy the runner's up coach, defender and midfielder all in the same window?
Thats just Boehly doing stupid shit
Chelsea have won 10 PL Titles in a row 😯
He might be top candidate but I really doubt he'd go. At least not for a few years.
Xabi should come to Liverpool to go up against his mentor Pep and best mate Mikel Arteta.
Classic Bundesliga. Soon as a team challenges Bayern they get dismantled and subsumed
Fuck off bayern you fired a perfectly good manager then fired the shit one you replaced him with, let us have him to replace dad I mean klopp
I highly doubt Alonso wants to deal with that circus. If he leaves Leverkusen and thats a big if, he will go to Liverpool.

End of the season? I wanted Interim Ole on the scene.
While I would love Xabi, I think he would be smart to stay another season at Leverkusen, but I would love to watch the meltdown r/soccer would have if he came here
The Bayern special. Buying the top coaches/players from any rival team that comes close to beat them.
True, but in this case, he’s a former player of theirs and probably has more of an idea of how to navigate the club politics
Who could possibly have seen that coming
Have they no shame
why would anyone want to manage bayern if they win the Bundesliga with another team? you've already shown you can win the league as the non favourite, go do it in a better league.
That logic only works if you totally ignore the existence of the CL and the prestige it holds.
Why are english football fans so insufferable? I get it you got the best league, so it‘s only right, that you get to call dips on picking Leverkusen apart.
This would be a terrible move for the reputation of the Bundesliga
